To The Future (sermon)
It’s a new year! And the question is, “What promises of God are you going to give back to God?” I dare you to ask for what God promises to give. It’s so important that we ground ourselves this year in the promises of God. We do that primarily through praying the promises of God. We hope you are inspired this week and we look forward to God has for you in 2020.

A Simple Christmas (week 3)
Having a "Simple" Christmas has lots of meanings. One of the things it does is encourages us to give more. What does relational giving require of us? What does it cost? Looking at Mary we see an example of someone that was a humble servant. There’s some wonderful history around her name and that time in history and it’s just a great example of a faithful follower of Jesus. We pray that you continue to keep your Christmas "simple."

A Simple Christmas (week 2)
What story does our spending at Christmas tell to the world? This week we talk about spending less. This is not easy. Our culture doesn’t encourage us this way. A Simple Christmas (week 1)
Having a “simple" Christmas helps us pursue what really matters. The goal is to spend less and give more. This will result in us worshiping more fully and loving others better. That’s a great goal for this Christmas season. It’s also a challenge because of the vast consumerism we face everyday. We need to remember what a simple Christmas is.

Living in the Presence of God
Celebrating Christ the King Sunday might prompt the making of resolutions for the new church year. Do we dare resolve to live every moment in the presence of God? It will change our lives and our church if we do. Help comes from ancient sources--the writer of Colossians and an obscure 17th century member of the Discalced Carmelites. See what "secrets to a fulfilled life" they have to offer us.

The Book of Acts (week 3)
Everyday we have a choice whether to give up control to God. To give our “yes” to him. As we look at Acts chapter 9 this week, we see the conversion of Paul. Paul (as well as Ananias) gave God his “yes.” See God wants our “yes,” uses our “yes," and ultimately yields fruit from our “yes.” Start today and see what God can do through you, with your “yes." The Book of Acts (week 2)
The killing of Stephen, because of his testimony about Jesus, raises certain questions for us. Would we be able to give as eloquent a testimony as he did? Would we have the courage to die for the gospel? Perhaps an even more important set of questions might be whether the testimony we give every day is eloquent in its actions. Or maybe, do we have the courage to live for the gospel?

We Are For Family (week 2)
We, as Christians, should be “for” people that are far from God. We should be “for” those who have decided to either reject God or to ignore the love of Christ. Jesus was “for" those people, so we should do what Jesus did. Even though they might reject our beliefs, we never know what God is doing in the hearts of men. Pastor Todd uses the story of Zacchaeus to unpack this truth even more. Be encouraged this week and look for those that you can be “for.”

We Are For Family
There is a huge difference between people that are against you and people that are for you. It changes everything! It gives us the joy and energy that we need in life. We start a new series called “We Are For” this week. This week we talk about we are for family and that is only because ultimately God is for you. Maybe it’s time to accept that God is for you and not against you. Be encouraged by God's word this week. God bless.

Salvation - It's More Than You Think
Salvation is something we talk about all the time, so surely everybody knows what it is, right? Not necessarily! Who is Truth?
In a world of relativism, who has the truth? Or better yet, who is the truth? See, truth is not a set of rules, but it is a person, Jesus Christ. As Christians we are called to connect the world to him. This is important because the truth of Jesus Christ is the kind of truth that transforms. It changes lives. It changed our lives. Enjoy this week’s message.

Treasure Hunt
The Kingdom of God or (The Kingdom of Heaven) is not a place we end up one day but a spiritual reality that we awaken to now. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 13 that this kingdom is like a treasure that a man discovered in a field. In his joy he sold everything he had to purchase the field. Is that your experience with God's kingdom? It's a good question to consider and pray about.

Cop Movies - What Is Your Role In The Church?
Why have we been created, for what purpose? Why do some Churches prosper and others struggle? Why do I not fill fulfilled in my service to God's Kingdom? The foundation to finding the answer to the questions rest upon us understanding how God created the body of Christ, the Church. In this sermon, Pastor Todd will answer these questions and give us a challenge to be activated for the mission of Jesus Christ.

Mask Movies
There are many iconic mask movies. Maybe you have a few that come to mind. The reality though is that movies aren’t real. They are fake. But what is true is that we has humans often times wear masks. We project an image we want or hide from what we don’t want others to see. Luke 7:36-44 teaches us a very important lesson about leaving our masks behind and being the real you. Jesus came to save the real you, not the fake you. The process takes courage but what is at stake is your freedom.

REceive - I Don't Get It
God has made us to love us. It is our job to receive that love and pass it on to everyone around us. Too often though, we just don’t get it. We forget how deeply loved we are. We think we are separate individuals; not connected to God or others. And we miss the point of life. Learn how we don’t “get it” . . . yet.

RE:ER - REnew
As Christians we need to regularly be renewed. Renewed in our thinking and in our actions. Romans 12 says, “be transformed by the renewing of your minds.” We live in a “vulture culture” that wants to tear each other apart but in the church God’s gift of grace and forgiveness calls us to give grace and become forgivers. Maybe it’s time for you to forgive someone. Do it today. Leave your gift at the altar and make it right. You will be renewed in the process.

Re: Relationship
What are God’s favorite letters? “RE?” “ER?"… Words like Repentance, Renew, Redo, Restore, Receive, Ressurect or Relationship. But “RE” isn’t worth much unless it changes us. That’s where the “ER” comes in. Because we REceive love from God we can be lovERs of others. Because we have a REdo through the Gospel we can be doERs of the Word and not just hearers. The list could go on. Listen to Dr. Marty unpack and talk about God’s favorite letters, starting with “RElationship."

He Was Taken Up Into Heaven
Do you bring good news? That’s what we are called to do. We are called to go out into the world, as Christians, and share the gospel (the good news) of Jesus Christ. Do you ever think about things you might have regretted? There are a lot of things, following Jesus, that we are called to do. Road To Emmaus: What Are You Searching For?
There is not many people who could say, "I've never been disappointed with God." Typically we are disappointed when we have been praying about some issue and God has been slow to respond to our needs or requests. One of our biggest challenges comes when we are looking for the God of miracles and not looking for a Messiah. God is always with us, whether we acknowledge it or believe it. From Luke 24, the Word teaches us we can find God when we search the scriptures, when we come together in the breaking of bread, and through the conviction of the Holy Spirit. So, what are you searching for today...a prophet, a miracle worker, or a Savior?

The pattern in the book of Judges is that Israelites go in and out of captivity. In Judges 3 the people cry out for rescue and Ehud is sent to the enemy king. A Study Of Love: Living In The Truth (sermon)
We begin our study of 1 John together as we look at the key points of the book as a whole. We see how John was confronting the heresy of the Gnostics and how, as Christians, we are called to walk in the light.  Pastor Marty Dunbar expounds on these ideas, and more, in this week’s sermon.  JWUMC exist to connect people to Jesus. A Million Dreams (sermon)
God has a dream for our lives. A dream that aligns with his goals and his will. Psalm 32:1-11 gives us incredible insight into what will happen when we turn from our sin, and our self-oriented way of living life, and embrace the forgiveness of the Lord. We are called to three truths: 1. Desire to know God 2. Desire to listen to God and 3. Desire to follow God.  JWUMC exist to connect people to Jesus. We would love to help you in that process. As 2019 gets underway, what are you dreaming about? What does your hope for the future anchor itself to? 1 Corinthians 2:6-16 teaches us that God has dreams for all who love him.
