Throat Chakra Healing with Yoga Nidra
In today’s practice, we will focus on the 5th chakra, known as the throat chakra. This meditation is beneficial to open up our ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Sometimes we may hold back on what we want to say, which causes a blockage here. What you have to say holds value. Give yourself permission to speak your truth. This center is also the bridge between the heart and the head. So bringing this center back into balance will impact the 4th and 6th chakra as well. The chakras are energy centers that correspond to nerve bundles and major organs in the body. Each chakra is like a spinning wheel, collecting the energy from below it and raising it higher until it is caught by the next chakra and circulated. When all chakras are open and flowing we experience health and well being. But our emotions, stress and tension from everyday life can block this natural flow of energy. Just like we need to clean our external world, our house, our body. We also need to attend to our internal cleanliness, meaning our emotions and our energy. So today’s practice is like a spring clean for our inner world, beginning at our root chakra. Advanced Prana Healing (Prana Nidra and 432 Hz Healing Music)
This meditation combines the powerful healing techniques of yoga nidra, prana nidra and 432 Hz music. Fall effortlessly into deep, restorative sleep. No experience required. Simply put on head phone or ear buds and follow the sound of my voice. “432 Hz frequencies have been associated with enhancing mood and alleviating fatigue. Most importantly, tuning to the earth frequency. 432 Hz is known as the natural tuning of the universe and is a cosmic number related to sacred geometry that provides relaxation. It extends its roots in musical theory, science and architecture. Heart Chakra Healing with Yoga Nidra
Use this meditation to awaken the feeling of love and forgiveness. In today’s practice, we will focus on the 4th chakra, the heart center. Any time we feel lonely, sad or disconnected we need to check in with our heart center. When the heart center is blocked we may feel jealous, hold grudges and have a fear of intimacy. But as we awaken this center, we will tap into our resilience, our ability to overcome all of life’s challenges and allow them to help us grow stronger. We will find compassion for ourselves and others and tune back into unconditional love. A few signs that we need to heal the 4th chakra would be: Physically, we may experience a lowered immune system such as colds, flu, infections, heart and lung issues, poor circulation, high/low blood pressure as well as breathing difficulties. Emotionally, when Anahata is blocked, we may experience: Shyness Loneliness Depression/Anxiety Find it hard to forgive Lack empathy On the other hand, if our heart chakra is overactive, we may notice: Dependence on others for fulfillment Jealousy High expectations of others Harsh judgement of self and others Needing the acceptance of others The chakras are energy centers that correspond to nerve bundles and major organs. Third Chakra Healing with Yoga Nidra
In today’s practice, we will focus on the 3rd chakra, the solar plexus chakra. Any time we feel weak, insecure or unworthy, we can check in with the 3rd chakra to regain our power. We all have a deep well of strength and courage within, we simply forget sometimes. So join me as we embrace our determination, our will, our warrior spirit and burn away everything that no longer serves us.  A few signs that we need to heal the 3rd chakra would be:  Physically we may experience digestive issues, eating disorders, ulcers, diabetes, issues with the pancreas, liver, and colon.  Emotionally, when Manipura is blocked, we may experience: A lack of trust Excessively worrying what others think of us Low self esteem Seeking approval from others Get stuck in the victim role Form unhealthy attachments to people in our life By focusing our attention here, we can step back into our power. Remembering our true nature, our value and purpose.  The chakras are energy centers that correspond to nerve bundles and major organs. Each chakra is like a spinning wheel, collecting the energy from below it and raising it higher until it is caught by the next chakra and circulated. When all chakras are open and flowing we experience health and well being. But our emotions, stress and tension from everyday life can block this natural flow of energy. Rise and Shine Morning Meditation
Life is stressful, but morning meditation can help! There is no experience necessary at all. Simply sit or lay in any way that is comfortable for you and follow my voice. The act of meditating causes the pituitary gland in your brain to secrete endorphins. They make us feel good, emotionally and physically. Meditation also enhances activity in the area of your brain that’s associated with positive emotions and experiences. Some studies suggest that meditation helps combat depression and anxiety, while others say that regular meditation may even improve pain tolerance.  This meditation can be used at any time, but is most powerful first thing in the morning. Take some time to breathe and awaken gently with this peaceful meditation. You deserve the gift of your total awareness. Even better, try waking up to this everyday, for one full week. Then let me know about all of the changes you start to see in your life.  If you are enjoying this podcast, please tell all your friends. Also please consider becoming a supportive listener. Calming Anxiety
This 10 minute meditation will bring you back to center, back to deep peace within. Simply follow the breath as we guide it deeper and deeper within. First we find balance between the inhalation and the exhalation. Then we gently lengthen the exhalation to shift our nervous system out of Fight & Flight and back into the parasympathetic side, the rest and relaxation side. Take your time and be easy with yourself. Over time this technique will be a tool to quickly let go of anxiety and welcome peace once more.   If you are enjoying this podcast, please tell all your friends. Second Chakra Healing with Yoga Nidra
Today’s practice is the second in the Chakra Healing Series. A new series of meditations for us to take a journey together through the chakras to uncover healing and wholeness. Finding where we feel stuck and welcoming movement and freedom into our minds, bodies and life. In today’s practice, we will focus on the 2nd chakra, the sacral chakra. Any time we feel stuck or rigid, this meditation can reawaken our emotional intelligence and assist us in finding flow and ease once more. Signs our second chakra is blocked: we get lost in fantasies, excessive indulging and addictive behavior, we feel a lack of fulfillment, we experience negative and destructive emotions and codependent behavior. As well as a blockage in our creative flow. (writers block) The chakras are energy centers that correspond to nerve bundles and major organs. First Chakra Healing with Yoga Nidra
This meditation is designed to bring awareness and healing to the first chakra, as you drift off to restful sleep. In today’s practice, we will focus on the first energy center of the body, known as the root chakra. Any time we are challenged by major life changes or feel overwhelmed or unsettled, it is a good idea to check in with the root chakra. All you need to do is follow my voice and invite relaxation into your mind and body. Yoga Nidra for Self Love and Self Care
“Self-love is not selfish; you cannot truly love another, until you know how to love yourself.” What a powerful quote that we all near to hear and remember. So in todays practice we will take some time to nurture ourselves. We will remember that there is no-one else like YOU. YOU are special and deserve to be loved, right now in this moment, exactly the way you are. There is no need to change to be loved. You are worthy of love not only from those around you, but also from the most important person in your life as well — YOU. If you are enjoying this podcast, please tell all your friends. iRest Practice 11- Body Sensing with Autogenics
In this practice we are combining the power of Body Sensing with Autogenics. Just like Body Sensing, Autogenics produces a profound sense of relaxation and healing. This is done through auto suggestion. Autogenic means, something that comes from you. So unlike hypnosis where a trance is induced by another individual, in autogenic YOU are training your body to respond to your commands. These commands "tell" your body to relax. They assist you in controlling breathing, blood pressure, heartbeat, and body temperature. The goal of Autogenics is to achieve deep relaxation and reduce stress.

iREST Practice 10- Progressive Muscle Relaxation
In today’s meditation, we will explore Progressive Muscle Relaxation. This is a deeply relaxing practice and it is not uncommon to fall asleep during this type of session. So if you are practicing during the day and need to be somewhere, simply take a moment to set a timer before you begin. Experience the total release of all tension as we tighten and let go of different muscle groups throughout the body. Find deep rest and relaxation.

iREST Practice 9- Peeling Away Tension
In our last practice we learned about sensing our hands. Today’s practice takes this a little bit further as we sense different parts of our body. Our task is going to be sensing different parts of our body, noticing sensations, so we can peel away tension. So take a brief pause from your day to let go of stress and tension.

Yoga Nidra for Grief (background music)
At some point in all of our lives we will be challenged by grief. While each one of us will grieve in a unique way, the experience of loss is universal. I am not looking to cure your grief, I simply want to support you through it. Although we may not have control over a break up, divorce, or death occurring, we do have complete control over the thinking that follows. (even if it doesn’t feel that way) We CAN create an experience where we fully feel the grief and desire healing, or we can become a victim of the pain and suffering. The choice IS ours. Join us as we explore a yoga nidra meditation to begin the healing process after grief. There is nothing for you to do, simply follow the sound of my voice and invite your breath to slow down. Allow yourself to be supported.  If you are enjoying this podcast, please tell all your friends. Also please consider becoming a supportive listener. Yoga Nidra for Shoulder Pain (no music)
The body is constantly giving us messages on how we can help it heal. Shoulder pain is no exception. When we bring awareness to all levels of our being instead of simply focusing on the physical body, we are able to find healing much faster. This meditation will bring awareness and attention through all of the koshas. Like peeling an onion we will dive deeper and deeper within to uncover the message our shoulder pain holds for us. Once we acknowledge the emotional root cause we can take steps to resolve these emotions. This is based on the work of many throughout the years. Specifically, the book "Messages from the body: Their psychological meaning" by Narayan Singh Khalsa as well as Louis Hay's book "You can heal your body".  If you are enjoying this podcast, please tell all your friends. Yoga Nidra- Finding Peace in Challenging Times (background music)
Simply follow my voice on a journey deep within. We will begin by finding stillness, then move to awareness of subtle movements happening within the stillness. The mind is constantly anchored allowing you to rest at a much deeper level. Then we journey up a sacred mountain together. This journey reminds us of our strength.  Despite facing challenges and self doubt, we push on. We never give up. Never allow the negative thoughts to take over and it is all worth it in the end. There are no words to describe the beauty when we reach the top. The knowledge that we push through and made it. Fall into a rewarding and deep sleep without any effort at all. Wake up feeling a sense of wellbeing and accomplishment.   If you are enjoying this podcast, please tell all your friends. Also please consider becoming a supportive listener. iREST Practice 5- Affirming your Intention- Journaling Exercise
NOT a meditation.  This episode is a journaling exercise for healing PTSD. Once we discover our Heartfelt Mission, we need to set our Intentions to support that mission. We create a positive statement of truth to guide us when we begin to veer off of our healing path. Empowering ourselves to participate fully in our healing journey.

iREST Practice 4- Affirming your Heartfelt Mission- Journaling Exercise
NOT a meditation.  This episode is a journaling exercise for healing PTSD. We are laying the groundwork for our healing mission. When we realize how powerful our thoughts and beliefs are, it just makes sense to harness that power by bringing awareness to them. Setting our Heartfelt Mission is a step to put the tools in place now for when the road to healing becomes bumpy. There is no straight line between PTSD and healing. There will be ups and downs. So we begin to focus on our Heartfelt Mission in the beginning to strengthen us when our journey gets tough.

iREST Practice 3- Forgetting and Remembering (no music)
Guided meditation, no background music. We start from a place of feeling whole so we can address the symptoms of PTSD from a safe place. Acknowledging that although “something is wrong” nothing is wrong with you. We need to change the symptoms of PTSD but YOU are already whole. PTSD disrupts this feeling of wholeness so we will practice Forgetting our felt sense and then remembering it once again. Very simple but very powerful!

iREST Practice 2- The Power of Being (no music)
Short lesson, followed by a guided mediation (no background music) In this practice we will remember our felt sense of “being”. Let go of judgement, let go of doing and thinking and simply rest in “being”. Many times in traditional therapies for PTSD the focus is on “what’s wrong” here we focus on “what’s right”.

Yoga Nidra to Calm the Mind (no music)
Guided yoga nidra, no background music. Too often we give up on our meditation practice because we think we have to silence the mind but that will never happen when we focus on all of the thoughts popping into our head! Allow me to show you proven ways of slowing down the thoughts. Increasing the space between the thoughts so we can be aware of when our thoughts are drawing our attention away from our breath. You can do this!! I have purposely not used music here so those with PTSD and TBI can focus without distraction. Enjoy! If you are enjoying this podcast, please tell all your friends.
