Host KamenRiderFurry reflects on the past year, sharing the journey of the podcast, as well as looking into the future for new projects, shows, and even guests. The package is topped off with an adorable bow -- the intro featuring several returning guests with a special message for the listeners!

Friend of the show Razz makes his debut on the show to discuss the hidden gem 90s robot espionage thriller Mobile Suit Gundam F91. In true Ancient Anime fashion they get sidetracked along the way by video games, plot holes, and how those who can't handle their emotions are trash (well at least according to one particular character). Join along in the fun and get just as confused as both hosts in this week's episode!

Life long friend Lori joins KRF this episode to take a deeper look at the cult classic sci-fi anime Ghost in the Shell. They take an intense look at the concept of gender, the manifestation of depression, and the intense amount of breasts in this show. Sit down, put your brain in the closest robot, and experience this months-in-the-making episode in all its glory!

This week the show has it's first celebrity guest with drag icon and star of the brand new Shudder original Dragula Titans, Astrud Aurelia! This horror buff and proud furry sits down with KRF to discuss Pokemon The Movie 2000. They cover an array of important topics such as the misunderstanding of panic attacks by the public, the wasted potential of this movie's villain, and of course, which Pokemon is the hottest (Spoiler alert: Astrud has a life size Lucario so...) Get to know this bizarre in-between generations movie through the eyes of two people who really just wanna know how much they paid Donna Summer to be in this.

Vtuber extraordinaire Komi is back for another dose of 90s nonsense as they sit down with host KamenRiderFurry to talk about the spiritual successor to Fatal Fury -- the 12 episode faux-deep monstrosity that is Virus Buster Serge. Listen as they get distracted talking about Bentley Jones, crop tops, and Brain Lizards... basically anything to keep them from discussing this beautiful train wreck.

This week one of KRF's closest friends, Rika, joins the podcast to talk all about a starkly different fighting game from last episode - Fatal Fury. How closely do the OVA's follow the games and how wildly different is the movie from the source material. All this and more (the "more" here being mostly talking about boobs) in this weeks episode on the entire animated Fatal Fury franchise!

We're back full on with bi-weekly episodes about some of the most nostalgic anime ever! For the season two premier, the crew of the Saturday Morning Squad podcast are here to help me stay out of a negative place (as best as one can watching this), announce their last will and testament (in case this trainwreck of a movie kills us), and maybe just learn a little bit about the anime fandom of Australia (Oooh! She's educational). We are going to be taking a look at the 90s anime cringe staple Tekken The Motion Picture. Either you hate it, or we need to study you for science. 

We are BACK! To get everyone geared up for Season Two of Ancient Anime, we are starting off with a bang! Recently, Youtube documentary extraordinaire RayMona released a nearly four hour two-part series uncovering the truth behind the notorious "Saban Moon" music video that has been circulating around anime conventions and fan circles for years. After a ton of hard work, she was able to find the lost FULL pilot episode. Together with fellow life-long Moonie Dame Scarlet Aznable, we dive into 101 "what if" scenarios as we wade through the emotional trauma that is this Saved By The Bell meets She-Ra mashup.  

KRF is going solo this week to talk about his favorite anime franchise of all time - Slayers. Tag along as he completely derails every train of thought, dives way too deep into the lore of how every character is connected, and make a direct reference to Designing Women. This episode has it all!

KRF is back at it, this time bringing along Vtuber and long-time video game enthusiast Komi! This week they dive into the 90s Sonic OVA, a 50(ish) minute romp through pre-2000s glowup sonic. The two of them take on hard hitting questions like why are there cat girls in the sonic universe? Why is there so much exposition? And most importantly -- Who's idea was it to give Knuckles a cowboy hat (because we want to praise you). Come be just as confused as they are this week on Ancient Anime! 

Another week, another ancient anime... or is it? The gang goofed this week and chose something post 2000, but that shouldn't matter too much because it is the Ghibli masterpiece The Cat Returns. Join KRF and Nuri as they shoehorn in topics of Ferngully, how gay men and gay women can unite under one front, and just how little our hosts know about actual cats.

Nuri is back as our semi-permanent co-host just in time to go back to 1970 and waste days with plot points we will never follow up on. Neither she nor KRF really can put their finger on what makes this movie so... unique. Is it the confusing set up, the glaring plot holes, or is it that this may be the most phoned in time travel movie of all time? Listen to find out. Except maybe they don't know either. 

Joined again by friend of the show Ramses, KRF takes a look at Hayao Miyazaki's first venture into full length film featuring the world's most charismatic thief. Through discussions of disguises, misdirections, and the idea of a death being scarier the less that is shown, these two fumble their way through the vaguely Italian land of Cagliostro and uncover all of it's secrets -- including those the main character forgot to tell them!

Nuri (@nurihyau) joins host KamenRiderFurry to talk about the gayest-not-gay movie from the 90s, Sailor Moon's first movie, Promise of the Rose. They talk about Mamoru/Darien's ex boyfriend, why Fiore looks so "familiar", and how exactly Sailor Moon got KRF banned from the internet. 

This week, friend of the show Ramses (From the Saint Seiya Cosmocast) joins KRF for a look at the mind blowing (literally) epic journey through a post apocalyptic world with literally zero context. It's Fist of the North Star The Movie this week on Ancient Anime, and chances are you'll be just as confused as they are. 

Host KamenRiderFurry tackles the extremely nostalgic fan-favorite film "Pokemon: The First Movie" and goes through scene by scene to find out if this movie holds up in 2022 or if the box office receipts were directly proportional to kids wanting all of the cards from watching it in theaters. (Spoiler alert: KRF got none of the cards somehow.)
