Evensong for All Souls 2021
Welcome to our online service of Evensong for the Feast of All Souls. Our service is led by Brian de Looze, Joanna Brown reads the lessons, Elaine Avery leads the intercessions and Derek Griffin is our Cantor. The preces and responses are sung by the remotely-recorded Parish choir and the remaining musical elements of the service are performed by Tricia Rees-Jones who was also the producer.
It is traditional at this service to remember those who are dear to us but who have departed this life. The service includes a Prayer by John Donne and the anthem 'I know that my Redeemer liveth' from Handel's Messiah and you are invited to use that time to reflect and remember those who rejoice with us, but upon another shore and in a greater light.

Choral Evensong 5 September 2021
Welcome to our online service of Choral Evensong for the 14th Sunday after Trinity. We are delighted that this is a recording of a live service which took place at St Laurence's, East Harptree; the first live, relatively normal (albeit socially distanced), choral evensong since March 2020.
Our service is led by Elaine Avery, who also leads our intercessions, and the readers are Janet Jones and Tricia Rees-Jones. The cantor is Derek Griffin and the choir is led by Tricia Rees-Jones who also plays the piano.
The anthem is a setting of the well-known hymn 'Be Still for the Presence of the Lord' by David Evans and arranged by Richard Shephard and the closing voluntary is the middle movement 'Andante' from the Italian Concerto by J S Bach.

Evensong for 5th Sunday of Trinity, 4 July 2021
Welcome to our online service of Evensong for the 5th Sunday after Trinity.
The service was recorded live in the churchyard of St Laurence's East Harptree (complete with much local bird and insect life as you will hear) and was the first live service with choral singing in the Parish since March 2020; a very special event.
The service is led by Mary Cookson who also leads the intercessions, the readers are Barry Rider and Jill Broadhead and the cantor is Derek Griffin. The choir is directed from the keyboard by Tricia Rees-Jones who also recorded and produced the service. Special credit should also be given to the local blackbird population who have joined their songs to ours as the choir have rehearsed outside for the past few weeks as covid regulations have allowed.

This is a very special service as it marks the first time for 14 months that the choir have been able to meet in person - socially distanced - to record the choral sections of the service. Our monthly services of Evensong and Compline will continue online for the time being with the next service (Evensong for the Feast of Corpus Christi - transferred) on Sunday 6 June.
Our service is led, as he has for the last 8 months, by the Reverend Trevor Stubbs to whom we offer our grateful thanks as well as everyone who has contributed as a reader or leading our prayers.
