five steps to life in your growth zone
i’ve been known to be the queen of the comfort zone. after my trauma, i spent hours of my day creating a space that was comfortable for me to exist in. and i firmly believe there’s a time and place for the often seemingly stagnant practice of healing. there are many reasons to stay in your comfort zone (i’ll get to that in the next few weeks – this is important, too!)
but comfort zones aren’t ideal places for growth. in fact, discomfort is the only path to growth. the hard things, the weird things, the nerve-wracking things, the scary things – those things are the things that exist in your growth zone.
today i share with you five steps to moving from your comfort zone to your growth zone to help you get out of that funk (and fear) that's keeping you stagnant.

stepping into your feminine energy
i once saw energy described like this: masculine energy gives, and feminine energy receives. i had a really difficult time processing this, i won't lie. everything i had known to be true in my life seemed so opposite of this. we live in a masculine dominant society, and they didn't always seem like givers to me.
but what i was seeing was masculinity that was unbalanced. i use to imagine masculine and feminine to be based on interests and not character traits and energies. what felt like misalignment in my gender identity at times was actually an imbalance in my energy. balancing energies is what gives us the most clarity in following our intuition. our souls crave balance.
feminine energy is associated with stillness, nighttime, intuition, creativity, feelings, and senses. it is the greater yang energy. it is all about reception. it is entirely based around learning how to be. stepping into your feminine energy is all about opening yourself to receive.
ways to awaken your feminine energy:
- relaxing
- slowing down
- going with the flow
- opening yourself to being more receptive
- not having plans
- not going anywhere or doing anything
- dancing
- aesthetically pleasing things and atmospheres
- free days
- creating
- activating your senses
there are ways to have healthy and unhealthy energy, but stepping into your feminine energy will bring upon enlightenment, gentleness, and peace.
all love, all light

2020 life update + what I'm carrying with me into 2021
2020 was an absolute shit show. for pretty much everyone. but i'm really trying to celebrate the fact that we made it through - and the fact that even though everything is a shit show and a half, i somehow seem to have also made some pretty significant life-altering decisions and started to pursue my highest self. think of this as my 2020 holiday card, but make it virtual :) i'm SO glad you're here. thanks for listening! xoxo
episode 10 // navigating the holidays + taking care of yourself, too
i'm baaaaack! long time, no see! i've been working on some really cool things to relaunch my podcast this winter, but i really wanted to spend some time talking about the holidays. this was pretty impromptu, but the holidays are so difficult for so many people. i really wanted to get this one out before christmas so people could find a little solace and maybe learn a thing or two to help them as they maneuver the holidays this year and in years to come! happy christmas eve eve!! thanks for listening! xoxoxo
episode 09 // the truth about self care + the value of a gyst day

episode 08 // giving yourself what you need
just like our body heals itself after we scrape our skin or find a bruise, we are also capable of doing things to proactively heal ourselves from the conditioning we were raised into, the experiences we go through, and the loss we inevitably encounter at some point in our lives. whether it's losing a loved one, going through a breakup, or experiencing traumatic incidents in life (plot twist: all can be traumatic and our bodies will respond as such, whether we want it to or not), we all have things we need to heal from. learning to give ourselves what we need is a huge step in this process. thanks for listening! xoxoxo

episode 06 // trauma informed care + how it will make you a better friend
CONTENT WARNING: sexual assault
it's sexual assault awareness month, and i wanted to share with you my story and how healing is possible. because it is. but i went to share, and it didn't align. it didn't feel right in my soul to share with you how my assault affected me. (you can read about it, though. i've written about it here and here.) so today i wanted to share with you the single most beneficial thing i've learned in my healing process and how it will make you a much better friend to the people in your life. and as an added bonus, at the end of the episode i am so excited to share with you a spoken word poem i had written last year during sexual assault awareness month. healing is possible, friends. i'm so grateful for you. thanks for listening! xoxoxo.

episode 04 // ego, intuition, + trusting your gut
have you ever tried to make a decision, but you're not sure which decision is the right one? we're always told to trust our gut - that our gut will never lead us astray. but what the hell does that even mean? i hope these tips prove helpful as you react to the things that come into your life. listening to your inner voice and learning to trust your gut will always bring you to a place of peace and clarity. i hope all the goodness in the world for you as you take your next steps forward. may you always follow your gut. xoxoxo.
