Don Leo & Making a Difference
Hello my friends! Today's wine is the magical Don Leo 2019 Cabernet Shiraz blend from the legend himself, Francisco Rodriguez Gonzalez! He is the best enologist in Mexico and he was kind enough to share 3 bottles of wine with me. It was a pleasure being part of the Mexico International Wine Competition and I am blown away at the quality, expressiveness and umami character of this wine. Also, take part in a small meditation to land in our bodies and use our breath as a vessel of hope, to move forward with strength, grace and solidarity.

Understand the winemaking process of these fascinating wines, the history and how they have been able to rejuvenate the category among drinkers of all ages. It wouldn't be wellness if we didn't go into the shadows of our grief and discussing why it's so important to feel these feelings and come back stronger, resilient and ready to take action.

Forlorn Hope & Not Fitting In
Today's episode is about the misfits- the rebels-the people that don't fit in the patriarchy box! Hell yes to Forlorn Hope and their mission of growing underdog varietals and making misfit wines from their glorious site in Calaveras County in the Sierra Foothills. Limestone soils and 2000 meters bring a natural acidity, brilliant aromatics and an off-the-beaten-path attitude. If you like mainstream wines, chances are these aren't for you! Bleeding Hearts & How to Taste like a Somm
My loves, this is a tasty episode! Today we are discussing the Science of Sensory and why it is so important to have a mindful approach when it comes to wine tasting. I truly believe that everyone can be their own expert wine taster! 'How to Taste like a Somm' is budding into a 2-hour class that will be taught for the first time in April and I share an overview of how the class will be structured. No wine today, just coffee for this bleeding heart because this budding entrepreneur is working hard and shedding stale, limiting beliefs to in turn become better at the job but also better at life. Wine and wellness can truly go hand in hand.
Humility, The Ripple Effect & The Brilliant Lingua Franca Chardonnay
Lingua Franca is the universal language that connects us all. It is from the Jory soils of Eola-Amity and the 66-acre Larry Stone vineyards in the gorgeous Willamette Valley. This Estate Chardonnay 2018 has Asian pear, night blooming jasmine, tangerine skins and oyster shells that bring brilliance, finesse and decadence to the table. Larry Stone is one hell of a guy, and he and his Burgundian team has created the most dynamic wines in Oregon. Today's zen is maybe not so zen because we have to honor the humility of owning our triggers and reactions. In this episode we feel the anguish that is human suffering. Their problem is our problem. We feel and breathe together because it's an extraordinary time to be alive. If we have the luxury of wine then we have the necessary path to keep showing up in love, joy and our best selves. One moment at a time.
Free From Fear with French Malbec
Today's episode is possibly a tad lighter than the rest! Fun, everyday French Malbec and the family business reminds us to live free from fear by living our true nature and knowing that we are infinite. Chateau les Croisille Silice 2019 is a rustic, coffee driven, tart cherry kind of wine with cloves and great acidity to boot. From Iron rich and sandy clay the wine was brought up in 6 months tank and 6 months in oak barrel. Kat discusses the ways we live free from fear- it starts with accepting and loving this messy life!! Cheers to you and the beautiful being you are. Cheers!

Taking Up Space with Wafflart Blanc de Noirs
Accepting ourselves for all our parts is a process of unlearing, setting boundaries and taking time to take care and take up space. In this episode, it's Kat's birthday weekend so she reflects on the miracles that have come her way and exciting new projects that have come through. She also examines the 'why' behind her striving and realizes that when we come from a place of insecurity, things don't run smooth. Taking up space means leveraging the wisdom and power that is all around us, including this stunning Wafflart Antoniolli Blanc de Noirs Champagne! It's the perfect birthday wine, so I invite you to open something fantastic this weekend. Let's cheers and honor the beautiful life we get to live.
Manifesting Miracles with Matthiason Cabernet
Want to attract more miracles in your life? Well this is the episode for you! Gaining so much inspiration from Matthiason Napa Valley Cabernet 2018, where hippies and Napa collide. Also offered in this episode is 5 tangible steps to bring miracles into your life every.single.day. Happy manifesting my winos!
My Tool Story with Caduceus Primer Paso
My friends, the Tool journey began 21 years ago in San Diego on Halloween night. It continues today with the sweet and heavy sounds of Maynard James Keenan. Maynard expresses his creativity with many arms of his entrepreneurship and we revel in the journey. My own journey of serendipities is a trip and worth sharing, too! Cheers to Tool and Caduceus Cellars.
The Anti-Resolution with Mayacamas Chardonnay
We are one week into the new year and guess what, and it's still true that healing and human-ing is not a linear path. In this episode Kat shares her journey through a depressing start to the year and how she managed to turn her gray into finding more ways to express joy, love and creativity. Through her curations she realized that the mundane moments of life carry the most punch. The epiphany that there is not epiphany or perfect life to come. In this moment is where the magic lies! And what other magical wine than Mayacamas Chardonnay! We love this Mount Veeder Chardonnay from high elevation Napa. Welcome high-volume intensity with bright tropical, orchard and white blossoms. Hungary is taking it's rightful place in the world of wine and just like them, we should too! Knowing your own worth is so important in living a life of wellness and vitality.
