A SuccessFULL Life with Guest Samantha Steward

A SuccessFULL Life with Guest Samantha Steward

Success in real estate takes a huge investment of time and energy, especially in the beginning. But even in an established real estate practice, the work can be physically and mentally exhausting. Samantha Steward has cracked the code for staying balanced. She's a $20M producer, 40 under 40 winner, and on top of her real estate business she runs a spray tan business and is partners in a design/build firm. How does she fill up her soul tank so she consistently serves all her clients well?

Dogs.

When Sam is not elbows deep in one of her businesses she is fostering vulnerable dogs from high kill shelters and finding them forever homes. Yes, it's also a lot of work, but Sam says she gets more than she gives, and it provides the energy and escape she needs to always show up her best at work.

Ditch the Drama, Part 2: When YOU Are the Jerk

Ditch the Drama, Part 2: When YOU Are the Jerk

If you missed last week's Ditch the Drama, Part 1: Dealing with Jerks, go back and give it a listen. I talked about why some people are jerks, how that’s bad for business, and how to comfortably navigate your interactions with jerks and keep your cool. What we didn't talk about was how YOU are the jerk sometimes.

The good news is that when you're the jerk you have a lot more control over turning the situation around. The bad news is it's a hard skill to learn. But if you're dead serious about being successful AND happy in your work, it's worth the effort. Tune in and I'll show you how!

It's easy to think that happy, successful people live some kind of charmed life, but the truth is bad things happen to everyone. The difference is in how we respond. Evan Walsh takes the sh!t that life hands him and composts it. He's a RealTrends perennial achiever, holds the #1 spot in the state for William Raveis, and is the leader of one of the most well-respected real estate teams in the suburban Boston market. In this episode Evan shares about his bad business calls, the suffocating pressure high-stakes real estate deals, and in his greatest challenge yet, facing a Stage 3 cancer diagnosis. Execution: Getting It All Done with Guest Megan Ferris

This week we sit down with Megan Ferris, partner at Ferris Property Group in Indianapolis, IN. In addition to managing recruiting and retention at the firm, she is a mother of 4, wife, active agent, real estate flipper, podcaster, and borderline hoarder of animals. She confesses to having a real problem with the word 'No', yet she gets all of her work done in less than 35 hours a week and still has plenty of time for her family, Netflix, and naps. HOW?? (No, she's not a witch.) Tune in to hear the 3 principles Megan uses to manage her time and productivity like a ninja, and for bonus content on obscure amphibians and mild blasphemy. @meganferris3 @boomrealestatepodcast

It's Ok to Not Be Ok, with guest Chelsea Peitz

It's Ok to Not Be Ok, with guest Chelsea Peitz

Our goal on the podcast is to make real estate the happiest industry in the world. She didn't know it, but recently Chelsea Peitz made herself part of this crusade. A high-profile influencer in the real estate marketing space and author of multiple books including What to Post, Chelsea struggled silently for years with debilitating mental illness. She recently opened up about her journey, mostly to unburden herself and maybe connect with a few people. She was not prepared for the overwhelming response she got from people even at the highest places in the industry. Her act of courage was a huge first step toward normalizing mental illness in our industry and empowering us to address it.

Productivity in a Pandemic, Part 2

Productivity in a Pandemic, Part 2

I’m obsessed with the idea of what we do when there’s nothing to do. I also have a theory about what it’s really going to take to get you cranking out more and better work while you are confined to your casa.

Productivity In a Pandemic

Productivity In a Pandemic

Entrepreneurs and introverts everywhere rejoiced at the schedule-freeing effects that social distancing would have on them. But the honeymoon quickly ends, and we are left with no structure and no promise of it in the near future. Rather than freeing up creatives to ‘be the boss of me’ this can paralyze us and decimate productivity. It’s even more dangerous if you’ve got school-age or college kids in the house with you (which I do). How do you get anything done and preserve family harmony at the same time?? Listen in for the strategies we are using, then send me comments about your strategies.
