27: Put the Bedtime Stalling to Bed
"Mommy, I have a question."
"I'm thirsty. Can I have some water."
"I need to go to the bathroom. Again."
It's the classic tale of bedtime stalling -- doing anything and everything to prevent the onset of bedtime. But it doesn't have to be this way every night. In this episode, I walk you through 3 steps that you can take to put the bedtime stalling to bed, one of which includes this freebie -- The Bedtime Pass.

26: Can Attachment Parenting and Sleep Training Co-exist?
It seems like attachment parenting and sleep training are always pitted against each other -- as if ensuring your child gets the best sleep possible can't possibly exist with a secure, loving attachment.
Well, I call B.S.
In this episode, we define attachment parenting and sleep training, and talk about how they can live together. What would it look like to respond to your child's needs while sleep training? How can you instill independence in your child while ensuring they feel confident and secure?
These are all things we talk about in this episode!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this episode, so please find me on Instagram and shoot me a message!
25: How to Make Bathtime More Fun for Your Toddler

24: Helping Older Kids Feel Secure in Their Room
As I shared in the last episode, growing up, I didn't have a great relationship with sleep.
After a few traumatic events (including waking up outside in the middle of the night), going to sleep terrified me.
The truth is, your older kid may not feel safe in their room for a number of reasons, and that can prevent them from getting the sleep they need. In this episode, I'm sharing a few tips to get your brain gears turning to think through ways to help your older kid feel more secure in their room.
If you want to sit down together and create a game plan, message me on Instagram and we can set something up!
23: My Story + Considerations for Older Kid Sleep
Today I'm sharing my story! No, not about how I became a sleep consultant, but about my relationship with sleep as a child.
Many children deal with anxiety or fears around sleep, and I get it. It's hard.
Knowing what your child is dealing with and seeking out help for them can make a world of difference for years to come.
Thank you so much for listening in!

21: What are you doing for you?
In this episode, we’re not talking about child sleep much. Instead, we’re talking about some thing that’s been sitting on my mind and heart recently — your mental health.
I am not a medical mental health professional, and this podcast is not loaded with steps to decrease your anxiety or improve your mental health. Rather it’s a raw, unscripted talk about how I’ve struggled and a few things that have helped me.
The most important thing I hope you take away from this episode is that it's okay to put your needs first sometimes.
In fact, it's essential.

20: The 4-month Sleep Regression
What is the 4-month sleep regression and how is it different than any of the other regressions your child may face?
In this episode, we're talking about it all.
- What is a regression
- What can you expect during a regression
- How the 4-month regression is different than the others
If you're the kind of person who likes to know when the regressions may occur, this free regression survival guide is for you. And if you are thinking, "Katie, it doesn't matter if my child hits a regression or not, because their sleep is atrocious," then my 1:1 services are for you.

19: Three Steps to Get Your Child to Sleep in Their Crib
And whether you're ready to move them to their own room or just put them in a crib in your room, it can sometimes be a hard adjustment for your little one. And let's be real...hard for you, too.
In today's episode, I'm going to provide you with three simple steps you can take today to help your little one begin the transition from sleeping anywhere to sleeping in their crib.
Note: I use the term "crib," but this can apply to a bassinet or a toddler bed. All of the steps will help with getting your child to sleep in a new location.
Be sure to follow me on Instagram, where I provide sleep tips daily.
18: Teething and Its Impact on Sleep
Teething is often blamed for a multitude of sleep issues. But is it fair to do so? Does teething actually impact your child's sleep?
Short answer: yes.
In this episode, we'll talk about:
- How to identify whether your child is teething.
- What you can do to help ease teething pain.
- How long teething will last/impact sleep.
If you're curious about how teething and regressions go hand-in-hand, you'll love my free Regression Survival Guide, which will give you an overview of all of the sleep regression on the horizon for your little one.

17: Can you take one step forward today?
Fair warning: In this episode, we're not getting into baby sleep.
Lately, I've felt stuck in a season of overwhelm. So much to the point of inaction. Laundry is piling up. Dishes are disgusting. I just can't even take action to start because of how much work it will take to complete.
Last week, I saw a post on Facebook that told a little story about a woman who found a mindset shift. Instead of focusing on the entire task, she focused on just the start.
I've adopted that mindset and it's helped pull me from the overwhelm and has given me the "roadmap" for just starting.
If you have found yourself in a similar rut, please listen to this episode, and then find me on Instagram and tell me what step forward you're taking today.
16: Why do infants cry during sleep training?
It's the big question: Is sleep training bad for my baby? And if it's not, then why are they crying?
I get down into the WHY behind the tears. In no way am I saying sleep training is the only way. But if it is for your family, it's not bad. Or wrong. I mention two studies in this episode, and you can find those here:

09: What to expect when working with a sleep consultant
It's no secret that I believe sleep can be life changing. And just as some families may benefit from a lactation consultant, a doula, or a newborn care specialist, some families may benefit from a sleep consultant partnering with their family.
But what can you expect when you hire a consultant?
While all consultants are different, in this episode, I share a few commonalities you'll find when you partner with any sleep consultant.

07: Naps and Holiday Meals (Holiday Bonus)
Thanksgiving is this Thursday in the US, and I know many families will be gathering for a family lunch or dinner. But what if your child's nap falls right when the turkey is being carved?
In this episode, I provide a few suggestions on how to approach this scenario. The biggest takeaway I hope you get: do what is right for your family.
06: Family doesn't agree with your child's sleep plan?
As the holiday season approaches, you may be planning on traveling to visit family or hosting family members who come to town. And with that, you're bound to be in a situation where someone in your family says one of the following statements about your child:
-Why do you care so much about their sleep?
-Oh, come on. Just let them stay up later.
-I didn't do that with you, and you turned out fine.
If you’re here, chances are, you care about your child sleeping well. And when you’re in a situation with people who don’t have the same philosophy or understanding of sleep, it can be tense.
In this episode, I will share three pieces of encouragement for when you encounter family who don't agree with your choices when it comes to your child's sleep.
