I Have SO Many Opinions

I Have SO Many OpinionsJun 14, 2021
S3:E12 Hopelessly Flailing at Flirting With Vail
On this episode: We somehow discuss the "free the nipple" movement, and whether or not pushup bras are as ubiquitous as they once were. Vail truly showcases her charisma while she leads Peter by the nose, and unfortunately for SUR's resident manager, we learn that he has ZERO game. Doute refuses to let to the Sandoval in Miami rumors go, and plots to bring the woman in question to SUR. And finally, Katie Maloney grows a backbone and defends herself against Stassi's accusations of betrayal. Grab a bottle of wine (if you're not on a date) and buckle up!
Disillusioned Dons and Toxic Masculinity: A Classic Rock Showdown
Welcome to our Boomer Classic Rock Showdown. On this episode we welcome Danny, from Case and a Couch, to debate two titans of 70s Rock. In one corner we have The Bullies who'll steal your lunch and fuck chicks: The Eagles. In the other the we have Yacht Rock's Most Virtuosic Nerds: Steely Dan. We talk about their ubiquitousness, the way they've both (at turns) been intensely maligned and re-embraced by popular culture, the way both bands make us feel, and ultimately debate their legacy. Listen to find out which band reigns supreme. Buckle Up!
S3:E11 The King of Homosexual Overtones
On this episode, Katie finally accepts how alike she and Vail are. We riff on shoe sizes, and reminisce over the perils of drinking Bacardi 151. Jax, Sandoval, and Kristen deliver some shockingly real moments in Miami; but as always, Kristen learns the EXACT wrong lesson. And finally, Stassi continues to freeze Katie Maloney out over an imagined betrayal. Don't forget your penis straws, and buckle up!
Julien Baker, "Little Oblivions," (2021), Review
This is a fun one ya'll. On this episode Ben and Katie review the latest album of indie savant Julien Baker. Topics include: the generalizability of an indie vocal, whether or not an album needs a set narrative, and somehow devolves into a meditation on the general aesthetics of Catholicism in music. Get ready to feel some type of way, and buckle up!
S3:E10 Miami Vices
The SUR crew, minus Stassi, head to the East Coast for week-long bachelor-bachelorette party. Scheanna holds court over the general dysfunction as Vail continues to be drawn to Jax's poisonous personality. Kirsten lurks and schemes while casting a bitter side-eye towards Sandoval and Ariana as everyone indulges in bottle service.
Taylor Swift, "Fearless (Taylor's Version)," (2021)
We're back with what else but a review of Fearless (Taylor's Version)! Katie and Ben discuss Taylor's badass power move to control her art, how this album compares to the original recording (what's different, what's the same etc.)and how we feel about the songs released from the vault (someone's a fan, and we bet you know who), and somehow go on side tangent about Hamilton. Put on your best little black dress, and buckle up! **Let the tapes show that Katie knows what she says when she says it : p (listen on to find out more).
S3:E9 A Shit Ton of Banging
In perhaps our most chaotic episode, Katie calls this episode of VPR “breezy, but fun,” and comes for the “Jax-truthers” out there. We also note that to our knowledge, Katie and Ben have never been a second-tier wedding invite (knock on wood, friends), and talk about amateurs who attempt to flex by ordering bottle service at the club. The boys live it up in San Diego on Jax’s girlfriend’s dime, Schi-schue and Katie Maloney call a truce (much to Stassi’s chagrin), and T-Sandy is having none of Jax mother fucking Taylor’s shit. Buckle Up!
S3:E8 When You Take a Shot at the King...
On this week’s episode, Katie and Ben vamp on myriad subjects (see: Shania Twain and Mutt Lange’s relationship, and the super-producers of the late aughts). James and Kristen are somehow in the right for one hot second while they vie for a spot at Schi-shue’s Miami bachelorette party, but stay tuned until the end of the episode. Katie Maloney and Schwartzy enter couples therapy, while Jax shows a surprising amount of emotional intelligence, and a meandering episode ends with a spectacular Sandoval v. James and Doute showdown.
S3:E7 When Your Puppy Pisses on the Floor...
How involved should anyone get in their friends relationships? If you're one Stassi Schroeder, the answer is a whole helluva lot. Ben and Katie discuss the pitfalls of inserting yourselves in your friends love lives, remain flabbergasted at Schwartz's continued affection for Jax mother fucking Taylor, Jax lusts over new girl Vail, and K-Doute turns last episode's win into a spectacular loss.
S3:E6 Sex, Lies, and Tray Passing
Ben and Katie debate the merits of having a more produced “reality” tv show, Schwartz continues his streak of taking Ls for the season, and our boys must deign to tray pass at Lisa’s “50 Gay Mayors Party.” Sneak your champagne without breaking the glasses, and buckle up!
S3:E5 I'll Take a Pinot Grigio
This week Katie and Ben discuss the nature of pet ownership in relationships, analyze the power struggle between SUR's Queen Bee and the Queen of Beverly Hills, and finally break down why Schwartzy is an incredibly bad boyfriend (even if he seems like a fairly committed friend). Grab your chilled bottle of Pinot Grigio, and buckle the f*ck up!
S3:E4 Petty Little Things
On this week's episode: Katie and Ben break down the perils of Jax's plastic surgery, weigh in on the pains of eyebrow grooming, and discuss the poorly aged conversations surrounding mental health and Schwartz's panic attack. Ben thinks is the best episode yet, so grab your Pumptini and buckle up!
S3:E3 The Grand PUMP-ening
Lisa has a new club on the streets of WeHo and it is time to get PUMPed. The SUR crew revolves around this monumental event. Schwartz finds himself firmly in that chaos as Stassi & Scheana class over tweets. Meanwhile, James is having trouble coming to grips with his recent firing and Jax is well, Jax.
S3:E2 James and the Giant Consequences
Enter: Kristen Doute
Friends, Romans, listeners, lend me your ears;
I come to fire James, not to praise him.
The evil that Sur-vers do lives after them;
The good is oft interred with their pinot grigio;
So let it be with James. The noble Sandoval
Hath told you James was ambitious:
If it were so, it is a grievous fault,
And grievously hath James answer’d it.
Here under the leave of Sandoval and the rest—
For Sandoval is an honourable Sur-ver;
So they are all honourable Sur-vers
Come I to speak at James’ firing.
He was my fuckboy, faithful and just to me:
And Sandoval is an honourable man.
He hath brought many diners home to Sur
Whose ransoms did Lisa’s coffers fill:
Did this in James seem ambitious?
When the people of We-Ho hath cried, James hath wept:
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff:
Yet Sandoval says he was ambitious;
And Sandoval is an hourouable man.
You did all see that at Sur
I thrice presented him free goat cheese balls
Which he did thrice refuse: was this ambition?
Yet Sandoval says he was ambitious;
And, sure, he is an honourable Sur-ver.
I speak not to disprove what Sandoval spoke,
But here I am to speak what I do know.
You all did love him once, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then, to mourn for him?
O judgement! Thou art fled to salty sandbags,
And Sur-vers have lost their reason. Bear with me;
My heart is at the bottom of the bottle there with James,
And I must pause till it come back to me.
S3:E1 Vanderbrawl
Reunited and it feels so goOOOooood! Welcome back, gals and guys, to Season 3 of I Have SO Many Opinions. Katie and Ben hop back on their mics to break down the season 3 premiere of our beloved VPR. Let’s just say, the more things change, the more they stay the same—even if Schi-shue asserts that “it’s all happening,” now. We’re introduced to our new favorite character to hate, DJ James Kennedy: a villain who for good or for ill will become a Sur standard bearer. Annnnnd HBIC Stassi makes her triumphant return, before we even knew she left…Join us as we analyze the this season’s table setting, friends turned to lovahs, and argue about who hosts the Food Network classic “Chopped.” Buckle up!
Taylor Swift, "evermore," (2020) Review
T-Swift won’t quit, and neither will we! Welcome back to another bonus-sode of the pod! We bring Holland back on mic to review evermore, Swift’s ninth studio album. We debate Swift’s song-writing cred, discuss the pitfalls of fandom, and give our many opinions on Taylor’s second surprise album of 2020.
Bonus-sode! Fiona Apple, "Fetch the Bolt-cutters," (2020), Review
Welcome back to another bonus-sode! This time we review another widely acclaimed quarantine album, Fetch the Bolt-cutters by the ever incisive Fiona Apple. We discuss the album’s percussive strangeness, it’s musical motifs, and ultimately why we found it so easy to get lost in. Naturally, we had to compare this album to T-Swift’s folklore. Tune in to see how they compare!
S2:E15 The Tears of Kristen
We’ve come to the end of the dramatic season, and now it’s time to explore the rich text that is VPR’s Season 2 Reunion. Andy Cohen flaunts a feisty beard, Sandoval and Kristen hash out the grisly details of their toxic relationship, and we see, not one, but TWO dramatic walk-offs. Katie and Holland give out our Season 2 awards, and discuss their favorite Real Housewives franchises! Grab a Skinny girl Margarita, and enjoy the ride.
Halloween Bonus: Night of 1000 Opinions
Welcome gals and ghouls (or wolves and kittens?) to a spooky bonus-sode! On our special Halloween episode Ben and Katie discuss their dealings with the supernatural, haunted houses, and experiences with the Occult. Grab your favorite witches’ brew and listen along! Buckle up!
S2:E14 The Hand of Sandoval
We’ve come to the end of VPR season 2! Tears are shed, lies come undone, punches are thrown, and more than one staffer loses their clothes. What does it look like to do the best you can to honor the relationship you once had? We discuss season 2’s denouement, Ben’s predictions for season 3, and Katie introduces a new segment: Katie’s Podcast Corner. Raise a glass to freedom!
S2:E13 The Hand of Stassi
In this supersized episode, we welcome Holland back to pod to discuss all things VPR and to break down the wild mechanics of Stassi’s public shaming of her former best friend. Tangents abound as we discuss the power of Drive’s soundtrack, terrifying Uber rides, and Jax’s hard turn into a remorseless sociopath. Grab a glass of red, and buckle the f*ck up! *Warning: We briefly discuss domestic violence in this episode as well (34:37-39:32).
S2:E12 Cute Engagements and the Wrath of Krazy Kristen
A palette cleanser of an episode—season 2 of VPR takes its deep breath before the lights-out showdown to come. Katie and Ben discuss Lisa’s ultimate dominance in delivering one-liners, the sweet-nerdiness of Shay’s proposal to Scheana, and we get a reveal that actually surprises Ben. Can the episode retain its sense of lightness and personal growth for our SUR-vers? Not if Krazy Kristen has anything to say about it…..Buckle up, my friends.
S2:E11 The Cabo Sh!tshow, La Segunda Parte
The crew attempts to recover what’s already been a dramatic birthday trip to Cabo—to little avail. The drama continues on Stassi’s f*cking birthday as rumors resurface, ultimatums are given, and Jax continues to be an absolute shitbird. Ben and Katie comment on the hypocrisy of the A-team, how to do handle friends stuck in a bad relationship, and the rise of Scheana. Three cheers for sweet revenge!
S2:E10 The Year of the Mean Girl?
Woo, buddy! What an episode. The SUR crew heads to Cabo for Stassi’s f*cking birthday! Scheana makes a comment that kicks off much of the episode’s drama, Jax is a snitch, and we talk about one cast member’s truly problematic behavior. Also, Ben has some newfound respect for an unlikely member of the cast, and inexplicably dubs 2013 the Year of the Mean Girl. Jump into your favorite piece of swimwear and listen along!
S2:E9 Killin' B's and Stealin' P's
In this week’s episode, the cast is potentially outdone by the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Season 4’s cast of RHOBH (Joyce, we barely knew ye) gives the SUR staff a masterclass in cattiness. The role of the VPR crew flips to viewer, and they excel as commentators on Lisa and her crew. Ben realizes that Jax can in fact be charming, Kristen is absolutely going off the rails, and we take a side tangent into our own dabbling with the occult. Grab your tarot deck, and tune in! #webespooky
S2:E8 A Study in Philandering Friends
Stassi’s hot on the case of Jax and Kristen’s potential misdeeds. But will her masterful (?) schemes give her the answers she’s looking for? Ben and Katie discuss an enjoyable romp of an episode while evaluating Stassi’s sleuthing skills. Also, Ben might just be revising his impression of the seemingly steady Peter. Grab your favorite brunch cocktail and listen along!
S2:E7 Will the Real Tequila Katie please Stand Up?
On today’s episode, Katie and Ben discuss the changing nature of grooming trends, an episode in search of a plot, a possible confirmation of Ben’s long-standing VPR theories, and most important to our trash tv consumption the introduction of “Tequila Katie!” Tune in to find out Ben and Katie’s thoughts on reality tv editing, and a bombshell of a rumor. Will the real T-Katie please stand up?
S2:E6 Angels Flying too Close to the Ground
Season two of VPR rolls into the WeHo Pride parade. While Sandoval, Jax, and the guys are looking angelic their relationships are heading somewhere south of Heaven. We also discuss whether pornstars are celebrities and the 2020 economy of adult filmmaking and the physiques of the resident VPR beefcakes.
Taylor Swift, "folklore," (2020) Review
Welcome gals and guys to our bonus-sode!! Dropped on you like our reigning song-writing queen dropped her eighth studio album on us in the middle of quarantine. We give our opinions on folklore, defend the song-writing cred of Jimmy Buffet, and bathe ourselves in T-Swift’s wistful and nostalgic mood. Grab your favorite cardigan and step into Taylor’s vibey-est album yet!

S2:E5 The Evil of Supplements and the Glory of Burlesque Birthdays
What would you do if your boss asked you to give a public burlesque dance for his birthday? Stay tuned for one of many questions Katie and Ben try to answer. Also, Jax has what seems like an honest health scare. Come for the drama. Stay for the mediocre Mexican beer and a bottle blender full of White Russians. You know you love us, xoxo.
S2:E4 The Queen Arrives, and Holland Returns
Katie & Ben are back to speak truth to power on some Vanderpump Rules. This episode, Ariana makes her VPR debut and Holland returns to stan her queen and possible crush. Of course, with the VPR crew, this means a whole bunch of new rumors and pettiness. But, that is why you watch. Come listen, and here our dissection of "Rumors."
S2:E3 Crying at the Pierce the Arrow Concert
Katie and Ben are back as the SUR crew heads to Lake Arrowhead for Sandoval's band to play a show and for Stassi to bring the Jax penance tour to her mom's house. Tattoos are revealed, fights are had, Katie and Ben discuss random other things because this episode of Vanderpump Rules wasn't all that great. But many laughs are had and stories are told. Check it out!!
S2:E2 A Nothingburger with a Side of Bad Tattoo
Katie and Ben are back, with the second episode of season two "Branded." Not a lot goes on in this episode, but we do find out that Katie is a Ride or Die friend and Ben knows some terrible people. Anyway, tune in to hear about the trials and tribulations of Ikea furniture, bad tattoo ideas, and what happens when things go wrong in the restaurant.
Season 2: Episode 1: Second Verse Same as the First? And Opinions on the State of the World
Katie and Ben are back for VPR's second season! It really seems like things have come almost full circle at SUR. Scheana is back at odds with the rest of the A-Team. Jax is circling around Stassi. Katie also has a bad hairdo. Still, we have so many opinions and discuss it all. We also close the show with our opinions on the events following the murder of George Floyd. #BlackLivesMatter
Episode 9: Reunion Blues
Katie & Ben wrap up season 1 of VPR with drinks and their thoughts on the reunion episode. This also brings the first Season of I Have So Many Opinions to an end. Please, let us know what you have thought about the journey thus far.
Episode 8: Jaxplained
Katie & Ben are joined this week by Holland to discuss the season finale of season 1. What will the end of the season reveal? It will reveal Jax.
Episode 7: For the Love of Someone Else
This week on Vanderpump Rules, honestly, not a lot happened. Thankfully Laura Leigh and Jax provided a bit of heat for Katie and Ben by which to warm their catty hearts.
Episode 6: Trousers Down and Atomic Melvins.
Kaite and Ben are back looking at episode 6 of Vanderpump Rules. Jax and LL go on a restaurant bathroom sex tour while Frank fucks around and gets fired on his day off. Another packed episode!
Episode 5: Methinks you might be one.
The crew is back at SUR, and the fallout has begun. Jax has decided to hook up with one of Stassi's friends, and Lisa resorts to a work meeting to try and diffuse the tension. How will Katie and Ben read this episode? Get yourself a nice glass of wine and listen along.
Episode 4: Viva SUR Vegas
The Crew heads to Vegas to celebrate Stassi's birthday. Chaos ensues, Ben & Katie discuss. It is as awesome as it sounds.
Episode 3: But DO you know Jax?
Kaite and Ben are back discussing E3S1 of VPR! Man, this is a scorcher of an episode. Is the SUR staff good friends or interesting friends and what does Frank know about Jax Taylor?
Episode 2: A Break Up or Just Another Day in the Life?
Things move pretty fast in VPR land. It is only the second episode and already star couple Jax & Stassi may be headed for a breakup. OH NO! How do Katie & Ben break this down? Only one way to find out, get yourself a cocktail and listen along.
