Episode 4: Passionate About Possibility Through ELLI 2021

In this episode, we talk to Rushton Hurley, Director of KCI's newest programs known as ELLI -- Emerging Leaders in Learning Innovation. Rushton paints the ELLI picture with clarity on who this program is the right fit for and what the larger impact of ELLI is on both the KCI community and the communities of our participants. As he states, "If people are going to care about what you say, they have to feel it with their heads and hearts."

Ep 3: Celebrating the KCI (maker)SPACE Program

The (maker)SPACE—Supporting Prototyping And Creativity in Education—program is designed for people who are interested in honing their maker skills and are seeking employment in fabrication laboratories and makerspaces within community centers, libraries, and educational settings. The program provides instruction and support for building models and prototypes, strategies to spark innovation and invention, and creative problem-solving and collaboration.

As part of the program, participants will complete all of the courses required to earn the CA State Certificate in Makerspace Coordination. This certificate— currently the only one in California that is state-approved—is ideal for classified and certificated personnel at school sites, community center volunteers and employees, librarians and assistants, and anyone interested in becoming a creative and collaborative member of a makerspace.

Listen in to learn more about the KCI CA State Certificate in Makerspace Coordination.

NOTE: Our next SPACE Cohort will launch in Spring, 2020 rather than the winter. Stay tuned for more details!
