RE-RELEASE - Episode 04 - Ghosts, Ouija & the Paranormal
STOP THE PRESSES! Kevin and Gerrit couldn't get together, so how's about a re-release? Episode 4 from way back in the day deserves to see the sunshine again. On this incredibly old episode, Kevin and Gerrit discuss ghosts and hauntings. Are they just fun stories? Or something more? Episode 53 - James Bond & How to Jump the Shark
Richard and Jarren are toast! Kevin and Gerrit are the hosts! And once again, it's a real barn-burner of an episode. Some COVID talk up front is shortened by the topic at hand - blockbuster and franchise films and how they can (and do) jump the shark. Yep, that's a Fonzie from Happy Days reference. Continuing their discussion about James Bond from the previous episode, the boys continue down the rabbit hole talking about that franchise as a whole. A sequel to this episode is next week, so stay tuned! Keep listening all the way to the end to hear Kevin and Gerrit's little sketch from years ago about the Pierce Brosnan James Bond film, "Die Another Day." They had a series on YouTube called "Making Fun of Movies." Another episode of season 3 in Quarantine Lockdown! Kevin (Richard) and Gerrit (Jarren) minimize their COVID talk in exchange for a huge stroll down memory lane with horror films and why we haven't had sequels to the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street franchises. Episode 31 - "Goddamnit, Mildred!"
We got a real crazy one on our hands! ASMR, Kanye West, a discussion about bread (the yeast kind), aging, s's - all these topics get touched on with hilarity. The Kerrit never lost its groove, and the proof is in the pudding! ... If you've been listening, you'll know that pudding is a sore subject around these parts. Episode 30 - The Room With Greasy George & Giant Johnny
Way back when, Gerrit and Kevin (you know, the Kerrit), recorded one episode of their first incarnation of the podcast called, "The Room with Greasy George & Giant Johnny." They had aliases, they were high, and they were shocking! This episode features these two listening to their sometimes cringe-worthy past-selves and commenting on what the hell they were thinking. There are lots of laughs, lots of "huh?!"s and a ton of talk about XXX 2 starring Ice Cube. Subscribe to The Kerrit on Facebook & Twitter for instant updates. SOMETHING SERIAL - Episode 2 - M:I 2 (Mission: Impossible, Part 2)
Part 2 of the Mission: Impossible franchise saw a turn in tone with director John Woo's... visionary... style? 2000 was absolutely an interesting year for all involved in the making of the first M:I sequel, and this episode of "Something Serial" is just as insane and entertaining (albeit actually good), as that movie is. In this episode, your hosts Gerrit Elzinga and Kevin McCarthy will expand your horizons in regards to Tom Cruise's career, marriage to Nicole Kidman, and just how crazy Mission: Impossible 2 really is. Your mission, should you choose to accept it - listen to Kevin and Gerrit as they deconstruct excruciating slow motion at break-neck speed. Episode 18 - Tom Brady = The Deflate-Gate ScapeG.O.A.T. (w/ Special Guest Robert Bell)
Super Bowl Sunday! This episode goes up just in time for the corporate holiday festivities. Does it serve as a distraction of sorts? We talk about other holidays in February and delve into some deep topics. Special guest Robert Bell, Kevin's friend from a past workplace at Ellis Parking and also a founder of Ready 2 Bee in Grand Rapids, joins the discussion about football and Tom Brady, Kevin Hart and his good stand-up vs. his bad movies, movie sequels and prequels, among so many other things. Also featured is a new proposed movie idea from Kevin & Robert! "Masters Is The New Black" is a movie all about crime and football - how fitting! This episode is super-duper fun, and super-duper funny. Fuck Trump by the way, and there's a tiny bit of commentary on that dumpster pile inside. Take a listen, won't you? Tell your friends! Star Wars & Daisy Ridley, the Dakota pipeline, movies (per usual) and Kanye West's arrogance and/or confidence are all mentioned too.

Episode 14 - Misinformation: Impossible
Well hey there! Sorry for the hiatus - life just kinda got a little hectic for us. We hope you've been well, and we hope you've missed our voices. This episode starts with a little sum up of Thanksgiving and the big political and sporting events from the past couple weeks/month, and our opinions on the matters. We didn't fact check (but hey, neither did someone else we know...), so feel free to correct us and call us on our bullshit. Gerrit goes in depth about record stores that take advantage of the customers, Kevin talks about his Clint Eastwood kick, and make sure you stick around until the very very end. Our microphone got wonky, so that audio is somewhat fixed and hidden at the end. Definitely something you won't want to miss. It's silly. It's goofy, It's The Kerrit.
