Ep. 72 - Mission K9 with Bob Bryant
This week I talk with Bob Bryant of Mission K9 Rescue. With Veterans Day approaching this was a fitting episode to talk about the animals that have served our country. However, Bob and I discuss how Mission K9 is working to give these animals the retirement they deserve. Mission K9 works to bring dogs back home after their service has ended overseas and then finds them the most appropriate home, whether it be with their former handler or another family. To learn more about Mission K9 and how you can support their work go to https://missionk9rescue.org or @missionk9rescue on social media.

Ep. 71 - Safe Pets of Shelby Humane
This week I talk with Sarah Hankins of the Safe Pet program with Shelby Humane in Alabama. We discuss the work they do to support people leaving domestic violence situations. Many people choose to stay in unsafe situations because they cannot take their pets with them. Safe Pets takes in these animals to care for them while their families get the support they need to leave and get safe. Once their families are back on their feet they are able to be reunited. Of the domestic violence shelters in Alabama, only three are able to take families with pets, highlighting the need for resources like Safe Pets. To learn more about the work they do and how you can support them visit https://www.shelbyhumane.org/safe-pet. If you are in Alabama and can foster animals in these situations, please reach out to Sarah to learn more about the process for becoming approved. As this is a unique situation, there are strict protocols that fosters must be able to follow.
