I also explain my advice on how students can prepare for their college education debt free and avoid taking out loans. I also mention tax-deferred college savings accounts that can be use for a minor. Throughout the episode, I mention custodial accounts, like The Uniform Gifts To Minors Act (UGMA) or The Uniform Transfers To Minors Act (UTMA) that adults can put in place for their minors before the assets can be transferred of legal age. Marquan Botley and I sat down and went into details on how you can develop a basketball training business. Marquan has experience playing basketball at the high school and college level. He also had the opportunity to play overseas. However, Marquan decided to focus on building his brand with basketball and coaching. He currently is an Player Development Coach for Lynn University and is the Co-Director for "Ball By Design". Marquan has become one of the top basketball trainers in South Florida. He trains about 35 players on his own and recently held his first Point Guard basketball camp in June. This episode of "The Principles" Podcast features Ahmad Springer. Barbershop Owner, Investor, Father, and a Visionary are some of the words to described this conversation. Ahmad discussed his journey with owning his first barbershop on the west side of Detroit, MI. His passion first started with football. Ahmad was an student athlete at Lindenwood University. He played sports for most of his life both at the high school and college level. Throughout college and now Ahmad has move into another passion with cutting hair. This episode describes Ahmad experiences working for TSA at the Detroit Metro Airport and his transition to owning his own barbershop "Blended Kutz". In 2020, Ahmad has recently added an clothing store called "Baggage Claim Boutique" where they offer high end street wear clothing. He also is the co-owner of "Afya Hair Solutions". Ahmad expressed how he came up with this idea and the products they will be launching soon. This episode shows the discipline and patience it took for Ahmad to walk in his path with entrepreneurship. It's a testimony of following in your purpose and doing what you love!
