👩🏫🌼 The magic of TAP: Growing our own educators!
Have you heard about TAP? Teaching as a Profession is a learning path that WSD embraces passionately. It is an opportunity to "grow our own pedagogues" from the ground up. This final episode of our WSD prep-casts will end on a wonderfully positive note as we congratulate and celebrate our TAP teachers and students. Bravo!! Thank you for "growing our own" wonderful, educators the Weber Way! If you are an adult and would like to leave a positive comment about a TAP teacher or student, please use this link: https://anchor.fm/kimberlee-irvine/message and we will include your comment as this goes out to WSD teachers and administrators. Or, if your are a student, you may use your WSD account to make an audio recording. This is super easy. 🎭🩸Shakespeare instruction: To be or not to be... Part 1
(This will be a two part series packed with new resources for teaching the Bard!)
Why should a student be interested in the writings of Shakespeare? We have some interesting, powerful guests today--including our own WSD Superintendent-- to discuss the importance and power of Shakespeare in the classroom and even some important points on how NOT to do Shakespeare in the classroom. We are mostly excited about the resource sheet today because it includes the new, exciting strategy of "Story Woosh." Here is a link to our resource sheet: https://bit.ly/3vFJMzd where you will find EVERYTHING you need to recreate this powerful strategy in your classroom.
Be sure to join us for episode 2 of this prep-cast for even MORE innovative, powerful resources!!

💪PTC epiphanies: The power of instructional transparency.
Welcome! Glad you're here.
Today's focus is about the importance of instructional transparency--letting the students know WHY they are learning something. I have included a link to our resource sheet here and in the email I sent out. It will ask you to make a copy of the document. I review these resources in the last segment of the Prep-Cast.

👩🏫🕵️♂️The best advice...
What was the best advice you have used successfully in your classroom? We are going to hear from a few very interesting people for this week's prep-cast. First, my retired husband the old, crusty, homicide detective. That may surprise you based on the focus this week, but you will LOVE his advice. It applies to every grade level and content area. Then, I have asked a few of our district leaders to discuss the most powerful advice they have used.
We will do this prep-cast again! This one was so powerful that I believe there is more wonderful "teaching" advice lurking out there. If you have something that changed your classroom, PLEASE send me a message and we'll do this again real soon.
⚡🦹♀️Engagement: 😈Wicked, sneaky ways to increase engagement EXPONENTIALLY!
Today's focus: quick easy ways to ensure student engagement! These tips and tricks are simple, quick ways to "jazz" up your current assignments to make them IRRESISTABLE for students to ignore!! Promise! Just a few tweaks and you will see more work turned in, better work turned in, and you may even see some surprising, happy "side effects" of authentic engagement.
Please stay tuned after the prep-cast if you are interested in the resources on the Resource Sheet.
