Her career spanned almost 30 years in state government and the nonprofit sector. In February 2019, she retired to fully pursue her long-time passion of entrepreneurship. Gwen and her daughter, Kristen, jointly run MD (Mother-Daughter) Publications, a Christian publishing company where passions become publications. In collaboration with another business partner, they also run the Ujamaa Collective - a print-on-demand business specializing in t-shirts, mugs, and other promotional items. She is also an Independent Consultant with Mary Kay.
In February 2021, tapped into her passion/Kindgom assignment, and founded the TreasureHer Network, an initiative dedicated to empowerment opportunities for women.
