What is Parenting Equality? And why is it important enough to present to the Ohio House?
Today we are speaking with State Representative Rodney Creech on parenting equality.  He is serving his first term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 43rd District, which consists of Preble County and a portion of Montgomery County. His top 3 initiatives while in office include agricultural gains, workforce development, and parenting equality. About 55% of Americans end up divorced, and the majority of them have children, according to Rep. Creech. "There's a lot of parents that want to help raise their kids and the other parent won't let them," he added. Rep. Creech said he has already begun to meet with stakeholders to discuss the issue. He believes it is one that will garner bipartisan support.

How do you find resilience in tough times? (Part 2 of 2)
Antwone is the definition of a resilient warrior.  He has experienced the heights of success as a hip-hop artist working with recording stars Kanye West and Erick Sermon as well as Chicago producer Terry Hunter.  One of his greatest feats, though, was beating breast cancer in 2014. But five years later, the cancer came back. However, this time Antwone decided against chemotherapy or radiation, he seeks alternative treatments instead. In addition, Mr. Young has been influencing the lives of young children, not only his daughter, but the students at a Chicago high school. Male breast cancer is very rare. Less than 1% of all breast cancer cases develop in men, and only 1 in a 1,000 men will ever be diagnosed with breast cancer, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. His book, “Cancer Saved My Life: A Killer Became a Hero,” will be released later in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

How does God view you after a divorce?
After a divorce and thinking about entering into a new relationship, you have two choices, to repeat what you did in the first marriage or grow, mature and change so your next relationship or marriage can flourish.  Remember, mercy trumps over judgement and God's grace is amazing and magnificent.  So if you've been divorced, serve God and thrive where you are - with zero condemnation. Girl Chat on our Weekend Adventure
A weekend without expectations saved us all!   While in Nashville, Indiana, we took a few minutes to share why we planned the weekend and what we got from it--besides lots of belly laughs.  There was four of us women ranging in ages from 39-57 from Kentucky and Ohio who met in the middle to drink some wine, shop and have fellowship.  This episode will share how having an unplanned, spur of the moment vacation is healthy for the soul.  We had some commonalities such as we all have children, been in relationships (whether divorced or long-term marriages), some are grandparents and we are all faith-based.  We specifically didn't talk COVID or politics because that is all we hear.   To find out more about the kids consignment sales that Elaine mentioned, visit Pigtails and Cowlicks. Healing Yourself
Your self esteem starts with you, no one else.  Mika Altidor learned this at an early age, as she was first generation American and spoke no English, but had to learn to adapt to school and make friends.  She learned through self-reflection and creating a love for yourself by spending time alone.  During her quiet time she exercised in nature, baked brownies and watched Bugs Bunny.  As she grew she added in personal development studies from Napoleon Hill and Zig Ziglar and John Maxwell and implemented tactics she learned watching and reading "The Secret".   Her development led to researching why her body was feeling the way it was, physically and emotionally, which in turn, led her to vegan eating. Now Mika is an entrepreneur, owner, baker, author and mentor.  Resources: Chasing Vegan Book  Life Coach, Julie Lokun  Instagram: victormikabakery Motivation, divorce, empowerment, speaker, activist, survivor, influencer, change agent
