Every episode, I share with you stories (and advice) from experts in their respective fields (and sometimes, just “normal” people) focused on our spiritual, financial, physical, mental and emotional well-being and growth. I am very passionate about being a dad, empowering women, and encouraging men to continue to be the fathers, sons, husbands, and men God wants us to be; and prayerfully, this podcast will be beneficial for that purpose. Dealing with Difficult Parents
I will be taking a short break and will return soon. Meanwhile, this week, I am joined by Anika Munshi again, and like last time, she holds back nothing. She is passionate about the topic, and you can hear it in her voice. A topic that many of us can relate to and resonate with, Anika educates us on how to deal with difficult parents, how to set healthy boundaries, taking care of our elderly parents, etc. She poses questions such as:
1. Does being dutiful and obedient mean that I must protect my parent from every discomfort and negative feeling? Am I disobedient if my parent is unhappy with me? Am I hindering this person’s growth process by protecting them from seeing their own flaws
2. If my parents are elderly and incapacitated, how much responsibility do I need to shoulder before it becomes a burden? If I choose to seek help to caretake them, do I see myself as deficient?
3. Do obedience and respect mean the same thing?
4. Are parents hiding their own helplessness?
5. Are parents worshipping Allah or themselves?

MTO: Meet The One
Due to popular demand, we brought back sister Tanweer Daya, Tanweer, co-founder of MTO, sits down with me and explains how her passion project, a matrimonial, or a concierge service, works, the history and reason behind it, etc. She briefly touches on the pros and cons of online dating versus in person dating. She has a message for parents who practice force marriages. Tanweer also shares with me her own love story and how she met her husband. Do opposites really attract though? Tanweer tells us how she and her husband are polar opposites, yet, have managed to survive and thrive over 20 years of marriage.
She reveals six matrimonial events she has planned for those residing in the Southern California region, starting with tomorrow, July 18th, 2021.

Understanding Narcissism
In this week's episode, sister Anika Munshi, founder of Sukoon circles and Rahman Designs, generously graced us with her online presence and shared her wealth of knowledge on what narcissism is. We touched on topics such as the defination of narcissism, examples from the noble Quran on people who were narcissist, how does narcissism present itself in the dating world, is there a different between arrogance and narcissism or are they interchangeable, etc. Are narcissists bad people. Anika believes that the word narcissism is fundamentally flawed.

Importance of Premarital Counseling
We introduce our first therapist guest on the show, sister Aiman Merali. She runs her own private practice, and was a delight to have on the show. She educated me on the importance of premarital counseling, when to initiate the process, how it is done, the benefits of having these types of counseling sessions, etc. As Muslims, are there specific types of therapist we need to seek? Do we seek therapy only when something is "broken"? What about Istikhira? But what happens when Allah gives the green light to marry someone, what is the point of the counseling at that point?

A Godly Father
