Exploring Loneliness, Aloneness, and Chosen Family

Thank you for joining us again on the Kings of Hearts Podcast. We truly enjoy creating this content for you as we know how important it is to create "entry points" to topics that are often discussed or even brought up. In this conversation, expect deeper perspectives between Yenukwa and Andy on loneliness, aloneness, and chosen family.

We specifically chose this topic to talk about and release in December because it is a typical month where people find themselves around family and friends more during the holidays. However, the reality is that this isn't an option for everyone, and the experience/feeling of loneliness during this time of year may set in intensely.

So whether that is you or someone you know who typically goes through loneliness or even depression during the holidays, tune in AND also share this episode with people in your community and circle.

Cheers, we trust you will find value here today.

EP28: Mental Health, Spiritual Wisdom, And Our Connection To The Land With Chantai Minet

EP28: Mental Health, Spiritual Wisdom, And Our Connection To The Land With Chantai Minet

This is an episode to remember. Today we have with us Chantai Minet. A dear friend, a Registered Provisional Psychologist, an avid supporter of Kings of Hearts, and a beautiful soul. We get into a deep dialogue with Chantai about drawing wisdom from the land, returning to remembrance, men's mental health, the intersection between embodiment and spirituality, and much more.

There is a line that Chantai expressed that hits us in the feels: "To be unwell in our body is a spiritual crisis". Wow.

We trust you will enjoy this wonderful dialogue with us, and as always if it resonates with you share it with your community.

Blessings from the Kings.

EP27: How To Powerfully Leverage Accountability, Feedback, And Criticism For Your Benefit

This is another one-on-one session between Yenukwa and Andy. They take the opportunity and deep dive into the power of feedback, criticism, and accountability. We discuss what the differences are between the three, our own personal experiences with it, how it all ties into men's work and mental health, and most importantly how men can integrate it into their lives and leadership.

Enjoy this episode family.

EP24: Body Image In Sports/Athletics And It's Impact On Self-image And Mental Health With Angela Epp (Part 2)

Angela Epp (aka Burkey) is back! She was so excited from the last episode having more to share she wanted to make a swift return.

If you haven't listened to Part 1, do yourself a favor and listen to it before this episode!

In this episode, Angela addresses the topic of body image in sports/athletics and the impact it had on her self-image and mental health.

We also break down the identity shifts that happen when transitioning out of sports, the identity crisis for Burkey, and how it impacted her behavior in other areas of her life. There is truth, heartache, vulnerability, and a call-up to be better in this episode from Burkey — so powerful.

Enjoy.

EP23: Preventative vs Proactive. What Is the Better Approach When It Comes To Men's Mental Health?

EP23: Preventative vs Proactive. What Is the Better Approach When It Comes To Men's Mental Health?

This is a powerful episode between just Andy and Yenukwa. We want to drop in and call in more of these types of one-on-one episodes. In this session Preventative or Proactive, what is the better approach when it comes to men's mental health? Our conversation naturally evolved into also discussing relationships and being responsible for our own mental health as men so we don't put it all on our partners (if you're in a relationship) or on others.

Lots of laughs, ah-ha moments, and banter between these two Kings made this conversation light, yet deep and purposeful.

We trust you will enjoy it.
