7. Linda Feuerhelm - Strong Women and the Frog!

Today we are talking to friend of the pod Linda Feuerhelm. Born in small-town Alberta, this adventurer knew she was destined to see amazing things. A troubled youth, and a defiant adolescent she seemed to fit in more with the boys and let's be fair, they had cooler toys growing up, that's when she learned to weld. Linda went to school for Broadcasting, she was the first-ever first-year student to interview a major political party leader: Former Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper. As 9/11 unfolded, this soon-to-be mom pivoted from corporate crime-fighter to truck driver and company owner. It was when the economy started crashing in 2007 that Linda found herself telling jokes, which led her to move to British Columbia, Canada, and work for Carnival Cruise lines. It was here this adventurer found a better way to see the world, by boat, with a transportation background, she then pursued her Captains ticket and is still working on bigger and bigger tickets. As a woman in the marine industry that represents 1-2% of the sea based mariner, she set out to make this career more appealing to women as well as more inclusive plus make education more accessible to all mariners.

I am so proud of this strong amazing women and so happy to have her back on the podcast.

18. Feisty Friday ft Sheri and Kindra - Motherhood & Fitness Over 45 and Debunking Popular Myths on How to Stay Lean For Life

18. Feisty Friday ft Sheri and Kindra - Motherhood & Fitness Over 45 and Debunking Popular Myths on How to Stay Lean For Life

Hey hey friends! It's that time of the month again.... haha I'm kidding, but seriously, I cannot believe that we are at the end of February! How have 2 months already gone by! So many incredible things coming up this upcoming month that I will share with you soon enough, but for now, we are back with our February Feisty Friday!

Every last Friday of each month, we have a bonus episode where I'll feature a guest and we will riff on all the things currently happening, all the things we notice but aren't talked about enough. That's right--in true Kiss My Curvy Assets style, we will have bold, fun, unapologetic, and feisty conversations!

Today's Feisty Friday episode features two of my really good friends and clients, Sheri Amendt and Kindra Lahey, both of them badass, bold, and sexy mamas age 45 and up, fitness competitors and athletes... and both of them in the best health and shape of their life. Their secret? Making their daily movement a sacred ritual that's an outlet for them to enjoy individually as well as together as friends. Eating wholesome foods that make them feel good, that nourish their body, while still enjoying a glass of wine or their fave dessert. And the best part, yes, carbs are invited to the party, friends! We also debunk some popular myths on how to stay fit, lean, and healthy for life! So this one's a juicy episode you're gonna wanna tune in to! Below are a few takeaways:

1. Don't let fitness intimidate you. Start small, keep at it. Your health and fitness goals will only be sustainable when you do it for yourself first, nobody else.

2. Carbs, vino, dessert, whole foods = your friend. Everything in moderation. Don't deprive yourself. Eat what makes you feel good without the guilt trip.

3. Motherhood is hard. Staying consistent is hard. Putting yourself first is hard. But what's harder is staying in the same place year after year. If you desire a badass body and rockstar health, seize it. Go after it, do it your way without the fad diets. Stick to a lifestyle that works for your health. And sip on some vino, 'cause balance, y'know?

17. So You Wanna Write A Book? ft. Sabrina Greer

17. So You Wanna Write A Book? ft. Sabrina Greer

Hey hey friends! How are you today? I'm so giddy with excitement to have someone special here today. Friend, publisher-in-shining-armor to me and many others, and overall boss babe, Sabrina Greer.

Meet Sabrina, she is the founder and Head of House here at YGTMama. She is a mom of three boys, host of You've Got This, Mama the Podcast, a 7x bestselling author, publisher, and a Clarity Coach. She has helped hundreds of humans, discover and rediscover their identity and purpose. She turns chaos into clarity and is lovingly referred to as—The Brain Baby Doula because she helps you BIRTH your BRAIN baby!

Sabrina has a BA in developmental psychology and early childhood education. She is a certified Life Coach and NLP Practitioner but more importantly, she is a lover of learning and incredibly passionate about helping others and genuine connection.

When she's not mommin' or empowering others, she opts for a simpler life. She is a self-proclaimed "rookie" farmer and is also MAMA to over 40+ animals on their 70-acre farmstead in the woods. She wears a lot of hats but does so with grace, grit and buckets of joy.

Her goal is to help as many humans as possible build their legacy through sharing their stories and "brain babies" with the world.

We talk about all things books, what it takes to write one, the author's journey, and of course, different types of publishing, and how to stay committed to making it happen:

1. Show up for your dreams just like you would show up for that hair or lash appointment! Your writing and creativity requires genuine commitment and effort, as well as it's own creative space. We like to call it, setting the mood so you can be the vibe!

2. Alignment with everything is key. Yes, this includes your mentors and publishers too. Energy doesn't lie. Trust it and leap accordingly.

3. Nothing is as hard or complicated as we make it seem. Your story is worth sharing, so keep it simple, show up fully, and don't be afraid to seek the support you need to make your dream come true!

16. Women in Policing - Bravery, Grit, and Heart in Action with Simone Gaetz

16. Women in Policing - Bravery, Grit, and Heart in Action with Simone Gaetz

Hey friends! Hope you all had a fun, relaxing, and lovely long weekend! We are back with another amazing guest on our podcast this week, my dear friend, Simone Gaetz. She is fabulous and 51, and also has an identical twin sister, and together, they are both very passionate about fitness and health! Simone started her journey in a fitness career and then went on to become a private investigator, a sheriff, and has now been a police officer for over 15 years. I was lucky enough to coach her for her one and only fitness competition that she competed in. And now, she is changing the world of policing through her intuitive leadership and passion for health and fitness. She is implementing fitness programs, mindset coaching, healthy recipes, and more, all of which are important for the stress management and the overall well-being of her fellow officers in such an intense profession.

In today's episode, we talk about all things women in policing, banishing the stigma of women in uniform, leading with love and intention in all areas of your life -- at work and home. Below are some key takeaways:

1. There are many layers to mental health and no one-size-fits-all solution. What we can do is have an open conversation and hold space for each other's experiences.

2. Women have a place in policing. Let's end the stigma. Because we are nurturers, protectors, and warriors at heart.

3. Police officers are still human. Smile at each other, say hello. Humanize the badge. They play multiple roles when in uniform and have to be hyperaware of their surroundings and much more, given they are responsible for protecting the community at large. Being in a position of authority and responsibility as an officer means being aware of our impact and using that for positive change.

15. Own Your Self Pleasure and Claim Your Big O ft. Tori Nicole

15. Own Your Self Pleasure and Claim Your Big O ft. Tori Nicole

Hey hey, friends? Happy Valentine's Week, officially! This week on the podcast we talk about all things pleasure and orgasms.... yup, we said it. The Big O, something that not many women experience on a frequent basis. Can we all agree that we are in an era where we need to continue empowering ourselves in every way, and that includes our sexual wellness as well. Too often, we fake it till we make it, even in the bedroom, and that leaves us feeling resentful, or worse, thinking that there is something wrong with us and our bodies.

Girlfriend, let me tell you, there is absolutely nothing wrong with you, or your partner (most of the time). All sexual dilemmas can be eliminated with some open, vulnerable, honest conversations, and a shit ton of humor and willingness to try new things! Ladies (and gentlemen), get ready to have your love flowing and orgasms growing after you listen to this juicy, fun, and value-packed episode featuring my good friend, Tori Nicole, who has been a prior guest on the podcast in Episode 10.

Tori is all about making life pleasurable, be it in business or the bedroom! Orgasms should be big and so should bank accounts. She started educating women about sex years ago after overcoming her own sexual trauma while working for a marketing agency. When the pandemic hit, she decided to put those skills to work for small businesses and opened her own marketing agency, Martin & Co. | Where Marketing is Art. Tori focuses on women-owned small businesses and helps women build brands people buy from.

Follow her on the socials @thetorinicole or @wheremarketingisart

In today's episode, we talk about all things self-pleasure, pleasure within a partnership, and much more. Consider this the sex-ed class that is actually fun and full of knowledge you'll walk away with:

1. Communicate your needs with your partner. Be open, vulnerable, and honest. Keep it kind. And learn to laugh about it!

2. Own your self-pleasure. Explore your body and reclaim your power in the bedroom and outside of it too.

3. Lack of libido, inability to orgasm can be multi-factorial - hormone fluctuations, moods, physiology, emotional balance within a relationship, past trauma can all play a part. Get curious, give yourself grace, and love on your body and soul.

14. Kiss My Curvy Assets - The Podcast - EP14 - Badass Babes Empowering One Another ft Janine Jericho and Linda Feuerhelm

Hey hey, friends? Happy February!! Happy Love Month! And on that note, happy self-love month! Can we all agree that we need to love ourselves more, and love on each other a hella lot more! Yes, that's right babes. All too often, we see the cattiness, jealousy, the "how dare she do better than me?" and other low vibe behavior in female friendships.

Well, this is the year that changes, friends! I am so excited to share with today, the first of many, Badass Babes Empowering One Another series featuring my two best friends and incredible thought leaders -- Janine Jericho and Linda Feuerhelm, who have also been guests on the show previously (Episodes 4 and 7).

In today's episode, we riff on all things bullying (offline and online), the meaning of true friendship and #womenempoweringwomen, and all that goes along with it! Here are a few takeaways:

1. There is enough glitter to go around for all of us. Sharing your spotlight doesn't take away anything from you. It amplifies your circle of 5.

2. If you are the sum of 5 people who surround you, their success IS your success. Cheer them on, support them, unapologetically.

3. Quit the bullying. Quit the shaming. Inclusivity and diversity start with you. Have open conversations with your kids. Teach them to embrace and respect differences.

13. Feisty Fridays ft Jen Kersten - Get off the highlight reel and be the real deal!

13. Feisty Fridays ft Jen Kersten - Get off the highlight reel and be the real deal!

What's up, friends? Happy Friday! Happy Feisty Friday that is! Can you believe in just two days, January is officially over! Where did the month go, amirite?!

What a start to the new year! I am so happy you are here with me and tuning in. I thought today would be a fun way to introduce you to something new on the podcast... say hello to Feisty Fridays! On the last Friday of each month, I will share a bonus episode where I'll feature a guest and we will riff on all the things currently happening, all the things we notice but aren't talked about enough. That's right--in true Kiss My Curvy Assets style, we will have bold, fun, unapologetic, and feisty conversations!

Our first Feisty Friday, we are featuring a good friend of mine and previously a guest on our show in Episode 5... say hello to Jen Kersten. She is a fitness and nutrition coach from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada with over 25 years’ experience as a fitness trainer and nutritionist. Jen specializes in metabolism, glute training, and encourages her clients to develop a healthy relationship with food and self while navigating a fitness lifestyle.

In today's episode, Lori and Jen riff on all things social media and the highlight reel... here are a few takeaways:

1. Live as the real deal instead of focusing on the highlight reel.

2. Social media doesn't need to be overwhelming, it is what you make of it. Use it intentionally and unplug often. Don't get addicted to the dopamine hits from the hearts, comments, and DMs.

3. Be real, online and offline. It will take you a long way. People can smell fakeness a mile away. Energy does not lie. Support those who you know are genuinely creating impact while taking you through their journey and keeping things 100% real. Work with someone who lives their integrity, walks their talk, and helps bring out the best in you!

12. "Nobody Wants a Fat Trainer..." and Other Myths Debunked with Asha Belisle

12. "Nobody Wants a Fat Trainer..." and Other Myths Debunked with Asha Belisle

Hey friends!

Today on the podcast, we are chatting with another incredible friend, Asha Belisle where we debunk all the myths you hear in the fitness and health coaching industry--the things you say to yourself/ hear as a trainer, and even what you should be focusing on as a client when looking for a trainer... and hint, it's definitely not the vanity metrics or the social media highlight reel.

Say hello to my friend, Asha Belisle, who is a fitness and nutrition coach and a clinical exercise physiologist and has over 20 years of experience in this industry coaching both competitive and non-competitive athletes. She lives in Edmonton, Alberta with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.

Key takeaways from today's episode:

1. You are more than what you look like. Focus on your experience and knowledge. The right clients will come.

2. We shouldn't have to explain why we look the way we look, especially when we have the knowledge and experience to back it up. Life evolves, our body evolves.

3. You aren't the trainer for everyone, but you ARE the trainer for someone who needs exactly what you have to offer them.

4. Fitness and health is a holistic practice. It's a reflection of your lifestyle, environment, nutrition, sleep, hormones, etc. Focus on the internal, and the external will follow.

11. Rockin' Beyond Extremes: How to Lose 80lbs (and keep them off) and rock your body, your way ft Aimee Anderson

Hey friends!

I am super pumped to bring you a dear friend and client today-- Aimee Anderson, because not only is her story powerful, it will ignite you into action, especially since we are officially 3 weeks into the new year, which is typically when most people give up on their New Years' resolutions.

Did you know that most people give up on their goals and resolutions because they often lack patience and consistency... Mmmmhmmm. I said that! It's easy to plug into a diet or nutrition program, but it's hard to sustain it. And I cannot blame you! All those rules, restrictions, and deprivation would have me giving up on my fitness journey too. This is why I am super excited for you to meet Aimee Anderson. Not only is she a busy mom of five kids (ranging from the age of 13, all the way up until 23). She's is a full-time education assistant from Alberta, Canada. We've been coaching together for two and a half years, and get ready for this. Amy has lost over, 80, pounds and she has kept it off, doing it the right way, aka without the fads, pills or potions, or any guilt or deprivation, and with a ton of patience. She's living her best life!

Key takeaways from today's episode:

1. Stop the struggle-mode. Get into pleasure and feel-good mode. Eat what feels good. Work out in a way that feels good. Make your fitness and health journey fun. It's easy to stay consistent when feeling good is the goal.

2. Ease off the pressure-pedal. Be patient with your body, with yourself. Whole health is a lifestyle, not a fad. We are rewiring ourselves for a total lifestyle shift, and that won't happen overnight.

3. You are stronger than you can imagine. More capable than you can imagine. Hitting your goals isn't an unattainable feat. Flip the switch, enlist your support team or trainer who resonates with you, and actually listen to them.

4. Health is a state of mind, body, and being. Focus on what brings a smile to your face. Find people who will wholeheartedly support you and challenge you to rise and be your best self. Do it for you first, not for anyone else.

I am so excited to introduce you today to my dear friend, Tori Nicole.

Key takeaways from today's episode:

1. Marketing your business feels easy when it feels orgasmic to both your client and yourself. Give value, love on them, and create raving fans for life.

2. It's okay to be multi-passionate. Don't put yourself in a box. Instead take who you are into all your ventures, all your relationships, and more.

3. Don't hold back. Ask for what you desire and life, people, and the Universe will meet you there. When you lean into how you want to feel, everything shifts and realigns itself with that feeling.

4. Show up unapologetically. You are woman, roar Sister. You are fierce, you are divine. You are oozing with fierce, audacious, confidence. Revel in your power - the ability to create the life you desire, the business you love, and the bank account you deserve. Own your sexuality and sensuality. That is the secret sauce to showing up confidently in your own skin.

9. Give Yourself Permission to Pivot and Live Your Dreams Audaciously with Tamara Knight

9. Give Yourself Permission to Pivot and Live Your Dreams Audaciously with Tamara Knight

Hey hey friends! Happy New Year! We are back with an incredible guest to start us off on an intentional, bold, and badass note this year!

Meet my dear friend and doer of many things, Tamara Knight, who has been a competitive athlete for 38 years (from the age of 11!). Initially as a cyclist, and then a long-distance runner, the bodybuilding bug bit her at age 19. Since then, Tamara has added decades of experience and a myriad of credentials to her resume, including the title of 2009 overall masters and open bodybuilding champion, as well as being a 5-time national athlete. Moreover, Tamara is a certified sports nutritionist, personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach, and exercise and rehab therapy coach.

Since 2006, Tamara has been a full-time sports coach through her own company and gym ‘Tzone Fitness’. Tamara coached 2 clients to the IFBB Pro ranks in 2018! In addition to all of this, Tamara promotes two Canadian Physique Alliance (CPA) events, is a loving mom to 2 boys and 4 dogs, and a ski addict. 5 months out of the year she can be found at her second home on Big White.

By now, you know we love talking about all things that aren't typically talked about. Tamara and I have an open, candid dialogue about what it takes to pivot and adapt whenever one is faced with adverse life circumstances or even simply living an unhappy, unfulfilling life. We address things such as marriage, motherhood, the choice to have kids on one's own time instead of society's clock.

Key takeaways from today's episode:

1. Time waits for no one. Whether you do it or not, the time will pass anyway. So live with intention, with gratitude, with purpose. Apply that with everyone you meet, and in everything you do.

2. Give yourself permission to go after your dreams. Go after that house, launch that business, travel as often as you like. Be with someone who sets your entire mind/body/soul on fire. Dare to live boldly, audaciously, and anyone who has a problem can kiss your curvy assets.

3. Pivot as many times as you need to, as you want to. Life is not meant to be boring or lived in a static, stagnant manner. Give yourself to dream of Plan A, B, C, D, E... it's called multi-passionate... serial entrepreneurship... living all your dreams, 'cause why not?!

4. Ditch the guilt trip - with food, love, exercise, rest... everything! You want to savor some chocolate, go for it! You wanna eat the carbs, go for it! You want to spend a day resting and lounging in bed, go for it! Guilting yourself into doing something will only make you feel more resentful, and sustainable lifestyle changes aren't built on guilt and deprivation, babe!

5. Exercise your choices actively. Don't let society force you into making choices you're not yet ready to make - be that marriage, going to school, having children, changing careers etc. You have the freedom to make these choices. Trust that you will do so when the timing feels aligned, for YOU.

8. 20 Things I Learned in 2020.

8. 20 Things I Learned in 2020.

What's up, friends? Can you believe we are one day away from welcoming the new year? 2020... what a year. There aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe this year, so I am going to share with you the 20 things or lessons I learned in 2020. Grab your Pinot... or whatever you love to drink and listen in.

1. Teachers deserve a medal. Seriously. This has been the year of all remote learning, being the tech support wizards, and managing both in-class and remote students. I think you need to spoil them with gifts at least every month, and especially on Teacher's Appreciation Day.

2. Perhaps buying shares in mask-making would have been a good idea pre-2020. Who knew masks would be so avant-garde this year?!

3. Home workouts are the BOMB dot com! As a former gym rat, I really learned to love my workout space at home. No more dirty gyms for this gal!

4. Wine is not a daily food group. Hands up if you have reached for that bottle red or white during the first 60-90 days of lockdown. Also, hands up if you noticed your anxiety levels go up as a result. Move into balance instead of excessiveness.

5. Ain't no such thing as a control freak anymore! Seriously, this year has taught us to fully surrender and let it go because we are not in control of it all, and we cannot control it all.

6. I have a new least favorite C word.... you guessed it.... it starts with a C and ends with O V I D. I am eagerly waiting for the day we never have to hear this word ever again! And never want anyone saying it again! Who's with me?!

7. There's a Netflix show for that... literally, there is a show about anything and everything. Tiger King, anyone?

8. Jigsaw puzzles are the shit! Seriously. Before a pandemic, when was the last time you sat down and not only started… but finished a 1000 piece puzzle! Or played a boardgame religiously?

9. Unfollow, block, and delete anybody on social media and in real life who makes you feel like absolute shit, sends you down the comparison rabbit hole,

10. Adaptability is a learned skill. 2020 has taught many of us to adapt. We are resilient AF and we will make it out of this so long as we are flexible and adapt. Zoom calls in their pajamas or undies anyone, business on top, but party bottoms?

11. We are more resilient than we give ourselves credit for. 2020 has tested all of us in every way, and still, here we are, rolling with the punches, making it from one lockdown to another, adapting and doing all the things. Chumbawamba's song Tubthumping (I get knocked down) might as well be the anthem for this year.

12. We all take things for granted… not anymore though! Remember how it felt to hug someone, meet up for drinks, go dancing, go to the movies, see your loved ones at any time, travel anywhere at any time? Remember basic human connection... being free, feeling free in public? Yeah, me too, friend!

Though this year may have tossed us all sorts of curveballs, we have made it through, battle scars, Netflix binges, and wine 'o'clock happening earlier in the day than we'd like to admit. Here's to us soaring in 2021 like the badass humans we are!

7. Diverse Talents - A Woman Making Her Mark in the Entertainment Industry ft Janine Jericho

7. Diverse Talents - A Woman Making Her Mark in the Entertainment Industry ft Janine Jericho

What's up friends? I am so excited to bring you today's episode for many reasons... one of which is that I get to share one of my best friends and an incredibly inspiring human with you, Janine Jericho, an international headliner who has maintained top feature showgirl status within the adult club industry for over the last decade. Continuing to win top titles and awards, over 80 in her career, with 30 being in the last 3 years alone, spanning both hemispheres and three countries. Some of her most recent accolades have included: BEST FEATURE SHOWGIRL from the Nightmoves Magazine Awards, Exotic Angels PERFORMER OF THE YEAR and MISS EXOTIC SHOWGIRL  in Australia along with the prestigious and top honors of World Ultimate Entertainer, Battle Of the Champions, Canada Grand Champion, Universe Performer Of the Year and 2x Miss Nude World Entertainer of the Year. This has made her a staple and one of the most sought after artists to date. Janine has performed in 9 countries worldwide, with multiple tours throughout Australia each year, and is personally invited to headline competitions and main events demonstrating that she is currently one of the most bankable and bookable headliners and the only international feature booked around the world.

She possesses specialty skills that include: aerial acrobatics, fireplay, circus arts, flow arts, veil fans, advanced pole-dancing coupled with her high energy dance style, elite costumes, and props. Most importantly, her ability to connect with an audience has added to her being billed as one of the top entertainers in the industry. Janine has had several publications internationally with her most current features in Pin Up Culture Magazine, Wild Vixens Magazine, graced the cover of Night Moves Magazine and last year was on the film sets of Supergirl, the 100, the Arrangement, and Riverdale. Janine Jericho has also been a special guest on a variety of radio talk shows throughout North America, which included the Tony Batman Radio Talk Show, where she was one of his highest-rated guests of all time. Janine is also one of the featured personalities in a documentary called, Naked justice, which is near completion that tells the story of what it takes to be an elite showgirl and an inside look into the industry.

Today's episode shares key insights on what it means to be an elite showgirl within a cut-throat, highly replaceable, and expendable entertainment industry.

1. You are more than just a (insert your title). You are capable of doing so many things, experiencing so many different emotions, don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Don't ever let anyone tell you who you can be. Show them what you're made of.

2. Women CAN support women in business. Keep it honest and transparent, have clear boundaries, and connect with who you vibe the most with! Business can be personal, but it's important not to let the personal affect your business.

3. You can always learn new skills, you cannot learn a new personality. It's more important to have heart, soul, and be authentic than knowing all the skills or having all the certifications to boast of.

4. Take care of your body, your mindset, and your emotions. You only have one body and one life, treat yourself well. Nourish your mind, body, and soul with good nutrition, movement, and healthy relationships and friendships.

5. Stop letting your circumstances, ageism, or anything else limit you. You are more than your limitations. Focus on what you CAN do versus what you cannot.

There you have it, friends! I hope you enjoyed listening to this episode as much as we enjoyed recording it! Connect with Janine on ig: @janinejericho

6. Male Body Image in Hollywood and The Dad Juggle is Real AF ft. Garfield Wilson

6. Male Body Image in Hollywood and The Dad Juggle is Real AF ft. Garfield Wilson

What's up friends?! Happy Friday!

I am so excited to share an incredibly special guest with you today. Now, he and I have been friends for a long time, but I'll share a secret with you... chances are you've also seen him in some movies and TV shows... World, meet my good friend, and Hollywood actor, Garfield Wilson.

Garfield Wilson was born in Surrey, England; the middle child of three to Jamaican parents.  His family immigrated to Canada when he was six years old. Having always felt a pull to all things creative, he organically fell into music and acting in his hometown of Edmonton, Alberta.  After two years performing as the lead singer to a funk/soul cover band, Garfield’s first break was portraying Judas in “Jesus Christ Superstar.”  He then ventured to Vancouver, BC, to pursue music and acting further.  After singing in his own band, followed by a Canadian tour singing back-up vocals for Colin James, Garfield began to focus on acting.

Garfield has found success in the spotlight on screens both big and small with the likes of STOLEN BY MY MOTHER: THE KAMIYAH MOBLEY STORY opposite Niecy Nash, and COME TO DADDY,  VENDETTA, with a myriad of television roles including the likes of TNT’s SNOWPIERCER, ARROW, Once Upon A Time, Bates Motel, The 100, Continuum, iZombie, Zoo, Netflix’s Travelers, Van Helsing, The Good Doctor, The Man in the High Castle, Batwoman, and J.J. Abrams’ Almost Human, amongst others.

In today's episode, we have an open, no-holds-barred conversation about the male body image in Hollywood and the fitness industry. Yes, friends, this not only affects women but it also affects men too!

The male body image in Hollywood and the fitness industry. Everywhere we turn, the ideal body type is that of the alpha male: tall, ripped, buff, built, fit, muscular. And if you don't fit these ideals, you're surely going to jump through hoops to make sure you do. Is it any wonder that both men and women have a warped body image? This ideal is not only unrealistic but it's absolutely toxic for the male psyche. Body image, body dysmorphia, and the mental and physical health issues that follow are conversations that need to be had more often especially within men's health as well.

We also had a chance to explore what parenthood looks like for men. Not only does Garfield juggle an incredibly busy work schedule and multiple businesses, he does so as a single dad. How does he cope? By turning inward, recognizing when he is anxious or stressed, and then making a plan to navigate it and co-parenting with his ex-wife.

A kickass analogy Garfield shares: "We are spinning plates on a stick. Some of those plates are glass, and some of those plates are styrofoam. Some of those plates can fall off and it's okay, and some of those plates you absolutely cannot drop." When we apply that analogy to our life, health, business, and more, it makes the juggle more stellar and fun!

This episode has so many juicy nuggets in it some of which include:

1. Notice where and how you spend your time. Whatever you choose to do, make sure it takes you one step closer to your goals and vision.

2. Learn to say no. And stop the self-sabotage. Things are not happening to you. You are an active participant in your life. Own it.

3. Mental health is incredibly important, just as much as physical health, no matter what your life looks like.

4. It's okay to be discerning with who you let into your life and what you share with anyone - online and offline.

There you have it, friends! I hope you enjoyed listening to this episode as much as we enjoyed recording it! PS. do me a solid and, share, share, share away! Subscribe + Rate + Leave us a review as it helps my message get in front of more humans who need this.

4. Bold Babes Breaking Barriers Everywhere with Linda Feuerhelm

4. Bold Babes Breaking Barriers Everywhere with Linda Feuerhelm

Happy Fri-yay! And welcome to Episode 4 of the Kiss My Curvy Assets Podcast, friends!

This week on the podcast, I have another incredibly special person here to share with you. She is breaking barriers all over the place. Yes, babe! Shatter all those ceilings!

Meet my good friend, Linda Feuerhelm.

As a woman in trades, she noticed she was always one of few. Never as much as when she joined ships. Statistically, women make up 1-2% of the Marine industry and generally only work as officers, Linda worked her way up as a deckhand. She is a mentor to all up-and-coming mariners, especially women. She recently accepted a teaching position at BCIT to emphasize women in the marine industry. She holds a certificate for feature film writing from UCLA but she doesn’t only write strong female leads, she is one. A member of 2 unions, a Longshoremen and an Operating Engineer, and a strong advocate for equality of women in the workforce, Linda's mission is to empower women to step into their power and do the things they think they cannot do.

Key takeaways from today's episode:

1. Equal rights are equal rights, across the board. Everyone should be treated equally.

2. Don't tolerate shit behavior, period. Leave the abusive jobs, relationships, and friendships. Speak up more and stand up for yourself and for one another.

3. Seek adventure, you will never go wrong! Besides, you'll have some kickass stories to share with everyone!

4. Do the hard things. The things nobody wants to do or thinks you can do. Be the babe who breaks all barriers, because you can. Because you're a fierce AF rockstar who knows she is meant for more!

PS. if you loved this episode, share, share, share away! Subscribe + Rate + Leave us a review as it helps my message get in front of more women who need this. More women who need to know that they can do it all, they can rock it all, they can be the bold, beautiful, badass babe they are, and also cheer one another on as they continue to break all barriers and ceilings! More women who aren't afraid to take up space or be their fruit-loop-selves in a world full of cheerios! Bring on the weird, the confident, the powerful!

3. Pivot - Strong Babes Coming Together & Rocking New Beginnings - with Tania Jane Moraes-Vaz

Welcome to Episode 3 of the Kiss My Curvy Assets Podcast, friends!

This week on the podcast, I have someone incredibly special and dear to me, she is my word and creative unicorn— meet my editor and podcast manager and all of things, Tania Jane Moraes-Vaz.

Tania is a woman of many capes. Wife and mama. Self-expression Mentor and friend. Storyteller, energetic lightworker, and overall creative strategist. She is a 5x best selling Author, Host of The Holistic Warrior Life Podcast, and brand photographer, and the Creatrix and Founder of The Holistic Warrior Life Co. and Warrior Life Creative Co.—a full-scale creative agency specializing in nurture content marketing for heart-inspired entrepreneurs and brands. She is also a creative partner / developmental editor with the YGTMama. Media. Co and Mama Brain Magazine. Lovingly called the "Word Magician," by some and “word wizard" or a "professional brand+energy jenga-player” by others, Tania LOVES helping purpose-driven, heart-and-impact-centered entrepreneurs, small-business owners, authors, or personal/lifestyle brands show up online exactly how they want to be seen, heard, and felt through compelling copy and content creation that magnetizes their dream clients.

Today, we talk all things female friendships, relationships in business, how to pivot after the rug gets pulled from underneath you, and how you rock the shit out of your life by rebuilding your confidence and self-worth, regaining your voice. There are far too many women I see, and Tania sees, who have little to no self-worth, confidence, or self-trust in themselves as a result of being in toxic situations—be it at work, in their personal relationships, or even friendships.

And today’s episode will hopefully spark some lightbulb moments for you and show you that you're not alone,  your voice matters, your story matters, YOU matter, and most of all, you’re capable of handling anything that comes your way. So kick back, relax, grab some coffee or Pinot (It's 5pm somewhere in the world, right?) and listen to today's totally raw conversation

Key takeaways from today’s episode:

  1. Find someone you trust who you can open up to - a loved one, or even a professional.
  2. Love yourself, babe. Celebrate the wins, even the little ones. Cheer yourself on, and find your people who will cheer you on too.
  3. Let it go, let it go, let it go (*Elsa-style from Frozen). You are human, you will feel your pain. Grieve the losses and cut ‘em loose. No more room for toxic anything!
  4. Start rebuilding yourself one step at a time — be cleaning out your closet, having a burn party with all the old shit, or just giving yourself time to grieve and reset.
  5. Stop surrounding yourself with assholes,  period. Trust your instincts. Know when something feels off, it's usually the case.
  6. Celebrate yourself like the badass babe you know you are. Stop giving away your power to others.

What’s up, friends, we are talking about rocking your body today—Holiday style. This time of year (despite what the year has tossed our way) people everywhere are congregating. And this is the #1 question I receive from all my clients: How do I navigate all of this? How do I still function and socialize at these family gatherings, where there's so much food everywhere, yet I still have to maintain my fitness goals, without gaining fifteen pounds overnight? How do I navigate this without feeling worse about my body? Do I have to be a hermit, do I have to stay home. Am I still going to be able to have a piece of the pumpkin pie? 1. Rock The Shit Out Of Your Body!

1. Rock The Shit Out Of Your Body!

Today, I'm going to talk about my favorite topic—rocking the shit out of our bodies, our way. In my book "Kiss My Curvy Assets," I had over 45 K.I.S.S Principles written down, all geared toward helping you keep your life simple, sexy, and can easily be implemented. Things that will help your body. Things that will heal your soul and empower you to seize life by the horns and truly live a badass life taking care of your mind, body, and soul. Today’s episode talks about the actual epidemic we have in our society: millions of women who suffer from feeling broken, hating themselves, their body, having a negative body image. This goes on to impact how they show up in their life, it affects their confidence, their style, their essence. So I want to share with you today a few of my K.I.S.S Principles that will help you hit the ground running, in style, your way, a way that makes you feel good inside out. Kiss Principle #1: Bye Weighing Scale, See you never! Newsflash: Your weight is controlled by so many variable factors—hormones, stress, nutrition, lack of sleep, life changes, etc. So next time the number staring back at you isn’t one that pleased your idealistic expectations, it’s okay. Give yourself grace and start focusing on how you feel, and how you want to feel. Kiss Principle #2: Our Common Frenemy—Social media. Perfectly angled and curated highlight reels, posts, and stories. Where the eff has the authenticity gone? Whatever happened to keepin’ the reel real?! I mean, isn’t the whole point of social media to be social, take in what you love, and share what you desire? So stop chasing, comparing, and start creating, start being. Start loving YOU. Kiss Principle #3: Drop the Comparison Game, Friend! Enough. We are enough, as we are, in our bodies. The comparison ends today because it doesn’t serve you or help you get to where you want to be. Instead, highlight what you love about yourself, your body, and start rocking it. Start cheering yourself and other women when you see them with something you desire. It lets you know it is possible for you too! Start watering your own grass and watch how you bloom inside out. Your confidence will soar. Time to kick the jealousy monster bye-bye! Kiss Principle #4: O-O-Orgasm, Baby! There is something magical about a woman owning her sexuality and her power, everything feels much better, looks much better, it’s like living life in technicolor. It’s not the dress, the makeup, the designer bags or shoes… it’s you, baby, that glow of confidence and pure certainty in knowing exactly who you are, unapologetic self-acceptance. So stop repressing, start exploring and taking in self-pleasure. Kiss Principle #5: Fad Diets are no longer in fashion, honey! Fad diets are not sustainable, they wreak havoc mentally, physically, and emotionally. Instead, focus on building sustainable healthy lifestyle habits that will save the dollars in your pocket and also help you enjoy life without the guilt, the shaming, or the lack. Kiss Principle #6: Let go of past screw-ups. Time to look ahead! We cannot change the past… and we cannot control the future entirely. So let it go. Focus on what you can control — the ability to rock your body, your life with your mindset, with self-love, with confidence. Instead, acknowledge what happened… sit with it for a few minutes if you like, but take a deep breath and then let it go. Set the stage to do better tomorrow and the next day and the next day. Show up at 100% in all areas of your life, for yourself. PS. if you loved this episode, share, share, share away!
