when you just don't "feel" like doing the thing you need to do
Hear this- we are now more in tune with our five senses than we have every been before... We mostly speak out of our sight, what we see, observe what we hear, what we feel, touch what we taste. The the five senses dominate. And so we speak constantly and share with others how we "feel" about something. Ex:  "I just, I didn't feel like going to the gym, I feel like an imposter, I feel like my business is struggling, I feel like indulging in bad habits. I'm just so blah blah blah" What are we, we live in the realm of the rationale of the emotional.  Every day in the hospital people are always asking me how I feel… I don’t care how I feel. My feelings have no power over my path. do you want more money? do prospects say your price is too high? listen up
This week on NLP For Entrepreneurs hosted by Klyn Elsbury I took an introduction call this week with a talented business owner who was ready to invest in business coaching with me, knew the value, wanted the services, and I could tell the only thing holding her back wasn't money but her interpretation around money.   Rather than confront it head on, I recommended reading material and then created this podcast to coach her through her limiting beliefs about the abundance of money. This week on NLP For Entrepreneurs hosted by Klyn Elsbury  how to build trust, prioritize your ideas & keep your word I believe the most successful entrepreneurs and sales people understand that when they make plans or have an idea - they act on it.  We talk all the time on NLP for Entrepreneurs that the biggest difference between those who talk and those are successful is how much they walk what they talk... follow me?  In San Diego, there's something known as the "flake factor".  So many people set a plan to meet up and cancel last minute or no show.  I don't think it's necessarily that we are surrounded by flakes who aren't acting with integrity- it's more we don't understand the level of commitment to meet.   Additionally, when you have a call with a good coach and ideas come up - you need to understand how to prioritize those ideas into levels to decipher what to act on and what to forget about or postpone.  Everything should be categorized as a commitment level - if not -it's open to interpretation and unclear expectations lead to lack of trust, communication, and can destroy relationships with others and yourself.  Today's episode breaks down how to create a plan and know what to do with the abundance of information and tools out there- so you have a system that propels you forward instead of leaving you stuck.  Klyn discusses 5 levels of commitment: 1.  Idea-ish 2.  Understanding why the idea is valuable 3.  Creating a loose plan 4.  Creating a plan with a scapegoat 5.  Solid AF plan, no back down.  In true Shark School style, we explain all of the different interpretations and HOW you can apply some of the methodologies and principles to your biz asap. How to motivate a sales team with Klyn Elsbury
This week on SHARK SCHOOL… When it comes to motivation- we tend to think that motivating sales teams or milestones is best done through throwing a party to recognize top performers or having a giant celebration.  Celebrations are essentially worthless. A friend of mine in a sales focused company happens to be celebrating a top 5 month. Another friend of mine, vp of sales for a fortune 100, celebrating  crushing team goals despite a quota increase. And, I’m going to open up a bit about a personal celebration. So depending on the news I get literally any moment now, it may be cause for one heck of a celebration tonight. But should it?  And here’s the contrarian viewpoint for the day:   You should not celebrate anything unless the celebration is caused by a dramatic change in a system, process, or viewpoint. Failure is NOT an accomplishment, accomplishment is an accomplishment with Klyn Elsbury
This week on SHARK SCHOOL… Failure Is NOT Something to Strive For Scrolling Instagram today I came across a rather interesting caption. As someone with a 43 module online course on how to market and sell using social media, I naturally am keen to paying attention to peoples stories and how they leverage them for their brand. And I read this: "Formula for success: increase your rate of failure. You have to fail to be successful. Like you have to . like you have to drink water to live, you have to fail to be successful. So don’t let fear of failure hold you back because you have to fail if you want to be successful at anything. Its mandatory. Its non negotiable." Thank goodness this did not come from one of my Sharks because I would pick up the phone instantly and discuss with them how their pursuit of failure is ultimately, why they haven’t succeeded. Their model of the world, emphasized failing instead of success around systems and processes. And for that- Todays episode explores this culture we have as a society that I will affectionally call Failure (Expletive). It's a confusing concept to most at first, and yet there are those who really dive into discovering what it is and how it can be used to bring them closer to the people they love and the business they want.  If you are confused at first,  recognize that the confusion means you want to learn and that by owning it, you are already learning. In true Shark School style, we explain all of the different interpretations and HOW you can apply some of the methodologies and principles to your every day life immediately. Cuz if you can't apply this stuff, what's the point?! Here were the exercise questions: 1. Think of the last time you considered you failed. 2. Can you remember a specific time? 3. As you go back to that time, I want you to hear what you heard, see what you saw, feel what you felt in the moment you knew you failed. 4. Now, pause. Think of someone who is succeeding at exactly the thing you want to succeed it. What did they do that you did not? 5. Specifically, what did they do, how did they respond, what actions did they take, what sacrifices did they make? 6. And are you committed to doing the exact same thing? Why giving an employee a counter offer doesn't work (& what to do about it)
