「Rejoice the soul of Your servant,For to You,

　O Lord, I lift up my soul.」　Amen.

　When does your soul rejoice? Isn't it when we are assured that our sins are forgiven, that we are given eternal life, and that the path to heaven is prepared for us? It is a time of peace, contentment, and hope for the future. If someone were to show me a video of the path I have been on, I would run away in shame. But to know that there is One who loves me and will spend time with me in heaven is nothing but joy.

　May the joy of the Lord be my joy today as well.

『このしもべのたましいを喜ばせてください。

　主よ　私のたましいはあなたを仰ぎ求めています。』

　「たましいが喜ぶ」のは、どんな時でしょうか。それは、罪赦され、永遠の命が与えられ、天国への道が備えられていることが確信された時ではないでしょうか。そこには、平安があり、満たされた思いがあり、未来への希望で満ち溢れているからです。今まで歩んできた道をビデオで映されたとしたら、恥ずかしくて逃げてしまいます。でも、そんな私でも愛してくださり、天国で共に過ごしてくださるお方がいるということは、喜び以外何ものでもありません。

　今日も、主の喜びが我が喜びとなりますように・・・。　

「Bow down Your ear, O Lord, hear me;

　For I am poor and needy.」　Amen.

It would be lonely if no one listened to you. But even if someone does listen to you about yourself, they may not really understand you. My late wife understood everything when I said a few words to her. God is like that. From the time you are in the womb to the time you are in heaven, God knows everything, He is always by your side, and He is watching over you.

　Today, may we communicate our thoughts to the Lord who hears us.

『【主】よ　耳を傾けて　私に答えてください。

　私は苦しみ　貧しいのです。』

　自分の話に誰も耳を傾けてくれないとしたら、寂しいものです。でも、自分の事に関して耳を傾けてくれる人がいたとしても、本当のところは理解できていないこともあります。今は亡き妻だったら、一言言ったら、すべてを理解してくれました。神様は、そんなお方です。自分が胎内にいる時から、天に召された後まで、すべてをご存じで、いつも傍にいてくださり、見守ってくださるお方なのです。

　今日も、耳を傾けて下さる主に、思いを伝えることができますように・・・

『【主】が 良いものを下さるので

私たちの大地は産物を産み出します。』

苦難の中で神に叫び求めると、神が介入してくださり、平安が戻ってきます。神への従順度が高ければ高いほど、神の祝福の現れは明らかになるのです。それが、ここでは歌われています。「マタ6:33 まず神の国と神の義を求めなさい。そうすれば、これらのものはすべて、それに加えて与えられます。」イエス様が語られたように、すべてのことは神が面倒を見てくれるのです。

今日も、主の御手の中で過ごされますように・・・。　

『15:22 モーセはイスラエルを葦の海から旅立たせた。彼らはシュルの荒野へ出て行き、三日間、荒野を歩いた。しかし、彼らには水が見つからなかった。15:23 彼らはマラに来たが、マラの水は苦くて飲めなかった。それで、そこはマラという名で呼ばれた。15:24 民はモーセに向かって「われわれは何を飲んだらよいのか」と不平を言った。15:25 モーセが【主】に叫ぶと、【主】は彼に一本の木を示された。彼がそれを水の中に投げ込むと、水は甘くなった。主はそこで彼に掟と定めを授け、そこで彼を試み、15:26 そして言われた。「もし、あなたの神、【主】の御声にあなたが確かに聞き従い、主の目にかなうことを行い、また、その命令に耳を傾け、その掟をことごとく守るなら、わたしがエジプトで下したような病気は何一つあなたの上に下さない。わたしは【主】、あなたを癒やす者だからである。」』

私たちは、この世で生活しているとマラは必ずやってくるものです。その時に、どのように考えるかが大切なことです。神様がマラに導きました。だから、感謝してマラを受け入れることです。そして、一本の木、十字架を入れるとマラは甘くなるのです。マイナスの出来事がプラスに変えられるのです。全てが益となるのです。

お祈り致します。

愛する天のお父様、み名を崇め感謝します。私たちの人生にマラはつきものです。でも、うろたえることなく、神様の導きであることを覚え、感謝し、十字架を入れることができますようにお導き願います。この祈りを主イエス・キリストのお名前によってお祈り致します。　アーメン。

『あなたは　御民の咎を担い

　すべての罪を　おおってくださいます。セラ』

　まさにイエス様は、私達人類の罪を赦すためにこの世に降りてこられました。イエス様という存在がなかったら、私たちは罪の中にいて、その罪の支配から逃れられずに、今もなおもがいていることでしょう。新改訳では、4節に「私たちを生き返らせてください」とあります。肉的には生きていますが、霊的に死んだままの私たちを生き返らせてくださるのは、イエス様だけなのです。

　今日も、イエス様の十字架の愛に思いを巡らすことができますように・・・。　

『まことに　あなたの大庭にいる一日は

　千日にまさります。

　私は悪の天幕に住むよりは

　私の神の家の門口に立ちたいのです。』

　作者は、今、どこで歌っているのでしょうか。異教の地で故郷の神殿を思い浮かべながら歌っているのでしょうか。今いる場所が、たとえ異教の地であっても、たとえ苦難の真っ只中であったとしても、創造主なる神様に祈ることができる人は幸いです。神様と自分との関係が明確な人は幸いです。「ヘブル12:2 信仰の創始者であり完成者であるイエスから、目を離さないでいなさい。」

　今日も、あなたの大庭に入ることができますように・・・。　

「That they may know that You,

　whose name alone is the Lord,

　Are the Most High over all the earth.」　Amen.

　"They" are the surrounding nations that were trying to destroy the nation of Judah." "They" were inflicting various hardships on Judah. The more intense the tribulation, the more we pray to God, but if our trust in God is great in times of peace, the tribulation will not come. Perhaps because of human nature, history repeats itself: peace, corruption, tribulation, prayer, intervention, and peace.

　May today be another day of trusting in the Lord as well.

『こうして彼らが知りますように。

　その名が【主】であるあなただけが

　全地の上におられる　いと高き方であることを。』

　「彼ら」とは、ユダの国を滅ぼそうとしていた周りの国々でした。「彼ら」は、ユダの国にあらゆる苦難を与えていました。苦難が強ければ強いほど、神への祈りの度合いは強まってきますが、平和な時から神への信頼度が高ければ、苦難もやってこないのです。でも、人間の性なんでしょうか。平安→堕落→苦難→祈り→介入→平安の繰り返しの歴史があるのです。

　今日も、主に信頼する一日となりますように・・・。　　

「Do not keep silent, O God!

　Do not hold Your peace,

　And do not be still, O God!」　Amen.

　This song must have been sung in a situation like "under siege" with enemies all around. In our life on earth, we must live in the midst of hostile people, coronas, and viruses. When we are in real pain, we are tempted to cry out against God's silence. However, God protects v.3; His sheltered ones, like His eyes and allows them to rest in the shade of His wings.

　May we feel His peace today as well.

『神よ沈黙していないでください。

　黙っていないでください。

　神よ　黙り続けないでください。』

　「四面楚歌」というような状況、周りは敵だらけ、そんな中で歌われたものだと思われます。地上生涯においては、敵対する人たちやコロナやウイルス充満の中で過ごさなければなりません。本当に苦しい時に神の沈黙に叫びたくなります。しかし、「神にかくまわれている者」(3節)を神様は瞳のように守り、御翼の陰で休ませてくださるのです。

　今日も、主の安きを感じる事ができますように・・・。　

「God stands in the congregation of the mighty;

　He judges among the gods.」　Amen.

　This scene raises many questions. In the Book of Job, angels and even Satan came before God for a meeting. God granted Satan's wish. It is an unreasonable judgement from the perspective of this world, but Job will ultimately be blessed twice as much. Even if you has no blessings on earth, you will have a blessed house in heaven if he believes in God the Creator.

　May we look up to our heavenly home today.

『神は　神の会議の中に立ち

　神々のただ中でさばきを下す。』

　いろいろな疑問が湧いてきそうな場面です。ヨブ記の中では、神の前に、み使いたちやサタンまでやってきて、会議をしています。そこで、神は、サタンの願いを許すのです。それは、地上的には理不尽ともいえる裁きですが、最終的には二倍の祝福を得ることとなるのです。地上の人生では、何の祝福もなかったとしても、創造主なる神様を信じれば、天においては祝福された住まいが備えられているのです。

　今日も、天の故郷を見上げつつ過ごすことができますように・・・。

「He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat;

　And with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you.」　Amen.

　The finest wheat is a delight. The "honey on the rocks" is rare, and you will want to offer it to those closest to you, those you trust the most, and those you love the most. The person who receives it will be full in body and soul. But God says that no matter what state we are in, He will provide us with the best things at the best time and in the best way. Then we will be filled spiritually, physically, and soulishly.

　Today, may we be prepared in the Lord, spirit, body, and soul....

『しかし主は　最良の小麦を御民に食べさせる。

　わたしは岩から滴る蜜で　あなたを満ち足らせる。』

「最も良質な小麦」は、喜ばしいものであり。「岩の上の蜜」は、珍しいものであり、一番近しい人、一番信頼する人、一番愛する人に、捧げたくなるものでしょう。それをいただいた人は心も体も満ち足りることでしょう。でも、神様は、たとえ、私たちがどんな状態であろうと、一番良いものを一番良い時に一番良い方法で備えて下さるというのです。そうすると、霊的にも肉的にも魂的にも、満ち足りるのです。

　今日も、主にあって、霊・肉・魂が整えられますように・・・。　

『5:4 私は激しく泣いた。その巻物を開くにも、見るにも、ふさわしい者がだれも見つからなかったからである。5:5 すると、長老の一人が私に言った。「泣いてはいけません。ご覧なさい。ユダ族から出た獅子、ダビデの根が勝利したので、彼がその巻物を開き、七つの封印を解くことができます。」』

お祈りします。

  愛する天のお父様、み名を崇め感謝します。神様が良き神様であり、私たちの人生を良きもので満たしてくださいますから感謝します。あなたの限りなき愛ゆえに御ひとり子であるイエス様をこの世に送ってくださって感謝します。私たち、罪人を救う為にイエス様は十字架に架かり、死んで墓に葬られ、三日目に蘇ってくださって感謝します。死から勝利し、その向こうに復活という希望を与えて下さってありがとうございます。そして、今も生きて働いていますから感謝します。この世の中で生きていくには厳しいものがありますが、あなたのみ言葉によって、この道に進め、この道に歩めと語っていますから感謝します。あなたは、私たちに禍ではなく、平安を与える計画であり、将来と希望を与える計画を備えて下さってますから感謝します。このめまぐるしく移り変わる世の中にあって、あなたのみ言葉は変わることなき約束ですから信じ切ることができますようにお導き願います。絶えず祈り、いつも喜び、すべての事に感謝できますようにお願いします。今日の礼拝を感謝し、すべてを感謝し、主イエス・キリストのお名前によってお祈り致します。　アーメン。

「I am the Lord your God,

　Who brought you out of the land of Egypt;

　Open your mouth wide,

　and I will fill it.」　Amen.

　God and the Israelites made a covenant. If the people observed the terms of the covenant, blessings were given; if they did not, hardship came.

The covenant was to be fulfilled no matter how much the people complied with the covenant. No matter how much the people did not comply with the covenant, the covenant was not broken. That is because of the love of God, who is patient. The God who brought them out of Egypt says, "Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.  All we have to do is open our mouths wide. God is the one who fills us.

　May we trust Him fully today as well.

『わたしは　あなたの神　【主】である。

　わたしが　あなたをエジプトの地から連れ上った。

　あなたの口を大きく開けよ。

　わたしが　それを満たそう。』

　神様とイスラエルの民は契約を結びました。民が契約事項を遵守すれば祝福が与えられ、遵守しなければ苦難がやってきます。この契約は、民がどんなに遵守しなくても、契約破棄には至らないのです。それは、忍耐強い神様の愛に依ることなのです。そのエジプトから脱出させた神様が、「口を大きく開けよ、私が満たそう」と言われるのです。私たちは、ただ口を大きく開けるだけで良いのです。満たしてくださるのは、神様なのです。

　今日も、主を信じ切ることができますように・・・。　

「Then we will not turn back from You;

　Revive us,

　and we will call upon Your name.」　Amen.

　It must have been a natural prayer for them to seek the God they believed in, in a strange land, unfamiliar customs, and a different religion. Without experience, we can only make analogies, but it must have been difficult for them to express their hardship, pain, and suffering in words. All they could do is pray.

　May we continue to pray to the Lord again today.

『私たちはあなたから離れ去りません。

　私たちを生かしてください。

　私たちはあなたの御名を呼び求めます。』

　自国は崩壊し、神殿は焼失し、人々は捕囚となり、他国での生活を余儀なくされています。慣れない土地、慣れない慣習、慣れない宗教、その中にあって、自分らが信じる神様を求めることは当然の祈りではなかったのでしょうか。そんな経験がない私たちには、類推するしかありませんが、その苦難、苦痛、苦慮は言葉で表現するには難しいのではないでしょうか。祈るしかないのです。

　今日も、主に祈り続けることができますように・・・。　

「Restore us, O God;

　Cause Your face to shine,

　And we shall be saved!」　Amen.

　"Cause Your face to shine" is sung three times in Psalm 80. The nations have perished, the people have been taken away. We are in a desperate situation." Restore us," they sang urgently. They longed for national restoration and spiritual awakening. But there are things that God must accomplish, and there are things that man must accomplish. God's hand will not move unless people turn to the Lord.

　May the hand of the Lord guide us today!

『神よ　私たちを元に戻し

　御顔を照り輝かせてください。

　そうすれば　私たちは救われます。』

　「御顔を照り輝かせてください」と８０篇では3回歌われています。国は滅亡し、破壊され、人々は連れ去られました。絶望的な状況です。「私たちを元に戻し」と、切実に歌っています。国の回復と霊的覚醒を待ち望んでいるのです。しかしながら、神が成すべきことと人が成すべきことがあるのです。人が主に立ち返らない限り神の御手は動かないのです。

　今日も、主の御手に導かれますように・・・。

「So we, Your people and sheep of Your pasture,

Will give You thanks forever;

We will show forth Your praise to all generations.」　Amen.

　In 586 BC, Jerusalem was destroyed by Babylon. The temple was destroyed and the remaining people were taken to a foreign country, Babylon. In the midst of such despair, they were convinced of God's salvation and pledged praise and thanksgiving in this song. God's salvation became a reality, and 70 years later, they were allowed to return, the temple was rebuilt, and hope arose that a Savior, Jesus, would be born from the lineage of David of the tribe of Judah!

　May we be mindful of the Lord's plan today as well.

『私たちは　あなたの民　あなたの牧場の羊です。

　私たちは　とこしえまでもあなたに感謝し

　代々限りなく　あなたの誉れを語り告げます。』

　ＢＣ５８６年にエルサレムは、バビロンによって滅ぼされました。神殿は破壊され、残された人々は異郷の地バビロンへと連れ去られました。そんな絶望の中にあって、神の救済を確信して、賛美と感謝を捧げる事を誓う歌なのです。神の救済は現実のものとなりました。70年後に帰還が許され、神殿再建が許され、このユダ族のダビデの家系から救い主イエス様が誕生するという希望が生まれるのです。

　今日も、主のご計画に心を留めることができますように・・・。　

「Pour out Your wrath on the nations that do not know You,

　And on the kingdoms that do not call on Your name.」　Amen.

　Asaph sought God's judgment. It was against another nation. But Judah, his own nation, was actually judged. For the chief priests and all the people of Judah were idolaters, insulting God's messengers, despising God's word, and making fun of the prophets. God's temple was burned, Jerusalem was destroyed, and the survivors were taken to Babylon.

　May we be in the Lord's hands today.

『どうか　あなたの激しい憤りを注いでください。

　あなたを知らない国々に。

　御名を呼び求めない王国の上に。』

　アサフは神様の裁きを求めました。それは、他国に対してでした。でも、実際に裁かれたのは、自国のユダだったのです。それは、ユダの祭司長全員と民が偶像礼拝に走り、遣わされた神の使者たちを侮り、神のみことばを蔑み、預言者たちを物笑いにしたからです。神の宮は焼かれ、エルサレムは壊され、生き残った者たちはバビロンへと連れていかれたのです。

　今日も、主の御手の中で過ごされますように・・・。

『けれども　彼らはいと高き神を試み

　神に逆らい

　そのさとしを守らなかった。』

　55節までは、神様が民をいかに守り、今まで導いてきたかを語っています。しかしながら、民は神を試み、逆らい、さとしを守らなかったというのです。人間は、創造主なる神様に造られ、エデンの園という安心安全な場所で暮らしていましたが、結局、神様を離れることを選択したのです。平安、堕落、叫び、介入、平安というサイクルを繰り返しています。主の恵みを忘れる事が出来ないようにしたいものです。

　今日も、主の恵みを数えることができますように・・・。　

『4:17 「わたしはあなたを多くの国民の父とした」と書いてあるとおりです。彼は、死者を生かし、無いものを有るものとして召される神を信じ、その御前で父となったのです。4:18 彼は望み得ない時に望みを抱いて信じ、「あなたの子孫は、このようになる」と言われていたとおり、多くの国民の父となりました。4:19 彼は、およそ百歳になり、自分のからだがすでに死んだも同然であること、またサラの胎が死んでいることを認めても、その信仰は弱まりませんでした。4:20 不信仰になって神の約束を疑うようなことはなく、かえって信仰が強められて、神に栄光を帰し、4:21 神には約束したことを実行する力がある、と確信していました。』

「You led Your people like a flock

　By the hand of Moses and Aaron.」　Amen.

They crossed the Sea of Reeds by the miracle of God. Until then, there had been a Passover and many miracles and battles before they reached the land of Canaan. Overcoming all of them, they arrived at the Promised Land. To remember such miracles of God, festivals, worship services, and stone monuments have been passed down from generation to generation. It has continued to the present day. Through them we remember God's power, protection, and love.

May we count the Lord's blessings today.

『あなたは　モーセとアロンの手によって

　ご自分の民を　羊の群れのように導かれました。』

　神様の奇跡によって、葦の海を渡りました。それまでに過ぎ越しがあり、また、カナンの地へたどり着くまでには、数々の奇跡や戦いがあり、すべてを乗り越えて約束の地へ到達したのです。その神様の奇跡を忘れないように、祭りや礼拝や石碑などで、世代から世代へ伝えられてきたのです。それは現代でも続いているのです。それによって、神様の力、守り、愛を思い出すのです。

　今日も、主の恵みを数えることができますように・・・。　

「In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord;

　My hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing;

　My soul refused to be comforted.」　Amen.

　When we are deeply troubled, we pray to the Lord, but we also want to be comforted by others. However, the comfort of others is often superficial and not comforting. Job was in a similar situation. He got into an argument with some friends who came to comfort him. It was then that God began to speak to him. That is when he had an encounter with the true God and received comfort. True comfort comes from God.

　May we be healed by the Lord's comfort today as well.

『苦難の日に　私は主を求め

　夜もすがら　たゆまず手を差し伸ばした。

　けれども　私のたましいは慰めを拒んだ。』

　本当に苦しい時に、主に祈りますが、誰かに慰められたい気持ちも出てきます。でも、人の慰めは、表面的で慰めにならないことが多々あるのです。ヨブもそうでした。慰めに来た友人たちとの論争になってしまったのです。そんな時に神様が語り始められました。そこに真の神様との出会いがあり、慰めを得たのです。本当の慰めは、やはり神様からくるのです。

　今日も、主の慰めに心癒されますように・・・。　

「Make vows to the Lord your God,

　and pay them;」　Amen.

　Life is a series of choices and decisions. What to choose and how to make decisions at each time of employment, marriage, and child rearing are heavy decisions. But we have to make decisions. What about our relationship with God and ourselves? When I met God, when I confessed my faith in Him, when I made the decision to devote myself to Him, I jumped in without knowing what to expect. But the foundation of this decision was trust in God.

　May we continue to put our trust in the Lord today as well.

『あなたがたの神　【主】に

　誓いを立て　それを果たせ。』

　人生は、選択と決断の連続です。就職、結婚、子育て、それぞれの時に何を選択し、どう決断をするのか、重い判断です。でも、決断しなければならないのです。では、神様と自分との関係ではどうでしょうか。神様と出会った時、神様への信仰を告白した時、神様への献身を決意した時、何も分からずに飛び込んでいったのです。でも、この決断の土台には、神への信頼があったのです。

　今日も、主に信頼を寄せることができますように・・・。

「The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved;

　I set up its pillars firmly. Selah」　Amen.

  These are "shaky times. The world is shaking. Politics, the economy, institutions, ideology, and the environment are all "shaking times," and people's anxiety is only increasing. Especially, those who have no foundation and those who have nothing to believe in are becoming more and more anxious. The Bible says, “I set up its pillars firmly.” God will make you a person who is unshakable, a person who can be relied upon like a pillar of the earth. If God is on your side, you will be secure no matter what happens.

May we entrust ourselves to the Lord's hand today as well.

『地とそこに住むすべての者が揺らぐとき

　わたしが　地の柱を堅く立てる。　セラ』

　今や、「揺れ動く時代」です。世界が揺れ動いています。政治が経済が体制が思想が環境が、この「揺れ動く時代」の中で人々の不安は増すばかりです。特に土台の無い人、信じるものがない人は、一層不安です。聖書は言うのです。「わたしが　地の柱を堅く立てる」と。揺れ動かない人、地の柱のように頼りになる人にしてくださるというのです。神様が味方ならば、何があっても、大安心です。

　今日も、主の御手に委ねることができますように・・・。

「The day is Yours, the night also is Yours;

　You have prepared the light and the sun.」　Amen.　

　When Job could not find a solution, God appeared and showed him the work of creation. There are times when we too cannot move forward even though we pray and pray, or when we cannot bear God's silence. At such times, we say, "Let there be light! and remember the Creator God who prepared the day and night, the moon and the sun, and count each grace He has given us. God is at work not only in creation, but also in our lives today.

　May we remember His grace today as well.

『昼はあなたのもの　夜もあなたのもの。

　あなたは月と太陽を備えられました。』

　ヨブがどうしても解を見つけられない時、神様は現れ、創造の業を見せて下さいました。私達も祈っても祈っても前へ進めない時や、神様の沈黙に耐えられない時があります。そんな時には、「光あれ！」と言って創造の業を行い、昼も夜も、月も太陽も備えられた創造主なる神様の事を覚え、神様が私たちにしてくださった恵みの一つ一つを数えてみましょう。神様は、創造の時だけではなく、今の私たちの生活の中でも働いておられるのです。

　今日も、主の恵みを思い出しますように・・・。

「Truly God is good to Israel,

To such as are pure in heart.」　Amen.

The title is "Asaph's Hymn". Asaph was one of the leaders of David's choir of Levites. The hymn of Asaph continues through Psalm 83. He says that God is in control of this world, but the reality is that it is hard for the faithful. This is an eternal theme, but the word "truly" has the connotation of "I knew it. ” We often wonder why, but when we look up to God, we will feel again, "I knew it was so."

May we look up to the Lord today as well.

『まことに  神はいつくしみ深い。

イスラエルに  心の清らかな人たちに。』

表題には、「アサフの賛歌」とあります。アサフは、ダビデの、レビ人による聖歌隊のひとつの指導者でした。このアサフの賛歌が83篇まで続くのです。神様がこの世界を支配しておられるのに、現実は信仰者にとっては辛いものだと言うのです。これは、永遠のテーマですが、「まことに」という言葉には「やはりそうだった」とい意味合いがあります。「どうして」と思う気持ちが多々芽生えますが、神様を見上げる時、「やはりそうだった」と改めて感じる時がくるのです。

今日も、主を見上げて過ごすことができますように・・・。

『11:25 イエスは彼女に言われた。「わたしはよみがえりです。いのちです。わたしを信じる者は死んでも生きるのです。11:26 また、生きていてわたしを信じる者はみな、永遠に決して死ぬことがありません。あなたは、このことを信じますか。」』

イエス様は、死んで墓に葬られ、三日目に蘇りました。この事は事実なのです。そして、復活の主に出会った人々は変えられました。力を得る事が出来ました。希望を持つことができました。復活の主は、今も働いておられ、私達と共におられるのです。永遠の命を与える真の救い主であることを証明されたのです。

愛する天のお父様、み名を崇め感謝します。このイースターの時に、復活の主に出会って弟子たちが変えられたことを示してくださいましてありがとうございます。どんな状況の中にあっても希望がありますから感謝します。すべてを感謝し、主イエス・キリストのお名前によってお祈りします。

「15:42 Now when evening had come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath,

 15:43 Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, coming and taking courage, went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.」　Amen.

　The day began at sunset. It was already evening. Before the Sabbath began, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus buried Jesus' body with great care in a new tomb on the west side of Golgotha Hill. Joseph of Arimathea was one of the leading legislators, and Nicodemus was the one who once visited Jesus in the middle of the night and was taught the gospel of the Kingdom of God and the depths of the new birth.

　May we all be mindful of the Lord's plan for us today.

『15:42 さて、すでに夕方になっていた。その日は備え日、すなわち安息日の前日であったので、15:43 アリマタヤ出身のヨセフは、勇気を出してピラトのところに行き、イエスのからだの下げ渡しを願い出た。ヨセフは有力な議員で、自らも神の国を待ち望んでいた。』

  一日の始まりは日没からです。もうすでに夕方になっていました。安息日が始まる前に、アリマタヤのヨセフとニコデモはイエス様のご遺体をゴルゴダの丘の西側の新しい墓に手厚く葬ったのです。アリマタヤのヨセフは有力な議員の一人であり、ニコデモは、かつて深夜にイエス様を訪ね、神の国の福音と新生の奥義を教えられた人だったのです。

　今日も、主のご計画に思いを寄せることができますように・・・。　

「So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.」　Amen.

　It was a long Friday. Before dawn he was arraigned by the high priests, flogged and mocked. Early in the morning there was the trial of Pilate and the inquisition of Herod, and at about 9:00 a.m. He was crucified. Then, about six hours later, at about 3:00 p.m., He gave up His spirit with the final words, "It is finished." It was truly a death on the cross to atone for the sins of humankind. He died as our substitute.

　May we ponder Jesus' death on the cross today as well.

『イエスは酸いぶどう酒を受けると、「完了した」と言われた。そして、頭を垂れて霊をお渡しになった。』

　長い金曜日となりました。夜明け前、大祭司らの審問を受け、鞭で打たれ嘲りを受けました。早朝にはピラトの裁判とヘロデの審問があり、午前9時ごろ十字架に架けられました。そして、約６時間後の午後3時ごろ、「完了した」という最後の言葉を残して霊をお渡しになりました。それは、まさに人類の罪を贖うための十字架の死でした。私たちの身代わりとなって死なれたのです。

　今日も、イエス様の十字架の死に思いを巡らすことができますように・・・。

「Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, "Sit here while I go and pray over there."」　Amen.

On Thursday evening, the Last Supper took place. It marked the end of the Old Testament Supper and instituted the new "Lord's Supper. This is the sacrament we have today. Then, about 8 or 9 o'clock at night, He went to Gethsemane, between the valley of Kederon and the foot of the Mount of Olives, to pray. Matthew 26:39: "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." Jesus was then arrested and taken away.

May we know the will of Jesus today as well.
