In this episode, I introduce two methods of practicing Korean. It's perfect for people who love Korean dramas and K-Pop.

I also improved my Korean pronunciation through this method and I hope it's helpful to you as well. :)

Today I bring on an old college friend, Steven, who’s been living in Korea for over three years. Fast forward to 2022 and he got married to a Korean woman, had a super cute baby and even started his own businesses in the country! I talked with Steven about how it’s like living in Korea as a foreigner, starting a multicultural family in Korea, and working in the country.

Today I am joined by my former Korean tutor, Baek Jinhee. She helped me improve my Korean essay writing skills last year and we’ve become good friends in the process. She is the type of teacher to go above and beyond for her students and because of her, I’ve become a better writer and learner of Korean.

In this episode, we talk about our experiences meeting online as well as her tips for learning Korean so stay tuned to hear from a real Korean teacher on how to do just that!

What place comes to mind when you think of Korea?

To me, that place is Bukhansan. My first hike up the mountain is still to this day a fond memory I look back on. I'd like to share my experience at Bukhansan with you today.

Sanchita started learning Korean in 2019 and when the pandemic hit, she took to the web to find partners to practice her Korean with. This led to her cofounding GLEX2020, a global language exchange community. Their goal is to provide accessible language learning opportunities to people around the world.

I sit down with Sanchita to discuss how it all started, what roadblocks she faced along the way, and how her Korean's been doing.

After all the dust was settled, it was estimated that over 2 million people died from the Korean War. Today, my friend Shinyeong joins us in discussing the history of the Korean War from inception to the aftermath. There's a surprising group of agents involved in the war that I never thought about before, too.

What's life been like for foreigners in Korea during COVID? My ex-coworkers Shuang and Sangya talk about their lives teaching at an English academy and how life has changed in the COVID era.

Ever felt like your life was TOO safe? That's what Anis and Sequoia felt before they went to Korea. Both knew they wanted a change. Where? What better place than one where you don't know the language, the food, or the lifestyle?

Their curiosity and willingness to explore new cultures, cuisines, and countries had them pack their bags and move 6,000 miles across the Pacific to teach in Korea. Despite not knowing much Korean when they first came, they were able to quickly adapt to the new food and lifestyle in Korea. Today they share their experience living in Korea and what places to hit up when you're in town!

Why do we do nice things? Is it just for our own gain? Doing nice things for others...actually makes us happier, too. Today I share a story that speaks to exactly that. We're all sharing one world and one life. Let's help each other along the way.
