Following Your Intuition Even When You're Scared
Tonsil stones are known to impact 10% (probably closer to 20%!) of the US population — this common yet overlooked issue primarily affects women. Sydney Forbes was frustrated with the lack of education and options for people dealing with this issue and is empowering individuals to take control of their well-being by breaking the silence around this taboo subject and creating her own category within oral care.
After earning a degree in Bioengineering from Oregon State University, Sydney is now challenging the outdated, male-dominated oral care industry, with her fresh perspective and specifically designed solutions for removing tonsil stones.
We talk about how Sydney started getting in touch with her intuition in college, how it led her to finding her business partner & the difficulty of being the one to navigate an unknown path.

My Dad's Actions Turned Into My Mindset
I had a dark memory from my past surface last week completely unannounced. One I’ve fucking avoided for the better part of 20 years.
It came up during a walk around my neighborhood and I thought, “This is wrong. This isn’t what I was trying to think about…”
But this time, instead of backing away and being content with not exploring that pitch black corner…I walked towards it and stood there. Crying. Knowing I wasn’t the only one there. Staring into the space…waiting for my eyes to adjust.
I decided to work through my beliefs around this memory out loud and put it out on the podcast today to hold myself accountable, not just in the light, joyful work, but in the not so pretty side of healing.

Living With Autism
Erik Raschke puts parenting first and foremost. He is the father of 3 children and the oldest has severe autism. Two years ago he moved from Amsterdam to New Jersey so his 12 year old autistic son could receive a better education. If they stayed in the Netherlands, his future was a group home, but in NJ he has a shot at independence. Today, his son is learning and getting an education and it is truly amazing. Erik wrote a book, To The Mountain, inspired by his own experiences as a father of a boy with autism. Erik wanted his son to begin answering autism related questions because language is a huge challenge for him. His son was up for the task and joined us for the conversation!

NYC Ballet Dancer
Born in Sioux Falls, SD, Paul applied to a few ballet schools in NY at 14 and relocated to study dance on full scholarship at the Harkness House. He studied on scholarship at the American Ballet Theater School, and finally the School of American Ballet.
Paul has gone on to stage ballets all over the world. He is a kind, loving, passionate man with INSANE talent.
