Many people think that prayer works. However, prayer doesn't work unless you know how prayer works. Then you have to do what the rules of prayer say, to get what the Bible says you'll get.

Is your Pastor lying to you and you don't even know it? What if they were? How would you know? The Bible tells us clearly how to know and a good portion of the church isn't doing what it says.

When unbelievers come to church, they should be uncomfortable. That doesn't man that they are not loved, greeted, and felt welcomed. It has nothing to do with outside feelings and actions. It's an inside, spiritual comfort...or discomfort.

The Bible talks about how to stand when things are falling around you - how to be strong, bold, and courageous.

The only way that the devil can get something int your life - anchored in, is to get you to agree with him. Don't agree with the devil. Agree with God.

Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence is killing people every day. We have been fed a lie by society, the devil, and so many others to believe something about self-confidence, self-esteem, and self value that just isn't true.

Today we are finishing up the long journey that has been "How To Read The Bible The Right Way." Today we are looking at the last two principles of Bible Interpretation:

• The Principle Of Emphasis

• The Principle Of Application

Questions To Ask Yourself:

• What are the benefits and consequences of putting the proper and improper emphasis on a scripture? 


• How can we know how much emphasis to put on specific scriptures? 


• When should we not look to the scriptures as our final authority?

We're almost to the end of this series and today we're going to be looking at Principle #9 and #10.

• The Principle Of Christ
• The Principle Of Spiritual Power

Questions To Ask Yourself:

• How does the entire Bible point to Jesus? 

• Is it appropriate for the Christian to pray to get the victory? Why or why not?

• If the Bible is a supernatural book, God a supernatural God, and supernatural events took place all throughout the Bible, would it be appropriate to expect the supernatural in the world today, in your life? Why or what not? What scriptures back up your response?

Today we are looking at The Principle Of Progressive Revelation, which helps us to realize that God’s purposes become more clear and understandable as time unfolds.

Questions To Ask Yourself:

• Do you think Moses and the Apostle Paul viewed God differently? How so?


• What different revelations do we see throughout scripture?


• How has God revealed Himself to humanity?

Today we are looking at two principles:

• The Principle Of First Mention
• The Principle Of Progressive Revelation

Questions To Ask Yourself:

• Do you think Moses and the Apostle Paul viewed God differently? How so?
  

• What different revelations do we see throughout scripture?
  

• How has God revealed Himself to humanity?

Much more interesting than last episode, today we're talking about the The Principle Of Theological Concepts, which is to embrace spiritual concepts in Scripture not mentioned by name.


Questions To Ask Yourself:

• Are there scriptural, spiritual concepts that aren’t specifically mentioned in the Bible? If so, what are a few of them?


• What role does the Holy Spirit play in Bible Interpretation?


• Can an unbeliever fully understand the Bible like a Christian? How do we know?

Today we are talking about a rule that can be kind of boring, but it's an important rule - The Principle Of History And Grammar. The point of this principle is 'to focus on the original meaning of scripture to help determine what it means to us.'

Questions To Ask Yourself:

• Why is it important to know the history and culture of a specific book of the Bible, scripture?


• What are the three types of literary styles found in the Bible?

We're looking at Principle #3 today, which is The Principle Of Literal Meaning. The point of this principle is ''to determine the plain and evident meaning intended by the author.'

Questions To Ask Yourself:

• Can a scripture have more than one meaning to it? How do we know?


• What are at least two types of Word Studies you can use to study the Bible?


• How can Word Studies help clarify difficult or unclear passages?

We're looking at Principle #2 today, which is The Principle Of Comparison. The point of this principle is 'to compare scripture with scripture to arrive at a balanced view of the meaning of scripture.'

Questions To Ask Yourself:

• What does comparing scripture with scripture actually do?


• When comparing scripture, how many scriptures should you use to clarify an unclear passage?


• Using the Principle of Context, what does Paul mean in Philippians 2:12 when he said, “work out your own salvation”?


• Using the Principle of Comparison, what other scriptures support your previous answer? 

We continue our look at how to Study the Bible the Right Way by finally getting started on Principle #1 of Bible Interpretation. That is the Principle Of Context. The point of this principle is 'to keep the whole Bible in view on any certain subject.'

Questions To Ask Yourself:

• If the Principle of Context is the most violated principle, would it be wise to pay special close attention to using it when reading the Bible? Why, what are the consequences of using it and violating it?


• What are two important “contexts” to know to clarify what a scripture means? 

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. - 2 Timothy 2:15

We're told to rightly divide the Word of God, but in what ways do we divide it? That's what we're looking at today.

Questions To Ask Yourself:

• What are all of the different ways that the Bible is divided?

• How can we tell if something is from the devil or if it is from God?

• What are the different the two major dispensations, or covenants that divide the Bible? Which one do we live in?

Is The Amplified Bible a reliable translation? What about The Passion translation? We're going to look at that today in this episode of Faith Snack's "How To Read The Bible The Right Way."

Questions To Ask Yourself:

• Is it important to research the Bible translations we use ourselves? Why?

• Do we need to be aware of how a Bible translation was translated? Why?

• What do you think is the minimum of Bible translations you should use to study the Bible?

What Tools Do We Need To Interpret The Bible Properly? Today we're going to look at that question and more. 

Questions To Ask Yourself:

• What tools do you have access to that can help you study the Bible? 

• Where can you find these tools?

• Should we view all of God’s Word as actually happening or as some fictional story to gain truth out of? How do we know?

Why Do We Need To Know How To Interpret The Bible? That's a great question. In this episode, we're going to start looking at the importance of reading the Bible the right way.

Questions To Ask Yourself:

• Why is it important to know how to read the Bible? 

• What happens when we read and study the Bible correctly/incorrectly?

• In your own words, what are the consequences in life of misinterpreting the Bible?
