Books can serve as threads connecting us to both our ancestors and those we are destined to meet for our highest good!

As mentioned in the podcast and on the blog, I am shifting my attention to getting the messages of The Lonely Toadstool and his forest friends out to the next generation.  This includes the formation of the Book Launch Team, publishing details—the whole shebang! These messages will teach our little ones to use their voice, processing their emotions, ask for help, accept support from those around them and believe that it is safe to do so.

The Magic of Books and Reading Aloud…..

We are looking at yet another angle of Books this week—as Portals and Possibilities.

The stories we share with our children plant powerful seeds that can open doors or portals to folks of different backgrounds from all over the world.

The themes contained in well chose picture books can plant seeds in the hearts, minds and spirits of our little ones that will allow them to see EVERYTHING life presents them as a POSSIBILITY.

-Connection with those seemingly like and unlike them.

-Life as always presenting opportunity and adbundance, not lack.

Even those those books we read that are just plain bad, poor and not our favorites are still redeemable as an experience because we shared that time and energy and, ultimately our love in reading that story with our child.

You can read 1,217 books a year, friends- it’s possible!

With the average picture book taking about 3 minutes to read, at about 10 minutes a day, you can share in 1,217 books with the little ones in your life!

Wow!

Cut it down to less than 5 minutes a day, maybe just 1 book and you’re still on a roll!

No one can take the memories away or unlay that foundation that is laid when you read with your child.

They are golden.

In this episode, we’re considering A Book as a Bond...

*How can a picture book create a beautiful bond between family, friends and even folks you've yet to meet?

Remembering…to Invoke Gratitude

Today we are reflecting upon the value of remembering our journey.

We remember for the purpose of honoring ourselves with the gratitude we deserve for all our hearts have encountered and moved through.

Are you allowing this in your life?  If you have avoided it, we’ll look at why this might be and the benefits of doing so now.

Whether you realize it or not, you have grown exponentially in your lifetime.

Your path has not always been easy and acknowledging all of it from a place of gratitude can be healing and expansive.

It’s a good day to celebrate YOU—where you have come from, what you have walked through and where you are headed.

In this episode we are considering where, why and how we might be doing at the expense of ourselves.

This week on IG @weavesunshine and FB Weave Sunshine, we dug deeper into this tendency many of us have as parents, caretakers and folks living in today’s world.

I encourage you to check out those posts to really weave this message into your daily life at a level where you can experience the transformation.  There are “Challenges for a Change” included at the end of each post—prompts and questions to help you go inward and experience real change.  Last week’s episode (Sacred Anger) also has corresponding IG & FB posts available that will do the same.

We overdo, taking from ourselves and don’t think twice about it…..often not even once!

We then forget to include in our days doing the things that nourish our souls, feed our spirits and minds and strengthen our bodies— the very things that bring us joy…our passions!

This takes such a toll on us at levels many of us are not yet aware of.

Our minds might “push/power through”…..however, our bodies do not lie in the long run.

We continue these patterns, burning ourselves out, for many reasons.

Overachievers, perfectionists, people-pleasers, those with co-dependent tendencies, and those who look outside themselves for approval and accolades more easily fall into this pattern.

Today, I touch on the healing and powerful practice of loving and accepting all of ourselves.

A fascinating thing I have found, is that whatever you are judging in another person’s actions or way of being is always something that you can find in yourself.

Sometimes you will have to look at it from different angles or dig a little deeper, but it is always present in some capacity or form.

We don’t and really can’t know why someone acts the way they do or says what they say…often times they don’t know themselves.  We so often and easily create stories around the “whys” and form judgements about them as we try to figure this out.

This keeps everyone feeling heavy and stuck…brings everyone down.

Whenever we feel judgment arising within us, we have a choice to sit and stay in that judgment or move out of it.

We always have that power to choose, and this along with self-love and gentleness brings the healing whole world (us included) needs right now!
