Where he talks about surrounding yourself with people that are faster, stronger, better skilled at whatever you want to get better at.
You have to get uncomfortable to get better
Masculinity vs Femininity
In this episode we dive into the masculine and feminine characteristics of humanity.
Noah had shared a reel with Kye about the femininity of the mother taking care of the child can help breed a more resilient adult later on.
But we had some words to share about that situation and about child development as well as the misconceptions of masculinity and femininity
Have a listen and let us know what you think!

Control Your Emotions
Noah posted a reel with Jocko Willink talking about controlling your emotions. If you lash out in anger or frustration, you will not be taken seriously, according to Jocko.
So in order to stay calm in a situation where you can lash out, we have to learn to control our emotions vs let our emotions control us

Tidbits from last weeks episode
We always start talking about what we just talked about on the podcast and should have just kept recording...
So here is what we talked about after last weeks podcast
Weightloss Journey questions
Noah has been on his weightloss journey and has gotten a lot of questions about it
Got more questions? let us know @chasingfunction on instagram
Kye's trip to Tennessee
Kye recently took a trip down to Tennessee to go see a Regenerative Agriculture Farm and talks about his experience with the slower, laid back lifestyle
We often forget that life and nature are so beautiful and amazing. Sometimes we really do need to just stop and smell the roses
Our Emotional Work journeys
We had gotten a question about how we got to where we are with emotional work.
We both share our journeys into emotional work and how we utilize it in our practices respectively
Semaglutide (Ozempic) Part 2
In this episode we had some follow up questions to Noahs journey with Semaglutide or mostly known as Ozempic
What was the experience like coming off of Semaglutide and were there any repercussions
We also talked about some growth hormones like Tesamorelin and Ipamorelin
Semaglutide
In this episode we get into Peptides, specifically Semiglutide and how it relates to weight loss
Noah has had his experience with this type of peptide and wanted to share what he has studied as well as experienced utilizing this modality
We will be holding an instagram live on our feed to have a Q&A so be on the lookout @chasingfunction
Let us know what you think and send in any questions in advance!
Hospital Troubles
Noah had a bit of a rough night with the healthcare system and wanted to share his experiences
Give it a listen and let us know what you think?
Nutrition Q & A
Today we decided to bring on our baseball players because there were a lot of questions about food and supplementation
So we went over basic nutrition guidelines to help them understand how to plan for their seasons and moving up in competition
Dissassociation
In this episode we dive into pain and disassociation and how big of a problem it truly is
This may be the thing that has been holding you back from getting out of pain and into a space of solvency
Check it out and let us know what you think
Deadlifting is NOT dangerous!!!
In this episode, we talk about some reels that we have seen about villifying the deadlift
But we have so many reasons and case studies that show that deadlifting can be a great tool to use for any age and that we just need to level up as practitioners to be able to coach our clients and patients to doing them safely and effectively
The thoughts of Parenting
We found a very interesting Facebook/Instagram Reel that went well with a conversation that Noah had with one of his patients relationship with their son.
In this episode we talk about parenting, love languages, love tanks and much more
We would love to hear your thoughts!
Endocrinologists, Muscle Medicine and Storytime
In this episode we talk about Noah's experience with doctors and the different issues there are around that.
We mention a lot of different doctors that are making a big impact in the world of hormones and diseases. One of them being Dr. Gabrielle Lyon
-> here is a link to her website https://drgabriellelyon.com/
Noah also mentions the company that he goes to for his bloodwork testing as well as prescription support
-> https://transcendcompany.com/
A deep philosophical dive
This weeks episode is a little deep but a very good conversation

Have a listen and let us know what you think

Heartfelt Vulnerability
Noah had some interesting feels during this holiday season and wanted to share
He wanted to share this in hopes to help others that may be struggling with the way they process their feelings
So if you are struggling and need some help, please reach out to someone you love, someone you trust or a professional that will be able to provide you with the tools to help you
Happy New Year and lets go make 2023 the best year ever!
Level Up!!!
This episode was brought on by an instagram video that was forwarded to Noah by his co workers.
Both Noah and Kye have very strong opinions on how the health and wellness world has laid out the education as well as these "instagram influencers" that are providing information that may be detrimental in the future
So we are not here to say that these influencers are wrong or bad. We want to start a conversation around the knowledge and information about our human bodies and how they function, so that you can make better informed decisions about the info you hear from these influencers
Nutrition Rabbit Hole
So this episode, Kye has many thoughts that have kept him up at night and wanted to get all of it out
Noah has some more knowledge in the area but even the experts in the field are still not 100% sure about nutrition
But as we always say, it depends. Are we really supposed to know 100% about nutrition? maybe...maybe not
Either way we want this to be an eye opening discussion about how we view food and what it means for our bodies
We would love to hear your thoughts
Heart Stuff
Today we get into the heart, and what we normally hear about heart disease and all the other things that go along with that.
But we are hoping to change your mind about the heart and hope that it brings some value to you and shifts your way of thinking about heart disease and what you can do about it.
Disclaimer: we are not Doctors, nor do we give advice about medication. We are hear to provide information we have researched and to use logical progression to shift your way of thinking about your problems. So then you have sound information to make a decision about your health
Cultivating Curiousity
In this episode we dive deep into real life situations and how things can get a little dicey when we have advice from Tik Tok and Instagram Reels.
We discuss that taking a more curious stance on the advice you hear through social media, that you can start to see what will really work for you and what may not work for you
Enjoy and please reach out to us through @chasingfunction on instagram with any feedback, questions or a chat
Is it an obesity epidemic or lack of muscle epidemic?
In this episode, we go into a IG Reel where they lay out a new paridigm of muscle centric medicine
When you start to shift your perspective of trying to "lose" weight to "gaining" muscle, things start to become easier and a lot more "healthy"
We would love to hear your thoughts
Is "stretching" really the answer?
In this episode, we have another IG Reel for you and it is about stretching
While we have believed for many years that we "need" to stretch in order to create more range of motion. Recent studies have shown that stretching really isn't all that great for us
We would love to hear your thoughts
Active Listening
How do you stay motivated?
Noahs Vulnerable
Noah has been getting back into Crossfit but this time has been for a different reason
Metabolism Part 2
When we think about metabolism in a different way, we can start to make some great changes towards our own health and wellbeing
In this episode, we dive deeper into what kind of changes we have seen with our clients/patients and some of the contributing factors
Some of those contributing factors are
Sleep, physical activity, gut health and food intake
Metabolism Part 1
What are some of the things you heard about Metabolism?
We want to show you that Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is a little bit of a better marker to help you on your health and fitness journey
Some references for you
Metabolism is the process by which your body converts what you eat and drink into energy
Your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the number of calories you burn as your body performs basic (basal) life-sustaining function.
Mifflin-St Jeor Equation:
For men:
BMR = 10W + 6.25H - 5A + 5
For women:
BMR = 10W + 6.25H - 5A - 161
Revised Harris-Benedict Equation:
For men:
BMR = 13.397W + 4.799H - 5.677A + 88.362
For women:
BMR = 9.247W + 3.098H - 4.330A + 447.593
Katch-McArdle Formula:
BMR = 370 + 21.6(1 - F)W
But we think that the best way for you to truly measure your BMR is to find somewhere near you that will test if for you with a tube and a computer measuring your BMR or your RMR
There are places and services such as Body Spec
Here is a video to explain it and show you what it looks like in more of a clinical setting
