What does submission and good behavior prevent? In this sermon, Pastor Christopher talks about our freedom in God and how we should use that freedom. He also breaks down submission in front of the lost, the context of submission under government, and the context of work submission. Standing Out by Fitting In (1 Peter 2:1-10)

How can we participate in God's plan, and how do we grow as Believers? In this passage, Peter compares believers to children in a family, stones in a building, and priests in a nation. Through his metaphors pulled from older Scripture, Peter expresses the pure milk we need in order to grow, and the Cornerstone in our faith. In this sermon, Pastor Christopher talks about God-honoring work and how we are "living sacrifices" for the Lord. He also breaks down Peter's metaphors and how following God's commandments makes us distinct in a fallen world. Where does our honor come from? How do we find our place in God's plans? Where does he place those who reject or accept the Cornerstone?

Direction in the Midst of Disaster (Habakkuk 3:16-19)

Sometimes things don't always turn out how we thought they would. We can experience situations we didn't expect, and this can cause uncertainty. In this passage, Habakkuk is trusting, waiting, and surrendering to God's plan. In the beginning of the book, he had been asking questions that are in contrast to the end, and now his faith has matured since the start of his conversation with God. In this sermon, Pastor Chrisopher talks about the contrast between the beginning questions and the end praise Habakkuk presents to God. He talks about the penalty of sin, and the source, symbol, and singing of strength Habakkuk demonstrates. Finally, he tells us how we can rejoice in God even when times seem to worsen in our lives.

The Prayer of a Prophet (Habakkuk 3:1-2)

The Prayer of a Prophet (Habakkuk 3:1-2)

Sometimes we don't always get the answers we want in life, especially in difficult times. How can we have peace in those times? Habakkuk chapter three talks about the inner change between God and Habakkuk, and how he responds to God's answers. In this sermon, Pastor Christopher talks about the peace Habakkuk has towards God's answers, and how we can have that peace. He talks about the obscurity of Habakkuk and how God uses even the most insignificant people. Finally, he breaks down the confidence Habakkuk has in God, and how we can have that level of confidence.
