So what's the lesson for us today? Harkening back to the beginning of this letter, there is a marvelous mystery: God's grace which draws us all together as one. The gospel message flows from the love of the Holy Spirit and the grace of God that we experience through Him. This means that our responsibility as members of the ekklesia is living humbly and in unity under the power of the indwelling Spirit. In other words, the Holy Spirit fills us and enables us to live a life of love, creating a church where everyone is willing to serve rather than be served.

A Prayer of Power | Pastor Calvary Callender
A Prayer of Power | Pastor Calvary Callender
Isn't it interesting that everything comes back to love! Paul's prayer for us is that we might be strengthened and filled with the Spirit of God and understand that God has given us all of Himself. We learn that the indwelling presence of Jesus in our hearts is rooted in love and it is this love that allows us to be filled with the fullness of God.

Manifold Richness | Pastor Calvary Callender
Manifold Richness | Pastor Calvary Callender
We often talk about a "relationship with God." This might be too simple a phrase. God doesn't just want a relationship with us, He wants to exist with us. He wants to be one with us. He wants us to experience victory and He wants the spiritual authorities and powers to know who we are and what this mystery is. We, the church, gets to announce it! However, this is only possible through Holy Spirit. Will we choose Him today?

It's a Mystery | Pastor Calvary Callender
It's a Mystery | Pastor Calvary Callender
The gospel is a great mystery, but not a great secret. Paul explains that God has made the mystery of the gospel known through the Holy Spirit. When someone has an encounter with the Spirit, their lives are forever changed and the mystery is revealed. As the mysteries of His Word are revealed through the Spirit we also become students of the Word, drawing ever closer to Him.

No more walls | Pastor Calvary Callender
Isn't it amazing that we have all been made one in Jesus?! Isn't it amazing that the wall that used to divide us has been torn down?! This is what it looks like when we live as a community of Spirit sourced followers of Christ. We cannot remain unchanged and prejudiced. We have been called to something deeper, something that looks like the Kingdom of God!

I'am ALIVE | Pastor Calvary Callender
Here's where we are today. God is calling! Can you hear Him? Come as you are. Join Him in this great adventure of life and invite others to join you. We are a generation who is being raised up for this time! What are we doing? We love like Jesus so lives are changed. We love people who have lives as messed up as ours. We are all invited because no one is better than the other. No one's righteousness matters, because we are all made one under God's grace. Once we were dead, but we have been made alive through Jesus Christ.

The Spirit | Pastor Calvary Callender
The Spirit | Pastor Calvary Callender
We have been chosen by Christ! Predestined to follow Him. When we choose to step in to that destiny, His manifest presence is deposited into our lives. It is His presence that brings life change that becomes apparent to others. His presence doesn't only bring life change, it changes the way we live. We begin to see things like Jesus does and we have power to conquer the trials in our lives. The freedom we have available in the Spirit is unmatched. Won't we step in to that life-changing freedom today?!

Predestined for Grace | Pastor Calvary Callender
Predestined for Grace | Pastor Calvary Callender
It is important we understand that our God is a God who chose us. People have been struggling with the idea of Grace and a God who is angry and vengeful for a long time. Don't get me wrong, God is holy and we must honor Him, but he also desire to bring unity to ALL THINGS…which is us! Let's embrace the grace of God as we lean in to our identity as a church committed to an inward journey of spiritual practices and an outward journey of  missional engagement.

Spiritual Formation - Covenant Renewal and Communion | Pastor Calvary Callender
Spiritual Formation - Covenant Renewal and Communion | Pastor Calvary Callender
When we take communion, we are renewing our covenant with God and are direct recipients of God’s grace. It is during the act of communion that we are opening a channel by which God is pouring his grace on us. It is through this grace that we realize that we have been forgiven of our sins and are enabled to leave them. The Bread and Cup are signs of the New Covenant-they point to the reality of the sacrifice of our Savior. Jesus is not talking about the cup itself, but what the cup contains. You’ve heard about quests to find the "holy grail", the actual chalice Christ used in the Upper Room. It would certainly have archeological significance, but the cup doesn’t have any special powers. And there is no magic in taking Communion. The cup we share doesn’t save; faith in what the Cup represents does save us. After we receive Christ as our Lord, we then confirm our commitment over this holy meal. Every time we observe the Lord’s Supper we renew our commitment as God’s redeemed people. When God looks at us, He no longer sees our sins; they’ve been covered by the blood of Christ. Our pardon is sealed, and we’re guaranteed eternal life. We are children of the new and everlasting covenant!

Spiritual Formation - Corporate Disciplines - Worship and Christian Conference | Pastor Calvary Callender
Spiritual Formation - Corporate Disciplines - Worship and Christian Conference | Pastor Calvary Callender
We cannot overstate the importance of community life for Christians. We have been conditioned to think that individualism is the right way to go, but that is not at all what we learn from Jesus or the scriptures. John Wesley started something he called societies, bands, and classes to help accomplish community. These small groups prayed together, ate together, and held each other accountable. At our church, not only do we have church on Sunday mornings, we too have small groups. You might have heard of our Sunday School and home group Ministries. We have small group and discipleship classes throughout the week for every age and most interest groups. I hope that we can learn to live in community, to hold each other accountable, pray together, eat together, love one another...to become a New Testament church. One that is on fire for God and wants to spread that fire, all the while living under God’s Grace.

Spiritual Formation - External Disciplines - Acts of Service | Pastor Calvary Callender
Spiritual Formation - External Disciplines - Acts of Service | Pastor Calvary Callender
We must be Christians in both word and deed, this is how we will express the love...the grace of God. Acts of service are those practices that draw us closer to one another through the presence of the Spirit. Jesus told His disciples that His followers would be recognized for how they loved and served one another. Scholars have noted about John Wesley and the Methodists that, “It was not so much that the Methodists were among the poor as the poor were among the Methodists.” In other words, a shared life together which crosses economic, social, or ethnic boundaries and calls people to inward and outward expressions of holy love is the calling of the Christian life.

Spiritual Formation - Internal Disciplines - Prayer | Pastor Calvary Callender
Spiritual Formation - Internal Disciplines - Prayer | Pastor Calvary Callender
There are things we can do to increase our spiritual formation and attend to the grace of God in our lives. One thing we have to be careful about is that these disciplines do not become their own religion. We cannot expect anything if we are not doing them for the right reasons...to grow closer to God and attend to God’s grace in our lives. If used properly, these means become a channel by which God’s grace overflows in us. The chief means of spiritual formation is prayer. This is true simply because we only need to ask God to receive His grace. It is the most direct form of contact with God. We must attend to the grace of God in our lives regularly, through prayer. May God be with us as we earnestly seek him in prayer.

Spiritual Formation - Holistic Formation | Pastor Calvary Callender
At the end of the day we have to ask ourselves the question, "How is my spiritual life?" In all we are doing, isn't that what's important? Of course we want to see people be saved, and we want to witness miracles and baptisms. But how are we with God? Do we have an intimate relationship with Him like the Psalmist? Oh God, we need you to know us, and we want to know you.

Spiritual Formation - For the Sake of Others | Pastor Calvary Callender
If we are to be transformed into the image of Christ, it is for the sake of others. John tells us if you love God, you will love others. Because of this, we learn that our transformation into Christ's image is for the sake of others. As we learn to love like Jesus loves, people see him through us.

If we are to be transformed into the image of Christ, we must all him to do the work in every area of our lives. Mulholland wrote, "When we respond to the confrontation of the Spirit at the point of our brokenness with a consecration that allows God to do the work God wants to do, we begin to experience the reality of being conformed to the image of Christ."

Spiritual Formation - Under Control | Pastor Calvary Callender
Spiritual Formation - Under Control | Pastor Calvary Callender
At the end of the sermon on the mount Jesus deals with the idea of being and doing in a frightening statement. He says, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my father who is in heaven" (Mt 7:21). People will reply and say, "Lord, didn't we do things in your name? Cast out demons and prophesy?" These are surely works of God, right? Jesus didn't argue with them and say, "No, you didn't." Instead he simply says, "Depart from me, I never knew you." Jesus is pointing out the difference between being and doing. Spiritual formation is not something we do to ourselves, but something we allow God to do in us as we yield to the transforming grace of God.

We stand on the precipice. Will we step in? The Israelites were once at the same edge. It was at this edge they found themselves at a crisis of belief. With overwhelming evidence of God’s power behind them, they suddenly stopped believing God and stopped moving forward. We will not make the same mistake.

Spiritual Formation - It's a Process | Pastor Calvary Callender
"The Christian journey, therefore, is an intentional and continual commitment to a lifelong process of growth toward wholeness in Christ. It is a process of "growing up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ" (Eph 4:15), until we "attain to mature personhood to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ" (Eph 4:13). It is for this purpose that God is present and active in every moment of our lives" (Robert Mulholland).   How are you running the race?

Bob Heneghan said, "At the end of the age you have to be in line with Christ or Satan. We are being shaped by either one critter or the other critter. Who I am is who I'm going to end up with. Union with God, abiding in Christ, shapes us. The fire that purges us is basically destroying our self-centeredness where it's actually creating and activating our real self in to the person God wants us to be."  Spiritual formation is the process of lining ourselves up with Christ. Being restored to the Imago Dei.

Jesus’ question echoes down through the ages to us today "Do you want to get well?" Today the Holy Spirit waits for your response. Will you continue to hold on to the things that hold you back? Will you offer the same old excuses? Or will you listen to the instruction of Jesus and reach for that which is beyond yourself. Will you "Get up and walk"? Upside Down - The Gospel is Mission
It's easy to talk about a new creation and it's easy to talk about God's cosmic redemption, but we need to ask, "What's our part?" God is calling us to participate in His mission with Him, but how? It cannot be better said than how John Franke said it, "We are called not just to believe the gospel, not just to believe in Jesus, but to become the gospel by being disciples of Jesus." Will you be part of bringing the good news of His Kingdom to all of creation?

Upside Down - The Mission of God
God presented a mission that was fulfilled in Jesus and presented to the church to continue on. Mission is more than "missions." It is the redemptive story woven throughout the Bible whose ultimate purpose is to restore all of creation. Do we so believe the story that we can't wait, but to tell people about the redemption of God that is possible through Jesus Christ?!

Not a Fan. - Is Jesus Enough?
Not a Fan. - Is Jesus Enough?
I know that none of us want to be declared fans on judgement day, and I know we aren’t offered the guarantee that we’d really like, but Jesus does offer a different kind of guarantee. Jesus guarantees that if you put your trust in Him, He will never fail you. He guarantees that if you stake your life on His message of truth, He will stake His life on your eternity in Heaven. Jesus guarantees that if you put your trust and hope in Him, He’ll guide you to an eternity with God the Father. We don’t know the day, but we know His name, and as scripture tells us, by his name alone are men saved. But you have to decide. Are you a fan or are you a follower of Jesus? All of those guarantees are for the followers who refuse to leave His side...the followers who ask, “To whom shall we go. You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One sent from God.”

Not a Fan. - A Follower's Grace
Not a Fan. - A Follower's Grace
We’ve talked about grace often, in fact it's one of my favorite subjects. I think it’s important we understand how a fan and a follower would react when presented with an opportunity to either show grace or deny it. A fan creates rules and standards while a follower understands grace and knows that they have received grace and should exemplify grace to others. Today will dig in to what that looks like in our lives.

Not a Fan. - The Comfortable Cross
Not a Fan. - The Comfortable Cross
Will we, like Christ did before us, trust God enough to let your weakness be His strength? It’s when we let go of our need for comfort, our need to be in control, our need to glory in our strengths, or accomplishments, or our paycheck, or our trophies, or our coworker's approval —or whatever it is that keeps us from abandoning a comfortable version of the cross—it’s then that God does in our lives what he
did in Christ’s death.

Not a Fan. - Yada, Yada
Not a Fan. - Yada, Yada
An intimate relationship is knowing and being known completely. This is intimacy. Until you’ve witnessed or been in that kind of relationship, it’s hard to really know what intimacy is. No matter how someone defines or explains intimacy, you just won’t really know what intimacy is...you would just know about intimacy. Jesus wants to know you. Will you embrace the close and intimate relationship He wants to have with you? Because with that intimate relationship comes forgiveness and yada’, something only followers truly experience.

Not A Fan. An Open Invitation
It sure seems like when people say, Anyone is welcome, or anyone can cash in on this deal, they don’t really mean anyone. When Jesus says anyone, he means everyone, with no qualifications. Advent 3 - Not the Getting, but the Giving!
Today we look at the story of John the Baptist talking with a crowd, pointing them to Jesus. The advent of God is made known not through the getting, but in the giving.

Advent 2 - He's Coming!
When I think of John the Baptist, I am reminded of the Emergency Broadcast System. John was assigned by God the task of alerting the people of Israel that the Messiah was on his way. Some listened and some did not. This Advent season we need to reflect on the entire Christ event. Christ came into the world to save us from the power of sin. The Messiah is coming. Repent and be baptized. Then you will surely see God’s salvation.

Kingdom Business - Your Part of the Story
The Kingdom of God is where everything that happens meets with God's approval and delight. The awesome thing for us is that His kingdom is available to us here...now. So what is our part of the story? What can we do as a church, as individuals in the church, to perpetuate Jesus' gospel? God has given us the vision to love like Jesus so lives are changed. We will accomplish that by loving God with every fiber of our being, loving each other like Jesus loved us, and loving our community so they can see this love. Let’s make this vision a part of our lifestyle. Living a life of love is simply a healthier way to live. Not only do we feel better, people will begin to notice the difference in your life. When someone asks what is different about you, tell them that God gives you the ability to love like you have never experienced before.

Kingdom Business - What is the Gospel?
What is the Gospel? The word gospel means good news, so for many followers of Christ the idea that we get to spend eternity in heaven with Jesus is good news. It is also good news that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. What was the gospel for Jesus, though? Over and over Jesus would offer the "good news" of the Kingdom of God. Sermon On The Mount - Sand Castles
Welcome to the Summer of the Sermon! Each Sunday through the summer we are going to go through and dig in to the Sermon on the Mount and discover what exactly Jesus wants from us. Today we wrap up this summer long series of the Sermon on the Mount. I think it can be summed up nicely by saying that if we aren’t producing fruit, we aren’t following Jesus and his plan for us. Church is a place that we come to help each other grow in Christ and learn how to be a Christ follower. A place where we hold each other accountable. And a place where we invite people to come and experience the same life change that we have.

Sermon On The Mount - Which Way do I Go?
Welcome to the Summer of the Sermon! Each Sunday through the summer we are going to go through and dig in to the Sermon on the Mount and discover what exactly Jesus wants from us. We must be careful not to let this idea that we will somehow drift into the kingdom of God invade our thinking. The decision to follow Christ must be followed by a decision everyday...every moment of every day...to continue to pursue him and righteousness. It’s not that the right way is so narrow because it’s that much harder than every other way, or that there is virtue found in the narrow way itself, it’s simply that there is only one way.

Welcome to the Summer of the Sermon! Each Sunday through the summer we are going to go through and dig in to the Sermon on the Mount and discover what exactly Jesus wants from us. Earlier in the sermon Jesus taught us how to pray, today we will go through part of the sermon that Jesus speaks of God’s response to our prayer. No prayer is ever wasted! We must be vigilant in continually petitioning our God for the things we want and need. We must also, however, be vigilant in pursuing righteousness because we know it is the prayer of a righteous person that will move our God.

Sermon On The Mount - Judging Extremes
Welcome to the Summer of the Sermon! Each Sunday through the summer we are going to go through and dig in to the Sermon on the Mount and discover what exactly Jesus wants from us. Today we look at Jesus' warning for us to avoid the extremes of judgment. We need to be careful not to become harshly judgmental, looking for faults, taking the opportunity to look down on others from our position of self-righteousness, but neither are we to overlook sin. We need to be able to recognize sin for what it is. Any attempt to overlook or justify sin on any grounds is itself sinful.

Welcome to the Summer of the Sermon! Each Sunday through the summer we are going to go through and dig in to the Sermon on the Mount and discover what exactly Jesus wants from us. We can break it down like this...unless we serve him whole-heartedly, we cannot claim to serve him at all. If we are seeking first the righteousness of the Kingdom, we will be in obedience to all of Jesus’ commands. Jesus and his Kingdom will be our number one priority.

Welcome to the Summer of the Sermon! Each Sunday through the summer we are going to go through and dig in to the Sermon on the Mount and discover what exactly Jesus wants from us. How should we pray? Is there an instruction book? Prayer is one of the ways we touch Jesus – let Jesus touch us – and let Jesus change our lives. Prayer is one of the spiritual disciplines we need to incorporate into our lives if we are going to grow in our faith – grow in our relationship with God – and put ourselves in a position where God can change us. Today we look at the importance of prayer and how it should be done.

Sermon On The Mount - Oaths and Enemies
Sermon On The Mount - Oaths and Enemies
Welcome to the Summer of the Sermon! Each Sunday through the summer we are going to go through and dig in to the Sermon on the Mount and discover what exactly Jesus wants from us. Jesus is calling us to a higher standard. He is challenging us to grow in obedience to him. The last few paragraphs of Jesus’ sermon are on the theme of a greater righteousness. A righteousness that cannot be achieved by following the law. The godliness that Jesus is talking about cannot be comprehensively formulated in a set of rules. The ethics of this Sermon are not exhaustive, they are suggestive. In other words, as we pursue Jesus, and fall in love with him, and become more like him, we begin to reflect his character and likeness.

Sermon On The Mount - Raising The Bar
Sermon On The Mount - Raising The Bar
Welcome to the Summer of the Sermon! Each Sunday through the summer we are going to go through and dig in to the Sermon on the Mount and discover what exactly Jesus wants from us. Anger can destroy us. We cannot let anger wriggle its way into our lives or else we will be eat up with it. And, with that anger in our lives, we cannot be reconciled to God. Many of us have always felt that if we don’t murder someone, we are OK. If we don’t “say” anything bad about someone that is OK. Jesus came in and said, “It’s not about what you say or what you do as much as it is about what’s in your heart.” He takes the law and he tells us we have to raise the bar. So, it’s not about murder or hate as much as it is about loving God and pursuing Jesus. It is in this state of mind that we will find peace with God.

Sermon On The Mount - What To Do With The Law
Sermon On The Mount - What To Do With The Law
Welcome to the Summer of the Sermon! Each Sunday through the summer we are going to go through and dig in to the Sermon on the Mount and discover what exactly Jesus wants from us. It is important we understand pursuing a relationship with Christ is the most important thing. That’s what we are doing. It is in that pursuit that we learn to love to follow the law. It’s not about how much we know or how strictly we can follow it, it is about following Jesus and how we can exceed what the law says. Jesus didn’t come and say, “OK, the law doesn’t count anymore.” In fact, he said quite the opposite. The law still counts. Doing what the law says is important. However, we can’t do what the law says, just because it says. It is when we do more than the law says that we gain status in the Kingdom of God.

Sermon On The Mount - Tasty Brightness
Sermon On The Mount - Tasty Brightness
Welcome to the Summer of the Sermon! Each Sunday through the summer we are going to go through and dig in to the Sermon on the Mount and discover what exactly Jesus wants from us. Taking the Sermon on the Mount in order, first he taught us though the Beatitudes to make sure our relationship with God is right. The second thing he taught us is that we need to be salt and light. In other words, as our relationship with God gets stronger and we grow closer to him, our lives will naturally become a tasty brightness to everyone in this world!

Sermon On The Mount - The Beatitudes
Sermon On The Mount - The Beatitudes
Welcome to the Summer of the Sermon! Each Sunday through the summer we are going to go through and dig in to the Sermon on the Mount and discover what exactly Jesus wants from us. God’s desire for us is to be transformed. To be different from the rest of the world. It reminds me of the little girl who asked her mother, “If God is bigger than us and he lives in us, wouldn’t he show through?” In the beginning, God created us in His image. It is his desire that we are like him. We know that sin has distorted that image, but we are in the pursuit of restoring that image through holiness.

Unoffendable - I Can Worship a God Like That
Unoffendable - I Can Worship a God Like That
What does it mean to take offense? If you look up the definition of the word, offended, you will see most dictionaries say something about anger and resentment. As we get in to this, you may be thinking, like me, aren’t we allowed to be angry? What about righteous anger? Aren’t Christians supposed to be angry at people for certain things? We will talk about all these things and more through this series. As we wrap up this series, "Unoffendable," you may be asking, so what? What should we do about the anger and constant feeling of offense? The point of it all is so that people will know who Jesus is. If we will choose to be unoffendable, people will see the love that Jesus has for them through us. Here’s the deal with me today. I’m tired of all the hate. I’m tired of the racial divide. I’m tired of people killing each other. And honestly, if the 83% of people in the United States who claim to be Christian would actually love the way Jesus has prescribed and choose to be unoffendable, we could change the world!

Choosing to be unoffendible does not mean accepting injustice, it means “Actively seeking justice and loving mercy, while walking humbly with God.” Let’s take some time today and ask God to help us love justice, but wait on him. To learn to trust that God is going to take care of everything, including the injustices we see and maybe to help us not to lose our cool and pretend our anger is righteous.

I can just be present. I don’t have to carry the weight of judgment or condemnation. Jesus wants to “release us from the constant evaluation, never-ending striving, and relentless assessment of where we, and everyone else, stand” (Hansen 91).

Better Together - Community
Better Together - Community
One thing we’ve realized, and probably everyone knows, it takes a village. What I mean is that the body operates in service together. God has given each of us gifts, Jesus has assigned various roles to us, and we all play our part in the body. In fact, one of our covenants of membership is to actively be involved in service. We believe it is important to become actively involved in a ministry of this church body. This is one of the ways we are able to love like Jesus so that lives are changed. It is the people of the ekklesia (church body) who make ministry happen. I think we all know it’s important to volunteer service at the church. Today we are addressing what happens when you serve.

Cancelled - They Couldn't Cancel Jesus
Cancelled - They Couldn't Cancel Jesus
This idea of canceling each other has been going on for a long time. People want to cancel God, students want to cancel teachers. If we don’t like something that ketchup stands for, cancelled. Did that person offend you? Cancelled. Going even further back, they didn’t like that Jesus had raised Lazarus from the grave (John 11:38-44) so they wanted to kill him (John 12:10). The ultimate came when they tried, and failed, to cancel Jesus! Since we just came through Easter, it might be good to talk about what happened after Easter. Even the disciples believed that Jesus was dead, that he was cancelled. Perhaps the greatest illustration of this was Thomas.

Easter 2021 - What's in a Cross?
Easter 2021 - What's in a Cross?
If we are to sum up the message of Easter, it is so much more than the fact that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. He did, indeed die for our sins, but that is not all. His death and resurrection started something new. It was the death of the old. When we say yes to Jesus, we enter in to a new way of life. One in which he is the source, the strength, the example, and the assurance.

The season of Lent is a time to evaluate our relationship with God as we prepare for Easter, Jesus' resurrection. It is a time to repent and turn back to Him. Today we are going to look at Palm Sunday and how the Kingdom of God is really an upside down world from the earthly cultural reality. In our world, the weak are trampled, the humble are made fun of, it’s opposite of a Kingdom reality.

The season of Lent is a time to evaluate our relationship with God as we prepare for Easter, Jesus' resurrection. It is a time to repent and turn back to Him. Today we are going to ask the question, "Who is pulling your strings?" In our scripture today, Paul talks about the two different mind sets we might have. One is a mind controlled by our flesh...our desires. The other is a mind controlled by Holy Spirit. That leaves us with the question, is our mind focused on what we want? Or what He wants?

There may be a lot of things that we don’t understand, but remember God accomplished that which was impossible when He went to the cross and died for our sins. He did for us what we could not do for ourselves.

Mary's Magnificat (Advent 4)
Mary's Magnificat (Advent 4)
Just before the birth of Jesus there was a sense of expectation and hope. People were waiting and wondering. They felt like something wonderful was about to happen. The Scriptures had promised the coming of the Messiah, and rumors were rampant that he was coming at any time. He was going to turn the world around and deliver Israel from all her enemies. He would usher in the kingdom of God. But if those same people, who were so high with expectation, had gone to a backyard stable in the town of Bethlehem one starry night, they might have said, “That’s it? All that hype for this?” But actually, in this case, the reality was greater than the expectation. No one could have guessed how this child would change the world. No one could have imagined the impact he would have on world history and the change he would make in people’s lives. Not even Mary fully understood the difference the child she was carrying would make.

What I love about Advent is that it is a time of expectation, anticipation, and preparation for celebrating... -The fact that Jesus came to this world 2,000 years ago... -That Jesus has come into the hearts of those who believe, causing us to be new creations... -That Jesus will come back again and usher in God’s kingdom in all it’s fullness! Our society loves freedom. Exalts it to the be all and end all. Free country. Freedom of religion, freedom to vote, freedom to work anywhere that will take you, freedom to choose to eat or not eat genetically modified food, freedom to choose what kind of car you drive, freedom to choose the store you buy your clothes in, in fact in our society the ultimate punishment is the depravation of freedom through imprisonment. When we talk to others about the gospel of Jesus, we need to do it in a way they will understand. Why not talk about the freedom that is found in Christ!?
