So, grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy sharing some time with me this morning
Good Morning Everyone! Following up on yesterday's podcast about change, I wanted to share with you four important questions regarding implementing successful change, and these questions center on 4 words: Need, Want, Willing, and Committed.
Good Morning and Good Coffee! What does it take to change? Whether it is you or someone else, there are some things that work and don't work when it comes to facilitating change. Today I look at a quote attributed to Lori Deschene that goes like this: "No one changes unless they want to. Not if you beg them. Not if you shame them. Not if you use reason, emotion, or tough love. There's only one thing that makes someone change: their own realization that they need to do it." Here is a link to Lori on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Lori-Deschene/e/B005NEHYZC
Good Morning and Good Coffee Everyone! This past Friday I had an opportunity to sit down and interview Dale Horaz, LCSW who directs the suicide prevention team with the Marion VA Medical Center. Dale has worked in suicide prevention for 11 years and has a wealth of knowledge on this challenging subject, which is why I wanted to get Dale on the podcast.
Good Morning and Good Coffee! How many of your watched the 1960s family sitcom, The Munsters? I sure did and loved it. If you don't know about it, take the time to look it up and find some episodes to watch. Well, there was a meme I recently saw that quoted Herman talking to his son about what really matters in life. That is today's topic: the Wisdom of Herman Munster! You can find the meme by visiting my facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Morning-Coffee-with-Larry-Quicksall-2270276413090929/
Good Morning Everyone! Today's topic centers on your unintended impact on those around you. My friends Michelle and Tammy posted a couple of memes that I found quite inspiring today, so today I share them and my thoughts about them with you. Make today a great day for you and others!
Good Morning Everyone! Are you feeling overwhelmed? We can feel overwhelmed from too much change, loss, fear, responsibilities or expectations. When we feel overwhelmed over a long period of time we can experience despair. And when we endure despair too long we will begin having major negative changes in who we see ourselves, others, and the world in the past, present and future. This is not a good place to be. If you find yourself in this situation I would recommend seeking out a therapist who can help you change the way you think to correct these changed beliefs. However, if you are not there yet, then I would recommend you pursue restoring balance in your life by trying to limit the amount of change in your life resulting in a better sense of stability and predictability, accepting losses over which you have little to no control, learn how to stop treat unreal fears or fears from the past as if you are in danger now, have reasonable responsibilities and delegate when it makes sense to do so, have realistic expectations for yourself and others, and finally develop a pattern of using logical reasoning instead of emotional reasoning.
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Today's show is based upon a meme from a friend of mine from years ago, Lynne. It is titled "My Tuesday 'To Do' List" and includes the following items: count my blessings, let go of what I can't control, practice kindness, listen to my heart, be thankful for what I have, and just breathe." Great List, and today I share my thoughts on each item of this list.
Good morning! Have you ever looked at old photos and had different emotional reactions when you compare them to the way things are today. How we interpret change in our lives is important not just for how we remember the past but for how we live our lives into the future.
Good Morning and Good Coffee! I hope you enjoyed your Independence Day celebrations yesterday. Today I talk about why we remember things including the signing of the Declaration of Independence as well as why we should remember Eva Kor and what she thought it was important to remember. Eva died yesterday and here is a link to the article I read on today's podcast. https://www.mywabashvalley.com/news/local-holocaust-survivor-eva-kor-passes-away/
Good Morning Everyone!!! Today we look at four ties that bind long-term relationships as found in the below article from 2012 in Psychology Today magazine. Here is the article link: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/fulfillment-any-age/201206/the-12-ties-bind-long-term-relationships Today I discuss my thoughts on the first four from this article. Enjoy!!!
Good morning! Good coffee! And it’s very good to be home! Hi everybody, I’m glad you could join me today. Yesterday evening my son and I made it home from our trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota, and while drinking coffee this morning I’m thinking back on the trip asking the question about what I would like to bring home from the trip, so that I can incorporate it into my daily life and make my daily life better.
Good morning and good coffee! On today’s podcast I want to share with you my thoughts having attended a caving conference in celebration for Jewell Cape National Monument reaching their 200 mile mark. It was an amazing trip and experience, and I’m so glad I was able to be there with my son, Aaron.
Good Morning Everyone! Grab your coffee and let's talk about relationships, specifically bad habits to avoid in relationships. Follow this link to my Facebook page to see the infographic I used as inspiration for the podcast - https://www.facebook.com/Morning-Coffee-with-Larry-Quicksall-2270276413090929/
Today's show was inspired by a meme that reminded me of a Sunday School class from the early 1990s that used the book titled The Blessing by Gary Smalley and John Trent. Today I talk about this concept and how you can pass it on to your children.

Good Morning and Good Coffee! Today I tried something different. I recorded the podcast and did a Facebook Live at the same time! I was afraid at first two try and juggle both, but I think it worked well. My topic today was a meme from my Facebook feed about what spills from your coffee cup when you get bumped. You can see the meme and watch the Facebook Live broadcast on Facebook by searching for Morning Coffee with Larry Quicksall. I'll post a working link to the page when Facebook decides to play nice with me!
Good Morning! Passion projects are amazing things that express creativity, generate energy, and typically help others. Today I share some of my passion projects and announce a recent one that is designed to help those effected by terminal illness and end of life decisions. Want to check out this new passion project? Visit http://www.helpwithterminalillness.com
Good Morning! Have you ever wondered why you can experience an emotion while doing an action AND also when other people are doing the action and you are not? We often call that empathy, but it can also be the result of Mirror Neurons in the brain. Today I share some basic information on this interesting theory that may be playing a big role in our day to day lives.
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Today I explore the topic of gentleness and share with you a great article written by Andy Mort titled "Gentleness is Strength: the 7 Habits of Highly Gentle People". https://www.andymort.com/gentleness-is-strength/ He has a lot of good information on his site, so I would recommend checking it out!
Good Morning! Good Coffee! Happy Flag Day! Happy Father's Day! Many things to celebrate and appreciate today. Today also I share my thoughts on a meme I saw this morning on the five types of people you want to be around: inspired, passionate, motivated, grateful and open-minded.
Good Morning and Good Coffee! I hope you are having a great day today! Today I address the question "Are You Willing?" You may be wondering "willing to do what?" Well, we all have goals and dreams and desires, but are you willing to make that come true. Sometimes the goal may be a great achievement, others it may be to start a dream business, and others it may be to get out of the deep hole they have found themselves in. My hope is that today's podcast can give you encouragement, understanding and direction to find yourself moving in a needed direction for your life.
Good Morning and Good Coffee Everyone! Life lessons are all around us, but too many times they are missed. Today I explain why I like life lessons so much and share three lessons learned yesterday when the members of the Crossroads Beekeepers visited the farm for a fun time of visiting with each other, inspecting my beehives, and enjoying a potluck dinner.
Good Morning! Are you a consumer of what other people provide? Do you consumer toooo much on social media or other online platforms? Do you have a story to tell or skill to teach? Well, get rid of the passive depression and switch from being a consumer to being a producer! How? Today's podcast will tell you!
Good Morning Friends! There is one thing that never changes and that is the fact that things change and change happens. Do you accept change or do you fight it or dread it? Listen to today's show and find out my take on the topic of change.
Good Morning Everyone! Sometimes life lessons come from the oddest places, and today is one of those days. What can we learn and apply from The Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail? For those of you not familiar with this movie, following are a few links for you to check out.
Full Movie with Commercials: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDT2YOg8WSQ

Good Morning and Good Coffee!!! Do I have a story for you from yesterday. I'm not going to give away much about the story other than the title of this podcast episode. By the way, does anyone have a recipe for Humble Pie???
Good Morning Everyone! In today's podcast I explore the phrase and concept of Positive Mental Attitude. In doing some research I learned that the concept of positive mental attitude has been attributed to Napoleon Hill in his classic book "Think and Grow Rich." I also describe the phase Positive Mental Attitude as "To Anticipate Good Things" and as a "Confident Rational Point of View". It then gave my thoughts from a blog post by Declan OFlaherty on the website Tiny Buddha titled "8 Tips to Help Create a Positive Mental Attitude". Finally, at the beginning of my podcast today I mentioned my fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Follow the links to find internet sources and additional information.
Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are having a great day today! This morning I saw a shared statement on my friend Tracy's Facebook page that had received several comments to the original poster. The statement said, "Girls who have a thing for bad boys end up being single mom's asking where are all the good men at?" There is some truth to this statement, and in this episode I share my thoughts on patterns and problematic choices some people make when it comes to relationships.
Good Morning! Today I want to talk about a great way to add positive balance to your life: hobbies. Using hobbies can be positive, allow for creative flow, be a time filler, derail negativity, give social opportunities, create adventures, and be at any price range.
Good Morning! Do you ever have one of those days where everything seems to be going wrong, and you wind up with a really lousy attitude for the rest of the day? Well of course you do, everyone does. And that includes me! Today I want to talk about making sure we have balanced perceptions of our experiences to help us have better days. And I have to practice this too, especially today!
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Today I'm addressing that old issue of setting priorities including goals, objective, tasks, purpose of goals, important vs urgent, value of allotting time for a task, creating a rank order of tasks, and doing things on paper - on purpose - on time.
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Today I draw a comparison between feeding and caring for my ducklings and doing the same for yourself. The three actions covered are feeding, cleaning, and exercising your body, mind, and spirit. Good nuggets in this podcast!
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Big Shout Out to Nancy and Lynette this morning! Have a great day, gals! Today's show is inspired by a meme: "Easy to spot a yellow car when you are always thinking of a yellow car. Easy to spot opportunity when you are always thinking of opportunity. Easy to spot reasons to be mad when you are always thinking of being mad. You become what you constantly think about. Watch yourself."
Good Morning and Good Coffee! I hope you had a great weekend and had a Happy Mother's Day! Today I start a series on healthy and balanced living, and I began with three definitions to give us a starting point. (1) Balance is an even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady. (2) Balance is a condition in which different elements are equal or in correct proportions. (3) Be be in balance is to keep or put something in a stead position so that it does not fall.
Good morning and good coffee! Today’s podcast I want to talk about some life lessons involving baby ducks in miniature horses. I’m also going to be going with my wife to watch the St. Louis Cardinals game, so if you’re going and happen to see me be sure and wave!
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Today I wrap up our series on addiction for the time being with a discussion on a key part of recovery: the cultures of addiction in comparison to the cultures of addiction.
Good morning! A lot of times people think that a person who is struggling with addiction has to hit “rock bottom” before they will actually start their path of recovery. I don’t quite agree with that model and today I’ll explain what I think about idea.
Good Morning! If you are trapped in addiction does that make you a bad person? The clear answer on today's podcast is NO! You are not a bad person. You are a good person who happens to be trapped in addiction, and trying to deal with the pain of addiction can lead to bad choices and bad decisions, but it does not mean you are a bad person. Don't stay trapped in your addiction, whatever it is. Reach out to someone for help. The phone number for the Nation Crisis Line is 1-800-273-8255.
Good Morning and Good Coffee Everyone! So, is addition a disease or a choice? This question has been debated and discussed and challenged for many years. There are many reasons to stand on either side, so where do I stand on the subject. Well, listen to today's episode and find out!
Good Morning Everyone! I hope you have your coffee in hand, because we are going to cover the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. If you would like to have a printable copy of the 12 Steps, please follow this link: https://www.aa.org/assets/en_US/smf-121_en.pdf

Good Morning Everyone! This is Larry who is having trouble waking up fully today (yawn). Today I want to continue our series on addiction and share a bit about AA or Alcoholics Anonymous including a very brief history/introduction, the 12 Traditions, and why it is important to attend AA meetings, have a Sponsor, and follow the 12 Steps.
If you have any questions or suggestions for podcast topics, please shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Good Morning Everyone! Grab you coffee and ease into the morning with me today as I talk about addiction including defining addiction, compulsion, tolerance, and three broad categories of addiction: substances, impulse control, and behaviors.
Good morning and good coffee! Hi everyone! Today I’m taking my podcast out to the back deck before 6 o’clock in the morning to enjoy the cool breeze in the wonderful Salems of wildlife as I talk about slowing down from the intrusive world to enjoy what we have available to us from the natural world. I’m also out here because my desktop computer is not cooperating. ;-)
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Hey Everyone, if you want to send me a comment, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Today's podcast includes an update on a grief and bereavement project I have been working on, an anxiety project I am planning to start, and a challenge to you.
Good Morning Everyone! Accountability is our topic today, and we look at internal and external types as well as the benefits of being accountable in having a life that moves us forward in a positive direction.
Good Morning Everyone! Today I want to talk about the tragedy that occurred yesterday in Paris: the burning of the Cathedral of Notre Dame. It was a horrible and sad sight to see on television. I also reminded me of another fire at a Catholic institution that hit a little closer to home. On April 4, 1949, 70 years ago this month, the St. Anthony Hospital fire took the lives of 74 people including 11 newborns and my great-great aunt, Arminda Baker. Life does have tragedy, whether international, local or personal. The question for us today and every time tragedy strikes is what is important enough in life to restore out of the flames of the tragedy? It is not an easy answer, but very i1mportant none the less.
Good Morning and Good Coffee!! I hope you are doing well and getting ready for a great day. It's Friday, and I'm a bit excited and ready for the weekend....mostly doing chores, but I get to be outside and soak up some sunshine! Today, I talk about Believing You Can Be Well. More than just a catchy phrase, believing you can be well is moving away from the word "can't" and not being satisfied with the status quo. It is about looking for and implementing ways to be better off, to be well, in your circumstances. Don't conform to the notion that this is as good as it gets. Today I share some of my experiences in mental health, what I have seen, and why I believe that you can be well. Finally, if you have a podcast suggestion, please send me an email at email@example.com. Have a Great Day!
Good Morning Everyone! Today I attack (yes, attack) the word "can't". While I start out the podcast pretty tired and still somewhat sleeping, I am completely charged up by the end! Why? Because I really, really don't like that word - it keeps people a prisoner of their own lies. Don't let the word "can't" make you a victim. Challenge it and Overcome it!
Good Morning and Good Coffee Everyone!!! Today I am thinking about gardening now that Spring is finally here. However, today I really want to talk about Gardening Your Life so you can enjoy planned abundance! Oh, Hi Nancy!
Good Morning and Good Coffee Everyone! Sorry for the delay between podcasts, but this past week has been filled with early morning priorities with three sets of goats being born on the farmstead. Loyal Listener Nancy pointed out to me that she has been drinking coffee by herself, so my apologies to her and a promise to do better! Today's podcast covers stress and why we experience it or don't experience it. It is also a mobile recording as I was traveling to the Ramsey Community Auction for the first time in over 40 years!
Good Morning! Are you a worrier? Are you tired of worrying about things that rarely happen? Is there an alternative to worrying? In today's podcast I give you an alternative that could help turn your life around.
Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are having a great day today and that the weather is nice where ever you are. While sampling some podcasts on anxiety I came across two people talking about panic attacks and it stirred an old memory of my first experiences of watching panic attacks on Saturday Morning Cartoons. Today I want to share with you the wisdom of understanding and immediately reducing the power of panic attacks as taught on the show Scooby-Doo. No, I am not making light of the subject, but listen and you will hear what I mean.
Good Morning! Today I share a bit about my experience helping put together a video on confronting fears by bringing a person who was not comfortable around bees to my bee yard to suit up and get into an active bee hive. Find out what happened on the podcast!
Good Morning from the Road! Today's podcast is recorded while driving and taking in the surroundings of my drive to town. Driving is a great time to create an opportunity to de-clutter our mental lives and practice mindfulness regarding our surroundings.
Good Morning Everybody!!! Today's topic is for those dating or wanting to date and hopefully find the love of their life. How can you quickly tell if this is someone that you should continue dating or someone you need to end it with? A great tool I recommend people use is a Must-Have and Can't-Stand exercise. I will walk you through how to do this in today's episode.
If you want to have me address a particular topic or have a question you would like for me to answer on the podcast, please mail it to Coffee@LarryQuicksall.com.
Good Morning Everyone! Today's topic is on motivation with observations and tips. Areas covered include:
Small task vs Big task
Routine activity vs Non-routine activity vs Change in routine activity
Are you emotionally driven vs logically driven
If you have a topic to suggest or a question you would like addressed on the podcast, please email me at Coffee@LarryQuicksall.com
Have a great day everyone and thanks for listening!
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Hi Everyone and welcome to today's podcast.
I want to invite each of you to send me an email with topics or questions you would like for me to address on the podcast. I will not be providing therapy on the show, but I want to cover topics that are important to my listeners. Send your emails to Coffee@LarryQuicksall.com.
I'm continuing from last time's discussion about change, but today I'm talking about external change and points to consider to deal with it in a good way. I share thoughts about whether we have influence in the situation or not, whether we will be coping with or adapting to the change, choosing beliefs that will allow us to have positive emotions about the change, and problems with maintaining a victim role.
Good Morning Everyone! In today's show I talk about Creating Successful Change in our lives. First, I share four very important questions that you need to answer yes to for change to have a chance of happening.
1. Do I NEED help and change in this area?
2. Do I WANT help and change in this area?
3. Am I WILLING to do what is needed to have successful change?
4. Am I COMMITTED to seeing it through to completion?
I also identified 3 key areas of change: Beliefs, Actions, and Relationships.
Homework Assignment: Identify a specific area of change in one of the three key areas where you can answer "yes" to all four of the above questions, and write that down on a piece of paper, then start listing ways that you can make positive and permanent changes to improve your life!
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Today's episode is recorded on my way to work, so please excuse the background noises! Yesterday I had a fun time meeting with my daughter's boyfriend which leads into a my conversation on building bridges.
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Today I'm sending out some shout outs to my two Master Mind Ladies, Vena & Mary, who if it wasn't for their encouragement over the past 5+ years I probably would not be doing this podcast....Thanks for the encouragement! Also a shout out to my daughter's boyfriend from Ireland that I'll be meeting up with today. Today's primary topic is the physical and mental benefits of Walking, so after today's show I want you to get out and walk today!
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Hi Everyone and welcome to the podcast. Today I am continuing and nearing the end of our marriage series with the topic of Beliefs. What do you believe about your spouse? What is the difference between a belief and an emotion? How can I tell if my emotion/belief is accurate and true? What can I do about a false and damaging belief? I cover these questions and more today.
Good Morning Everyone! Today's topic is marital expectations. I spoke about a couple of articles and the links are below.
Good Morning Everybody! Today is a topic I love talking about and can stir my passions, and that is Communication. You see, my bachelors degree minor was in Speech Communication, and I never lost my passion for the subject. Effective communication is vital for a healthy marital relationship, and I spent a lot of time in my therapy office teaching and helping couples improve their communication with each other. Today I share about the Communication Model, how it works, and why it breaks down.
Good Morning Everyone! Today I continue on the marriage series with Physical Intimacy. This may not be a show you want to listen to over speakers with kids present! This show ran longer than I thought because there was a lot of good information coming to my mind. While thinking about this podcast and topic I came up with this statement: "Physical Intimacy is a progression of intimacy involving acceptance, closeness and trust that combines the emotional and physical in a pleasing way.
If you find this podcast helpful, please share with your friends on social media!
Good Morning Everyone! Today we continues in our series on marriage by looking at another type of intimacy called Financial Intimacy. This more than just money management, but it builds upon the foundation of goals, hopes, and dreams that a couple can agree upon resulting in a logical focusing of their financial resources. For assistance with financial management and planning I typically refer couples to www.DaveRamsey.com.
Good Morning! Today we start a short run of episodes on types of marital intimacy, and today's focus in on Recreational Intimacy.
Here is the link I mentioned: https://oneextraordinarymarriage.com/6-forms-of-intimacy-to-building-a-strong-marriage/
Good Morning! Today's topic is the fifth of the Five Foundations of a Successful Marital Relationship: Trust. I start by talking a little about systemic mistrust, then I teach about how marital trust can be damaged and how it can be built up through the practice of the other foundations.
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Hi Everyone, today I'm talking about the fourth foundation of a successful marital relationship: forgiveness. How often do you take out the trash at your house? Daily? Whenever it gets full? Would you take my challenge of not emptying the kitchen trashcan for 3 full weeks??? No? Find out what trashcans have to do with today's topic on marriage!
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Today we continue with our series on marriage and the third element of the Five Foundations of a Successful Marital Relationship, which is LOVE. Love is often a problematic word in our language because we say we love "everything", but marital love is comprehensive and definitely more than just a feeling. I mention about viewing it as a math formula: Mental Commitment + Emotional Intimacy + Physical Passion = Comprehensive Marital Love. I also reference Robert J. Sternberg and what he calls the Triangular Theory of Love. More information can be found on this at the following links.
Good Morning Everyone! Today's continuing series on marriage takes a look at the topic of Respect as one of the Five Foundations of a Successful Marital Relationship. In addition, I share some heartfelt memories of a great man who knew how to entertain an audience from the theater stage: Steve Rasmussen. I enjoyed seeing him act and will miss him on the stage of the Riverfront Playhouse. I promised some links to check out about Steve.
Heaven is Hell (a dark comedy) - Starting at Steve's scene
Good Morning and Good Coffee Everyone! Today I jump into the topic of Commitment. Several years ago I put together a presentation/paper titled The Five Foundations of a Successful Marital Relationship, and the first of these foundations is commitment. To this day when counseling couples I will dive into the Five Foundations and have couples rate themselves on these foundations. You can as well, and then you can decide what you can do to improve your score.
Good Morning Everyone! So how do you deal with the fact that people offend you, that they do you wrong, or that some people seriously want to harm you? Do you get angry, get back at them, even the score, or seek revenge? Well, how has that been working for you? Maybe you want to consider something different such as forgiveness.
Good Morning and Good Coffee Everyone! This morning I stumbled across the topic of ASMR in another podcast I was listening to. My daughter Jessica first shared this term with me, and so after hearing it again I did some quick-and-dirty research and found an interesting video that shows people who make videos involving tactile actions and soothing sounds for relaxation and pleasing physical sensations. You can watch the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxjfyBEIl7Q. However, this is actually not new, but is something quite old. It has just been rediscovered in our crazy, hussle-bussle, unhealthy, fast-paced life.
Good Morning Everybody! Today's topic is Boundaries, and I review different boundaries from national to state to local to family and individuals. There were four important when addressing the topics of boundaries: relationship, expectation, respect, and trust. I also mention a book titled Boundaries by Dr. John Townsend and Dr. Henry Cloud. Purchase links are below. Have a great day!

Hey Everybody! Good Morning to each and everyone of you. Today is Saturday and it is supposed to be sunny today, and I'm planning on taking a little time for myself and enjoy a walk outside and quiet time with the goat herd as I rest, relax, and recharge myself from a challenging week. Today, my topic is Wellness Tools from a program that I was trained in back in 2018 called WRAP or Wellness Recovery Action Plan. It is a great, easy to follow program that I have taught to many people over the past decade, and a key component of the program is call Wellness Tools. In today's episode I describe what Wellness Tools are and how to create your own Toolbox of Wellness Tools. For more information on WRAP visit their website at http://mentalhealthrecovery.com/info-center/
Good Morning and Good Early Grey Tea! Thanks for joining me today. In today's episode I talk about the Appalachian Trail and persistence as my friend Matt hikes the AT. We can take Matt's task at hand and apply it in the important, long-term goals we want to accomplish in our own lives.
Good Morning and Good Coffee Everyone! Hope you are having a great day today. I have a two part episode today that starts with a funny list of children's wisdom and finishes with suggestions regarding morning routines.
Good Morning Everyone! While pondering the differences between worry and concern, a very popular song from the 1980's popped into my head. Don't Worry, Be Happy by Bobby McFarrin was a great song with a great message. If you haven't seen this video in a while, or if you have never seen it, then just follow this link ==> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-diB65scQU
Good Morning and Good Coffee and Good Tea.... Actually, Lipton Raspberry Green Tea.... It's great on a wintery morning! Today we are having some bad weather including sleet and freezing rain, so we have hunkered down in the house. However, we have a new puppy who needs to go outside pretty frequently, which led me to pause for a moment and see how he is reacting the another day of totally new and amazing experiences. Wow, to have "puppy eyes" or "childlike amazement" at all that is around me. Well, maybe we still can have that amazement if we are willing to see that it is there every day.
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Hi Everyone. Today I'm recording from the middle of the framework of our new pole barn that is being built. You know, if you want to have a pole barn last for 50-100 years then you need to make sure the foundation and structure is solid, true and well connected. And it is that way in life when it comes to our decisions and behavioral patterns. Are we making decisions based on our emotions or character traits? Do our foundation posts go deep into the ground, or are we simply held to the ground by stakes that can easily be removed. In my podcast I reference the 12 Points of the Boy Scout Law, which is listed below:
A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, Reverent.
I'm also including an article I just found on Google. It is a short and fascinating read about when the Boy Scouts named a scout camp after John Wayne in 1979, just a few months before his death. John Wayne shared his thoughts about the Scout Law during the presentation, and I'm so glad I found it. Here is the link: https://blog.scoutingmagazine.org/2015/08/13/john-waynes-take-scout-law/
Good Morning and Good Coffee! Brrrr!!!! Yes, I'm complaining about the cold again, but I'm sure Spring is around the corner (at least the groundhog said so). In today's episode I talk about writing things down. You see when we write things down they become tangible or real, and we can do things with them so that our life becomes better! Good Morning Everyone! My how the weather changes from -38 degree windchill on Wednesday to Sunday (yesterday) it hit 70 degrees! And with the rising temperatures comes the "big thaw".
