#41 WHO IS OUR FAVORITE CHILD?
Do parents have a favorite child? Is it ok to have a favorite child? In this episode, we talk about some feedback and comments that deal with folks thinking we have a favorite (child). The truth is we love our kids the same, all of them. We have three kids: Ava, Alexis, and Jersey, and have equal love for them all. It's our job to care for our children, provide for them; only judgments of their actions and personality could grant one as a favorite.  We hope you enjoyed this episode! #40 WE HAVE REALLY BIG NEWS!
Guess what?! We've been chosen as promotional talent for the 2020 Olympics! This is a big deal for us and something we're very proud of! We try to make content that is inspiring, entertaining, and positive. It feels great to have a brand like NBC and the Olympics want to work with us. In this episode, Ami and Justin McClure shed light on this opportunity and the details involved. Basically, the family will interview talent and incorporate as promotion into videos.  Also, Jersey turns 2 in November and YOU'RE INVITED to his BIRTHDAY PARTY! #39 IT WAS DAD'S FAULT (school update)
The kids are in school (Montessori). Jersey and the twins, Ava and Alexis, all attend the same school. The girls have adjusted fine in Georgia, they are having a great time, and their teachers say they are leaders in the classroom and model students. Jersey is also doing well - he could be the most polite baby ever! His teacher says that Jersey is super smart, puts things away, listens well, and helps other students. We are so proud of our kids. So what is Dad's fault? You'll have to listen! lol, but it was a golf outing gone crazy. Maybe Justin McClure (dad) should not have let the twins drive the golf cart! ** HEAR JUSTIN'S TED TALK! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXZ8Wp1RR-w&t=12s Email us: lastweekinparenting@gmail.com Hope you enjoyed this episode of Last Week in Parenting. #38 WE'RE NOT PERFECT
We started out wanting to talk about the kids in school - they just started in Atlanta (Montessori), but the conversation derails into a recent video incident where Ami had a "wardrobe incident". Ami and Justin McClure keep the conversation tone about the incident and the etiquette of families and those who present perfection.  The McClure Family "brand" is about realness and being authentic, and we hope this humanizes ourselves to you. We make mistakes because we are a small team. Mistakes happen, we love the criticism and open opinions, but there is a line to be drawn with disrespect and blatant rudeness.  HOW WE BALANCE FAMILY AND BUSINESS: https://anchor.fm/last-week-in-parenting/episodes/36-HOW-WE-BALANCE-FAMILY-AND-BUSINESS-e510l3 Email us: lastweekinparenting@gmail.com Hope you enjoyed this episode of Last Week in Parenting. #37 SHOULD KIDS WORK?
As our popularity grows, so does the criticism we get surrounding our family business. Some people feel that what our kids do is considered "work", but that is far from the case.  Our kids do what they love and a lot of that is truly PLAY! They get paid to PLAY! Even then, what is the true harm in children doing parent-guided work, no matter the field. Outside of just being kids, shouldn't children know that the reality of their world one day will be working. Let us know your thoughts in a voice message. What chores or work do your children do? #36 HOW WE BALANCE FAMILY AND BUSINESS
Last week, Ami and I were invited to speak at TEDxBismarck on the topic of managing a family and business when your family is the business. If you don't know what a TED Talk is; It is a conference bringing together visionaries and experts to discuss topics of interests within their industry. This was the first time both Ami and I were invited to speak together and of course, we flew with the entire family to North Dakota. We spoke about the keys to building a family while you work together and the importance of defining your specific roles in the family and the business. Everything we shared at the Talk, and even the information we divulged and dug deeper into in this podcast, can be applied to any business, ESPECIALLY family businesses across all industries.  WE BOUGHT A HOUSE ON THE INTERNET: https://anchor.fm/last-week-in-parenting/episodes/35-WE-BOUGHT-A-HOUSE-ON-THE-INTERNET-e4ue2t Email us: lastweekinparenting@gmail.com  Hope you enjoyed this episode of Last Week in Parenting.  Please SUBSCRIBE, leave a review at APPLE PODCASTS...we would appreciate that!  youtube.com/mccluretwinsfamily  youtube.com/lifeofami  youtube.com/playtimewithjersey  Instagram: @jkmcclure | @just_aminat | @themccluretwins | @jerseytayomcclure The McClure Twins Family on Facebook

#35 WE BOUGHT A HOUSE ON THE INTERNET
YUP, you read that right! We purchased a home off the WORLD WIDE WEB! During our last trip to ATL, we were in search of the perfect house but came back to New Jersey with nothing. Luckily, a friend we had here in Georgia put us in contact with a Real Estate Agent who actually knew of a home that was not on the market yet. Our friend and the real estate agent really came together to assure we fell in love with this property. Together they stayed on top of recent renovations and sent video footage of the home's progress. We're already loving ATL and the warm welcome we've received. #34 WE'RE LIVING IN A HOTEL
As you know, we are in the process of moving from New Jersey to Georgia. We've been living in hotels for 3 weeks since our NJ home had to be staged to sell. From California to New Jersey then later in Atlanta, GA, this process has taken a toll on our entire family, but the kids are holding up well. They still find ways to just be kids and have fun in our constantly changing environment. We can't wait until we're settled! #33 This Is GOODBYE
Goodbye's are sad and this one is no different, but sometimes there is happiness within a silver lining. The McClure family is moving from New Jersey to Georgia. While we are excited, it's also sad and stressful. We say goodbye to Jersey's and the twins daycare provider; Mrs. Dorcas has been amazing for our kids! She has enhanced the lives of our kids and we are thankful for that.  Ami and Justin McClure also talk about the sadness in leaving a place that helped build their success. New Jersey and New York has been good to the McClure family and we will always look back with fondness and happiness! Atlanta, Georgia...here we come! #32 HOW WE EXPLAINED ADOPTION TO THE TWINS
We created this episode to chat about something very important: how to tell kids about adoption, or how we chose to explain adoption. Adoption to young kids with a loving home is not a big deal - they do not understand how complicated and confusing life can be. Therefore, Ami and Justin had a lot of internal dialogue in deciding when and how to explain adoption to Ava and Alexis. In this episode, Mom and Dad break down their thoughts and what exactly occurred. #30 The Truth About Surgery
As my abdomen and chest area heals, I am still struggling with a weak core. I thought not being able to pick up Jersey would be the issue, but who knew my entire family would affect my recovery process. YES, MY FAMILY IS TOO FUNNY (LOL) and I cannot laugh without pain. Also, sneezing and coughing takes a lot out of me and I wish it can be avoided altogether. Nonetheless, thinking of the end results are enough to keep my mind off the pain. #29 I'm Having Surgery and I'm Scared!
Florida Destination mentioned in the podcast HERE: VISIT FLORIDA: http://bit.ly/TheMcClureTwins  VISIT ORLANDO: http://bit.ly/Orlando-TheMcClureTwins Justin and I discuss my upcoming surgery and the impact it will have on me and our family. I'll be recovering for a few weeks and unable to perform my mom duties. This will be especially tough because Jersey enjoys being carried, and my doctor gave me specific instruction to not do any heavy lifting. Will Justin be able to pick up the extra workload around our home?  (Justin Here) Yes I will, because while I'm an awesome Dad...I'm also SUPER DAD, Here To The Rescue!! #28 MILESTONES: Our Very First Graduation
Ami & I are proud parents as our twins have graduated from kindergarten and finished school for the summer. Together, we got ready for their Last Day of School and attended their graduation as a family. They have grown so much in one year and we cannot help but to share the accomplishments of our talented, intelligent and sweet little girls. Jersey, too! So many milestones in such little time. The girls will soon be in first grade...in an entirely NEW STATE! #25 Protective Parenting: Raising Child Stars
The McClure Family (sans Justin) was in attendance at Beauty Con - a two-day convention festival centered around beauty - this past weekend. It was the assistant's first time at the front line of a huge, SOLD OUT event where the McClure Twins get to meet and interact directly with fans. It was a bit of an overwhelming experience but they survived the sold out event, almost unscathed but in one piece. Ami & Justin McClure discuss the assistant's harrowing experience. While the family is grateful to be in their influential position, it is best everyone understands the boundaries of five year olds and at what length parents will go to protect their little loved ones. @jkmcclure @just_aminat @mccluretwins McClure Twins Family on YouTube Playtime with Jersey on YouTube Life of Ami on YouTube

#24 We almost LOST our Kids to a Stranger!
In many of our teachings to our kids, we learn a lot about how we can be better parents. We were sadly mistaken when we assumed our Stranger Danger lessons were received well. Strangers come in many shapes, sizes, genders (obviously), but may even dress the part to lure their victims. Check out our latest YouTube Video for context: Will Our Kids Go With a Stranger? Social Experiment What we learned from this is that reiteration is key! Not only that, but we need to make sure our kids understand how to make the best judgement of anybody that walks into their lives, even if only for a moment.  @jkmcclure @just_aminat @mccluretwins McClure Twins Family on YouTube Playtime with Jersey on YouTube  Life of Ami on YouTube

#22 We Found A Nanny!
The search for a nanny is over...we hope, we think. If you remember, a month or so ago we created videos announcing that we needed a nanny - many qualified submissions were emailed. We vetted the candidates and we think we found someone who is right for the kids (nanny) and also for the business (assistant). It's hard to find a person who is both qualified to watch kids and help with our brand. This is a trial period, we''ll see how it works, but in this episode we tell you all about it! #21 Jersey Has Been Really Sick
It's frightening for your child to run a high-temperature. A baby cannot talk or explain how they are feeling, so it leaves parents in disarray and confusion. Jersey started running high fevers for no reason - he was eating well, acting normal, playing, but all of a sudden, BAM!, high fever. In this episode we talk about dealing with an infant/toddler who has a high-fever. * We also provide an update on our nanny "situation" (we think that we found one!) ** And we give an update on the girls starting speech therapy Ami's Instagram: instagram.com/just_aminat Justin's Instagram: instagram.com/jkmcclure Facebook: McClure Twins Family YouTube: McClure Twins Family, Life of Ami, Playtime with Jersey

#20 We're Looking For a Nanny
We NEED a Nanny. Our sanity and health depend on it. lol. In this episode, Ami and Justin McClure discuss the necessity and positive benefits of having a Nanny. Justin thinks it will make him a better husband and father to have help with the kids. Ami desperately needs more help. She doesn't have time to clean or work on the business because the children need constant attention (we have identical twins, which are 5 years old, and baby Jersey, 15 months old). Do you know someone QUALIFIED to Nanny and who might also be a supporter of our family? If so, have them email themccluretwins@gmail.com - we're vetting prospects now.

#19 The Reason We Do This
Why do we do this? We need to do this. The world needs more positive content. If we make others "feel good", then we've done our job. Maybe our content will pave the way for other creators and Influencers to create content that centers on principles and dignity (as we try to do).  Also, we do this because we enjoy creating memories, preserving time, and documenting our lives together. We are a family first and foremost. In the end, we strive to make videos and content that our kids, years from now, will love and be proud of. "Why We Do This Video" referenced in the episode. #18 Healthy Thoughts on Aging
Ami just turned 37, Happy Birthday Ami! She looks great (Justin typing this. lol). In this discussion, we talk about aging, our thoughts on it, and how it's embraced. Why stress about something you cannot change? We will all get old, resisting the changes causes unnecessary anxiety. It's best to accept what cannot be changed:) We hope you appreciate your insights and discussion on these deeper subjects. Please leave a review on Apple Podcasts! #17 We Decided To Put the Twins in Speech Therapy
Ava and Alexis McClure, "the McClure Twins", have an amazing vocabulary and excellent communication skills, but we feel they could use some speech therapy. This is not a bad thing, it's a good thing, and Justin and Ami talk about WHY they are putting the girls in speech therapy. The girls have amazing futures ahead of them, and it's beneficial to them to be articulate and have great dictation (especially for acting). Much of this decision stems from Ami and Justin wanting the girls to be equipped with tools to succeed (at whatever they choose to do).  We hope you enjoy this honest and transparent conversation about parenting and deciding to enhance and improve the lives of those we care about and take care of.  Consider following our journey, youtube, and facebook. #16 Healthy Body, Healthy Mind
Ami and Justin have been working hard to get in their best shape. It's not a new years resolution, this has been happening for months, and the couple is starting to see significant results. Ami is looking amazing (post-baby body), and Justin is getting really strong. In this episode, they  talk about having a healthy body equates to healthy mind; it's true. We hope this episode inspires some of you to live your best life, in spirit and in health.  A few video episodes were mentioned in the podcast, you can see them on the McClure Twins Family YouTube channel.

#15 How To Discipline Kids?
In this episode, Ami and Justin McClure discuss various ways to discipline their kids. Authoritarian practices are preferred, kids need to know right and wrong, it's a parents role to guide their children to be great humans, but the right disciplinary measures can be confusing and difficult when balancing the emotions and intellects of children. Justin has a unique way of disciplining his girls when they are "unruly"...make them eat food they don't want. The twins complain about eating vegetables and fruits, so Justin's new way of disciplining the girls is making them eat food they don't want (essentially making them more healthy). What ways of disciplining kids do you think are effective?

#14 Personal Testimony To Overcome Adversity
A lot happening in this episode; some funny, some raw, and all sincere. The holidays are here, so we open up by talking about some of our holiday videos. Make sure you watch our Grinch and Santa videos (YouTube or Facebook). We talk about how we prepared for the holidays by teaching our kids about giving, helping others, and donating to those in need. Also, we get into part of our year and some of the things we had to overcome, such as unfortunate things from our past. How do we handle these things? It's always best to take the high-road.

#13 Respect Over Views
Is it more important to be super popular with views or respected? We are a family first, and the most important thing is creating content that serves to raise our kids with dignity and purpose. It seems there is so much content centered around, "I need attention, look at me!". While we're not judging that material, it does not serve the people and doesn't make the world better. In the end, we have kids, and we want them to be proud of our body of work as well as help make them amazing human beings.

#12 We Can't Do This Anymore
We have a baby who won't eat...real food. He loves to eat from his mother! but not "real food", and today is the last day; we can't take it anymore. Jersey is heavy, Mama's back is hurting and she gets little sleep. He is 13-months old, so it's time he cry a bit to get a routine. He needs to sleep in his bed and eat at the table with the other big kids (his twin sisters, Ava and Alexis). Thanks for listening! #11 Someone, Please Take Our Kids!
This age of parenting can be so challenging. With 5 year old identical twins, Ava and Alexis, and one-year old Jersey, there is never a dull moment. The problem is Ami and Justin WANT a few dull moments! How can we get some quiet time? lol Someone, please take our kids...for an hour or two, or three or nine:) We love being parents, this episode is based on the discouraging times, and Justin tells another funny story about his hurt toe. #10 "A House That Lives In The Woods"
First off, Justin's toe might fall off. While visiting family, a large suitcase landed on his toe, and now it's many different colors. lol. Who knows what will happen? The family visited Justin's hometown in rural North Georgia, which is very pretty. They had a wonderful Thanksgiving and it was important to spend time with relatives. The girls had interesting observations about being in "the woods". Ava kept saying, "There's a house that lives in the woods!", referring to houses in the woods. lol We hope you enjoy this episode and please check out the corresponding video, "I'm Thankful For You" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nV7PdU-I4CY

#9 What Motivates Us? It's Not What You Think!
This week a friend of ours, Kim Porter, passed away. Kim, the ex-girlfriend of Diddy whom they shared 3 kids, was young (only 47), vibrant, and someone you think to live many years. She is gone. In this episode, Ami and Justin talk legacy and what motivates them to make the content they create. Justin specifically says death motivates him and leaving something worthwhile that his kids want to talk about and appreciate. Kim was a friend to Ami and they share that "twin mom thang", so this is a reminder for her to stay in touch with those you love...you never know when they will be gone. This episode gets a little deep, but that's ok, that's what you want.

#8 My Sobriety Story - How Justin Got Sober
Justin has 6 years of sobriety, but it wasn't easy. In this episode, he talks about the steps he took to achieve sobriety one day at a time. In 2012, after many setbacks from drugs, alcohol, and women, he saw a movie that changed his life: "Unguarded, the Chris Herren Story". In this movie, Justin saw part of himself and was disgusted, but then inspired to change...to be better...to be sober. The beautiful part of this story is how he met Ami and the twins in 2014, and quickly adopted the girls, married Ami, and the McClure Family was born:) thank you all for listening.

#7 Our Twins Meet Twin Cousins!
How rare is it that sisters BOTH have twins? Seems unprecedented, but that is what happened in our family. We have identical twins, and Ami (Mama McClure's) sister had fraternal twins. Their names are Major and Maci. The family flew to Chicago to meet the twins, and this podcast accompanies a video we made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN0jW2baIpU&t=81s to celebrate the occasion. MCCLURETWINSFAMILY.COM

#6 Our Kids Have Never Been This Scared
The kids had to get a flu shot, Jersey was fine (he's 11 months old), but the twins threw a fit (at the doctor). We handled the situation by being straight ahead, real and honest. We feel it's best to talk to our with respect and honesty instead of "sugar coating" things. What do you think of this style of parenting? Before we get to the flu shots, Ami and Justin have a chat about Influencer accountability and doing our part to use our influence for good and positive awareness.

#5 Big Kindergarten Update For the Twins!
We got a request for a conference call from the girls' school (identical twins, Ava and Alexis, five-years-old). Normally this isn't good, but we were delighted with what they shared and we want to talk about it with all of you! The girls go to a Montessori school, which we feel is the best fit for our style of parenting and their learning needs. For more information, check out our website, mccluretwinsfamily.com. #4 We're Opening Up To Our Audience
In this episode, Ami and Justin open up to their audience for feedback and guidance. The McClure Family would like to understand their audience more and what people enjoy (or not enjoy). Justin also suggests that Ami should take a more leading role in our content direction. What do you think? But first, we have an awesome story about Ami getting stung by a bee....no, really. Please subscribe to the podcast, "Last Week in Parenting", and give a review if you can. Also, checkout the website at mccluretwinsfamily.com

#3 We Can Be Better Parents
Ami and Justin talk about being better parents by understanding their kids through empathy and compassion. It's easy to project what we want on our kids, but this can have a negative effect that may last a lifetime. We must consider our parenting actions today, and perhaps use Fred Rogers as the best example to strive for.

#1 Our Twins Need Stimulation
The McClure Twins, Ava and Alexis, need stimulation. We have them in swim class, they are playing soccer, and thank goodness school is starting. We'll miss them, but are happy they will receive necessary stimulation. Speaking of school, the twins will be separated. We are going to keep tabs on their emotions and feelings of being separated. Baby brother Jersey, 9 months old, is doing great. We feel he's about to walk because he's standing up and balancing well. Last Week in Parenting is a candid conversation between parents Justin and Ami McClure discussing parental challenges and successes.
