VISIT ORLANDO: http://bit.ly/Orlando-TheMcClureTwins

Justin and I discuss my upcoming surgery and the impact it will have on me and our family. I'll be recovering for a few weeks and unable to perform my mom duties. This will be especially tough because Jersey enjoys being carried, and my doctor gave me specific instruction to not do any heavy lifting. Will Justin be able to pick up the extra workload around our home?

(Justin Here) Yes I will, because while I'm an awesome Dad...I'm also SUPER DAD, Here To The Rescue!! Thank you all for all the well-wishes yesterday and Happy Father's Day to all other Super Dads saving the day on the daily!

#28 MILESTONES: Our Very First Graduation

Ami & I are proud parents as our twins have graduated from kindergarten and finished school for the summer. Together, we got ready for their Last Day of School and attended their graduation as a family. They have grown so much in one year and we cannot help but to share the accomplishments of our talented, intelligent and sweet little girls. Jersey, too! So many milestones in such little time.

The girls will soon be in first grade...in an entirely NEW STATE! Did you listen to our last episode of our BIG announcement: https://anchor.fm/last-week-in-parenting/episodes/27-BIG-NEWS-Why-Were-Moving-e47qqm/a-aghrnh

#23 Stay in your Lane GRANDPA!

After our last episode, a listener slid into Justin McClure's DMs to put him in his place regarding his comments about other YouTubers. Ami McClure agrees that Justin's judgements were a bit harsh and their is space for everyone in the YouTube game; if you're willing to work HARD! Should The McClure Family submit to the trends and challenges that have grown in popularity across the YouTube platform?

#22 We Found A Nanny!

#22 We Found A Nanny!

The search for a nanny is over...we hope, we think. If you remember, a month or so ago we created videos announcing that we needed a nanny - many qualified submissions were emailed. We vetted the candidates and we think we found someone who is right for the kids (nanny) and also for the business (assistant). It's hard to find a person who is both qualified to watch kids and help with our brand. This is a trial period, we''ll see how it works, but in this episode we tell you all about it!

#21 Jersey Has Been Really Sick

#21 Jersey Has Been Really Sick

It's frightening for your child to run a high-temperature. A baby cannot talk or explain how they are feeling, so it leaves parents in disarray and confusion. Jersey started running high fevers for no reason - he was eating well, acting normal, playing, but all of a sudden, BAM!, high fever. In this episode we talk about dealing with an infant/toddler who has a high-fever.

* We also provide an update on our nanny "situation" (we think that we found one!)

** And we give an update on the girls starting speech therapy

#20 We're Looking For a Nanny

#20 We're Looking For a Nanny

We NEED a Nanny. Our sanity and health depend on it. lol.

In this episode, Ami and Justin McClure discuss the necessity and positive benefits of having a Nanny. Justin thinks it will make him a better husband and father to have help with the kids. Ami desperately needs more help. She doesn't have time to clean or work on the business because the children need constant attention (we have identical twins, which are 5 years old, and baby Jersey, 15 months old).

Do you know someone QUALIFIED to Nanny and who might also be a supporter of our family? If so, have them email themccluretwins@gmail.com - we're vetting prospects now.

#18 Healthy Thoughts on Aging

#18 Healthy Thoughts on Aging

Ami just turned 37, Happy Birthday Ami! She looks great (Justin typing this. lol). In this discussion, we talk about aging, our thoughts on it, and how it's embraced. Why stress about something you cannot change? We will all get old, resisting the changes causes unnecessary anxiety. It's best to accept what cannot be changed:)

We hope you appreciate your insights and discussion on these deeper subjects.

#15 How To Discipline Kids?

#15 How To Discipline Kids?

In this episode, Ami and Justin McClure discuss various ways to discipline their kids. Authoritarian practices are preferred, kids need to know right and wrong, it's a parents role to guide their children to be great humans, but the right disciplinary measures can be confusing and difficult when balancing the emotions and intellects of children.

Justin has a unique way of disciplining his girls when they are "unruly"...make them eat food they don't want. The twins complain about eating vegetables and fruits, so Justin's new way of disciplining the girls is making them eat food they don't want (essentially making them more healthy).

What ways of disciplining kids do you think are effective?

#14 Personal Testimony To Overcome Adversity

#14 Personal Testimony To Overcome Adversity

A lot happening in this episode; some funny, some raw, and all sincere. The holidays are here, so we open up by talking about some of our holiday videos. Make sure you watch our Grinch and Santa videos (YouTube or Facebook). We talk about how we prepared for the holidays by teaching our kids about giving, helping others, and donating to those in need.

Also, we get into part of our year and some of the things we had to overcome, such as unfortunate things from our past. How do we handle these things? It's always best to take the high-road.

#13 Respect Over Views

#13 Respect Over Views

Is it more important to be super popular with views or respected? We are a family first, and the most important thing is creating content that serves to raise our kids with dignity and purpose.
It seems there is so much content centered around, "I need attention, look at me!". While we're not judging that material, it does not serve the people and doesn't make the world better.
In the end, we have kids, and we want them to be proud of our body of work as well as help make them amazing human beings.

#11 Someone, Please Take Our Kids!

#11 Someone, Please Take Our Kids!

This age of parenting can be so challenging. With 5 year old identical twins, Ava and Alexis, and one-year old Jersey, there is never a dull moment. The problem is Ami and Justin WANT a few dull moments! How can we get some quiet time? lol
Someone, please take our kids...for an hour or two, or three or nine:)

We love being parents, this episode is based on the discouraging times, and Justin tells another funny story about his hurt toe. Thanks for listening everyone. Please Subscribe and leave a review if you can.

#9 What Motivates Us? It's Not What You Think!

#9 What Motivates Us? It's Not What You Think!

This week a friend of ours, Kim Porter, passed away. Kim, the ex-girlfriend of Diddy whom they shared 3 kids, was young (only 47), vibrant, and someone you think to live many years. She is gone.
In this episode, Ami and Justin talk legacy and what motivates them to make the content they create. Justin specifically says death motivates him and leaving something worthwhile that his kids want to talk about and appreciate. Kim was a friend to Ami and they share that "twin mom thang", so this is a reminder for her to stay in touch with those you love...you never know when they will be gone.
This episode gets a little deep, but that's ok, that's what you want.

#8 My Sobriety Story - How Justin Got Sober

#8 My Sobriety Story - How Justin Got Sober

Justin has 6 years of sobriety, but it wasn't easy. In this episode, he talks about the steps he took to achieve sobriety one day at a time.
In 2012, after many setbacks from drugs, alcohol, and women, he saw a movie that changed his life: "Unguarded, the Chris Herren Story". In this movie, Justin saw part of himself and was disgusted, but then inspired to change...to be better...to be sober.

The beautiful part of this story is how he met Ami and the twins in 2014, and quickly adopted the girls, married Ami, and the McClure Family was born:) thank you all for listening.

#7 Our Twins Meet Twin Cousins!

#7 Our Twins Meet Twin Cousins!

How rare is it that sisters BOTH have twins? Seems unprecedented, but that is what happened in our family. We have identical twins, and Ami (Mama McClure's) sister had fraternal twins. Their names are Major and Maci. The family flew to Chicago to meet the twins, and this podcast accompanies a video we made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN0jW2baIpU&t=81s to celebrate the occasion. MCCLURETWINSFAMILY.COM

#6 Our Kids Have Never Been This Scared

#6 Our Kids Have Never Been This Scared

The kids had to get a flu shot, Jersey was fine (he's 11 months old), but the twins threw a fit (at the doctor). We handled the situation by being straight ahead, real and honest. We feel it's best to talk to our with respect and honesty instead of "sugar coating" things. What do you think of this style of parenting?

Before we get to the flu shots, Ami and Justin have a chat about Influencer accountability and doing our part to use our influence for good and positive awareness.

#3 We Can Be Better Parents

Ami and Justin talk about being better parents by understanding their kids through empathy and compassion. It's easy to project what we want on our kids, but this can have a negative effect that may last a lifetime. We must consider our parenting actions today, and perhaps use Fred Rogers as the best example to strive for.

#1 Our Twins Need Stimulation

#1 Our Twins Need Stimulation

The McClure Twins, Ava and Alexis, need stimulation. We have them in swim class, they are playing soccer, and thank goodness school is starting. We'll miss them, but are happy they will receive necessary stimulation. Speaking of school, the twins will be separated. We are going to keep tabs on their emotions and feelings of being separated.

Baby brother Jersey, 9 months old, is doing great. We feel he's about to walk because he's standing up and balancing well.

Last Week in Parenting is a candid conversation between parents Justin and Ami McClure discussing parental challenges and successes.
