Intention for Love - Lynne McTaggart

Intention for Love - Lynne McTaggart

In the book ‘The Field’, Lynne McTaggart showed us how clear the connection between intention and outcomes are.

Very much like Dr. Wayne Dyer, Lynne helps us navigate spirituality in a way that is simple and easy to understand. Using science, research and her journalism background, Lynne is able to inspire us to use our thoughts, our hearts and our minds towards outcomes we want.

Lynne’s book, The Field, is a fantastic read and it shows such astounding proof that our thoughts do impact our physical world and that of the world of those we love.

In this rare interview, Lynne shares with us insights from her research, ways we can become more grounded in intention, and how we can create more positive relationships as a result.

If you enjoy the work of Don Miguel Ruiz, Drs. John and Julie Gottman, Drs. Gay & Kathlyn Hendricks, Marianne Williamson, or any of our other guests then you’ll surely love this interview with Lynne.

Don Miguel Ruiz Interview - The Mastery of Love & Toltec Wisdom

Don Miguel Ruiz Interview - The Mastery of Love & Toltec Wisdom

One of my favorite books of all times is: The Four Agreements.

It’s for this reason it’s such an honor to be interviewing author, speaker and Toltec Wisdom teacher - Don Miguel Ruiz on today's episode of LastingLoveConnection podcast.

Don's book, Mastery of Love, has been a favorite of mine for many years as well.

Each of his books brings us into truth, light, and a deeper connection to what really matters.

Don’s ability to write with simplicity and teach with such clarity is what makes him a favorite of millions world-wide.

The wisdom that Don teaches stretches beyond religion or sect, and goes straight to the heart.

On our path to live the Mastery of Love or stay grounded in the four agreements it can become all too easy to make the agreements a way to judge ourselves…

As humans this is the barrier between us and love —the judgements.

We’ve all been taught and domesticated into a mindset full of rules.

These rules and judgements hurt us…

But the problem is this: Most of us don’t know how to stop.

And we don’t know that there’s even a problem —how can we when we are swimming in the issue?

In today’s interview Don Miguel Ruiz joins us to teach us the Mastery of Love, to help us the judgments, and guide us back to the heart of self-love.

Click to Tweet - We must all master self-love. Self-love is the answer.

Big Take Away - We are not happy because we judge and condemn ourselves. We must learn to love ourselves unconditionally.

What Makes Love Last? A Rare In-Person Interview with Drs. John and Julie Gottman

What Makes Love Last? A Rare In-Person Interview with Drs. John and Julie Gottman

I started working with the Loving Children, Loving Families project with a question - a yearning desire to understand one thing:

What makes love last?

Day and night, I saw couple after couple transform.

Groups of 2-20 couples gathered around on the second floor of a small house, turned non-profit center, in Bothell, WA.

Couples found ways to discuss the taboo. The hidden. The feared.

Looking into each other’s eyes, couples learned how to use Gentle Start Up to discuss their problems.

They learned how to bring more love into their lives.

Each day, I watched masses of kids enter the non-profit with their parents. I saw the children transformed as their parents stopped complaining about them.

Mom and Dad stopped saying: “Our son has a problem. He has a short temper and he yells a lot. We need you to help us change him.”

Instead they began to say: “Our son is like this because we set a bad example. We yell a lot and get angry easily. Let’s be better partners to each other. Let’s help Tommy by being better partners.”

It wasn't just the couples and the children who were changing.

To me, this was more than just a job. This sparked a passion and talent within me that made me feel alive.

The Gottman’s research had become part of my obsession.

Bruce Muzik - Being Vulnerable so We Can Connect

Is it hard to recover and make up after a fight?

According to Dr. Harville Hendrix, it's not about how often you fight - it's about how quickly you can recover.

Kamala and I agree.

It's during those fights and those times of distance that many couples grow apart, fall out love, or decide it's just not worth it.

But here's the thing -- every couple struggles sometimes, and every couple has to master the critical skill of recovery and reconnection.

Before I continue, let me tell you that Kamala and I are like any couple - we argue and we mess up.

Earlier this week we had one of those fails.

We got into an argument, things weren't handled the best.

We had to take a breather, take a time out, and then come back together.

Fortunately Kamala and I know some secretes to cover the gap, make up, and get connected quickly.

In today's episode we will delve into the skills needed for recovery, the mindset to help you get the love back, and have that amazing connection.

Larry Bilotta - Save Your Marriage

Larry Bilotta - Save Your Marriage

Larry Bilotta's education comes straight from the trenches. That's why I invited him on the show.

He was unhappily married for 27 years. He used to refer to his marriage as hell.

Then he discovered some keys to help him shift, transform, and make his marriage a safe haven. A place of love.

He went on to teach his discoveries to thousands of couples.

His insights, teachings, and methods work.

Interestingly enough, Larry believes that to save a marriage it only takes one person. If one person can change, the whole marriage can change.

In the field of marital success, that's unique!

I had to bring him on the show to tell us more about his 27 years of committed hell, how he shifted, and how we was able to get his marriage to thrive -- despite having had divorce papers already filled out!

Dr. John Gray Interview

Dr. John Gray Interview

My first read of, “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus” didn’t leave me excited about interviewing Dr. John Gray.

So, I waited.

I read more.

The book struck me as having interesting points, yet I found it to be incredibly polarizing. Men are from Mars, Women are Venus. Are we really so different? In my experience has always been no.

Men and women have some basic differences, like our anatomy. Yet, in so many ways we are also the same. We all want to be heard, connect, love and be loved. When we are upset we don’t function differently because of our gender, we function differently because of our history and our personal differences—differences that are gender based.

I sat with these thoughts for a while, then decided to reach to Dr. John Gray, and see if he could teach and convince me otherwise.

Immediately into our interview Dr. John Gray began to explain how men and women are very different. Women can make babies- men can’t. Men have many more times the testostorone that a woman does. Oxytocin lowers stress in women, not for men, but it does lower testosterone for men. This all impacts our motivations. These differences impact us in major ways.

Dr. John had amazing points, and I wanted to learn more.

Our conversation continued and we discussed how men can serve women. And more importantly for the listeners, how have the needs of modern men and women changed. How can modern man and modern women be better partners? How have the significant changes of our time impacted couples?

If you want to learn, hit play, and while you’re listening— let me know, what you think: “Are men and women significantly different?”

How Oxytocin impacts your relationships: Interview with Dr. Paul J. Zak

How Oxytocin impacts your relationships: Interview with Dr. Paul J. Zak

Sometime ago I had the chance to sit down with researcher Dr. Paul J. Zak. As an Economist, you’d think he’d be an unlikely candidate for our love podcast. Dr. Zak first popped up on my radar when I read his article, “Why Men Cheat: The Problem with Tiger.”

His theories on why alpha males cheat immediately struck me. He was using science as a way to explain something that many people have asked. I liked his theories and felt he was onto something—so I reached out for an interview.

Before we spoke I made sure to grab a copy of his book,  “The Moral Molecle: The Source of Love and Prosperity.”  Within the first few chapters, Dr. Paul shatters many of the long-held beliefs regarding a small molecule called, Oxytocin. This simple molecule long thought to be only useful for women breastfeeding is also a big player in people’s sense of morality, mating practices, giving, and business choices.

In this interview we go in depth about Dr. Paul’s experiments with oxytocin—ranging from traveling to South America, studying a remote tribe to spending $6,000 dollars on massages, and studying a previous star from the hit show, ‘The Apprentice.’
