Reps for the National Basketball Players Association approved the NBA's 22-team format to complete the 2019-20 season. Ricky and Danny review the NBA's plan to return to play in Orlando. The Lakers reopened practice facility this past weekend and the NBA world moved one step closer to resuming play. Ricky and Danny discuss the NBA season starting back up and what to expect once games resume. After the break Danny and Ricky get into The Last Dance and discuss who came out looking like a hero and who looks like a villain in this docu-series.  To end the show our hosts get after it in a heated discussion over what it would take for Lebron to dethrone Jordan as the GOAT.

Coming off of a victory against the Mavericks, our hosts highlight the main contributors to the Lakers current streak, such as Dwight Howard... yes, Dwight Howard. Lebron reminds us of just how capable he still is, even this stage of his career, while A.D. continues to be the triple threat player that he is. Rick & Danny wrap up the show with a "what if" discussion had Derrick Rose come to the Lakers, and projections of how the Lakers will do in the coming week.

We return to the Den with solo Ricky on this episode. Coming off of the Lakers' media day, he gives his breakdown and reactions to a jolly ole Lebron as well as the interviews of other players and staff. With Lebron handing him the reigns of the team, Anthony Davis takes lead of Lakers to much of the approval of Rick. Lastly, we get an update on the redemption arc of Dwight Howard who looks very promising, as well as our very own host turning a new leaf with certain, now Laker players. Enjoy!

After the break, our hosts go into highlighting the 2019-2020 Lakers Schedule, giving their insight on match ups as well as record predictions. DeMarcus Cousins tore his ACL in a non contact injury on Thursday. Ricky and Danny first react to the news and send positive thoughts to DeMarcus Cousins, who reportedly has gone "dark".

In the second segment they go clearance shopping and look for a replacement big man to fill out the Lakers thin front court.

Oh, and Ricky goes on another rant about the possibility of Dwight Howard rejoining the Lakers.

Finally we quickly review Kyle Kuzma's impressive night against Spain in the Team USA exhibition game.

There's been a lot said about Rob Pelinka's tenure with the Lakers. Some good, mostly all slander. It's time to clear the air. Ricky jumps on the Lakers Legacy Podcast to review the first 126 days of Lord Pelinka's reign. Kawhi Leonard finally decided there was no place like home. Unfortunately for Lakers fans, he chose the hometown Clippers. The Late Night Lake Show boys react to The Claw leading the Lakers on only to take Paul George with him across the Staples Center hall. 

But this is an episode of celebration! The Lakers have a full roster of real NBA rotation players. Ricky and Danny examine the new additions to the Purple and Gold in Segment 2 and discuss which signing was the most important and most impactful. (Hint: Get ready to Boogie down).

Well well well...it looks like the Lakers MIRACULOUSLY found a way to free up 32 million in cap space JUST IN TIME for free agency. The Late Night Lake Show boys ( @Based_Dan & @MrRickySpanish) give live reactions to Adrian Wojnarowski's "breaking news".  We then debate on the best use of the Lakers newfound money -- should it be spent all on 1 max player (Kawhi) + vet minimum guys or should the Lakers chase D'angelo Russell and fill out the rest of the roster with complimentary pieces? WOW...what a way to open up season 2 of Late Night Lake Show. The Lakers made a franchise altering move for the 2nd summer in a row by trading for Anthony Davis. Ricky and Danny react to the trade news, say farewell to the young core/Rebuilding Era, and look ahead to free agency. OMG we're not even to free agency. 

PS..better believe we kept receipts. 

To quote Will Smith's most famous scene on the Fresh Prince, "How come he don't want me, man?!" Going into this past weekend everyone thought that Ty Lue and the Lakers were destined for each other. CLEARLY that's not the case. How did we get here? Where did we go wrong? The Late Night Lake Show boys give their honest and raw opinion about the state of the Lakers and the health of the franchise.

We have now reached Day 16 of the Rob Pelinka coup of our Los Angeles Lakers the end is nowhere in sight. The Lakers have begun their coaching search by interviewing Ty Lue, Monty Williams,  Juwan Howard, and....Jason Kidd? Wait wtf? No seriously wtf. Why are the Lakers interviewing Jason Kidd? And why were Kurt and Linda Rambis involved? Danny and Ricky sit down and 'try' to figure out what exactly is Jeanie's plan going forward. Is the Lakers current structure going to be what it is going forward? AGAIN, WHAT EXACTLY DOES LINDA RAMBIS DO??? The Late Night Lake Show boys wrap up the show reacting to the 1st round of the NBA Playoffs and give their predictions for the 2nd round. ENJOY!

Lebron passed Michael Jordan for 4th on the NBA all-time scoring list, so why didn't it feel important? We discuss Lebron's big moment, his relationship with Lakers Nation, and how the fans will react when he passes Kobe next year for 3rd all time. And that's just the first block. In the second half of the show we set our sights towards the off-season. What's the best and worst case scenarios for the Lakers this summer as they look find a new head coach and revamp the roster? Will the 2019-2020 season be the land of milk and honey or the valley of the shadow of death? Yeah — we get deep. Come for the mild depression, stay for the trivia.

The Lakers season hasn't gone according to plan and last night's loss to the Anthony Davis-less Pelicans got RJ and Danny thinking about worst case scenarios; like what happens if the Lakers don't make the playoffs? Surely Luke will be fired, but for who to replace him? And what happens if AD doesn't get traded to the Lakers this summer or big name free agents take their talents elsewhere? Are the Lakers stuck with an aging, disinterested Lebron and young players who haven't forgotten about being offered in every sacrifice for a star? And finally, if all that happens, will the Lakers the worst California team going forward? Yeah we went there. Tune in. 

The trade deadline came and went and it feels like the Lakers just survived a fake doomsday threat. The team is still together (for the most part) but now it's time to pick up the pieces  and get it together for a playoff push.
