Register for the 3rd Annual Virtual Summit for Working Moms, Real Talk: The Realities of Work & Life Balance HERE. Have you ever been told that it isn't your turn to obtain a promotion or job? Have you ever felt overlooked for a position? Working mothers, around the world, have been told the most hurtful things regarding their career path; but what do they do with what has been said? How do they move forward after feeling betrayed by their employer?  In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, our guest, Sharrelle Higgins shares her experiences of over 30 years in public service as a Federal Government employee. During her tenure, she has experienced racism, sexism, and hurtful comments, but it hasn't stopped her from gaining additional experience and moving up the career ladder. Using her experience, she encourages working moms to not despise the box people (employers) place them in, but to grow from it and gain a strong mentor that can help them grow along the way.  Sharrelle is an experienced Founder with a demonstrated history of working in the professional training & coaching industry. S7: E95 It's Inside of You
Every March, we celebrate women from the past and present who have made an impact in the United States. However, while we are celebrating other women, we neglect to celebrate ourselves. Often times we neglect to reflect on the perseverance achieved to manage three children while preparing for our biggest proposal at work; or how we were able to achieve a degree while working full-time with a husband and four children at home. And, while we celebrate others we don't think twice about what we have accomplished. Our thoughts most likely include:  I had to do what I had to do Someone had to do it What else was I supposed to do Those are not the thoughts of a working mother who is worth every recognition and celebration she deserves.  Those are not the thoughts of a working mother who has worked her way to juggle the many priorities on her plate.  This is why season 7 of The Latika Vines Show is necessary for working mothers to acknowledge and celebrate how they continue to Make Career History. Join this season as working mothers from around the world share their success pursuing their Career Vision by first learning that they made Career History.  ****** Latika Vines is an Author, Entrepreneur, and Working Mom of 4. S6: E85 Becoming...Stop Asking for Permission
As a working mother, how many times have you heard 'no' when asking for a promotion or work-life balance flexibilities or more professional experience? How many times have you heard 'not right now' or 'we aren't interested at the moment?' Most of your life, you have asked a question and the response was 'no.'  How many times are you going to accept 'no' when it comes to what you want out of your life, relationships, and career?  When you hear the answer 'no', do not take it as your final response. The reason you received a negative answer or response, is because you are asking permission from the wrong person. In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika shares the four things you need to remember to stop asking for permission.  Your Dreams and Visions are yours from God Waiting for permission paralyzes you You were created with a Spirit of Love, not Fear Be Anchored in your Vision and allow it to direct you To gain further insight on your Career Vision and how you can pursue it, register for the Getting Back to your Career Vision Live Training at https://www.visionary-initiatives.com/event-details/getting-back-to-your-career-vision-live-training ****** Latika Vines is an Author, Entrepreneur, and Working Mom of 4. S6: E77 Becoming...Take a Stand
Joyce Meyer encourages us by saying, "don't let the fear of taking a stand hold you back from being all you can be and doing all that you can do. You will never be fulfilled and satisfied if you don't fulfill your destiny. You are far too valuable to passively let anyone abuse or misuse you. It is time to take a stand."  Too often you allow yourself to be co-dependent upon other people's feelings to dictate how you will feel for the day.  Too often you allow yourself to be co-dependent upon other people's feelings to dictate how you will lead your life.  In this season of becoming a woman of inner strength and beauty, you must take a stand for yourself and what you believe in to lead a life that is fulfilling and satisfying. God chose you to be here in this time to fulfill the destiny He laid on your life.  In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika shares the three shifts she had to make to take a stand for herself, so she can lead a life that is fulfilling and satisfying.  Identify who you are  Identify why you don't speak up and with whom you don't speak up to  Accept yourself  Resources mentioned in the episode:  Healing the Soul of a Woman 90-day Devotional - Joyce Meyer | Let's Run: Running the Race with Faith and Perseverance - Jennifer Hayes Yates | Inside Out and Upside Down - Jennifer Hayes Yates | Believe Bigger - Marshawn Daniels | Why Her? 6 Truths We Need to Hear When Measuring Up Leaves Us Falling Behind - Nicki Koziarz  Latika Vines is an Author, Entrepreneur, and Working Mom of 4. [Bonus] Ep. 73 Letting Go of Perfectionism
Do you put pressure on yourself to be perfect? In the society we live in, our lives have to be photographic perfection. But, is that reality?  In today's episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika shares how working mothers can let go of perfection so they can live a life of fulfillment. Latika shares three ways they can let go of perfectionism: 1) let go of unrealistic expectations one step at a time; 2) show the same compassion you show others to yourself, and 3) implement a 30-30-30-30 minute time block to get things done and be done with it. Latika leaves the conversation with the reminder DNP - Done Not Perfect.  Latika Vines is an Author, Entrepreneur, and Working Mom of 4. [Bonus] Ep. 72 Create Your Happy
Going back to Season 4 during our Season Break... It's easy for us to get lost in the daily routine of being wife, mother, career-driven woman, and everything else, but when we continue to neglect ourselves, bitterness, depression, resentment, and a host of other negative emotions creep into our minds. And, we aren't able to give the energy we desire to give to our family, because of our unhappiness. In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika shares three (3) ways you can create your own happy, immediately, by shifting your main priority to yourself. It doesn't mean that you are being selfish, what it does mean is that you love yourself so much that you need to fill yourself back up, before you can pour into others (e.g. family, work, community, etc...). Just when you have been given directions from the captain of a falling plane to give yourself oxygen before you give it to your children, the same rule applies to your everyday life. You must give yourself the energy and oxygen to be able to thrive so that you can navigate how to thrive with your family and on your job. To create your happy, you must: Establish and dedicate a morning routine where you can spend time with yourself   Commit to moving your body   Create a space that you can retreat to Please remember, your happy is going to be what fits your personality and space, but it's essential for you to establish it so you don't forget about yourself. And, once you have created it, you can begin to embrace it. Latika Vines is an Author, Entrepreneur, and Working Mom of 4. [Bonus] E67: Assess Your Need for Balance
October is National Work and Family month! During this month, organizations across the United States are asked to promote healthier and more flexible work environments for working parents. This is the perfect opportunity for working moms and dads to advocate for their work-life balance, educate their leaders on work-life balance, and establish it for themselves.   To understand the need for work-life balance, it's vital for working moms and dads to understand what it looks like for them and their families. Assessing the need for work-life balance is evaluating what is required for both the working mom and dad to take care of their life, work, and home responsibilities. In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika shares why it's necessary for working parents to assess their need for work-life balance, and reaches into the Season 1 vault on an episode that identifies work-life balance and the need for it.  Latika Vines is an Author, Entrepreneur, and Working Mom of 4. As we reflect on the last 18 months of our lives, we encounter seasons of change. Those seasons of change have taught us numerous lessons about ourselves, but the most important lesson it has taught us is who we are becoming.  In this Season-Ending Episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika recaps Season 5 and the various lessons we were taught about Self-Love and Self-Care. Not only should we mandate it, but we should be confident and believe in it. Latika shares with us that we must:  Love and Care for Ourselves by Asking God for Discernment, Identifying what it looks like, and Making it Mandatory Believing in what we were built to do as Working Mothers Push for what we want in our Goals and Dreams  Set Boundaries  Be our own Advocates  Be More Intentional and Productive with our Time What you have gone through is preparing you for who you are becoming! S5: E65 You Are Not Invisible
As the children have returned to school and its routines, a lot of working mothers have felt forgotten. Many have left their corporate jobs due to a lack of child care during the pandemic, which has left them feeling like they are not seen, heard, or even cared for. In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika encourages all working mothers who feel invisible to incorporate self-love into their daily routines. As much as working mothers pour into others throughout the day (e.g. cleaning the house, helping with homework, cooking meals, completing the laundry, and more), they must equally pour back into themselves - fill themselves back up. Latika encourages you to do just that - do what makes you happy.  Latika Vines is an Author, Entrepreneur, and Working Mom of 4. As the Founder, Growth Plan Expert, and Boss Mom Coach of Visionary Initiatives, she has made it her mission to help working moms build opportunities for their success by redefining how they manage their life, career, and/or business while growing in their relationship with God. S5: E65 Fill Yourself Back Up
As a working mother who is committed to raising her children right, spending time with her husband, showing up on time for her job, and being a friend to her sisters, you are always giving a piece of yourself away. And, when you have given all you have away, how are you filled back up or replenished? How do you fill yourself back up from an empty cup?  The word empty is defined as containing nothing, lacking meaning, and having no value or purpose. Does your cup or life have nothing else to give? Does your cup or life lack meaning? Does your cup or life lack value or purpose?  In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika shares how working mothers can fill themselves back up when their cup is empty. Many times working mothers hear that their cup or life needs to be filled back up with massages, manicures and pedicures or shopping sprees, which are nice to do. But, when the nice to do things have been done and working mothers still feel empty, what should they do?  Latika shares 3 Ways a Working Mother can Fill Herself Back up: Embark on a Self-Discovery Journey Believe in Yourself Change your Daily Habits to Take Action  The process of filling yourself back up is vital for a working mother's mental and physical survival. September 16th is National Working Parents' Day. It is the day where parents are honored and celebrated for their hard work inside and outside of the home. Today, I honor you with Amal Clooney's words, "the worst thing that we can do as women is not stand up for each other, and this is something we can practice each day, no matter where we are and what we do - women sticking up for other women, choosing to protect and celebrate each other instead of competing or criticizing one another."

S5: E63 Becoming Your Most Productive Self
Do you often feel overwhelmed by your long task list? As a working mother, you have to manage a lot, not just at home, but with the children, your job, your husband, and other relationships and obligations; and a lot of times it can cause you to be burned out and stretched past capacity. To prevent being overwhelmed, it's important for you to be intentional and focused with your time or productivity.  In today's episode of The Latika Vines Show, our special guest, Rhonda Fore, gives us her insight on how she is productive as a working mother, with a child with special needs. Rhonda shares the top three ways working mothers can be productive by:  Having a schedule of tasks that need to be done that are categorized from high to lowest priority  Use a planner and calendar to organize your tasks (and don't put everything on your priority list to complete in one day) Choose a day to plan out your tasks Whether you operate a small business or work in Corporate America, the above tips will increase your productivity and decrease the amount of overwhelm you have been experiencing. S5: E62 Getting Back to your Self-Love
Since March 2020, working mothers have been home together with their husbands, children, workload, and household chores. While ensuring everyone's needs and priorities are met, they put their own priorities last. But, now that the children are back in school, whether working from home or not, many working mothers have chores to accomplish and so much more.  Rather than grabbing the to-do list of chores, working mothers should take advantage of this time to incorporate self-love into their daily routines. In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika shares a few things working mothers can do to re-introduce self-love back into their lives while they have the time. For so long working mothers have made everyone's priorities their own priority, but starting today, Latika encourages that every working mother prioritizes self-love.  Working mothers can prioritize self-love by:  Writing down 20 things they like to do  Writing down 10 ways you love yourself  Incorporate your self-love activities into your morning or evening routine To learn more ways working mothers can incorporate self-love into their daily activities/routines, purchase the Self-Care Virtual Toolkit HERE. S5: E60 Be Your Own Advocate
Who knows your body more than you? Who is going to fight for your healthcare? The answers to these questions should be very clear; it should be YOU who defends your healthcare because you no one knows your body and what you need more than YOU.  In today's episode of The Latika Vines Show, our guest, Carmen Brown Marshall, shares the importance of women being their own healthcare advocates. We have to ensure that we speak up when things don't feel right in our bodies and be persistent in finding answers to our questions. To do so, Carmen tell us to:  Have a clinical board meeting your expectations - have various doctors who can specialize in your healthcare Find what works for you  Pour back into yourself  You are a joint heir with Christ and must take care of yourself  To learn more on being your own healthcare advocated and to hear about Carmen's Breast cancer survivorship story, purchase your copy of her new book, Looking Well Beyond Breastcancer at https://www.breastcancersurvivorship.com/the-book/. S5: E59 I Am (NOT) Ok
Do you have an open wound? Do you have an open wound from your childhood, past relationships, or circumstances? We can not pretend that everything within us and around us is fine; we have to accept the reality that we are still broken from our past. When we do not take the time to properly heal our wounds, we risk not living the fulfilled life God has promised us. In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika encourages you to admit that you are not ok with yourself and/or the circumstances that have formed your thinking, your beliefs, and your actions. To move forward with the life we were designed to pursue and enjoy, she encourages you to:  Accept your Truth - whatever happened to you in the past, face it and accept the hurt Forgive your Truth and Accept Peace - ask God to give you the strength to forgive  Set Boundaries for your New Found Peace  - change your environment so that your wound does not reopen You can not live bound by your wounds. S5: E58 Set Boundaries at Work
Do you have boundaries? The dictionary defines boundaries as a line that marks a limit. That line can be defined as the answer no, not now, or maybe next time. But, it's a line that is set for yourself and others to adhere to. Likewise, we should have boundaries in our workplace. Having lines that mark a limit to what we will and will not do for our careers and for work-life balance.  In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, our guest, Jolene Blackbourn, shares how she was able to set boundaries at work with two children and what you can do to do the same. She tells us:  Before accepting a job offer, identify the workplace culture to see if the company fits your work-life balance needs Accept positions and other experiences that will bring value to your career path, brand, and mental health Continue to practice boundaries To learn more about boundaries and how to identify your own, check out the book, Boundaries: When to Say Yes, When to Say No, To Take Control of Your Life available on Amazon HERE. Jolene Blackbourn is an attorney and Founder of The Legal Learning Center. She began advising pre-law & law students when she was still in law school and has continued advising for the last 20 years while working as a full-time attorney. Through counseling & her course, Financially Free Aspiring Attorneys, she helps prospective law students save time, money & stress before, during & after the application process so they can graduate with less debt and live the life they always dreamed of an attorney. She is also a working mother of 2 and host of The Legal Learning Podcast, who had to learn how to set boundaries at work.  Latika Vines is an Author, Entrepreneur, and Working Mom of 4. Did you know what degree you were going to pursue and what job you wanted to get into?  In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, we learn that Tonia Rivers knew exactly what she wanted in her career and started pursuing it in High School. Once she graduated High School, she was on a track in college to obtain her degree in Construction, which was the exact career industry she wanted to pursue.  Since only 10% of women make up the construction industry, there were some hard hills and valleys for Tonia to go through, but she prevailed and has made it her mission to help other working mothers to do the same.  Whether you are in the construction industry or not, Tonia Rivers shares three things working mothers can do to push for what they want out of their careers. S5: E55 Our Husbands Don't Know
Have you been in conversation with other friends to only hear that all of your husbands don't help around the house? This has been a common theme amongst working mothers, especially in the last 15 months of being home during a pandemic. Not only have working mothers felt alone in managing the household, but they have also felt like there isn't anything they could do to receive the much-needed help from their husbands.  In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika shares the reasons that our husbands don't know that we need our help and what we can do to change that. Latika references the book, Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus book by Dr. John Gray, which is a relationship book explaining the difference between men and women and their various communication and emotional styles (just to name a few). In the book, Dr. Gray sheds light on how men communicate and what they need to communicate, compared to women, and vice versa. Latika also references the book of Genesis in the Bible, about Adam and Eve and the various roles they play. From these two references, Latika takes you on a journey of understanding that we have to do things differently to gain different results. And, the first thing we must do is go to God in prayer, asking for discernment, and speaking to our husbands about what we need from them. When we combine the two, we gain the results desired.  If you have been feeling alone in managing your home... If you have been feeling like no one else sees what needs to be done around the house... If you have tried to ask your husband for help but to no avail... This episode is for you.   Latika Vines is an Author, Entrepreneur, and Working Mom of 4. S5: E54 You Are Built for This
When I started this podcast, little did I know that the conversations were just what I needed. It encouraged me as I was encouraging working mothers from all over the world to balance life. I was reminded that as much as we think we can not do things, our God knows and believes the complete opposite. He chose you and I to be in the various roles we have and gave us the vision to do so. He gave us the Vision because He created us to do the work. If He didn't believe we could not handle the work, He would have never assigned it to us. He assigned us the role of wife, mother, employee, employer, friend, sister, advocate, educator, and so much more because He built us for the jobs! And, in the midst of those roles, we must trust Him!  We have to trust Him when it feels impossible to move forward.  We have to trust Him when we feel alone.  We have to trust Him when we are overwhelmed.  We have to trust Him when there is no way up (that our naked eye can see).  He gave us all the knowledge and wisdom and discernment to be in our roles, and He is asking you and I both to Trust Him!  Let this episode encourage you to trust God for what He built you to do as a woman, mother, wife, and everything in between.  Latika Vines is an Author, Entrepreneur, and Working Mom of 4. When we do not make ourselves our priority, diseases, weight gain, health problems, and mental health problems begin to set in. Sharde shares simple things you can do today to ensure that you are loving and caring for yourself.  Sharde is a licensed aesthetician and cosmetologist that's passionate about health, beauty, and wellness. Mental Health Bonus: Gain the Peace to Get Through
In the last year, over 1.5 million working moms left their jobs due to the overwhelming responsibilities of being a mother, employee, and wife, all at the same time in the same space. But, leaving their jobs didn't decrease the overwhelm, it intensified.  As a working mom of 4 young girls, I could only imagine what some of the working moms around the world were going through, as I was having my own share of overwhelm and stress managing everything on my plate. But, what got me through those moments were the comforting words of Philippians 4:19 (NIV), "and my God will meet all your needs." From overcoming postpartum depression and going through a pandemic, I had to rely on the words of that scripture to gain the peace and understanding that I was not alone and that God was and continues to stand with me through it all. I just need to rest in Him.  In this bonus episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika shares why Philippians 4:19 can be your go-to scripture to help you overcome the overwhelm. Additionally, she explains why it's important to know that God will give you the peace you need and that He may just reveal to you how to receive the help you need.  Latika Vines is an Author, Entrepreneur, and Working Mom of 4. S4: E52 Trouble Don't Last Always [End of Season 4]
Working moms are working between 40 to 50 hours a week in their jobs, with an average of 11 hours a week in managing their homes and other responsibilities. The stress of being home, working, managing the kids' schedule and online/hybrid learning, husband, and everything else is overwhelming. But, it won't last forever.  The song, "Trouble Don't Last Always," by Rev. Timothy Wright is a reminder that this season we are in will not last forever; change is coming. The stress, overwhelm and burnout will not last forever. Be encouraged that when you are weak and when trouble gets the best of you, God's strength will carry you through.  Be encouraged as Latika prays with you and for you in this season.  Latika Vines is an Author, Entrepreneur, and Working Mom of 4. S4: E51 Create Your Happy
It's easy for us to get lost in the daily routine of being wife, mother, career driven woman, and everything else, but when we continue to neglect ourselves, bitterness, depression, resentment, and a host of other negative emotions creep into our mind. You must give yourself the energy and oxygen to be able to thrive, so that you can navigate how to thrive with your family and on your job.  To create your happy, you must:  Establish and dedicate a morning routine where you can spend time with yourself  Commit to move your body  Create a space that you can retreat to  Please remember, your happy is going to be what fits your personality and space, but it's essential for you to establish it so you don't forget about yourself. And, once you have created it, you can begin to embrace it.  Latika Vines is an Author, Entrepreneur, and Working Mom of 4. As the Founder and Boss Mom Coach of Visionary Initiatives, she has made it her mission to help working moms build opportunities for their success by redefining how they manage their life, career and/or business. S4: E50 4 Things I Do to Get Through Stress & Overwhelm
As working mothers, we are not new to overwhelm and stress. We experience a level of stress daily, which causes us to be overwhelmed and physically and emotionally tired. Would you agree? Especially during a pandemic there is a lack of time and mental capacity to work from home, assist our children with virtual learning and/or homeschooling, manage our homes, nurture our relationships, and the list goes on. But, that doesn't have to be the end of our story. We can come out of this pandemic more organized and intentional with reduced stress.  In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika shares her system in getting through stress and overwhelm. Latika is a working mom of 4 young girls, where she is assisting 2 of her children with virtual learning and homeschooling the 2 youngest, while working from home, nurturing her relationship with her husband, and a host of other responsibilities. In order for her to complete all that she has on her place, without feeling overwhelmed or with high stress, she shares the 4 things she does to get through. Not only will she share what she does, but she will share the resources she uses to manage her stress and a lot of times tackle it before it becomes stressful.  The 4 Things Latika Does to Get Through Stress & Overwhelm include:  Putting Goals and Priorities Down - Latika uses the Project Management Tool, Trello  Break Down Goals Quarterly  Have a Weekly Productivity Hour  Have a Morning Routine to Yourself  With each step, Latika shares what specifically she does and how it has helped her combat and manage stress and overwhelm. S4: E49 Release Your Mental Load
How many of us have a hard time balancing life and work, but still have a smile on our face? How many of us struggle with implementing self-care, but we feel fine? So many of us are carrying the mental load of doing everything for work, our family, and our homes alone. We are trying to keep it all together, but deep inside we struggling. And, this has been one (not the top) of the reasons so many working moms have left the workforce in the last year (March 2020 to February 2021) - we are doing too much by ourselves. It is time for us to release the mental load we are carrying to others. We can not be our best selves, if we aren't able to release some of our responsibilities to others, so we can free up mental space for us.  In today's episode, our guest Suzanne Brown, shares her personal experience implementing work and life balance. And, when other working moms saw how she was able to implement it, with ease, they wanted her secrets. So, she wrote two books to help working moms, the Mompowerment  Guide for Part-time and Full-time working moms. Both books empower working moms to create the work-life balance they crave. Today, Suzanne shares that it is essential for us to release the mental load, or at least share it with our husband (or support system). It includes:  Identifying what you care about and why it matters, and making it your priority Identifying what you can control and manage and let go (release) the rest Understand that our self-worth is  not tied to what we can not control  The conversation with Suzanne was encouraging, inspirational, and valuable and one that should be shared with your sister-moms, girlfriends, and colleagues.  About Suzanne Brown: Suzanne Brown empowers companies to become more balance-friendly and professional working moms to create the work-life balance they crave. She is a TED speaker and has been featured in major publications such as TIME, Forbes, Working Mother, Reader’s Digest, Shape, and Prevention. It has officially been one year that we have been at home, working full time while teaching our children virtually, managing our homes, spending time with family member via zoom, and everything else on our plate. And, when we have been asked the question, "how are you?" our response is, "all is well!" When really, everything is not well. We are stressed, overwhelmed, tired, lack energy, lack patience, and the list continues to go on. We wear a mask when we talk and see others, but in reality, we are drowning.  In today's episode of The Latika Vines Show, our guest, Kadine Cooper, shares her personal experience in wearing a mask and how she was able to take it off. She shares how working moms can take the mask off with three strategies:  Define your Mask Identify the Reason You Are Wearing a Mask Ways You Can Take the Mask Off One notable mention Kadine shared was that Some Will. S4: E43 Who Is Your Support?
As working moms, we do so much for everyone else; but, who supports you when you are having a bad day? Who is praying for you when you feel like your world is crashing in? Who do you lean on when you need a sounding board on a rough day? Regardless if we are in a pandemic or not, we need a 24/7 support system. These would be individuals we can lean on when we need them the most. And, these individuals can support you in various ways, at various times; but it is necessary to have a support system as a working mom.  In today's episode of The Latika Vines, our guest Shaundrelle Green shares her personal story of why she needed a support system; and she takes apart the words S.U.P.P.O.R.T. S4: E41 We Are Burned Out!
Burn out is defined as a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands (or "all the things."). Have you been experiencing this? Have you been burned out? According to my research, speaking with other moms, and going through life myself, working mothers have been experiencing burn out throughout our entire motherhood journey, but most significantly, during the last year. Due to the pandemic, we have been working from home, while running our side businesses, being teacher, nurse, lunch lady, counselor, and friend to our children, managing our homes, managing our relationships, and so much more. We have had an increase of demands on our life - which is good enough reason for us to be burned out. But, how do we know we are burned out and how can you overcome?  In today's episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika outlines the top side effects many working moms are experiencing such as:  Exhaustion  Lack of Motivation Frustration or Negative Just to name a few!  Once we have identified what side effects of burn out we are experiencing, we have to identify how to overcome it or receive our breakthrough. Latika shares 5 tips to help you overcome:  Work out (exercise) Connect with other Working Moms Set a Schedule & Stick to It Use the 30-30-30-30 Rule Don't cram everything into one day Following these tips will give you the motivation to overcome the burn out you have been experiencing. S4: E40 Losing Your Identity
How have you been feeling? Do you feel like you are alone? Do you feel like there are pieces in your life that are missing and you can't put your finger on what it is? Just a few months ago, I realized that I was in this space. I just didn't know what was going on with me. I would look in the mirror and realize I didn't know who this person was, that was looking back at me. Of course, I know my name, but I started asking myself, "why am I here? what is my purpose? what makes me happy?" With us being home constantly, doing the same things constantly, I have realized (and I have heard from other moms) that we don't know ourselves or what makes us happy (pre or post children). So, I went to prayer, meditation, worship, reading, and researching to figure who I am and how I can help myself. In today's episode of The Latika Vines Show, I will share the four steps that I took to reclaim who Latika is and live life the way I desire and being happy as I grow in my career.  The 4 Steps to Discover Your Identity are:  Spend Quality Time with God  Write in your Journal Surround Yourself with Those Who Give You a Sound Mind Create a Vision Board based on your Happiness Using the four steps above can help you to transition from feeling like you are losing your identity to discovering who you are and being happy with your decisions. Remember, our happiness matters and our happiness should be our priority. With a few tweaks in our daily habits, we can be happy again; we can smile again; we can regain confidence in who we are again!  Books mentioned in the episode:  What Happens When a Woman Says Yes to God on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/What-Happens-When-Women-Extraordinary/dp/0736919228  Inside Out and Upside Down on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Inside-Out-Upside-Down-Everything/dp/1732337624/ref=sr_1_7?crid=3VUJI4H2BPVAR&dchild=1&keywords=jennifer+hayes&qid=1613063575&s=books&sprefix=jennifer+hayes%2Cstripbooks%2C178&sr=1-7 Let's Run: Running the Race with Faith and Perseverance on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Lets-Run-Running-Faith-Perseverance/dp/1732337608/ref=pd_sbs_3?pd_rd_w=f98Fi&pf_rd_p=c52600a3-624a-4791-b4c4-3b112e19fbbc&pf_rd_r=HZY3R3702QC6N9A834KB&pd_rd_r=8e796bf9-049f-4b83-93cc-2f3feadb79cb&pd_rd_wg=iayvQ&pd_rd_i=1732337608&psc=1 To learn more about the 12 week coaching program for working moms, please visit: www.visionary-initiatives.com. S3: E39 Get Uncomfortable to Achieve What You Want [End of Season 3]
When we were little girls, we had big dreams. We had dreams of going far and high. Whether that dream was a big house with a wrap around porch and picket fence, or to become a lawyer, we all had dreams. And, as a little girls, those dreams seemed so big. But, what about today? What are those big dreams that you could feel and see as if it were happening right now?  In today's episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika shares the importance of getting back to those dreams. Too many of us have fallen back to living an ordinary life, but are not happy with the ordinary life we are living. Don't you believe it's time for us to do bigger and bigger things - to live an extraordinary life?  Steve Harvey says, "if you have extraordinary aspirations, than you have to do extra." This means that in order for us to live out those extraordinary dreams, we have to get out of our comfort zone - we have to be extra. And, we have to do it now! We can not continue to live in our comfort zones or bubbles looking at extraordinary goals but not accomplish them.  Latika shares four (4) ways you can get uncomfortable to achieve what you want:  Have clarity on what you want Create a plan to do it Get an Accountability partner Create a new habit of motivation  To learn how to create new habits, order your copy of James Clear's, Atomic Habits on amazon HERE. To listen to additional tips on not to stay in your comfort zone, watch Latika's Career Development Training videos HERE. To purchase your digital copy of Latika's resources, check them out HERE. S3: E38 Tear Down Those Walls
Are you allowing the walls in your life to keep you enclosed? According to the Dictionary, a wall is defined as a brick or stone structure enclosing an area. In our lives, what walls are keeping us enclosed or away from our career and life goals? What walls are preventing us from being great. In today's episode of The Latika Vines Show, we are identifying the walls keeping you enclosed and how to tear them down. When we keep our self-imposed or people-imposed walls standing (or up) it prevents us from being great; it prevents us from being happy; we remain overwhelmed with life, confused, and have lost hope in our self-identification. So it is vital for us to tear them down. Join today's conversation to be encouraged and challenged to tear down your walls, so you can lead and live the life you want. Thank you for supporting The Latika Vines Show.

S2: E22 Treasure Your Reality
We started the year knowing that it was going to be phenomenal. We were so excited for what 2020, the year of Perfect Vision, was going to mean for us and our family. And, then COVID hit us and put a halt on a lot of our dreams for the year. Now, our reality isn't as what we pictured 2020 to be. BUT, that doesn't mean we can't embrace our current reality.  In today's episode, Latika talks to you about embracing your reality even in the midst of a pandemic. For years, many of us have fought the mom guilt of not spending quality time with our children; or not having enough time to nurture the relationship with our husbands. But, now that we are at home, we have more time than ever to treasure our reality. We have more time to teach our children lessons and be creative in having fun with them. We have more time to spend with our husbands and prioritize self-care. Below are some questions to ask yourself:  How am I using my time to have fun with my kids? How am I embracing my marriage?  How am I using the extra time I have to take care of myself? It is no doubt that we are in a middle of a global crisis, but think about this: God has allowed ALL families to be together during this time. What better way to honor Him and His blessings by treasuring the time we have together (that we won't have again) and truly spending quality time together. What will be your Tabitha moment? S2: E21 Overcome the Overwhelm
One of the things that many working moms are struggling with is overwhelm. It is the one thing that many of us can't get away from, because we have so much on our plate from cleaning the house, doing the laundry, going to the grocery store to ensure we have food in the house, spending time with our husbands, and the list continues...in a 24 hour day, there isn't enough time or enough of you to do everything. And, it can be overwhelming.  In today's episode, Latika shares three ways you can overcome the overwhelm. She shares: First 15 Matters - the first 15 minutes of your day set your day up for success Gain Support - working moms must have emotional, physical, and spiritual support to be successful  Do Less - we must be able to create a SYSTEM that allows us to save stress, time, energy, and money What will be your Tabitha moment? Tabitha is a woman in the Bible who was very meek and did everything for everyone, just like working moms. But, one day she died. Have you become like Tabitha and been emotionally week, physically week, or spiritually sick? Because of Tabitha's good works, she was raised back to life and continued to serve people, but now she has renewed strength. How will you use the information in this episode to ensure you can overcome the overwhelm? How will you use the information in today's episode to regain emotional, physical, and spiritual strength? May you experience a Tabitha moment and regain what you need to continue to pour into others. Thank you for listening to another episode of the Latika Vines Show. S2: E20 Know Your Numbers
Do you know how much money you are spending to pay bills? Or do you know how much money you are saving being at home during COVID-19? Do you know your numbers? It is important that we approach planning and knowing our finances in a new way.  Allison "Allie" Greenberg, a Financial Advisor/Representative, shares her expertise in helping families achieve their financial goals. She believes that anything is possible with the right planning. It is important to know the following:  your numbers (know how much you spend on bills, etc...) savings is your power (save for potential furloughs, job loss, emergencies, etc...) invest and don't be your own stock broker plan your finances when your children are infants Allie's main giveaway to all working moms is, "You have to know where you are spending your money, so you know where you are going." S2: E19 Taking Care of Our Bodies
How many notices have you received from your OBGYN or Primary Care reminding you to make an appointment for an annual check-up? Have you ignored those notices? Have you ignored those phone calls and/or text messages?  Christina Perez shares great insight as to why it is vital for us to pay attention to those notices, make our appointments, and be an advocate for our own health. In today's episode, Christina emphasizes on the need for working moms to make our health our priority. She shares that one of the first steps in prioritizing our health is having a doctor that we can trust and have a relationship with. Additionally, she expounds on the fact that our well exams are covered by insurance, so there should be no excuse as to why we should not go to our appointments.  Christina also gives insight on why we should have a primary and OBGYN doctor. She left us with three main points: 1) go to your appointments (make them and stick with them); 2) go to your follow-up appointments (regardless if they are scary or not); and 3) put your appointments in your phone (so you can keep track of them and be reminded of them).  We are paying for health insurance and we need to take advantage of it! S2: E17 Sitting Around the Campfire
In these recent months, working moms have increased their workloads at home causing them to work double overtime. And, with those additional tasks, burnout and overwhelm are present, causing us to lack patience with our loved ones, not feel well, and a host of other emotions. But, it is possible to overcome.  In today's episode, Gillian Behnke shares her personal story of overcoming the overwhelm of juggling motherhood and career, and she breaks down the method that allowed her to do so - The Fill Your Bucket Method. This method teaches moms how to create a solid health foundation, set personal priorities and establish boundaries. She believes that moms need to fill their own buckets first so they are able to pour into others. Here are a few highlights of what she shares with us today: we must drink water (hydrate ourselves) we must move our bodies (in whatever way we can) we must identify our values we must establish a foundation that allows us to manage  When we begin to fill ourselves up, it's easier to pour into others.  As a busy mom of two, Gillian cares deeply about helping other moms feel better both mentally and physically. She believes that motherhood does not equal with exhaustion, and that it is possible to thrive mentally, emotionally, physically and professionally. Gillian is the founder of Mom Camp, a media and events company that empowers moms to live their best lives. She is also the host of the Mom Camp: Around the Campfire podcast.
