We have gone through so much these past two months. And, in these months, we have enhanced and gained new skills. But, when we return to work, what are you going to do with those skills? Will you forget about them?
In today's episode, Latika talks to you about how you must see yourself through a new lens. She emphasizes that, as working moms, we must come out of this pandemic, not only as survivors, but thrivers. We must utilize the skills that we have attained during this pandemic, and apply them to our careers. Applying them to our careers, means that we:
view ourselves as bringing value to an organization
view ourselves as being valuable to our families
view ourselves as having more worth
viewing ourselves as having what we always wanted
When we leave this pandemic, we must view ourselves as different, as better, from when we entered this pandemic. When we return to the workforce, we will be better, more grateful, and the list goes on. But, in order to do so, we must see ourselves through a new lens.

Have you said to yourself or heard others say, "this has gotten to be too much"? "This" is in reference to working from home, teaching kids subjects to ensure they advance in the world, preparing meals, spending time with the hubby, and so forth.
It is a lot. And, when you begin to write down (or think about) all of the tasks you are handling right now, while at home, it can be too much. Not only are we in the house, we are restricted from going anywhere, but the grocery store for essential items. These are some very stressful times.
As our roles (motherhood, wife, career woman, friend, sister, etc.) blur together, it is important that we recognize what stress is and how to relieve it or recover from it. In today's episode, Latika shares 3 Tools to Relieve Stress for working moms who feel like it has gotten to be too much and have reached their max. Those 3 Tools include:
Having Brain Breaks
Join the conversation as Latika gives advice on how you can implement those 3 Tools so you can relieve stress immediately. When you have identified how to relieve or recover from stress/burnout, you will know how to identify the signs of stress and work your way down. As the saying goes, "a happy wife, a happy life." So, in order for your house to be filled with joy, peace, and happiness, mommy must exude those fruits of the spirit.
May God bless you and keep you safe!
In the last six weeks, the world has been shut down, due to the safety precautions of COVID-19; and it has been a little hectic. These weeks have been filled with an emotional roller coaster of being frustrated, anxious, overworked, and so many other feelings. We have been isolated from school, work, friends, family, and the world; spending all of our time at home. It has been a lot for anyone, but especially the working parent. We are not only working from home, but we are homeschooling our children at the same time.
In today's episode, Latika checks in with you and asks the question, "How are you doing?" She gives you a few tips to help you to continue going in the midst of this storm. She shares:
sticking to a schedule
not putting pressure on yourself
giving yourself grace
This storm we are in, is not easy; but Latika encourages you to keep going and prays for you to receive the strength from God to keep going.
May you be blessed by this conversation. May God be with you and your family! God bless you!

In today's episode, Latika asks what balance looks like for you. With balance being defined as an even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright or steady; Latika equates work and life balance for working moms to a juggler. Latika describes how a juggler must juggle three or more things in their hand to entertain the audience. Just like a juggler, working moms have to juggle motherhood, marriage, and career, oh and themselves. And, sometimes it may feel like it will fall apart. Without balance, working moms will experience stress, burnout, frustration, and so many other negative things, which affects family life, their own health, job satisfaction, cluttered mind, and the list goes on.
Latika shares the first step to having work and life balance, which is having the Boss Mom Foundation. The foundation that is needed to achieve the balance a working mom needs to have a satisfying marriage, great motherhood experience, and rewarding career; the foundation she created and used after she was diagnosed with Post Partum Depression. Latika discusses her e-book, Boss Moms Can Have it All, where she shares what the foundation consists of, which are the three pillars of success:
Performing Smart Work
Using the three pillars of success in the Boss Mom foundation can help working moms take the first step in getting started with achieving work and life balance. Latika shares tips from the e-book and encourages you to utilize the e-book as a guide for your own work and life balance.

In today's episode, Latika asks the question: What is your anchor? For so many of us, our life is like a boat - a cruise ship. We have so much that is piled on and in us, that sometimes it could cause us to sink or sway in the water. But, when we have our boat anchored to a strong foundation, we rise and stay afloat. Today, Latika encourages you to develop your anchor, which is your relationship with God. You must have a strong relationship with God, the one who knows the number of hairs on your head, the one that created you in His own image. He is the only one who can keep you afloat when the obstacles of life attempt to knock you down. She shares three valuable things:
What your anchor should consist of
How to develop it
How to use it
In order for you to lead and grow your career and live a balanced lifestyle, you must have a strong foundation - anchor, which is your relationship with God. When you have the anchor, it will be easier for you to manage it all (marriage, motherhood, and career) without it all falling apart.

Have you ever been asked, who are you? Or what defines you? As a working mom, we have many roles that we juggle. We are wives, maids, cooks, community members, drivers, and the list goes on. But, who are you? Who is the woman who serves in these many roles? In today's episode, I share who I am, after having that question asked to me. I truly encourage you to look in the mirror and ask God who you are. From there, you know where your destiny will lead you. As mentioned in the show, you can manually take a self-discovery assessment to learn who you are.
