Following 2023, he has a 205-151 career record at UAlbany and has coached Tewaaraton winners in 2014 and 2015, 36 All-Americans, six Tewaaraton finalists, two Lt. Raymond J. Enners Award winners for Most Outstanding DI Player, three Lt. Col. J.L. Turnbull Award winners for the best Attackman in the nation, one Ensign C. Markland Kelly, Jr. Award winner for best goalkeeper in the nation, 12 America East Players of the Year and 131 all-conference players. At the end of the 2023 season, Marr ranked eighth among active Division I coaches in career victories.
Marr earned his 200th career victory on February 25, 2023, an 11-7 win over Drexel at home.
QL: Sean Kirwan (Dartmouth College)
Sean Kirwan joined the Dartmouth men's lacrosse program in June of 2023.
Kirwan spent the last seven seasons as the offensive coordinator at Virginia, where he helped lead the Cavaliers to national championships in 2019 and 2021, along with three Final Four appearances and a pair of ACC titles. Under Kirwan, the Virginia offense ranked among the top three nationally in goals per game in four different seasons. The 2023 Cavalier attack, which was instrumental in the team's run to the national semifinal, finished as the country's top scoring offense with 17.24 goals per game and set a new program record for total goals in a season (293). Kirwan was named the 2021 IMLCA Assistant Coach of the Year after helping guide Virginia to consecutive national titles.
A 2012 Tufts University graduate, Kirwan coached 18 All-Americans during his tenure at Virginia, including recent two-time Tewaaraton Award finalist and three-time first teamer Connor Shellenberger. Another three-time All-American, Matt Moore, broke the program's single-season and career points records under Kirwan's tutelage after transitioning from midfield to attack. Additionally, Kirwan developed consecutive ACC Rookie of the Year honorees in Michael Kraus (2017) and Moore (2018).
Prior to his seven-year stint at Virginia, Kirwan spent two seasons running the Brown offense with two Ivy League titles and a Final Four appearance to his credit. During the 2015 season, his first on the Bears' staff, Kirwan helped Brown win 12 games, its highest total since 2009, to set the stage for a program-best 16 victories the following season. His offense was especially potent in 2016 with a nation-leading 16.32 goals per game. Dylan Molloy was honored with the Tewaaraton Award as the top male collegiate lacrosse player in 2016, having led the country with 116 points, and becoming the first in program history to earn the prestigious accolade. Molloy was also named the Ivy League Player of the Year in both 2015 and 2016.
Kirwan coached under Lars Tiffany, a two-time ACC Coach of the Year recipient, at both Brown and Virginia. Tiffany earned back-to-back Ivy League Coach of the Year honors in 2015 and 2016 — both seasons with Kirwan on the staff.
Kirwan played collegiately and began his coaching career at Division III Tufts, where he helped the Jumbos win their first-ever national championship as part of his record-setting playing career that featured 150 goals — the program's top mark at the time. He joined the coaching staff following his 2012 graduation and spent two seasons leading the team's offense before entering the Division I coaching ranks prior to the 2015 season.
The Jumbos won the 2014 national championship with Kirwan serving as the offensive coordinator to complement back-to-back conference titles. The 2014 team amassed 423 goals, which stood as the highest single-season total by any team in history across all NCAA divisions at the time.
Kirwan gained additional coaching experience at the professional level, spending multiple seasons implementing offensive schemes for the Boston Cannons and the Cannons Lacrosse Club. In 2021, Kirwan's offense ranked as the second most efficient attack in Premiere Lacrosse League history. Additionally, he assisted with draft strategy and roster management.
A native of Boonton Township, New Jersey, Kirwan earned a bachelor's degree in child development and was a two-time All-American (2011 and 2012), plus a 2012 Academic All-American, at Tufts.

QL: Marquette Coach Andrew Stimmel
Andrew Stimmel is in his fifth season as head men's lacrosse coach at Marquette in 2023-24 and was named the second head coach in Marquette University men's lacrosse history on June 14, 2019.
Stimmel leads an experienced squad returning for the 2024 season, including three-time USILA All-American close defenseman Mason Woodward and three of the most prolific point producers in program history in Devon Cowan, Jake Stegman and Bobby O'Grady. During the 2023 campaign, Marquette knocked off eventual Championship Weekend team, No. 5 Penn State, and defeated Michigan, a team that advanced to the NCAA regional finals, by five goals in February. The Golden Eagles played one of the most difficult schedules in the country last season, including a game at the eventual NCAA Champion and closed the season with four-straight games against teams ranked in the top-12 in the USILA Coaches Poll.
Coaching internationally, Stimmel guided Team USA to a gold medal in the World Lacrosse Men's U-21 Championship in Limerick, Ireland during the summer of 2022. He served as an assistant coach for the Americans, who downed the Canadians, 12-10, in the title contest.

QL: Athletes Unlimited Champion, Taylor Moreno
From Athletes Unlimited:
SPARKS, Md. — Goalkeeper Taylor Moreno became the first player in any Athletes Unlimited sport to claim consecutive titles after edging attacker Sam Apuzzo to win the 2023 Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse title after an exciting finish at USA Lacrosse Headquarters on Sunday afternoon.
Moreno, who secured the championship as a rookie last summer, beat out Apuzzo for the second straight year to finish atop the 57-player leaderboard with 1,679 points. Apuzzo, who claimed her third straight medalist honor, followed with 1,667 points.
Goalkeeper Kady Glynn secured third place with 1,346 points while rookie defender Abby Bosco finished fourth with 1,301 points.
Bosco, the first defender in league history to earn a medal, was named as the Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year, while goalkeeper Mira Shane earned the Teammate of the Year award in a vote of the league’s players. Defenders Lizzie Colson, Courtney Taylor and Caroline Wakefield joined Bosco as members of the league’s All-Defensive Team.
Athletes Unlimited also announced that it will continue with a fourth season of lacrosse in 2024. Details regarding timing and location will be announced at a later date.
After setting the league single-season saves record last summer, Moreno eclipsed her standard this season by pacing the league with 140 saves over 12 games, including eight outings with 10 or more saves. She also established a new single-game record with 17 saves against Team Apuzzo on July 30.
To commemorate her victory, Moreno will receive a medal designed and hand-fabricated by Lisa Issenberg, founder of Kiitellä, inc. Kiitellä is a Finnish word meaning “to thank, applaud or praise,” and Issenberg creates awards that are innovative, mixed-media, non-traditional works of art, pieces that celebrate accomplishment, humanity, and philanthropy. Kiitellä is committed to being a responsible steward of our environment, with each step in the process, from design to fabrication to delivery, using minimal energy and material.
Athletes Unlimited will also commission a portrait of Moreno for its Champions Collection, which features emerging artists whose work and approach speaks to the mission and values of Athletes Unlimited. The portrait will be created by Graham Martini, a 2022 graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art. The Charleston, South Carolina, native creates contemplative, fantastical, otherworldly and psychological pieces in the form of still lives, figurative and abstract works. His surreal still lives and figurative images reveal the sense that time and associative reasoning do not operate in a linear fashion. Martini depicts this idea through the representation of simultaneity through collage-like compositions as well as transmutational objects – entities that seemingly change form.
“I’m super grateful to have the opportunity to even come out here and win another [title], but it’s also a testament to my teammates and all of the support that I’ve had over the last two years,” Moreno said. “I am super grateful for that and can’t thank everyone enough for being so supportive.”
