Notre Dame, Syracuse & Johns Hopkins Grab My Top 3 Poll Spots? (LaxFactor Podcast #281)
In this weeks show, I'm going to talk about why I have Notre Dame, Syracuse & Johns Hopkins sitting atop my poll vote, in that order. Many are going to light me up for it, but after Notre Dame took down Virginia, and North Carolina beat Duke, I can't ignore the fact that Syracuse holds victories in the head-to-head matchups between Hopkins and Duke, the only other teams with RPI's higher than theirs.
Michigan Tops Maryland, High Point Stuns North Carolina, Cuse Keeps Winning (LaxFactor Podcast #280)
Every weekend has brought some chaos to the college lacrosse world, and this weekend was no different. After Boston University took down #1 Army Friday night, Michigan and High Point decided to get in on the upset action with each team scoring late on the way to Michigan upsetting Maryland, and High Point stunning UNC. Princeton, Cornell and Penn all handled their business in Ivy league play.
Syracuse Dominates Duke At Home, Duke vs Syracuse Lacrosse Highlights (LaxFactor Podcast #279)
#6 Syracuse hosted the #4 Duke Blue Devils in the Dome on Wednesday night and came away victors, with a 10-4 statement win. The Orange defense played their best game of the season, and in reality the best defensive game any team has played all year long. They held the Duke attack to just 2 goals and an assist. Will Mark was a monster with 14 saves for the Cuse and Owen Hiltz put up 3 goals in the win.
Syracuse Drops Johns Hopkins, Maryland, Notre Dame, Virginia & Duke All Win (LaxFactor Podcast #278)
Syracuse and Johns Hopkins are back near the top of the college lacrosse world, and everything is great when these two teams play in a top-10 matchup. #9 Syracuse defeated #2 Johns Hopkins 14-13 in an instant classic. Maryland needed overtime to take down a very pesky Brown squad. Notre Dame edged Ohio State, Virginia & Duke both pulled away in the second half to pick up wins. It was Penn State beating up on Cornell that was the surprise of the weekend.

Denver Tops Cornell, Maryland, Hopkins, Rutgers & Utah All Win Easily (LaxFactor Podcast #277)
We didn't have as many top notch college lacrosse matchups this weekend, but we still had some solid games. Johns Hopkins took down North Carolina pretty easily and it could have been better for the Jays if they didn't assult numerous UNC players down the stretch. Maryland hosted Princeton and showed that the Tigers losses in the offseason were too much for them to overcome. Rutgers put the beat down on Loyola as did Utah over Vermont. Penn needed overtime to take down Delaware in a very exciting matchup, and Denver scored a late goal and outlasted Cornell by the end out west. We'll cover these games in depth, with highlights as well as many others in this weekends college lacrosse recaps.
Maryland Drops Syracuse In OT, Duke, Virginia & Hopkins Pull Away & More (LaxFactor Podcast #276)
Maryland took down Syracuse in overtime in the college lacrosse game of the weekend, I'll talk about my heart breaking and will have highlights. We'll also talk about just about every other game that was played this weekend including Duke's win over Saint Joseph's, Virginia's win over Richmond, Johns Hopkins win over Loyola, Georgetown's win over Penn and many more.

Syracuse Hosts Maryland At Dome, Virginia To Be Tested By Richmond & More (LaxFactor Podcast #275)
The biggest game in this glorious weekend of college lacrosse is #4 Maryland taking on #5 Syracuse in the Dome on Saturday as the days nightcap. It will be Joey Spallina and the Syracuse offense taking on Ajax Zapitello and the Maryland defense. The battle at the faceoff dot between Kohn and Wierman should be fun to watch.
#3 Virginia will travel to take on #17 Richmond. The Spiders only lost to Maryland by a goal in 2OT's, so they are battle tested and ready to go against a Virginia team that could be scary good offensively this year.
#7 Army will travel a short distance to take on #11 Rutgers. I like Army in this one, but Rutgers has a very good offensive team. #20 Loyola against #9 Hopkins should also be a very good game with a similar rivalry to Army and Rutgers.
We'll talk about those games and many more in this weeks college lacrosse preview show.
Virginia Humbles Michigan, Hopkins Over Georgetown, Terps Handle Loyola (LaxFactor Podcast #274)
In todays live edition of the College Lacrosse Weekend Recap Show, I'll talk about how Virginia humbled Michigan, Hopkins outlasted Georgetown, Maryland took down Loyola, Army needed a late surge to overcome UMass, Boston U. thrashed Vermont, and much more.
Week 2 Previews: Virginia vs Michigan, Georgetown vs Hopkins Show Promise (LaxFactor Podcast #273)
My first thought as I looked at the second week of games was "there aren't a lot of bangers" here. But as always, the college lacrosse gods have spoken and the more I dove into some of these matchups, the more I feel we should see some solid games.
Virginia hosting Michigan could be promising, but at the end of the day, can Michigan's defense stifle the UVA offense enough to keep things close? Johns Hopkins hosting Georgetown also has the makings of a solid contest, but after getting smoked by Loyola a weekend ago, do the Greyhounds have some trouble on the horizon? Hopkins was upset by Denver in week one, but bounced back with a solid win over Towson. Which Hopkins team will show up?
Maryland will host Loyola (coming off the Gtown win) and I expect this to be a solid fight. Syracuse will be the first team to play three games and should be 3-0 after beating Manhattan on Friday night. Rutgers takes on Stony Brook (on the road) in a game that could be closer than many expect.
We also get to see Duke again, North Carolina will take on Mercer leaving Notre Dame as the only ACC team that won't have played yet. I'll talk about these games and many more in this weeks college lacrosse weekend preview show.

Hopkins & Penn State Get Dropped, Duke & Syracuse Roll, Maryland Survives (LaxFactor Podcast #272)
What an opening weekend of college lacrosse. We saw #13 Denver take down #5 Johns Hopkins in overtime with JJ Sillstrop going crazy and scoring the games final 4 goals, including the OT winner. We saw unranked Colgate take down #4 Penn State on the road, scoring the game winner with 4 seconds left in regulation. We saw Syracuse and Duke each roll their non-conference foes. We saw Loyola beat up on a Georgetown team that is trying out all sorts of new starters. Maryland needed 2OT's to take down Richmond on the road. Rutgers eeked out a 2-goal win over Lehigh. Ohio State was losing to Utah for most of the game before rebounding and picking up the win. We'll talk about all of these games and more in this seasons first college lacrosse weekend roundup.

Week 1 Previews: Hopkins & OSU Will Be Tested, Duke & Syracuse Will Roll (LaxFactor Podcast #271)
In our first week of college lacrosse action, Johns Hopkins taking on Denver would appear to be the big matchup of the weekend. However, I think that Ohio State is going to get a very solid test taking on Utah at home. Penn State, Maryland, Syracuse and Duke are both playing games they should handily win. Rutgers hosting Lehigh, and Loyola hosting Georgetown should actually end up being the best games of the weekend.

PLL Cities Announced & LaxFactor College Player Ratings Are Coming Soon (LaxFactor Podcast #269)
It's official, the Premier Lacrosse League has finally hitched their teams to cities (and regions) and I'm officially a New York Atlas fan. Glad to get to root on my favorite PLL player, Jeff Teat (and company) and I hope this causes me to become as addicted to the PLL as I have been to college lacrosse for the last 5 or 6 years.
Also, huge announcement, I've been working a formula to rank college players (at every position) and that rating will be known as a players LaxFactor Rating. The LaxFactor Ratings will weight specific data points differently across each position group. I'm still working on finalizing the attack rating system, but should have it complete in time to do a reveal of my top 30 attackmen along with their scores for next weekends show.
Syracuse Wins The Transfer Portal w/ Stevens, Mule, English & More (LaxFactor Podcast #268)
Syracuse Lacrosse will have an embarrassment of riches in terms of offensive depth in the spring of 2024 thanks to winning the transfer portal. Jake Stevens & Sam English (Princeton) will both see a ton of time at midfield and attackman Christian Mule (Lehigh) is the perfect compliment to Spallina and Hiltz on attack. But adding a FOGO and two very capable LSM's certainly doesn't hurt. This is a much improved roster between these key transfers, the incoming guys and the returners will reap the benefits.

Notre Dame Defeats Duke, Irish Crowned National Champions On Memorial Day (LaxFactor Podcast #266)
As you all now know, Notre Dame has been crowned the DI College Lacrosse National Champion after defeating Duke 13-9 on Memorial Day this past weekend. Liam Entenmann was named the games most outstanding player making 18 saves (7 of them in the fourth quarter) as the Irish pulled away from the Blue Devils enroute to winning the programs first national title.
All in all, it was an incredible final after we had perhaps the best semifinal games I can recall seeing back to back on Saturday.
And that does it for season 4, but IT’S NOT GOODBYE. I’ll be back live streaming this Saturday at 10am to recap the entire season, hand out my end of season awards and talk some PLL LACROSSE which I will cover through the summer.
NCAA Lacrosse Final 4 Previews, Duke vs Penn State, Virginia vs Notre Dame (LaxFactor Podcast #265)
In our final college lacrosse weekend preview episode of the year, we're going to talk the NCAA College Lacrosse Final 4 matchups with Penn State taking on Duke, and Notre Dame taking on Virginia. This will be the third time UVA and ND have faced each other this season with Virginia taking both regular season matchups. Penn State and Duke have not played yet, but they match up well so long as Penn State can keep Brennan O'Neill from carving them up. All American goaltender Jack Fracyon may be able to help the Nittany Lions defense with that. We'll also talk about the DII and DIII matchups between Mercyhurst and Lenoir-Rhyne and Salisbury and Tufts.
College lacrosse Final 4 Is Set, Notre Dame vs Virginia & Penn State vs Duke (LaxFactor Podcast #264)
What a weekend of high quality college lacrosse. We had some close games, no absolute blowouts and the stage is set for Memorial Day Weekend which for lacrosse fans has become one of the most holy holiday weekends of the year. We’re going to talk about Virginia’s win over Georgetown, Duke’s win over Michigan, Penn State’s win over Army as well as Notre Dame’s win over Johns Hopkins. But we’ll also dive into the DII and DIII semifinal games played this weekend that saw Mercyhurst upset Lemoyne and Lenoir-Rhyne take out Limestone. In DIII action I watched Tufts take down RIT and Salisbury defeat Christopher Newport.

NCAA Tournament Quarterfinal Previews, Talking D1, D2 & D3 Lacrosse Today (LaxFactor Podcast #263)
OK, today I’ll talk about the D1 NCAA Lacrosse Tournament as well as about games for the D2 and D3 tournaments. Every game this weekend at the Division I level have promise, but I think the Georgetown vs Virginia and Army vs Penn State matchups could be crazy. Duke has shown they are susceptible to getting upset, they did lose to Jacksonville early this season after all. Notre Dame and Hopkins rarely faceoff against each other, so no matter what the outcome of that game it will be fun to watch. I don’t hate Hopkins chances at screwing up Notre Dame’s fun. We’ll also talk about all of the D2 and D3 tournament games as well.

NCAA Tournament 1st Round Recaps, Michigan & Duke Survive, Terps Go Home (LaxFactor Podcast #262)
This weekend’s NCAA Lacrosse Tournament First Round gave us four 1-goal games, a 2-goal game and a bunch of goals in the games that weren’t so close. It was apparent that #Donna got it “mostly” right in terms of seeding with one GLARING MISTAKE, and that was handing #1 Duke a first-round matchup against Delaware, let’s dive into it.

NCAA Lacrosse Tournament First Round Game Previews, Duke, Notre Dame & Virginia Want Revenge (LaxFactor Podcast #261)
Duke and Notre Dame were left out of the NCAA Lacrosse Tournament a season ago and now that they've locked up the #1 and #2 seeds respectively, they will be seeking revenge for last years snub. I’m going to rip through and discuss this upcoming weekend's NCAA tournament games in order of how worthy I think they’ll be of watching if you want a solid shot at seeing a decent lacrosse game. Princeton vs Penn State promises to be a really incredible game and I think that Yale vs Georgetown won't be too far behind it. But can Army upset Maryland and maybe Michigan pull an upset over Cornell?

Duke The #1 Seed, ACC, B1G & Ivy Each Get 3 In Tournament, Recaps & More (LaxFactor Podcast #260)
I missed Wednesday/Thursday’s show because I’m a pansy and I was sick, but I watched a ton of lacrosse over the last 5 days and I can say that I don’t recall a conference tournament season as odd as this one. The A10 Semifinals saw Saint Joseph’s (the 1-seed) get humbled in a loss. The America East Semifinals saw Vermont (the 1-seed) get bounced. The Big Ten Tournament Semifinals, the top two seeds got bounced. Michigan took down Penn State and Maryland toppled Hopkins. The Ivy League Semifinals, same crap, the top two seeds, Cornell and Penn, both lost.
If you were a team on the bubble, these games played on Thursday and Friday were your worst nightmare. For almost ever bubble team, they needed one of the favorites of the B1G and Ivy tournaments to win in order to have a shot at an at large. What they got instead was the bubble teams they were competing against for that bid won very important games and improved their resumes, bumping tournament favorites to the at large pool.

Duke Ends Syracuse Postseason Hopes, Maryland & Michigan Advance in B1G Tourney & More (LaxFactor Podcast #259)
We had lots of action this weekend with the bulk of the games being played factoring in NCAA or conference tournament seeding. We’ll talk about a bunch of said games including a couple of overtime finishes between Princeton and Cornell as well as Denver and Marquette. Syracuse’s postseason hopes were on the line in an ACC road game against Duke. Yale and Harvard played a win and you're in game, and Boston University took on Army to decide who would get the one-seed in the Patriot League tournament. The Big Ten tournament kicked off with Michigan taking on Ohio State and Maryland hosting Rutgers. We’ll talk about all of these games and more in this week's college lacrosse weekend recap show.

Notre Dame & Virginia Do Battle, Conference Tournament Seeds Get Decided (LaxFactor Podcast #258)
This weekend will see #3 Virginia host #1 Notre Dame in a game that could decide who get's the #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Big Ten Tournament kicks off with Ohio State vs Michigan and Rutgers vs Maryland. Conference tournament seeds will be completely locked up by the end of the day on Saturday and we can officially begin the postseason. Syracuse and North Carolina will each finish their season against Duke and Notre Dame respectively and a win will give them hope for an at large bid, a loss will end both of their seasons.

Johns Hopkins, Notre Dame & Virginia Win, Conference Tourneys Taking Shape (LaxFactor Podcast #257)
One of the oldest and most respected rivalries in college lacrosse, Johns Hopkins visiting Maryland ended up being the best game of the weekend, as expected. Hopkins picked up the win, and is now looking to be the favorite to win the Big Ten tournament, but seeing how every team makes the cut, it could still get interesting.
North Carolina and Syracuse both badly needed wins to keep their hopes for an at large bid alive, and both lost as Notre Dame and Virginia handled their business against their ACC rivals in a weekend that saw Duke relax with a weekend off.
Cornell and Princeton both picked up victories to remain at the top of the Ivy League standings and there were huge games in almost every conference in terms of setting up the conference tournament seedings and so on.

Syracuse, Duke, Cornell & Georgetown All Win In Dramatic One-Goal Games (LaxFactor Podcast #255)
As a die-hard Syracuse fan, I was on the edge of my seat as Michael Leo scored the game winner with 12 seconds left against North Carolina Saturday in a must-win for the Orange. I was pretty sure Duke was going to roll Virginia for the 105th time in a row, but UVA battled back and made Duke earn the W by the end. Cornell and Georgetown each won one-goal games, the Hoyas needed a Tucker Dordevic goal in OT to taste victory. I'll talk about these games and many more in this weekends college lacrosse weekend review.

#3 Duke Hosts #2 Virginia, Huge B1G, Patriot, AE & Ivy Matchups Looming (LaxFactor Podcast #254)
We're at the stage of the college lacrosse season where every game has huge conference tournament and NCAA tournament implications. While #3 Duke hosting #2 Virginia only plays into NCAA tournament seeding, as both of these teams have done enough to lock up their spots, it should still be a must watch game on Saturday.
The rest of the field has a lot more to play for than just seeding and bragging rights. Boston University's tilt against #20 Loyola is huge for both teams as Loyola is currently on the bubble, and Boston University could position themselves on the bubble if they can win out. Army hosting Cornell is the last non-conference matchup for both teams and represents each teams last chance at picking up a high RPI win. North Carolina just about "punches their ticket" for an at large bid if they can beat Syracuse on Saturday, and for the Orange, their only hope of staying a live and getting a potential at large bid will require a W on Saturday against the Heels.
Moral of the story, there are a lot of very important lacrosse games being played this weekend, but I'll dive a bit more into the games I'm featuring in this episode.

Michigan Drops Maryland, Cardiac Quakers Win, Notre Dame Routes Cuse & More (LaxFactor Podcast #251)
While I don't dive into Friday nights contest that saw Duke take down Virginia, I do go deep into Michigan's win over #2 Maryland as that to me was the story of the weekend. Penn had a big Ivy matchup against Yale and once again the cardiac Quakers needed to show up to pull out the W. Shellenberger & #3 Virginia Drop #1 Notre Dame, Maryland & Duke Win (LaxFactor Podcast #249)
College lacrosse will have a new #1 on Monday as #3 Virginia upended Notre Dame’s hopes of holding the top spot beyond this weekend by defeating the Irish on the road, 15-10. Connor Shellenberger tore up Notre Dame for 2 goals and 5 assists and teammate Xander Dickson chipped in 6 goals and a dish as well. Maryland probably hang somewhere between #2 and #3 thanks to a win over #10 Penn State.
We’ll also dive into #8 Johns Hopkins win over conference rival Michigan, #4 Duke handled Saint Joseph’s on the road thanks to a solid days from Brennan O’Neill and Jake Naso, #16 Georgetown snagged their 4th consecutive win this season against Lehigh, Syracuse took down Hobart in the Dome and we’ll talk about a lot more beyond.

Tewaaraton Award Update, Shellenberger & Kavanaugh Still Leading The Pack (LaxFactor Podcast #248)
In the 2023 Tewaaraton Award race, two guys stand out from the rest. Connor Shellenberger (Virginia) and Pat Kavanaugh (Notre Dame) are sitting at the top of my 5-man list at the moment because their production matches their teams success. With Virginia and Notre Dame facing off this upcoming weakened, one of them has a chance to put himself at the top of this list by himself.
The other guys I'm considering are CJ Kirst (Cornell), Brennan O'Neill (Duke) and Matt Brandau (Yale). All 5 guys have a legit shot at winning with Sam Handley being my "first guy out". Handley and Penn take on Yale within the next two weeks. If Penn can get a win over Yale and Handley factors heavily, he probably bumps Brandau to my first man out and eats the #5 spot.

Maryland, Penn & Harvard, Victorious In Overtime, Ruppel Saves Terps Day (LaxFactor Podcast #247)
#4 Maryland needed an insane 3-save sequence out of Brian Ruppel to nab themselves a chance to defeat #1 Virginia in overtime, and thanks to the freshman goaltender, Maryland was able to eek out the sudden death win off a Daniel Kelly goal, dished by Braden Erksa on the ensuing possession.
That was just one of a handful of Saturday games that required overtime to decide a winner. Sam Handley scored the game winner for Penn over Princeton. Sam King assisted on the game tying goal and scored the game winner in overtime for Harvard in their win over Brown. Drexel and Lafayette each won in overtime as well over Towson and Colgate respectively.
Another surprise on the day was Marquette taking down Penn State by a goal after holding off the Nittany Lion’s late rally. Loyola was able to top Patriot League foe Bucknell by a goal, 14-13 on the road.
In D3 action, Christopher Newport beat #1 and undefeated RIT and #2 Gettysburg lost to Denison on a weekend that saw top two teams in D3 both get dropped. In D2 action, Lemoyne was able to edge out Saint Anselm by a goal to remain undefeated and hold on to their #1 ranking going into next week.

Notre Dame Needs 3OT's To Top Maryland, Georgtown Gets First Win & More (LaxFactor Podcast #244)
What a weekend of college lacrosse we got to enjoy on Saturday. Notre Dame needed 3OT's to figure out if they were going to beat the Terps or drop one on the road. Lynchburg outplayed Salisbury for the majority of the game, but some bad bounces and rebounds resulted in OT in this DIII tilt as well. Denver didn't need overtime vs North Carolina, but the game had that type of feel to it by the end. We'll talk about those games as well as Tampa vs Frostburg in DII action, Ohio State and Cornell did battle in Columbus, Georgetown needed to finally wake up their offense against Princeton on the road, Hopkins' Tyler Dunn saved the Jay's butts winning a bunch of faceoffs against Zach Cole of Saint Joseph's. Gettysburg Upsets Salisbury, Notre Dame Beats Up Georgetown & More (LaxFActor Podcast #242)
Today we’re going to do something different because we had a big upset in the DIII ranks so I’m going to start today’s show out with #2 Salisbury hitting the road to take on #7 Gettysburg. Lots of people were wondering if Salisbury deserved the #1 ranking after RIT needed OT to take down someone they probably should have beat by 10. Well Gettysburg put that talk to rest.
On the DI landscape we had some really good matchups get resolved including #12 North Carolina handling business in the dome against #19 Syracuse. #14 Duke got out front on #7 Penn early in the game and was able to hold on for the win. #2 Notre Dame put the big hurt on #17 Georgetown, dropping the Hoyas to 0-3 on the season. #9 Maryland hit the road and took down #3 Princeton. #16 Hopkins was playing a must win game against Utah at Homewood and got the job done. We'll talk about those games and many more.

College Lacrosse Previews: Syracuse vs Maryland, Georgetown vs Penn & More (LaxFactor Podcast #239)
Terrible news out of Maryland as we found out Logan McNaney will miss the remainder of the season with an ACL injury. #9 Maryland hosting #18 Syracuse in College Park is for sure one of the biggest games this weekend and we'll talk about that matchup in depth. A bunch of other great games are being played this weekend though.
#12 Georgetown will be looking to bounce back against #10 Penn after losing to Johns Hopkins. #6 Hopkins lost to North Carolina last night, so their game against #11 Loyola this weekend is hugely important for the Jays. #1 Virginia returns to action facing #17 Harvard on the road. Unranked Denver will take on #16 Duke at home. #19 North Carolina fresh off their win over Hopkins on Tuesday will travel to Columbus to take on #6 Ohio State.
The Ivy's are finally getting going as we'll also see #5 Yale (take on Villanova), #2 Cornell (taking on Albany) and #4 Princeton gearing up to beat the crap out of Monmouth.
But I go deeper still and will talk about #14 Saint Joe's vs Towson, #13 Delaware against The Mount and #3 Notre Dame finally takes the field on the road at Marquette.

Georgetown Falls To Hopkins, Maryland To Loyola, Duke To Jax & More (LaxFactor Podcast #238)
Friday night lacrosse was totally dwarfed by Saturday’s absolute chaos as we saw numerous updates, plenty of unexpected outcomes mixed with some butt kickings. What started as a slate of games that didn’t expect to be all that exciting ended up being the opposite with upsets galore.
We saw #3 Georgetown fall to Johns Hopkins by a goal in my favorite upset of the weekend, but Loyola beating #2 Maryland by a margin wasn't bad either. Jacksonville was playing a "must win game" in early February and managed to beat Duke for the second straight season.
Michigan stuck with Virginia for far longer than I expected them to on Saturday only losing by a four goal spread. Friday night Syracuse and North Carolina each waxed their opponents in Albany and Mercer. Duke was the only ACC team that didn't pick up a win this weekend.
But that wasn't it for the upsets. Vermont beat up on Boston U. for most of the game. Air Force took down Denver. It was a crazy weekend and we'll talk about almost all of the games at least a little bit.

College Lacrosse Week #1 Previews: Virginia & Georgetown See Action (LaxFactor Podcast #237)
In this second College Lacrosse Weekend Preview Show we'll talk about just about every game from the first "official" weekend of college lacrosse. Last weekend was week zero and this is technically week one.
We're going to start out talking about the Friday games, UAlbany at Syracuse as well as North Carolina hosting Mercer. Then we'll dive into the bulk of Saturday's games including #1 Virginia hosting Michigan, #2 Maryland hitting the road against Loyola. #3 Georgetown takes on Johns Hopkins at Homewood. #8 Duke looks to get revenge against Jacksonville who upset them in Durham a season ago. #9 Rutgers has Stony Brook at home, the Scarlet Knights beat the Seawolves by a goal a season ago. #11 Ohio State plays their second home game in as many tries against Cleveland State. Two teams I'm high on, #12 Delaware and #14 Boston U. each see their first action and I'll go on and on and talk about many more games.

Syracuse Debuts New #22 Joey Spallina, Ohio State & Maryland Look Tough (LaxFactor Podcast #236)
The first week of college lacrosse action is now behind us and in todays episode I want to talk about every game that was played at the D1 level including Vermont vs Syracuse, Air Force vs Ohio State, Richmond vs Maryland, Utah vs Denver, Hopkins vs Jacksonville, Bellarmine vs Duke and many more.
I'll of course talk first about Syracuse's win over Vermont followed by Ohio State and their convincing win over Air Force.
We'll discuss how Syracuse freshman Joey Spallina fared as he scored his first goal wearing #22 for the Orange albeit he had a rough shooting day.

Lacrosse Lines: Week #1 College Lacrosse Betting Research & Discussion, I Like Utah & Jacksonville This Week (2/3/2023)
In this second episode of Lacrosse Lines, I'm going to talk about week one lines and bets that I'm taking and bets that I'm not going to touch. As always, not betting or financial advice and only bet what you can afford to lose.
My upset pick of the week is Utah over Denver. Denver is a -2.5 favorite in this one and I like Utah to EITHER cover the spread or to flat out win. Full disclosure I took Denver at -2.5 (1 unit) the day these lines all came out, but after doing research I ended up taking Utah moneyline at -200 (3 units) because I think they are legit going to win this game by 1 or 2 goals.
Another "coming in hot" bet that I took was Jacksonville over Johns Hopkins. I like Jacksonville at -115 (I think when I took Jax I got them at -125 or so). I think this will be a 1 goal game, so I didn't like the spread either way on this one.
I also like Ohio State to cover the spread over Air Force on Saturday. They have OSU as a -5.5 favorite and I think they will beat AF somewhere in the area of 6 to 10 goals by the end.

College Lacrosse Previews (Week 1), Syracuse Looks To Rebound in 2023, Jacksonville Looks To Drop Hopkins & More (LaxFactor Podcast #235)
College lacrosse is officially upon us with a solid slate of early games. I'm going to start right off by talking about Syracuse trying to bounce back after a terrible show last season with Joey Spallina and their new look offense. Jacksonville is going to be looking to take that next step against Hopkins and actually pull off a win this time around. What will Maryland, Rutgers and Ohio State all do in their opening games and will it provide us any data useful in helping us determine what things may look like once Big Ten play starts?
