Two Girls One Mic Episode 9

Two Girls One Mic Episode 9

Season 12 and Episode 9 are here yet again!
‘These will all be stories someday. And our pictures will become old photographs. We'll all become somebody's mom or dad. But right now, these moments are not stories. And in this moment, we are infinite.’

Isn’t it strange how quickly time flies? One moment, you are young and full of life, curious about everything and everyone. The littlest of things give you pleasure. Enter- the real world. We all tend to lose our quirkiness, love for life, and all the small things life offers. We work, and we run; we run as fast as we can to be the first, sometimes even losing ourselves on the way. Old age, however, gives us a second chance. It's a It's from nature. It allows us to revisit our childhood and experience human dependency at its best.

Please listen to another mesmerising conversation shared by Simar and Oshi as they delve into the depths of childhood, old age, and life at their best.

Feel free to leave comments as you join us in this hearty and engaging discussion. We would love to read them!

Gratitude makes our Attitude

Gratitude makes our Attitude

Season 15, Episode 1, produced by Sunbeam Varuna School & Hostel Varanasi. Ismat - "If you concentrate on what you have, you'll always have more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you'll never have enough." - Lewis Howes Astha - Maintaining an attitude of gratitude holds significant importance as it transforms our mindset. By redirecting our attention from ourselves towards appreciating people or things, we open doors to express gratitude for every facet of our lives. Ismat - Cultivating this attitude involves consciously appreciating major and minor aspects regularly, such as relationships, health, business, possessions, necessities like food and water, or our general sense of wellness. Astha - Embracing an attitude of gratitude lets us engage from a standpoint of abundance. Nurturing this mindset cultivates greater happiness, positivity, and compassion towards ourselves and those in our circles. Ismat- Centering on what brings us gratitude helps build more vigorous habits of appreciating the significant individuals and elements in our lives. Gratitude, fundamentally, involves appreciating what we possess rather than fixating on what we might lack.

#TataStories with Harish Bhat

#TataStories with Harish Bhat

Learning Forward with Harish Bhat, Season 13, Episode 2.
Harish Bhat, currently the brand custodian at Tata Sons, has held many roles in the Tata group over the past thirty-four years, including Managing Director Of Tata Global Beverages and Chief Operating Officer of Titan's watches and jewellery businesses. Harish is an alumnus of BITS Pilani and the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. An avid marketer, he has helped create many successful Tata brands. He writes extensively and is a columnist for The Hindu Business Line and Mint.
Autor of #TATASTORIES: 40 timeless tales to inspire you. Tatastories is a collection of little-known stories of individuals, events and places from the Tata Group that have shaped the India we live in today.
We ask Harish questions about the book and why the Tata Group is deeply respected and valued for its contribution to the growth and development of India. Harish highlighted the words of Jamsetji Tata in the book. He said the community is not just another stakeholder in business but is, in fact, the very purpose of its existence and throughout the numerous tales. In another book, Tatalog, it is particularly emphasised that the DNA of every TATA enterprise is a combination of pioneering, purposive, moral and ‘not perfect’.
While reading #TATASTORIES, a feeling that is uniform for many is that we feel like a participant and not mere passive observers. Dancing across this long arc of time are thousands of beautiful, astonishing Tata Stories, many of which can inspire and provoke us, even move us to meaningful action in our own lives. These stories bring to vivid life the extraordinary longevity, vibrancy and success of Tata. But at their essence, they are simple, moving stories of great teams, men and women, which hold profound lessons for all of us.

Back To Bharat with Naga

Back To Bharat with Naga

Learning Forward with Naga Season 13 Episode 1. Nagaraja (Naga) Prakasam is a versatile and passionate leader with around three decades of global experience. He enjoys growing startups nationwide and being a lead angel investor; he has led 16 deals, invested in 25 startups, served 12 boards, and seen six exits and two write-offs. He also authorises BackToBharat – In Search of a Sustainable Future. He spearheaded Impact thinking in the Indian Angel Network and co-founded IAN Impact. His mantra is "Startups should focus on India's strength – People, Problems, Tech (PPT)."
Back to Bharat: In Search of a Sustainable Future is a book that addresses the present economic dilemma for Indian entrepreneurs and consumers, looking at the past and current situation of India and the developed world to find a way forward.
Naga's mantra is 'People, Problems and Tech'. My Good School's motto is 'Reading, Reflections and Relations'. We observe a lot of similarities as foundations in the visions we serve. Starting with the IAN Impact, one of his first investments as an angel investor, he has taken up many exciting projects. Notable mentions of portfolios are the Saahas Zero Waste, Carbon Masters and BOSON Whitewater, these startups and how he decides to invest in them.
To help startups and nurture leaders, to solve the simple problems that India faces and to provide a unified, impactful solution to an issue for many. SaaS companies start quickly and move to the USA, which is well established now, but startups that solve big problems in India find it hard to generate money out of the country, so how can they counter that?
Back to Bharat is an inspiring reminder that change is possible - and this is a moment to be a part of the change, for it will take all of us with it. And with that, we come to the end of our podcast.

Honesty and Respect @ The Fabindia School

Honesty and Respect @ The Fabindia School

Joy Of Learning Season 14 Episode 1 - Recording of the session hosted at The Fabindia School as a part of the Learning Forward India Academy Professional Learning Program, focusing on Reading, Reflection and Relationships. The teachers, young and old, new and experienced, and young people take time to explore Values and take their learning forward. Take time to capture the values that people who know you would use to describe you. How do others perceive you, and what values are present or absent in their minds? Would these values be different depending on the context, e.g. as a work colleague, parent, wife/husband/partner? Be honest with yourself. Are our values always positive traits? I was once asked about the expression of anger and whether it should be considered a value. Does anger feature as a value in your list, and if so, how do you deal with it?
Joy Of Learning (JOL) comes from The Little Book of Values: Educating Children to Become Thinking, Responsible and Caring Citizens by Julie Duckworth and Ian Gilbert, exploring twenty-two values taught through schools. We live in a society consumed by materialism and the desire for more. The future of education rests on immutable values: Appreciation, Caring, Cooperation, Courage, Freedom, Friendship, Happiness, Honesty, Hope, Humility, Love, Patience, Peace, Quality, Respect, Responsibility, Simplicity, Thoughtfulness, Tolerance, Trust, Understanding, and Unity. This program will inspire you by using examples of where the values are already being used by children and adults in schools and share practical tools to stimulate discussion and philosophical debate. It will also help people take stock of their values and how they wish to lead their lives.

Caring @ My Good School

Caring @ My Good School

My Good School Show Season 9, Episode 19 where passion meets education. This beautiful conversation where Anvesha delves on the value of caring and Rishona and Divisha share their take on Caring. Rishona: Caring definitely does help others. When someone cares for you, you feel like there is someone out in the world who believes that you matter. It is a feeling of joy and happiness for that person. Caring is shown out of friendship, compassion and selflessness. A caring classroom is where students feel positively connected to others. That simple act can give them a sense of optimism and help solve their little problems. And what is in it for us? How does it help and benefit us? Well, seeing one smile puts a thousand smiles on my face. The fact that I have helped someone out or just given them the joy they needed and filled in the gap in their life, makes me happy as it is. As said, never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world, for indeed, that’s all who ever have. Anvesha: Absolutely just how self love is one of the most important kinds of love, self care is also as vital as caring for others. If you cannot care for yourself then you will not be capable enough to care for others. Everything starts with you, when you decide to help yourself you will end up helping others as well. So caring for self is as important as caring for others. Anvesha: Divisha whom do you care for the most ? Divisha : I care for my family and friends the most but yeah I care about my friends a little bit more because in my family it's just me, my parents and grandparents. Since they are elders they can take care of themselves. But, my friends are the people whom I have to take care of. It's been 7 years since our friendship. Many things change but one thing never changes, Them having problems and I have solutions. The fact that I'm the youngest among them still I Am more mature. Anvesha: And with that, we come to the end of our podcast. Comment below and let us know if you liked our podcast. If you want to be a part of similar podcasts, join us. Meet and Greet with Jayant Kapatker

Meet and Greet with Jayant Kapatker

Learning Forward Podcast Season 10, Episode 18, produced by the students at My Good School, where passion meets education. The Program is brought to you by the students and interns who spread the joy of learning, focusing on reading, writing and speaking.
In our podcast, we have Mr Jayant Kapatker. He graduated from IIT, Kanpur, and has worked in India, Nepal, Spain, Australia, and the USA. He is the founder and CEO of STAM Interactive Solutions.
Many of us deem science and spirituality as separate realities, but once we observe, ponder and implore upon the fine lines, we discover that science and Vedanta share a common ground. The interconnection of science with Vedanta can bring about a dramatic change in the way we perceive and understand the universe.
For over 15 years, Jayant attended Vedanta classes with dedication and passion at the Arsha Bodha Center in New Jersey. This experience was life-changing. Assimilating this knowledge and going deeper into the subject has become the main focus of his life. During this exciting journey, he has seen many connections between science and Vedanta. In 2014, he began writing essays to show us how the teachings of Vedanta can help us add a new dimension to the scientific understanding of the universe. Many people who followed and read these essays suggested that he should compile them in a book. Thus was born Science Meets Vedanta.

If we appreciate others, they will also appreciate us back. That one little action can produce a chain reaction that is everlasting.Tune into this beautiful podcast where Anvesha and Simar ponder upon the importance and necessity of Appreciation. Unity @ My Good School

Unity @ My Good School

My Good School Show Season 9, Episode 17, where passion meets education. We can do so little; together, we can do so much. United we stand, divided we fall. Tune into this beautiful podcast where Anvesha and Simar ponder upon the importance and necessity of Unity. Listen as Aria shares her take on unity, how it has helped her and why she perceives it as magic.

Anvesha Rana and Simar Kaur - Hosts from Gyanshree School Aria Gupta - Guest from Gyanshree School

Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much. United we stand, just as the rainbow colours blend beautifully. We’re in the same boat to achieve happiness. Unity is not just being together; it’s helping each other out when someone is in need. For example, during India’s 1857 revolution, people from all religions and regions fought the British East India Company. Even though they couldn’t get rid of the Britains, they became stronger and soon gained freedom together.  Love is an understanding so complete that you feel like you are a part of the other person. Accepting the other person just how they are and not trying to change them into someone else. Love is the source of unity. So deep down, all the values come to a standstill as they finally arrive at the same spot.

A cause that is dear to me

A cause that is dear to me

My Good School Season 11 Episode 10. Veda Varshita Marrivada Grade 5 student of The Hyderabad Public School, shares her reflections from the Sunday School.

There can be many causes that can be important to us. A cause is a reason which affects an action. Everything in this world has a cause which can be good or bad. Especially humans have one or more causes in life. Grounds are compelling because they give us the power to question something and change our way of life.

I have many causes in life. It can relate to my family, work, academics, and being a good human. But there are three primary reasons in my life to live. They are:
1. My family
It is because of them that I am living. They make great sacrifices for us and help us in complicated situations. They guide us correctly and are ready to do anything for our happiness. They sometimes scold us, which makes us upset, but it's for our own good.
2. My work
I get easily engaged once it comes to work. It allows me to acquire loads of knowledge and increase my creativity. Also, it gives me peace of mind and the feeling that I am a busy adult.
3. To know "THE VALUE OF LIFE"
If we don't understand the value of life, we spend our entire life never enjoying and being happy. If we once experience life as a whole and understand the importance of life, we can spend it wisely and happily.
These were my causes to live, but a human will have a cause/reason for everything.
In conclusion, we should find causes, analyse, think, and act on them daily. We shall indeed observe a change. Therefore, think of reasons every day.

A trip to SchoolEducation.Com

A trip to SchoolEducation.Com

My Good School Season 11 Episode 9. Veda Varshita Marrivada Grade 5 student of The Hyderabad Public School, shares her reflections from the Sunday School.

It was a fun and knowledgeable trip visiting the SchoolEducation.Com. It is a website created by the Good School Alliance program. It was an outstanding experience with many things to know about. As I scrolled through the web pages, I came across many other programs held by the Good Schools Alliance. There were many informative videos. Some programs were Happy Teachers, Sunday School, My Good School Retreat etc.

The school song of My Good School was melodious and splendid. It was soothing, lovely, and relaxing to hear. Also, many takeaways from the reflections given by many students were creative and helpful. Coming to the Internships, the reviews provided by the interns made me determined to become an intern in the future.

The various programs listed on the website gave me a sensation of excitement. The website also gave me the curiosity to learn many more things. The Meet and Greet podcasts were fascinating. It was a unique website because it was like an online school. There were several books to read. I could not notice how fast the time passed by just scrolling on the website for half an hour. The various programs also help us to build our vocabulary.

The My Good School Program focuses on the 6 C's, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, character, and citizenship, which are very important to success in our life and career. There is also a facility to buy many exciting books, such as:

Live Life In Crescendo
Blue Sky, White Cloud
Ratan Tata Ek Prakash Stambh

In conclusion, we have many things to learn, and what we know today might help us tomorrow, and whatever we learn is a drop or a pond compared to an ocean. The trip to SchoolEducation.Com will allow us to learn many new things and succeed in our life.

My Good School
Where passion meets education
And many more are based on our daily life and have many things to learn. This website is very inspirational for me as I could understand there are "No limits to knowledge and learning". It was a spectacular trip visiting the SchoolEducation.com website.

Being Human

Being Human

My Good School Season 11 Episode 8. Veda Varshita Marrivada Grade 5 student of The Hyderabad Public School, shares her reflections from the Sunday School.

Being human is something which everyone cannot do. It depends on whether an individual is human, but what is being human? It means being a very generous human being. It is also a part of Humanity. Being human can also reflect on the character of a person. Donations, Charities, Adoptions, etc., come under the category of being human. A person requires a pure and kind heart to be human. Being human gives a feeling of satisfaction and happiness and teaches us to be good human beings.

The reality of the world hides in a mask where most people claim the good deeds and blame the bad deeds, but rare people are good humans from the inside. People show off their acts for the sake of status but not with good intentions. Humanity is becoming extinct, and many people hate each other. The percentage of cruelty in the world is at a high intensity.

Everyone should be treated fairly and equally. ALAS! I am still a child, but once I grow up, I shall donate money to old age homes and orphanages, give money to the poor and help anyone I see in trouble without hesitation. Also, I shall try my best to be a good human being as an honourable citizen of India, but my parents currently arrange food banks at orphanages and old age homes on our birthdays. Helping them gives us a feeling of happiness and joy. My parents always help others, inspiring and motivating me to do the same.

Helping others makes everyone happy. Humanity is an essential virtue which we should follow for a better world. Being human also applies to animals. Treating them fairly is necessary too. Many people torture animals such as horses, elephants, lions, and other animals for entertainment.

In conclusion, everyone should do their best to be a good human being.

Meet and Greet with Deepti Mehrotra

Learning Forward Podcast Season 10 Episode 16, produced by the students at My Good School, where passion meets education. The My Good School Program is brought to you by the students and interns who spread the joy of learning, focusing on reading, writing and speaking.

Meet and Greet is our event to celebrate the work and writing of authors and guests who join us at our Sunday School, hosted online weekly. In this edition, we speak with Deepti Mehrotra, whose books are published by Rupa Publications Pvt Ltd and are available worldwide.

History narrates tales of courageous, brave, patriotic men who sacrificed their necessities to fight for a more significant cause. Still, while highlighting the men down the ages, we often undermine the women of the past who had performed more dangerous deeds and fought for causes which ameliorated the lives of later women. Her Stories: Indian women down the Ages is not just a novel but a keepsake where the tales and stories of Indian women are preserved. It is a way to hear those unheard of and appreciate their efforts for women at large. Consider this beautiful conversation where Dr Deepti Priya Mehrotra deciphers her book. This podcast is an ode to all these Indian women down the ages.

How did you repair a broken relationship? - Veda Varshita Marivada

How did you repair a broken relationship? - Veda Varshita Marivada

My Good School Season 11 Episode 7

A relationship is a way through which people or things are connected. People can have relations with family, friends, animals, nature and even things. The critical elements for a strong and healthy relationship are mutual Respect, Understanding, Communication, Compromise, and Trust. We should first understand the person and respect their opinions; giving them a chance to speak and putting in their shoes is important too. Being an 11-year-old child, I have never experienced a broken relationship, but let me tell my story with my best friends. My parents and I have lived in Bangalore since my birth. Over there, I met Ridhi and Tanishka on the first day of school. We became best friends. They were kind, affectionate and caring. They would cheer me up when I was not in a good mood. One day, my father said we had to shift to Hyderabad for his job there. I was distressed to leave my friends and head for a new life.

Listen to my story on repairing broken relationships. “If something is broken, then learn to repair it. If someone is angry, then learn to convince and please them. Relationships are destined; just learn to handle them beautifully.” So, make sure you have a solid and good relationship, whether it is a person, animal, nature, or thing.

Our broken relationship with Nature - Rishona Chopra

Our broken relationship with Nature - Rishona Chopra

My Good School Season 11 Episode 6

Rishona Chopra Grade VII Gyanshree School

Nature is all around us. The magnificent trees, the lush green forests, the animals and the birds. And in fact, we humans are nature. We are not a part of it but we are nature. Nature heals us. By this, I don't mean just the trees and forests that heal us. I mean, our loved ones, friends and parents care for us and support us, standing selflessly as our backbone.

Human's greatest enemy is ego. It is the fuel for anger, jealousy, greed and whatnot? For greed, we fight wars. Why? For a mere piece of land. That very land belongs to none of us. Countries fight for the mountain areas that come in the area of our country. But, in reality, that land is neither ours nor theirs. It is nature which has no possession. Just like we don't have the owners that we belong to, neither does the land.

Without realizing it, we hurt nature for a pretty silly reason. In the midst of these wars, aren't oceans and mountains being affected? We greedily fight for possession but do we take that possession with us when we die? One day, it all has to be lost. Plants, humans, animals and birds are all nature. We are one and are meant to live in harmony. But we have all broken ourselves into different categories. We are meant to live in peace and harmony, yet we have created a broken relationship with one another.

The beauty of our world lies not in the biodiversity of our planet but it the harmony that we create with one another. Due to the broken relationship, neither are satisfied, neither are we nor are the plants and animals. It is high time we fix this relationship, by realising that ego is indeed our greatest enemy and has ruined so much for us. We will have to cure the wounds we have caused and prevent more from being created.

I Am Responsible For...

I Am Responsible For...

My Good School Season 11 Episode 5

I am responsible for many things. These words give me a sense of pride and responsibility towards my work, family, and society. Every right has responsibilities, and responsibility is a duty we must accomplish on time. Everyone has their responsibilities and duties. Responsibility means being dependable, making good choices, and taking accountability for your actions.

I've been a responsible girl since my childhood. I had a few responsibilities as a daughter, family member and student. One of my primary responsibilities was learning and studying. I have consistently performed to the best in academics and secured first rank in my class every year. Another responsibility was obeying and respecting my parents, family, teachers, and elders. Also, I kept my things safe as the things I owned were precious and gave me a feeling of ownership.

Since the birth of my younger brother, things have changed. I had got some more responsibilities. I had to help my parents to bring up my younger brother and cope with my studies. Although adapting to the situation was difficult, I sacrificed and compromised a few things for my parents and brother. Later, everything became easy, and I got used to them. Over the years, I learnt to look after myself and decide the right choices in life. Still, responsibilities give me an incredible feeling of joy and teach me many valuable lessons in life, and obviously, I shall and will fulfil my responsibilities.

Responsibility is an essential virtue of an individual as it gains a person's trust. It teaches you to do multitasking and gives you satisfaction and happiness. It provides a sense of purpose and builds resilience amidst adversity on an individual and societal level.

In conclusion, accomplishing your tasks and responsibilities gives you a sense of maturity, happiness, and great joy as you feel you have completed a task on time. "Where there is great power and energy, there is great responsibility." Let's all be responsible for accomplishing what we have committed!

Meet and Greet with Nirmal Ghosh

Meet and Greet with Nirmal Ghosh

Learning Forward Podcast Season 10 Episode 15

Nature has its way of calling upon us, but we often ignore those rare signs. We build homes in seclusion away from the abode of wildlife and nature; when we can live peacefully together, why are we so adamant about living apart? Consider this beautiful conversation where Nirmal Ghosh deciphers his book, ‘Blue Sky, White Cloud: Three Novellas’. Our anthropocentric behaviour has indeed broken the typical bond of friendship between nature and us. Learn and reinforce to reconnect with our roots.

Nirmal Ghosh  - Author of ‘Blue Sky, White Cloud: Three Novellas.’

Anvesha Rana - Host from Gyanshree School

Rishona Chopra and Sandeep Dutt join in as guests.

There was a lot to learn, and there is now a lot to reinforce, but the lifeline remains that beauty lies in simplicity; we might try to complex situations, but deep down, we are all the same man who used to live with nature to now the man who has built homes in seclusion away from the abode of wildlife and nature.

We are the only species with the power to share our feelings with the world, and we should use this power wisely.

Nirmal addresses some interesting questions:

It is vital to write about what we know simply for authenticity, so what was your process of writing these three novellas, what set off that spark, and how did you go about it?

What do you believe is the key to establishing a relationship with our environment, and how did you do it?

Blue Sky White Cloud is a heart-touching tale that echoes a powerful message of empathy and compassion. Amidst all you do, sir, how do you continue fostering your passion for writing?

Talking about ‘Blue Sky, White Cloud’ is a compilation of three novellas. A novella is a short novel, and this tale revolves around the lives of three distinct animals who live in varying geographies and current independent views. Still, somehow deep down, they are all interconnected.

There is more; this is a heart-warming podcast filled with empathy for nature, real life-changing moments and how humans must learn to respect nature.

Trust @ My Good School

Trust @ My Good School

My Good School Season 9 Episode 15. If you want to be trusted, be honest. If you want to be honest, be true. If you want to be trusted, be yourself. Trust is the purest of values, the most beautiful of bonds and the deepest of connections. We all are here because we have the power to trust, we are here because we can sustain being trusted, and we are here to spread Trust among others. Trust is the best proof of love; it is an invisible thread which connects us all. It takes years to build, seconds to break, and forever to repair. Treasure it. Trust is the most beautiful when witnessed; it combines every value we know love, respect, friendship and much more.

Trusting others is the very essence of any human relationship. We can't be friends if we don't trust, we can't be partners if we don't trust, we can't be students if we don't trust, and likewise, we can't be human if we don't trust. Trust is to give away a part of yourself to someone else and believes that they will keep it safe.

At My Good School, we continue happily simply because we trust each other; we have faith in one another that each of us is special and unique, and the My Good School Retreat 2023 experience has further deepened this bond of Trust. So Trust is the foundation of love.

Join Anvesha and Simar in this beautiful conversation where Rishona and Oshi share their take on Trust.
