Le Chèile / Together is a library and community project exploring people, places and connectedness in the Western Isles.
This concluding episode gives a round-up of how the wider Le Chèile Together project played out, alongside some discussion on each postcard/podcast, and an insight into some of our in-person ceilidhs across the Western Isles.

Ep 4 // What's the role of the libraries in rural communities?
In today's episode we discuss another of the topics in the postcards from the Western Isles Libraries asking folks to share what libraries mean to them.
We are joined by community members Steven Bryden (Mobile Librarian) and Kathleen Milne (Libraries Manager) both from Western isles Libraries, and researchers Louise-Anne MacDonald - (Community Navigator for Lewis and Harris NHS Western Isles) and Dr Janet Heaton (Senior Research Fellow at UHI’s Division of Rural Health and Wellbeing).

In today's episode we discuss another of the topics in the postcards from the Western Isles Libraries asking folks to share a special place to them.
We are joined by community members Marri Morrison - from North Uist Historical Society CEUT, and Mary Harman from Benbecula. Also joining in the conversation are and researchers Sara Bradley (Division of Rural health and Wellbeing, UHI), who looks at connections between outdoors and health, and Sarah Bowyer - (NHS Scotland and PhD from UHI, Division of Rural health and Wellbeing) sharing reflections on the meaning of place for Western Isles residents from Uig as shown in her doctoral research.
