Morgan and I take a trip down memory lane and reminisce about the 2012 Death Race and share how we both helped each other to continue racing even when everyone else was literally telling us to quit. In the Death Race, not giving up and doing whatever you're directed to do is essential to finishing. We discuss how Morgan started with a not really wanting to do a Spartan Race to chasing down the most difficult races like World's Toughest Mudder, the Spartan Ultra, and of course, the Death Race. We look at how she tackled the race then, and how her strategy has evolved today, including the ultimate weapon for any endurance race, smiling.

While this iteration of the Death Race was a team event, these two were not partners but still found themselves working together to conquer the obstacles thrown their way. Throughout the episode, these two provide insightful tidbits on how to skirt the gray areas of a race with no rulebook. In this episode you'll hear about how they dedicated their training to this event, sleep hacks, the importance of evaluating risk vs. reward -- in the race and in life, and the importance of knowing your weaknesses and putting the work in to strengthen them. Gaining Wisdom at a Young Age - Andrew Blair | LotDR Episode 015

Welcome to the Legend of the Death Race Podcast, where you’ll hear the legends of past Death Racers, new and old.

In the fifteenth episode of the podcast, I connect with one of the younger humans to toe the line at the Death Race, Andrew Blair. Andrew got his start in Spartan Races and additional training at the Spartan Agoge, a program we developed during my time at Spartan to prepare racers for the inevitable return of the Death Race. Once the Death Race reemerged in 2018, Andrew signed up and gave it a try. Using the experience from Agoge as a gauge for what he was capable of he learned a lot after that first encounter and made a return in 2019. Tune in to hear how Andrew's Death Race experience has developed his wisdom for conquering life's obstacles.

In the sixth episode of the podcast, I connect with the Eric Hutterer, the Guinness World Record Holder for crawling the farthest distance under barbed wire with a distance of 7.54 miles over the course of 12 hours during the 2018 Death Race. He's from Canada, he's handsome, he's probably one of the kindest guys I've met over video chat. With some unfinished business, you'll want to listen to his legend.

Eric is one incredible human and there's a funny backstory to this episode. We had to record it several times because my laptop shut off the first time and we lost everything. The second time the app froze and I recovered it through this really crazy process I discovered that brought my corrupt video file back from the dead. Then the last 15 minutes were still missing. After three video chats, we finally go it all. I really enjoyed getting to know him and look forward to seeing his next dance with the Death Race.
