lemonade-legend-podcast with Lynn Brown

Lynn Brown was a typical working mom with two children and a supportive husband. Life was good. Yet, at a point when her career was peaking, and they were coordinating family schedules well, Lynn began to feel that it was not the right place for her to be. Both she and her husband traveled for their respective jobs and they could afford a great nanny to allow for that. She had been worried that her youngest daughter did not seem to be in the best health. The pediatricians found nothing wrong, but we all know a mother’s instinct holds a power over traditional medicine. She and her husband began the conversation of “should she give up her job”. In the end that was her choice. She loved her work, and the lifestyle it afforded. But sometimes we must make choices that are right for ourselves or our families. Her chapter in The Lemonade Stand is about making the most of your beautiful life. We are only given one. Everyone has a different set of circumstances and we are ultimately in the drivers’ seat to steer the course of our life. It may take sacrifice, but often it is our heart, more than our head that should influence our decision.

Julie shares her unconditional love and determination to ensure her daughters could have a remarkable life.

lemonade-legend-podcast with Gabe Cox

Gabe Cox is a mindset accountability coach, mother of 3 active, homeschooled boys, and an avid runner. She is an accomplished writer having written the bestselling book “Mind Over Marathon”, before joining the team on “The Lemonade Stand 2”. Her lemonade story is about a battle with depression, eating disorders, and unhealthy over-exercising. As a Christian she felt some shame in struggling with these issues when she felt a strong faith should be enough. She tried to control her life through her eating and exercising habits, only to learn they were controlling her. With a lot of work to establish a positive mindset she has turned her love of running into a positive daily exercise for both her physical and mental health. One of her great achievements has been qualifying for the Boston Marathon in 2015 and completing the marathon in 2017. Keep a look out for her next book “Victory Run” coming in spring of 2021.

lemonade-legend-podcast with Dani Warren

Today’s podcast with Dani Warren covers how her earlier and young adult years shaped not only her career goals, but how she differentiates herself from her colleagues. When she chose the industry of insurance and financial services her motivation wasn’t solely on commissions. She focused on the people first because she understands the vulnerability clients feel, and lack of understanding of unique circumstances that may dictate certain financial plans. She opened her own office so she could determine what the mission, values, and purpose of her products and services represented. Dani puts the people back into the financial plan and creates long term relationships to guide them through changes in life and protect them like she would family.

Life Happens, Let's Role With it. That is the main theme of Christina's life past and present. Christina was diagnosed with complex PTSD starting from the age of 5 with a traumatic event. She continued to suffer from trauma her entire childhood and was well into adulthood before she received her diagnosis and began to see how different her life was from those around her. Physically she developed a whole host of problems, from high blood sugar, thyroid disease, migraines, digestive problems and that's a beginning.

Not wanting to be a slave to medication, Christina began a self-help and faith journey to heal herself both physically and mentally. She learned that the longer your body is caught in the fight or flight mode the more your body breaks down. She sought the help of naturopathic experts, books on holistic healing, and a lot of trial and error when it came to eating. This is the path that led her to where she is now, not cured, but in a manageable state of good health and joyful thinking. As a nutritionist, she helps others to learn how to heal themselves through food, exercise, and positive thinking. Life is a choice and we have the ability to choose how we want to live. Christina is a thriving example of taking a lifetime of pain and turning it into a life of purpose and meaning.
