Michelle Coels with One Tough Mama

Michelle Coels with One Tough Mama

Michelle is a fitness coach previously located in Regina, now in Calgary. She loves lifting heavy things, swinging kettlebells and aimlessly walking outside for hours. She is a wife, a daughter, a sister, an Aunt and a Mom. Most importantly, she is a woman working hard to choose love and happiness, everyday. She enjoys coffee dates with girlfriends, shamelessly singing in the car, cursing and snuggling up by the fireplace with her family for a movie with a buttery bowl of popcorn.
Her role in One Tough Mama is to help women experience movement in a way that empowers them to take back ownership inside and outside the gym. She helps women confidently return to the things they love. She fully believe that we are the expert of our own body. We are all in this together.

Haley & Jssel w/ Sprout Catering

Haley & Jssel w/ Sprout Catering

The story of Sprout began with two sisters and a common love for great food. This love ‘sprouted’ into a dream to share that great food with friends, family and the community. With years of experience in the food industry, Haley Blackmore (Business Manager/Owner) and Jssel Hysuik (Head Chef/Owner) decided to give their dream a shot. Sprout began as a small catering company but has blossomed into so much more. In the fall of 2015, Sprout grew a new addition to the business and Sprout Cafe was born. Today, you can find the sisters giving it their all in their restaurant, growing the catering business, helping out in the community and in their (limited) down time – watching Ellen.

Im lucky enough to call these two wonderful women my friends. I got to sit down to talk about their journey, their ups & downs and everything in between.

I Am H.E.R. with Kam Bahia

I Am H.E.R. with Kam Bahia

Kam, being born and raised in Regina, SK, has always found herself involved in community. Having played soccer growing up, she learnt the importance of encouragement and self-esteem, particularly for girls. Kam was fortunate enough to receive a soccer scholarship to the University of Regina, and while being a student athlete, she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Soon after graduating, Kam started teaching with the Regina Public School Board. Fast forward 12 years later, Kam has worked with thousands of youth across Saskatchewan and Ontario. From Kam’s early years, playing soccer for the U of R and through her early teaching experiences, her goal was to dedicate herself to enabling young females to realize their full potential through encouragement and self-belief. To better equip herself to achieving her goals, Kam completed her Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology. Through her experience as a teacher and community involvement, Kam is now more certain than ever that her purpose in life is to help those around her, more specifically, the youth in our communities. Kam’s passion and goal remains - to help young females realize their strengths, motivate them to use their ability to do great things, and cultivate positive change in their lives; who in turn can model their lives for positive change to others around them. She is devoted to youth, showing them their true talents, and being one individual that can be a source of encouragement to help empower and encourage the younger generation of females.

We ask her at the end, 3 pieces of advice she would give to someone:

1. Balance- you have to weed through many daily struggles (Ex: Mom guilt- its so  real). Understand that each day will be different, but having balance in professional and personal life is key

2. Following your passion isn't always easy- fear of change is good.

3. Don't care what others say- prove them wrong

4. Keep your head down- don't always compare yourself to what others are doing in Regina, follow ppl from other cities
