To help me cope, I put together 10 of my favorite live performances that I think you HAVE to hear.  Join me for this track by track commentary of artists who don't just sing the song as it was recorded, but who create an experience that is fresh and exciting every time they perform. This episode features 10 of my favorite Country/Folk/Americana songs, by artists who are already known worldwide and some who are just getting started. Folk and Country music has often occupied multiple spaces in the music world and the same can be said for my own experience with it throughout my life.  It took me years to come back to my roots of listening to this style of music in my childhood and eventually find new artists who are making their own way in the industry as well as discovering old music that I had never been introduced to. It's a beautiful genre with lots of layers and facets, this is just the little corner of it that I've carved out for myself as a boy from south Louisiana.  

Who doesn't love staring up at the moon every now and then?? I started collecting songs about the moon in the past year or so, just a silly fascination I have with moon imagery and lyrics...and I thought I'd share a few with you for this Full Moon. This episode is guaranteed to put you in a relaxing mood, curated with the late night lost in thought type moments in mind. 

It's time for me to bump up the tempo a bit and share some of my favorite dance tracks at the moment. So many people had to get creative with how they experience music and dancing in the past year, and that meant a lot of DIY Dance floors in bedrooms and kitchens. These tracks make me want to move and I can't wait to hear them at full blast in a bar or club soon! 

Surviving and THRIVING in LA takes hard work, but it also takes finding your people.  I've been so lucky to cross paths with some super talented folks since moving to LA and these songs are from a few of them.  These artists had an impact on me in one way or another, and the local music scene became a safe haven for me and my community while we were finding our feet here in Los Angeles. Please check out these artist, many of which are independent up & coming folks who seriously deserve the support!
