S02E04: Two Bible Verses for Anxiety | Mental Health Awareness Month 2022
What is Anxiety? Read this article to get a clear understanding of what anxiety is, how you can manage it and when to seek help (if necessary): https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/generalised-anxiety-disorder/overview/ Jeremiah 29:11 - KJV: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” - ‭CEV: “I will bless you with a future filled with hope—a future of success, not of suffering.” Philippians 4:6-9 - CEV: “Don't worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel. (KJV: “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”) Finally, my friends, keep your minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly, and proper. Don't ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile and worthy of praise. You know the teachings I gave you, and you know what you heard me say and saw me do. So follow my example. And God, who gives peace, will be with you.”  Also, please follow my blog www.ndapewoshaliwrites.com and my YouTube channel.

S02E02: The Joys of Motherhood | Overcoming Perinatal Depression | Celebrating Friendship
This episode is dedicated to every single mother who has experienced any part of what we’re discussing. We want to take this moment to acknowledge you, honour you and remind you that you are amazing! You are doing AMAZING sweetie!  This channel is very intentional and every few episodes I have a conversation with someone whose opinions I value and respect.  With that said, Yatva [IG: miss.yatva, Blog https://linktr.ee/yatva] has been kind enough to have this conversation with me and share her experience in the hope that this video can help someone(s) going through it right now. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, “ Perinatal depression is a mood disorder that can affect women during pregnancy and after childbirth. The word “perinatal” refers to the time before and after the birth of a child. Perinatal depression includes depression that begins during pregnancy (called prenatal depression) and depression that begins after the baby is born (called postpartum depression). Mothers with perinatal depression experience feelings of extreme sadness, anxiety, and fatigue that may make it difficult for them to carry out daily tasks, including caring for themselves or others.” #TW: Also, please note the following trigger warnings: This video will include conversations about #MentalWellness, #MentalHealth and in particular, #Depression.  Also, please follow my blog www.ndapewoshaliwrites.com and my podcast, Let's Talk, with Ndapewoshali.

This is a conversation with my brother, Nangolo Ashipala where we talk about the lessons, we’ve learned about managing our personal finances, what works for us, and what, from our experiences, we would pass on to the next person. Follow Nangolo on Instagram @nangolo_ash  Book recommendation: Become Your Own Financial Advisor by Warren Ingram. I strongly recommend that everyone read this book. I have shared it with my brother and a few other people who shared it with other people etc. and everyone who has read it, says their life and thinking about finances, have been transformed. It’s a short, easy read and it’s written from a Southern African (South Africa) viewpoint so, it is particularly relatable to Namibians but wherever you find yourself in the world, it will be useful.   https://books.google.com.na/books/about/Become_Your_Own_Financial_Advisor.html?id=qAxbDwAAQBAJ&printsec=frontcover&source=kp_read_button&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q&f=false  I hope you find this informative and useful. S01E02 – Where to Get Help | Discussing Mental Health in Namibia | Taboo?
According to the Ministry of Health, in 2018, Namibia had the 4th highest suicide rate in Africa and the 11th highest in the world. I am an individual who lives in a society where the discussion about mental health is taboo (or at the very best, uncomfortable/awkward), suicide is rife, and emotional and physical violence are the order of the day. I think our community is struggling but I, wholeheartedly, want to change that.  In this episode, I discuss Mental Health in Namibia and where one can get help when they need it. You can find a list of the contact details for mental health professionals based on whether their free, subsidized or you’ll need to either pay cash or have medical aid, here https://ndapewoshaliwrites.com/2020/02/07/where-to-get-help/   I hope you find this video useful.
