BUSINESS COACHING: Listen to Phil Airson who is a business coach talking about why he chooses to work with women

BUSINESS COACHING: Listen to Phil Airson who is a business coach talking about why he chooses to work with women

Are you a passionate individual who feels stuck in a rut?

Do you find yourself repeating the same negative patterns with mindset, physical and mental health and self limiting beliefs?

Are you not fully showing up in your relationships?

Four years ago….. Phil was the KING of this! Always there in body but never truly showing up as himself.

He sat in his tailored suit, in his private office, looking at a picture of his ideal family. When he would breathe it felt HEAVY. It was a far shot from stacking shelves at midnight in the supermarket, serving nachos at the cinema, performing stand up comedy and being a travelling musician...even the circus! He had done it all!

He had worked 16 years for all of this. His parents always said “Work is something you do, it's not supposed to be something you enjoy you just do it” he took that to heart not just in work but LIFE had now become something he just did.

He had worked 16 years in high finance, travelled the world but he always felt lost and disconnected from his life. He didn't belong, he was out of place in HIS LIFE! Something felt wrong and one day he decided he WAS WORTH MORE. He was going to not just make a change but a TRANSFORMATION! He ditched the job he had wanted to ditch in the first week of his 16 years and he chose to do work he enjoy…..work on HIMSELF.

This is what he discovered on his journey:

1- How to show up POWERFULLY as his authentic self - Building bullet proof confidence and sense of self.
2- Being PRESENT everyday - Switching on that light behind the eyes that was off too long, clearing any fog and learning to LOVE and LIVE each day to the fullest.
3- Make CONCRETE life decisions - Making them from a place of self certainty. Building a crystal clear vision of my future.
4- BAD HABITS - Weeding out what is the cause of the habits and self limiting beliefs keeping him stuck, replacing them with habits that serve him and come naturally now.
5- MOTIVATIONAL ROCKET FUEL - Creating perpetual momentum and becoming unstoppable. Removing any blocks to your success.

Phil wants you to know all this because he wants you to know HE HAS GOT YOU. He knows what it’s like and most importantly he knows how to change it.

If this resonates with you, let’s see if Phil and you can work together to create a better life for a better you. It is time you finally committed to your own transformation.

TALKING CREDIT: Dan Hancocks from CoCredo and I talking about credit

TALKING CREDIT: Dan Hancocks from CoCredo and I talking about credit

Thank you to Dan Hancocks, Managing Director of CoCredo, for joining me on the Lets Talk Small Business podcast as we talked about the current business world, CoCredo and what the future looks like.

Dan is a driven, honest, fun, hard-working and focused professional with over 20 years’ experience in the Business Information Industry. As Managing Director and Owner of CoCredo, he is honoured to work with such a great team of people and lucky enough to do a job that he really enjoys doing. Since joining in 2003 and completing the MBO of Wyse Assist to CoCredo in 2009, CoCredo have moved offices twice due to growth, doubled their workforce, invested heavily in IT, Marketing and Customer Support, and streamlined Finance. In May 2015 Dan completed a further MBO becoming the sole owner of CoCredo and since then the company has had 4 years of rapid growth with 2018 being the best yet.... This is also highlighted in CoCredo's 99.4% customer retention rate and the way they have adapted as a business in recent years, with a clear strategic plan going forward.

Some of the proudest moments in Dan's working life have been most recently with CoCredo winning 'Credit Information Provider of the Year’ and 'Employer of the Year' at the CICM British Credit Awards 2019. The judges commented that the company was 'Head and shoulders above the competition. A business that truly listens to what its clients want. Innovation at its best'. In 2018, Dan was over-whelmed to be awarded with 'Business Leader of the Year' at the Bucks Business Awards and 'Technology Innovator Person the Year' at the Credit & Collections Awards. These awards are recognition for many years hard work by all the team, the great ethos the company has as a business to always go that extra inch and treat customers how they would want to be treated themselves, and the passion the company has to succeed on a daily basis.

Dan is a keen fundraiser and supporter of the Oxford Children’s Hospital (OCH) and help organise the OCH Charity Golf Day in June each year, raising over £175k in the last 8 years. This is very close to his heart after they helped save his sons' life in 2010.

It was a pleasure talking to Dan about his business and what they offer the small business world.

NETWORKING: Talking with Glenys Chatterley from Effective Business Networking about Business Networking!

It was a pleasure to talk to Glenys Chatterley who is based in Chelmsford, Essex about her Effective Business Network and how her experience and people skills help small businesses learn, grow and develop.

Glenys is a networking pro and has many useful blog articles on her website to help business owners understand more about networking.

This is what Glenys has written on her Linked In profile:

If you’re in business and want to be part of a business focussed, supportive network then ebn is for you, ebn offers a opportunity to establish a strong network of people who know and trust you and are advocates for your business.By working together and sharing business knowledge everyone benefits and their businesses grow.

ebn currently has 17 breakfast groups in Essex and others in Herts and Suffolk, and it is growing fast. The focus of meetings is helping the members To make all the right connections to grow their businesses.

Effective Business Network started in 2005 as Essex Business Network and as a group director and avid networker it made sense to take it over in 2012, when the opportunity came up. Since then we’ve added 9 new groups and the membership is growing every week. On 2/5/14 we rebranded as Effective Business Network and are now looking to go over the boundaries of Essex. With a system that works we want to help as many businesses as possible...perhaps you might be interested in coming along or setting up a Group?

Join us for breakfast one morning and find out more—find your nearest meeting on our website http://www.ebn.uk.com.

VOICE OVER ARTIST: Liz Drury and I talking about the benefits of using a voice over artist

Today I spoke with Liz Drury who is a Voice Over Artist based in North Lincolnshire.

Liz has worked with businesses around the world, both large and small, and regardless of whether you run a multinational company or you’re a one-man-band, her promise to you is the same: she will provide a PROFESSIONAL, friendly service and will deliver QUALITY recordings in the format of your choice FAST.

Liz can do this because she works from a professionally equipped home studio, which consists of a gold series Vocal Booth and Neumann TLM103 microphone, and though Liz is based in rural North Lincolnshire (lovely and quiet for audio recording!), the power of the internet means your files can be sent to you in minutes, wherever you are.

Liz takes care of her clients. They tell her that she's a pleasure to work with and they appreciate my attention to detail and reliable service.

Liz LOVES what she does, and she's good at it too, but it isn’t just Liz who says so as she's been shortlisted for One Voice Awards two years running. she's not just serious about voiceover – she's serious about business too. Liz was one of 2017’s Top 100 Small Businesses in the UK, and a runner up in the North Lincolnshire Business Awards 2017, the Lincolnshire Business Awards 2019, the Lincolnshire Tech Awards 2019, and the Rural Business Awards 2019.

So,
• If you know your brand could sound better
• If you’re unhappy with how your corporate or explainer videos sound
• If your training materials don’t come across the way you’d like
• If you’re irritated by the tone of your voicemail prompts and on-hold sales messages….

HEALTH & SAFETY: Talking to James MacPherson from the Rebranding Safety Podcast

HEALTH & SAFETY: Talking to James MacPherson from the Rebranding Safety Podcast

Today I spoke to James MacPherson from Rebranding Safety about his thoughts on health and safety and his podcast and You Tube channels.

Meet James:

James is a regular Health and Safety professional, but with one very strange hobby. In his spare time, he hosts a health, safety and wellbeing podcast and YouTube channel called Rebranding Safety. Born out of frustration of over complicated systems and safety ‘gone mad’ practices and perceptions, James took it upon himself to publish his opinions and conversations for you all to listen to. The podcast has grown fast within the first year, providing in-depth discussions with many people of influence within the industry, including Jason Anker, Louise Taggart, Rachel Butler and Andrew Sharman, alongside his solo episodes where he thinks aloud for your listening pleasure. James’s authentic style alone challenges the stereotype, with his self-deprecating humour and passionate shouting into the microphone (not to mention the swearing) resulting in him being described as a “hip young gun slinger of health and safety” and “professionally unprofessional” Rebranding Safety has also been pegged as “a down the pub style podcast”, so rip off your hi-vis, snap the clip boards in half and check out Rebranding Safety.

This is Emma's profile on her Linked In account.

I am passionate about all things PR and writing. I love meeting with new clients and finding out about their business, products, services and industry and helping them to tell their story.

I have 15 years of PR and copywriting experience, working for advertising and PR agencies and in in-house PR departments at a number of companies. I have also edited various business to business magazines and managed the social media accounts of several firms.

Ballyhoo PR was established in May 2016 and has really taken off! I am flexible and able to create bespoke PR plans for SMEs who are on a budget but have a desire for regular, good quality PR activity and can also provide traditional retainers for larger companies or those that can't commit to employing a full-time PR or marcomms member of staff.

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING: Talking with Jude Price about Mental Health

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING: Talking with Jude Price about Mental Health

Talking Mental Health First Aid Training with Jude Price from Cognizant Mental Health Training in Hampshire.

Jude's profile on her Linked In page says:

There is no health without mental health. From learning to deal with stress, to understanding more complex mental health issues Cognizant courses can help you make a difference to mental health at work.

A business that embraces mental health and plays a positive role in helping your team to be their best selves will be rewarded with a workplace that is more engaged, translating to higher productivity.

Having worked in the mental health sector and experienced my own past mental health issues, it’s fair to say I’m well versed in the subject. Those past issues caused all sorts of problems with my professional life. A very steep, emotionally draining, time consuming learning curve, but I am now all the stronger for it.

Now as a qualified Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) trainer my passion for normalising conversations about mental health at work is highlighted in the delivery of the MHFA courses -  yes, it’s ok to have that conversation however awkward or uncomfortable!

The more we talk about it the more we realise we are are not alone with our mental health issues, that many others have been there too. So now knowing its OK to talk about mental health the next steps are:

* Be more aware of your own mental health
* Help someone else who may be struggling with mental health issues
* Build a Resilient and Mentally Strong Workforce

To discover how to ’raise awareness’, 'stop stigma' and how you can ‘make a difference to mental health at work’, please contact me, or book on a course today.
