Episode 22: Do Prophets Still Exist?
In today's episode, we take a look at the question: "Do prophets still exist?". In today's world, there have been a lot of claims by a lot of people, both male and female, that God has spoken to them about things that are yet to come. How do we approach this situation? Some people grew up with the mentality that God doesn't use prophets anymore; others claim to have experienced the prophetic. Is there any truth to that statement? To answer this question we turn our attention to Deuteronomy 18:21-22, the Old Testament passage that tells us how to determine a true prophet. While keeping in mind that Joel tells us:  "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit."  JOEL 2:28-29 (ESV)    Let's talk...

Have you ever seen anyone do miracles like this man? If they're trying to kill Him, why is He speaking openly and no one is saying anything to Him? Isn't this Joseph and Mary's son? These are just some of the questions we discuss in this episode. When the Pharisees caught wind of what was going on, they tried to have Him arrested. But it wasn't His time yet...

In this episode, we take a look at John 7:14-24 as we continue our journey through the book of John. The topic of discussion is the different responses Jesus was receiving as He continued to be about His Father's business. Some people were calling Him "crazy", others were willingly rejecting Him, and some weren't really sure what to think of Him. Yet Jesus continued to teach the words His Father had given Him to say. In this way, He was much like the prophets of old; He wasn't speaking the words of a rabbi, He claimed the word He spoke came directly from God...

Episode 19: Where Do You Stand?
In this episode, we take a look at John 7:1-13 as we continue our journey through the book of John. The topic of discussion is: when it comes to Jesus, where do you stand? In this episode, we take a look at John 5:1-18 as we continue our journey through the book of John. The topic of discussion is the man at the pool of Bethesda. He had an issue. The assumption a lot of times by reading the text is that it was some sort of paralysis because he was never able to make it to the water on time. The text says that an angel would come and stir the waters, and the first person into the water when it was stirred would be healed. Real or legend? John puts it best when he says, "He must increase, and I must decrease." In order to fulfill our purpose in life, we've got to understand our place...
