Vent & Validate: Q&A Session

As the 3 Chaotic Queers mini-series wraps up, the hosts hope to leave the listeners with some resources and wisdom to help them on their continual journeys of growth. Tune in for their final episode as Rabia, Sydney & Nicole answer some of your deepest questions. Topics will range from flirting to racial identity (and more)!

The hosts want to give a big ‘thank you’ to all of the queer youth who participated in making this episode by sending in so many important questions over the past few weeks via the podcast’s anonymous Vent & Validate form.

*CWs*

This episode features in-depth discussions about Eurocentric beauty standards (which perpetuate colourism & racism, fatphobia, ableism/healthism & saneism, etc.), as well as internalized prejudices, negative self-imagery, and self-harming. This podcast will also feature conversations about consent, academic pressures, barriers to accommodation, disordered eating, suicidal ideations, and specific harm reduction strategies.

The hosts will also make brief references to sex work, crisis ‘interventions’, and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). This material is presented in a manner that is explicitly pro-choice; emphasizing the need for trauma-informed and harm reduction focused approaches to providing care.

Collective Resistance Initiatives with Destiny Pitters | 3 Chaotic Queers

Ready for round three? Buckle in, queer kin and chaos lovers, because this one is gonna be riveting!

On this episode of the 3 Chaotic Queers, the hosts are joined by Destiny Pitters (she/her) to discuss grassroots responses to the ongoing violence experienced by marginalized communities - violence which is rooted within Ontario’s carceral and institutionalized care systems.

Follow along as these modern-day queer musketeers explore ways to create safe(r) communities - that are free (or at least protected) from such systematic brutalities. Discover why Rabia, Nicole, Sydney, and Destiny believe that prioritizing community-led harm reduction and safety programming is needed to #BuildBetter futures for Ontario’s 2STLGBQIA+ youth.

HEADS UP! The next episode, the “Vent & Validate: Q&A Session”, will be the fourth and final episode of the season. While the anonymous submission form is now closed, you can still take part in the fun by tuning in (on April 15th) for the 3 Chaotic Queers’ last soiree!

This material is presented in a manner that is explicitly pro-choice; emphasizing the need for trauma-informed and harm reduction focused approaches to providing care.

Introducing: Nourishing Our Roots

Introducing: Nourishing Our Roots

What does it mean to have a wellness practice? How do you know what is the right practice that connects with your inner self? And how do these efforts connect to decolonization and affirmation for the 2SLGBTQ+ community? These questions represent only a few that Nourishing Our Roots sets out to answer. Nourishing Our Roots is a podcast that explores wellness practices in an effort to promote healing for racialized and Indigenous 2SLGBTQ+ folks. With a holistic approach, hosts Grace and Ashiana speak with guests about four pillars of wellness through a decolonial lens. This season features discussion and activities around themes of spirituality, art, embodied practices, and sexual health.

As part of the Provincial Youth Ambassador Program, this project is a response to YouthLine’s Do Better report, featuring 7 recommendations by 2SLGBTQ+ youth in Ontario for more inclusive and effective ways to service their community. Nourishing Our Roots is grounded by the belief that 2SQTBIPOC deserve wellness services and tools that are anchored in decolonization, cultural relevance and gender and sexual affirmation.
