Felipe looks at more under-the-radar players deep into the fantasy baseball waiver wire as he once again looks at players who are owned in less than 50% of CBS Sports Fantasy Baseball leagues.

We discussed two hitters, two starting pitchers, and two relievers.

1. Hitter #1 was a former, can't-miss-prospect who is carving out his own niche as a veteran player
2. Hitter #2 is a flashy defensive rookie with a promising hit tool.
3. Starting Pitcher #1 is a young, former first-round pick who has a fairly easy schedule coming up
4. Starting Pitcher #2 is trying to make a case that he's more than just a relief pitcher, but only has an arsenal of two pitches
5. Reliever #1 is getting all the save opportunities for an up-and-coming young team.
6. Reliever #2 is racking up the holds and should probably be picked up immediately in holds leagues.

In this episode of the Total Bases Podcast, Felipe is joined by Jacob to talk about players that are owned in less than 50% of CBS Sports fantasy baseball leagues as they try to figure out what is real and what is fake in this very young 2024 baseball season.

They also discuss why sometimes you have to think outside the box in fantasy baseball, why it's so hard to find starting pitching, and how relief pitchers are alike like NBA basketball players.

James and Felipe recapped the 23rd annual Mardi Gras Madness Fantasy Baseball Draft. The Mardi Gras Fantasy Baseball League is a weekly, head-to-head, points league. Who had the best picks? Who had the worst? Which player was drafted too early? Who was drafted late? Tune in and find out!

Felipe is joined by Angel, Austin, Rahil, and Noah as they react live to the draft selections of the Total Bases Podcast Fantasy Baseball League draft.

This is a weekly, head-to-head, 12x12 Categories' league. The draft started out as predictable as can be, but things got interesting as the draft wore on and there were plenty of surprises along the way, such as Gabriel Moreno going as the 4th catcher in the 9th round and a trio of Jacksons: Holliday, Chourio, and Merrill going in the 8th, 10th, and 11th round respectively.

Angel and Felipe discuss the first half of the Baseball Life Fantasy Baseball Draft. It is a slow draft, head-to-head, semi-weekly 12x12 categories league.

Aside from drafting players that can help you win in the upcoming 2024 season, the league is a keeper league where three players will be kept for the 2025 season and qualifying minor league players can be protected in separate minor league slots rom season to season.

Steve and Felipe and attempt to guess which players will be kept (teams keep 5 players) by all 12 teams of the Mardi Gras Madness Fantasy Baseball League. They also envisioned which players would have been kept if there were a 6th player involved in their keeper selection.

The guys also discussed some sleepers in upcoming fantasy baseball drafts and strategy used in head-to-heads points' leagues.

Harry and Felipe discuss Ariel Cohen's ATC Projections and discuss the ins and outs, as well as the pros and cons of using projections for fantasy baseball purposes.

The guys then rundown some sleeper pitchers and hitters like Bobby Miller, Joe Ryan, Bailey Ober, Oneil Cruz, Cole Ragans, Michael King, Thairo Estrada, and Christopher Sanchez.

In this episode of the podcast, Felipe brings in guest Corey as he shares his experience attending the Savannah Bananas' game and the hijinks he watched unfold in their brand of baseball.

The guys then transitioned to talk about the Total Bases Podcast Fantasy Baseball League and discussed Corey's strategy to fantasy baseball.

Finally, the show ends with a look at the Arizona Diamondbacks' 2024 team roster as Corey, the Arizona native, shares his excitement about the team's upcoming campaign and possible minor league players that will be able to help the club this year.

In this episode of the Total Bases Podcast, Felipe is joined by Baltimore Orioles' fan, Alex R. They spent most of this episode talking about the Orioles' roster and some of the more notable minor league prospects.

They also discussed the value of advanced statistics in baseball and marvel about the intricacies of Wins Above Replacement (WAR) and how many pages are dedicated to the stat on Fangraphs' website.

Talking about ballpark and league factors transitioned into a conversation about Nolan Ryan and why he's the most underrated and most overrated starting pitcher of all time.

Felipe is joined by Harry of the Wrestling Purest Podcast as he returns to Fantasy Baseball after a 20-year absence.

Aside from showing Harry the ropes and wax nostalgically about Kerry Wood and Mark Prior, the guys also talked about the New York Yankees' roster and discuss some of the good things and bad things with the ballclub.

They also talked about the catching position coming into the 2024 baseball season and why selecting a catcher is much like picking a tight end in fantasy football (Adley Rutschman is the Travis Kelce of baseball!).

The show ends with Felipe sharing some of his favorite "sleeper" players at starting pitcher.

Felipe is joined by Vince (of the Dong City podcast, due to make their triumphant return on March 27, 2023) in this episode of the Total Bases Podcast to share their experiences at the 2023 World Baseball Classic.  

Vince shared his thoughts on the Miami, Florida experience while Felipe discusses what he witnessed in Phoenix, Arizona.   They shared their thoughts on what they liked and disliked about attending these games and also how to make the tournament better and where they see the WBC going in the future.   

Finally, the guys urge people to go out and attend these matchups and give reasons as to why it is worth being at these games in person as both of them agreed that it was an enjoyable and memorable event.
