Ep. 44: Letting Go of the One That Got Away

Ep. 44: Letting Go of the One That Got Away

It’s strange because people often think I have it all together. The reality is that I struggle a lot, especially when it comes to men and love. This is normal, and we are all trying to figure it out. We have so many “Why’s” we want the answer to. The whole pandemic in the Philippines I had my own “whys” to figure out. I was seeking for answers as to why the man I loved did some things to me. Why did this happen? Why did we end up going separate ways, even even if we were so involved in each others lives and everything seemed like it was perfect. I guess life will be always unpredictable - there are lessons to learn to make sure we don’t keep on repeating the mistakes and the patterns, and so that we grow into the person we need to be. Last year was very hard for me, I had to let go of many things including the man I truly loved, but that also led me to where I am today. It’s quite ironic that I am now here just two streets away from him but I can’t see him, as if he was just some stranger. Back when I wanted so badly to be exactly here, there were things that wouldn’t allow me to be. But I guess that is just life, and life has its own ways of teaching us important lessons.

Ep. 43: Navigating Life in Your 30s with Cara Eriguel

Ep. 43: Navigating Life in Your 30s with Cara Eriguel

I turned 30 this 2021. And I swear, it was a roller coaster of emotions, my life was turned upside down, and I was definitely pushed to the limit as a person and a businesswoman. As if this pandemic wasn’t enough of a challenge, the universe kept throwing more at me to test how strong I am and to see what will make me give up. But you know what? I don’t ever give up. Amidst the pandemic and everything else in between —  I managed to get up, pick myself up again, and I moved my life to Madrid to take my Masters at the IE Business School. I didn’t even hesitate to start over in my 30's. My life in my 20's was amazing, I should say even beyond amazing. But where I am right now, I worked extremely hard to get here. See that’s the thing, everything in life is interconnected, what we do in our 20's will reflect in our 30's, what we do in our 30's will give us a glimpse of what to look forward to in our 40's, and the cycle goes on. As I always say, it’s now or never. What we do now matters, so just take that first step and take control over your own life.

Life has progressed so much since I started my podcast journey last February. As promised, every chapter and lesson will be shared with my community here. Change is the only permanent thing in this life and things get easier when we learn to accept that and let go of our expectations, controlling things that no longer serve us is the main cause of unhappiness for me. I hope my top 5 life lessons will help you get through whatever you are going through right now. Remember, there’s always hope.

Ep. 31: How to Use Criticism for Self-Improvement with Jessy Mendiola

Ep. 31: How to Use Criticism for Self-Improvement with Jessy Mendiola

We’re often very affected by the comments of others around us, we like seeking validation for what we wear, how we look like, and why we feel certain feelings. There’s no end line here, the only thing we can do as imperfect human beings is that we accept that we cannot be perfect and will never be capable of everything, this is why we progress with self-love to keep going no matter how hard life gets. Learn to believe in yourself, love every part of you through every stage of life, and trust the process that you’re always doing great and be grateful for the wonderful life given to us even sometimes we all just want to give up. The people around you will never adjust to you, it's your responsibility to protect your peace and well-being. No one will save you but YOU.

Ep. 28: The Beauty of Unpredictable Life with Joyce Pring

Life is beautiful, painful, mysterious, dangerous and everything you can imagine all compressed in one journey. We normally have timelines in our heads and how we should end up but life has strange ways of showing us what we deserve in the end. I believe that people with pure hearts always win in the end. Believing in ourselves and not losing touch with what matters the most help us live a happy and successful life from within when we just let go and surf the waves of life naturally.

Ep. 27: How I Recharge While Managing Everything Remotely

Ep. 27: How I Recharge While Managing Everything Remotely

Before the pandemic, people always ask me how I managed to run my business while traveling the world. I was almost never in the Philippines physically while building my 10-year-old company. In this episode, I have shared some tips on working remotely, using the right multivitamins and supplements, and why we need to accept the fact that we will fail and at some point, we’re all capable of becoming toxic but still learning at the end.

Ep. 26: Challenging Myself: I'm Moving to Spain

Ep. 26: Challenging Myself: I'm Moving to Spain

Life has been hard for all of us. I’ve been planning this move for 6 years now and I wasn’t ready for higher education before because of other priorities that took over. This time, I am ready to get out of my comfort zone and explore everything else that I have yet to discover. The world is too big to force ourselves to love things that we’ve already outgrown. The beauty of life is that we’re always given the chance to restart and come back stronger than ever. We just need to be brave, shut down the external voices of the society telling us and just focus on what we think will make us happy and satisfied. I don’t know if this will be a permanent move but I am ready, life is too short to postpone all the time so I am giving it my all for my new home in Spain!!! Relationships, staying in love, and growing together are hard work. Not to mention working on yourself at the same time. But despite all of this, we have chosen to commit because nothing will be meant for you if we don’t make the right decisions. In this week's episode, I've invited Bela to talk more about growing in her career while her partner is also busy navigating his way in this thing called life.

Ep. 22: How My Dad’s Death Connected Me To My Purpose and Higher Self

Losing my dad at an early age inspired me to do greater things in life. One of which is traveling the world, building a strong business, choosing myself and having the freedom to do anything I want. My mom did a good job on raising me and I want to dedicate this episode to my parents because without them, I wouldn't be the woman that I am today.

Ep. 21: You Are What You Put In Your Mouth with Kay Sy

Ep. 21: You Are What You Put In Your Mouth with Kay Sy

Often times, we don’t realize what we eat affects how we are from the outside. In this busy world, we tend to choose the easier path because we are getting used to everything instant but long-term success in any form comes from the small difficult decisions we make every single day. For instance, how much and which sugar we will use for our coffee, to walk or take the car and so on. These simple choices lead to a greater life and a happier version of yourself if we just open our hearts and minds to more mindful and conscious decisions. Reduce your sugar intake, walk every day, sleep early, everything will make sense in the long run.

Ep. 18: Morena and Glowing From Within with Ayn Bernos

Morena? What’s wrong with it? NOTHING. Our mindset becomes toxic thinking that only white is beautiful. If someone doesn’t fall under that color, that person is not enough. I once felt unloved because of my skin but that also taught me to be confident because I was different from everybody else. I used that one thing to boost my confidence to the maximum level. So I invited Ayn Bernos to help me elaborate this topic on colourism.

Ep. 16: What Really is Mental Health with Cat Triviño

Somewhere along the way, I'm sure we've already learned how to navigate through these unpredictable times. But that doesn't mean we won't have days that feel like we're back to zero. For this episode, I've invited Cat Triviño to talk about her experience and the importance of mental health. There are days that we can be too hard on ourselves and I’ve learned that there is power in admitting that you're not absorbing anything at all. That's where maturity and real strength starts, when you decide to stop and rest.

Ep. 15: Patient 343: Surviving Covid 19 Infection and Trauma with Jumed Nicolas

Covid 19 patient 343 Jumed Nicolas tells us the other side of experiencing the virus. Jumed has been my friend since college and this totally shocked me as well. I can't imagine how it feels like when death is literally in front of you. Sometimes we don't get second chances in life, and while we can do and say everything to our loved ones, let's all make it a habit to practice living in the present time. Ep. 14: On Not Choosing Between Career and Family with Bianca Gonzalez

Often times, women must choose between having a career or family. In this episode, I’ve invited Bianca Gonzalez, the person who I look up to when it comes to balancing both. Yes, we all have different circumstances in life but we can always choose for ourselves and not having to sacrifice one important factor over the other. I believe in perfect timing for everything so hold on tight, things get better.

Ep. 12: Turning Uncontrollable Events Into Profit with Lea Yosalina

I invited my pilot friend to discuss the situation of unemployment and how we can turn it into something better. The world as our workplace was completely shut down because of the travel restrictions and this forced us to work inside the four walls of our homes. With this, we managed to survive the pandemic and it led to the creation of meaningful brands. We can be victims but we also have the option to stand up and work with that is in front of us since we have nobody but ourselves. Together, the travel industry will rise. Not instantly, but slowly and surely.

Ep. 11: The Reality and Risks Of Entrepreneurship with Rizza Sebastian

Being an entrepreneur isn’t always rainbows and butterflies. There are those who say they will pursue it, but not all follow through. Just like being an artist, doctor, or teacher, being an entrepreneur takes a lot of hard work and dedication in order to get to where you want to be. The journey of an entrepreneur goes beyond sticking to your decisions. There will be days when people will leave you doubting yourself, so you have to go back to your roots. Remember why you pursued your passion in the first place. It’s about inspiring yourself to find solutions in order to inspire those around you. I invited fellow entrepreneur Rizza to talk about her journey as well, amongst other things. To discuss how much like her, her businesses are also growing and ever evolving.

Ep. 10: To Not Following Society’s Love Standards with Pauleen Luna

Why are we so pressured with falling in love? Why do we let other people define who we need to be with? Would you prefer to focus on yourself first while life is working on it’s own for you? Or would you rather rush and settle with the person who won't even do you good? Waiting is NOT easy but it will definitely shape your future and your perspective in life. Don’t rush at all cost. Great things take A LOT of time, patience and effort but it will be so worth it in the end.

Ep. 8: Self-love is NOT Selfish with Aurora Suarez

This is one of the topics we usually misunderstand. I’ve seen people who use self indulgence as an excuse to cover their feelings and let things pass by without targeting the root of unhappiness and pain. Self-love is not just about going to a fancy spa or going on a shopping spree but it's actually being friends with yourself, like how we are to other people. It’s also a hard task of correcting yourself when you do something wrong. Take it easy and re-learn how to love and be friends with yourself again.

Ep. 7: Behind The Scenes of Success with Ayen dela Torre

Success is often connected with being rich or famous. A superficial idea that is now instilled in a lot of us that makes us unhappy because we think that we always have to aim for more. Because of that, I decided to invite someone who has the same mindset as me when it comes to defining success. Ep. 6: The Power Of Starting Young with Callie Ahmee

I started my entrepreneurial life at the age of 14 and started my official business; Access Travel at the age of 19. Doing this so early has opened a whole new world for me. I’m the woman I am today because of the decisions I made in my younger years. It's never going be easy but if you choose to have discipline and ignore how other people are running their lives, you will be ahead of everyone. I invited Callie to talk about why starting a business at an early age changes you and your mindset about the world. I find her so amazing that being the daughter of someone well known didn’t stop her from doing her own thing.

Ep. 5: Why You Should Never Look for Love with Myrza Sison

Ep. 5: Why You Should Never Look for Love with Myrza Sison

In my 20s I was a victim of trying to look for love because I thought it would complete me since everyone around me was getting engaged, married, and having kids. Meanwhile I was taking a completely different route from traveling 7 continents, building my Access Travel business, trying to apply for masters in Madrid, and doing experiments to know more about what else I was capable of doing. It took a long time to stop doing this, and, peer pressure and what the society says sometimes messes with our minds. When I met Myrza a few years ago, it changed because she showed me that there’s nothing wrong with what I was doing, I was different but it didn’t mean I was incomplete. I was continuously building myself so when I finally meet the person I am willing to compromise with, it won’t be difficult because I already know what I want in life, both a partner and career. Ep. 4: Facing Body Shaming and Bashers with Nina Dizon-Cabrera

I wanted to bring in someone who manages way more things than me. I think being a Mom and balancing it with being a CEO of a company is a story we all need to hear. I also chose Nina to speak about body shaming and how to fully embrace yourself after going through many stages in life. I didn’t feel confident talking about this as a single woman who doesn’t have kids yet and my only priority for now is myself. This topic is to all the women trying to balance everything all together. You got this!

Ep. 3: Getting Out and Having Clarity with Julia Barretto

Travel has been part of us that was taken away during this pandemic, so I decided to bring in someone who went out of her comfort zone to go somewhere where she wasn’t known, just to think and have a different look at life which was totally different from her life in the Philippines. This helped her realize how big the world is but yet we stay in a such a small place because of our fears that we don’t want to conquer. This one trip changed her life to make better decisions and keep moving forward.

Ep. 2: My Pivot: From 7 Continents To Street Food and Health

Ep. 2: My Pivot: From 7 Continents To Street Food and Health

2020 was supposed to be the greatest year of my life, I met the love of my life, my company Access Travel is 10 and I had the best employees I could ask for. I thought I had it all figured out but no, it was meant to be all taken away from me when I was almost there at my dream destination of my career that I built with my heart and soul my whole life. But this tragedy also showed me what I am capable of doing when I am in the middle of the greater chaos of my life, last year I lost it all. Name it, my life, company, employees, dreams I had since I started Access travel, the love of my life that I waited so long to meet, and everything you could think of. I lost my identity, it was the hardest year of my life but out of that I created my podcast, and several other businesses that are giving me a purpose now. This is why I called this podcast Life in Progress to always remind me of who I am and to never stopping from growing.

Ep. 1: The Person I Will Be With Forever: Myself

Ep. 1: The Person I Will Be With Forever: Myself

I want to start this podcast by telling you a brief background of who I am and how I reached this point. We all have different backgrounds, childhood traumas, experiences, fears, strengths and weakness. I knew from the beginning that I never wanted to take the path people told me to take because I only listened to myself and did what I wanted to do. My Father passing away early gave me a one of a kind motivation to be the best version of myself, so when I see him someday he won’t regret leaving me alone without a father. Today, I am here telling you stories from 7 continents of the world at the age of 30. There is so much light and goodness in the world if you are just open to see it.
