Diary of an EXvangelical

This episode not only explains my absence but also why Christian Nationalism is such a big problem. The Midterm elections showed a rise in candidates (mostly Republican) that held onto Christian Nationalism. I explore what is Christian nationalism and the problems it has generated for religion as a whole plus its connection to Evangelical Christianity. 

I did not want to do this installment but after the shooting in Udvale, Texas, I had to. I discuss my thoughts on Evangelicals supporting the GOP who are very much against abortion but okay with guns and why I think saying that the US is a Christian nation and politicians like Donald Trump are going to bring God back to the US is BS.

On this Shrove Tuesday/Fat Tuesday, I will look at what is Lent and Ash Wednesday and why don't Evangelicals celebrate it or celebrate it differently.

TRAILER! Season two is going to be about spiritual abuse and the Evangelical church. This is inspired by the Portland based Reimagining Recovery and a post they made on Facebook about church trauma.

Season 1 finale! If there's one thing that Evangelicals hate the most, it's Pokemon. In this installment, I not only say that this is a trend with Evangelicals hating something so popular but I also debunk a lot of myths and lies that Evangelicals tell you about Pokemon and finally confirm that once again, Evangelicals have it wrong: Pokemon is just a game!

This is my reasons why holiday pageants in Evangelicals churches are something that needs to be done away with. It's mostly because of the "talking down" mentality of them. 

In light of things involving criminal activity and the Duggars, I go on a rant about the Duggars! Why do Evangelicals like these people?!

A part of the holiday special episodes. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays are used interchangeably and it seems while Catholics don't like it too much, Evangelicals are the ones to freak out the most. This is one Catholic woman who spent four years as an Evangelical who WON'T complain if a sales clerk uses "Happy Holidays" and this is why. 

My rant on the Duggars and why I think saying they are wholesome whilst judging Sex and the City is wrong.

Let me tell you all a story about when I was in an Evangelical church and a woman bitched about Christmas parade floats because she hated the pop culture elements in them. I realized this is a common thing with Evangelicals and here is what I was able to find out on why. 

This is where I explain why popular Evangelical forms of worship music and radio are problematic...or at least attempt to. 

I recorded this one after seeing a thing on Twitter about how this year is the 13th anniversary of the first Twilight film. In this installment, I examine why Evangelicals are not fans of Harry Potter, Twilight, and pretty much secular cinema in general. PS. I actually like Robert Pattinson and my favorite movie he did was The Lighthouse.

In this installment, I will examine why the God's Not Dead franchise is the Evangelical version of propaganda using the arguments I learned in a theories of persuasion class in college and comparisons to WWII propaganda films.
