How To Have A Strong Marriage Despite Differences | Crazy Stupid Love Part 1

How To Have A Strong Marriage Despite Differences | Crazy Stupid Love Part 1

Have you ever wondered about how God wired men and women differently and what that means to live as husband and wife practically? Understanding the fundamental differences between men and women can profoundly impact the dynamics of marriage. Men's brains operate by compartmentalizing thoughts into neat boxes, while in women's brains, everything is interconnected by emotion.

Practically, this means husbands and wives must navigate communication and understanding with grace and patience. Husbands, recognizing their tendency to retreat when stressed, should actively engage in listening and empathizing with their wives, understanding their need to connect emotionally. Meanwhile, wives should understand that their husbands may need time alone to decompress.

When it comes to sex, spouses need to understand each other's needs and motivations. For men, sex serves as a way to express love and care for their wives, while for women, emotional connection often precedes physical intimacy. By acknowledging and respecting these differences, couples can cultivate a healthier and more fulfilling sexual relationship within the covenant of marriage.

Ultimately, living as husband and wife means embracing our unique wiring, understanding each other's strengths and weaknesses, and committing to love and serve one another sacrificially, just as Christ loves the Church. Marriage is not just a contract but a covenant, requiring continual effort, grace, and reliance on God's love to navigate the complexities of life together.

Watch Pastor Lucas’s message to hear how to have a strong marriage, despite men and women being wired differently.

What Is The Meaning Of Baptism?

What Is The Meaning Of Baptism?

Did you know that Jesus told his followers to get baptized? Baptism is an important step of faith for any Christian. It’s a public declaration of someone’s faith in Jesus. By getting baptized, you’re telling the world that you belong to Jesus and you are committed to following his teachings! That’s why we get baptized.

If you’ve witnessed Baptism by immersion, when someone goes under the water and gets raised back up out of the water, this reflects the cleansing of sin. Going under the water signifies leaving behind your old ways and your sin, while emerging from the water symbolizes that you are washed clean, starting a new life filled with the Holy Spirit.

Through baptism, individuals embrace forgiveness, hope, and purpose. They align themselves with Jesus' life, death, burial, and resurrection, embracing a renewed life  through His grace.

Watch Pastor Kayra Montañez’s message to hear the significance of baptism.

Why Did Jesus Rise From The Dead? | Easter 2024

Why Did Jesus Rise From The Dead? | Easter 2024

Easter is a pivotal moment in history. Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is fact, not fiction! Jesus faced wrongful arrest and crucifixion, and was put to death. But, 3 days later, Jesus rose from the dead. That means, Jesus emerged victorious! Why does this matter so much? Because Jesus’ resurrection demonstrates his divinity as the Son of God.

Because of Jesus' resurrection, a door opens to eternal life for all who believe in him. You receive the promise of heaven, which is a place where every Christ follower can anticipate a joyful reunion with loved ones. No matter what struggles you face today, be it addiction, divorce, or the loss of a loved one, you can rest assured that nothing can break the bond between you and God's love.

Watch Pastor Tim Lucas’s Easter message to hear the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Why We Invite People To Church | The Way Part 7

Why We Invite People To Church | The Way Part 7

Has your life been changed by Jesus? If so, then you need to tell people about it… about HIM! We invite people to church so that they can come and see what Jesus is all about. Maybe you’re thinking “that’s not my job.” You’re right – it’s your mission! Our mission given to us by Jesus is to go and seek out those who don’t know him yet. We are meant to be evangelists.

So, how do you actually accomplish your mission? Through relationships. Don’t overthink this. It doesn’t have to be weird. Invest in relationships with those around you - neighbors, coworkers, gym buddies and then find an opportunity to invite them to church.

Who is God calling you to pursue this season? Pray about it. Be a good friend and neighbor and when the moment is right, invite them to church. Your invitation could change their life.

Watch Pastor Cory Daniels’s message and learn the power of evangelism.

The Significance Of Being Baptized | The Way Part 6

The Significance Of Being Baptized | The Way Part 6

Do you know the significance of being baptized? Baptism stands as the pivotal rite marking the beginning of one's journey as a disciple of Christ. In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus commands His disciples to go forth and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. His command shows the importance of baptism—it symbolizes obedience, repentance, commitment, and spiritual renewal.

Jesus Himself set the precedent by being baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River, identifying with humanity's sinfulness and showcasing humility and solidarity with ordinary sinners. Baptism embodies obedience to Jesus' command, it’s a public declaration of faith, and a commitment to follow Him. It signifies repentance from past sins and a step toward a new life in Christ. Believers enter into a new life, transformed by God's grace.

Baptism serves as a tangible encounter with the Holy Spirit, often marked by a profound sense of God's presence. It is a sacred covenant—a visible sign of God's unending love and faithfulness and a celebration of God's redemptive work in the life of every believer, which is the beginning of a lifelong journey of discipleship and spiritual growth.

Watch Pastor Tim Lucas’s message and learn the importance of being baptized.

How To Serve Others With Humility | The Way Part 5

How To Serve Others With Humility | The Way Part 5

Have you heard of the incredible moment from the Bible when Jesus humbly washed His disciples' feet? Picture it: the Son of God down on his knees, washing away the dirt and grime from the feet of these grown men, even from the feet of Judas, who He knew would later betray Him. This is the picture of true humility… of servant leadership.

Now, wrapping our minds around this type of servant leadership that Jesus modeled isn't easy. He intentionally took on the role of a humble servant, kneeling down to care for the tired, dusty feet of His followers. Imagine the scene: dusty roads, weary fishermen, and there's Jesus, showing us that serving others isn't just a task—it's a way of life.

So, what does that really mean for us today? It means that serving others isn't a chore, but a joyous part of who we are as Christ followers. The Church isn't just for our personal benefit, it exists to serve the world. Our purpose is to love others and make a real difference. God has blessed you to bless others—to fulfill His will and finish the work He entrusted to you.

Are you ready to step into the humble shoes of Jesus and serve with all your heart? Embrace this calling with joy and passion, knowing that by following Jesus's example, you're not just making a difference—you're living out your true purpose in this world.

The True Meaning Of Generosity | The Way Part 4

The True Meaning Of Generosity | The Way Part 4

Do you have a heart of generosity? Generosity is a concept that goes beyond just giving money to others, but speaks to the core of our faith and relationship with God.

When we turn to the Bible, we learn that generosity isn’t about the amount you give, it’s the attitude and sacrifice behind your gift. In a story known as the “the widow’s mite,” we see Jesus observing people as they give their offerings at the temple. While many wealthy individuals made grand gestures, Jesus noticed a poor widow quietly offering just two small coins, which was all she had to live on.

Jesus emphasizes that true generosity stems from the heart, not from abundance, but from a willingness to trust God completely. So, what’s your attitude toward giving? Are you merely tipping God, or are you giving sacrificially, trusting in His provision?

The principle of tithing, giving the first 10% of our income back to God, isn't about legalistic rules but about demonstrating our faith and trust in God's abundance. By embracing a mindset of abundance and trust, we open ourselves up to God's blessings in ways we can't imagine. So, where are you on your journey to generosity? Are you ready to trust God with your first and best, knowing He will bless the rest?

Watch Pastor Tim Lucas’s message and learn what a generous heart looks like.

The Importance Of Taking A Sabbath | The Way Part 3

The Importance Of Taking A Sabbath | The Way Part 3

Did you know that taking a day of Sabbath, or rest, is one of God’s commands for our life? Even God took a day off. After creating the earth and everything on it in six days, the Bible tells us that He rested on the seventh day. If God took a day of rest, so can we!

A true, biblical Sabbath spans 24 hours and involves four essential elements: stopping, resting, delighting, and worshiping. When we stop, we do no work, paid or unpaid. Resting has three components - the physical where we sleep; the mental and emotional, where we calm down, relax and process our week, and the spiritual, where we rest in God’s love. Delight means that we partake in activities that bring joy to our lives. Finally, we WORSHIP! And, worship is not just music. Worship is also where we surrender to God, giving Him our whole heart. When we unite as a church community to offer our heartfelt songs of devotion to God, it profoundly impacts and molds us.

Culture tells us to work, work, work. God commands us to rest. So stop - designate a day each week. Rest - set clear boundaries. Delight - do things that bring joy and fulfillment. Finally, you worship. When we gather as a family to worship God, connecting with worship songs and in community, we're not just praising Jesus, we're also cheering each other on and lifting each other up.

Watch Pastor Tim Lucas’s message and learn what a proper Sabbath looks like and how taking one can bring you closer to God.

The Importance Of Prioritizing Prayer | The Way Part 2

The Importance Of Prioritizing Prayer | The Way Part 2

Are you feeling disconnected from God in the chaos of your daily life? Finding time for meaningful connection can feel like a daunting task. The good news is there's a simple yet powerful practice that can help anchor us: PRAYER. Prayer isn't just a religious obligation. It is the way to tap into something deeper within ourselves and connect with God. It's about finding moments of stillness and reflection in the midst of our busy lives.

Take a cue from the life of Jesus himself. Despite the demands and pressures he faced during his ministry, he consistently made time to seek solitude and communicate with his Father through prayer. His example serves as a reminder that even in the busiest seasons of life, prayer is essential for finding peace, guidance, and clarity.

So how do we make prayer a priority in our own lives? It starts with acknowledging and surrendering the distractions that pull us away from this practice. It's about intentionally creating space in our daily routines to quiet the noise and listen for that still, small voice within. By embracing this commitment to prayer, we open ourselves up to a deeper spiritual connection and a greater sense of purpose. It's through this practice of intentional prayer that we can experience true transformation and find ourselves more aligned with our values and beliefs.

Watch Pastor Kayra Montañez’s message and learn how to break free of the distractions and spend more time in prayer, which will strengthen your relationship with God.

How To Build Relationships WIth Other Christians | The Way Part 1

How To Build Relationships WIth Other Christians | The Way Part 1

Did you know that early followers of Jesus weren’t called Christians? They were simply called followers of “The Way.” Their commitment went beyond mere adherence to religious customs; it was a lifestyle deeply rooted in the teachings of Jesus. These followers placed an emphasis on having a vibrant, personal connection with God, and a deeper, more fulfilling existence characterized by joy, purpose, and meaningful relationships.

If you are a follower of Jesus today, you should know that to truly experience the promises of God, we must embody the practices of Jesus. Just as Jesus lived in community with his disciples, we too, are created for connection and mutual support! The church is a part of this. The church isn’t a building, but is best described as a community of brothers and sisters.

The truth is many of us long for deeper community and friendships. In the midst of our busy lives, packed with family commitments, career responsibilities, and everyday tasks, we want deeper fulfillment. One powerful way to address this longing is to actively participate in a community of believers, where the teachings of Jesus are not merely observed but lived out. We’re talking about ACTIVE engagement. That’s what leads to spiritual growth, mutual encouragement, and ultimately a more purposeful life.

So, let us challenge you to step out of isolation and join together with others. It will not only enrich your own life, but also play a vital role in spreading the message of Jesus, following the example set by his disciples. So, what’s your next step? You’re invited to engage with a small group at church and experience the profound impact of authentic community!

Watch Pastor Tim Lucas’s message and discover the importance of living in community with others who share your faith.

You Can Choose Kindness Over Revenge | The X Factor Part 4

You Can Choose Kindness Over Revenge | The X Factor Part 4

Do you have someone in your life that you constantly feel you are in battle with? It is easy to seek revenge when you feel attacked, but instead try this approach: seek refuge in God alone.

If we turn to the Bible, David faced the same challenges we face today. Picture this: David is on the run, being chased by King Saul, who's basically on a mission to make David's life miserable. David is literally dodging spears – he is under attack. But, instead of seeking revenge, David goes all in with kindness. He takes the high road, and as he’s hiding out, his cave becomes the stage for one of the most epic 'aha' moments in history.

David's time in the wilderness becomes this powerful analogy for our own struggles, showing us a different way to navigate the chaos in our own lives. Choosing kindness allows us to break the revenge cycle. David chooses sacrificial love, just like Jesus on the cross when He died for us. The cave where David hides becomes this metaphorical space where we wrestle with our mess and emerge transformed, thanks to grace. You too can be transformed!

Watch Pastor Tim Lucas’s message to delve into the depths of why David chose kindness instead of revenge and how we can do the same.

In Training For Reigning!| The X Factor Part 3

In Training For Reigning!| The X Factor Part 3

Did you know that as a Christ follower, you have been chosen and anointed by God? You might question why, even though you feel God's anointing, you may not immediately understand where He wants you to serve. There exists a gap between the anointing and the appointing.

If you look at David’s life, it took 20 years after he was anointed by God, until the time he was appointed. David was faithful and sought God and it turns out he was the only person in the Bible who has been anointed 3 times. Do you want to level up your anointing? You may face opposition, which may come from family, friends, co-workers or even strangers. David faced opposition from not only his family, but from Goliath, who he defeated with one rock.

You have a Father in Heaven who sees you, has chosen you, called you by name, ransomed His son and has given you gifts. Remember, God has chosen and gifted you, and your service doesn't require a church role; it extends to every profession. Young people, forge your unique story, avoiding others' scripts and relying on God's strength in battles. To the older generation, your anointing is still significant – if you're not dead, God is not done.

Watch Pastor Lucas's message to discover how you can live out your own anointing, just as David did.

Legacy Unleashed: Embrace Your Anointing for Lasting Impact!| The X Factor Part 2

Legacy Unleashed: Embrace Your Anointing for Lasting Impact!| The X Factor Part 2

What does it mean to be anointed by God? Anointing is the power of the Holy Spirit in a Christian’s life. The anointing is the difference between the best you can do and the best God  can do. The plans of God are revealed in the presence of God.

How many of you have at least one difficulty in your life right now?  Our difficulties will either derail us from God’s purposes or develop us for God’s purposes. When God brings you through a dark, difficult moment and you make it to the other side, there is victory. Where there is victory there is authority, where there is authority there is anointing. The reason God brought you through that challenging season is so that you could help someone that’s struggling with the same thing.

Anointing extends beyond personal benefits; it shapes the legacy left for future generations. Legacy is not merely personal accomplishments but the impact on others. Prayer, especially from parents, transforms them into prophetic figures, emphasizing that the greatest legacy is not in personal achievements but in raising others.

We need to encourage the younger generation to listen and learn from the older one, emphasizing the significance of understanding what not to do as much as what to do. In the context of personal growth, we need to aim higher, leveraging the anointing as an inner strength to surpass usual capabilities and achieve remarkable results. The call is to strive for more and resist settling for the ordinary.

Watch Pastor Todd Crews's message to discover how living in the anointing can inspire and impact the next generation.

You Can Have The Power Of The Holy Spirit | The X Factor Part 1

You Can Have The Power Of The Holy Spirit | The X Factor Part 1

Do you know what Christ means? As in, Jesus Christ? It’s not Jesus’ last name. Jesus was THE Christ. It’s a title and it means “The Anointed One.” Or, empowered by God. Anointing is the Bible’s way of describing the power of the Holy Spirit. God’s anointing in your life is the X Factor or IT Factor in your life. It’s what separates Christians from others in this world.

In this message, we explore 3 key questions. What is anointing? How do you lose it? How do you attract it? First, Anointing is the power of the Holy Spirit in a Christian’s life. It’s the presence of God activating your spiritual gifts for special service to God. But, you can lose God’s anointing. If you grow complacent and let your prayer life go cold and you stop talking with God, we can actually put out the fire of the Holy Spirit within us. You can also attract God’s anointing and that comes down to your heart. Do you have a humble heart that listens to God? One that seeks out Jesus through prayer and scripture? That’s what attracts anointing!

Watch this message from Pastor Tim Lucas, and prepare for a fresh anointing in your own life.

Release Your Anxiety And Place Your Trust In God | 21-Day Fast

Release Your Anxiety And Place Your Trust In God | 21-Day Fast

Are you anxious about what 2024 will bring? Are you anxious about your future or your family? We all worry, no matter how strong our faith is in God. We get overwhelmed by stress at work, juggling schedules, knowing what will come in times of uncertainty.

But, the Bible is so clear that there’s no need to worry. Look at our anchor verse from the Gospel of Matthew: “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” - Matthew 6:31-34

Matthew says to seek first God and his kingdom, and everything else will sort itself out. Notice that Jesus doesn’t say all of these things going on in your life aren’t important. Instead, he says fix your eyes on the thing that is most important. Jesus reminds us that God will carry the burdens and challenges we face. God cares about all of the things going on in our lives because he loves us so deeply.

Knowing God is in control, is not the same as allowing God to take control. Every challenge you face can be a “let go, let God” moment. When we seek God first, we make God the first part of our lives, by giving Him the first of our lives. One way we can seek God first, is by committing to fasting and praying. We encourage you to start the New Year with a 21-day fast to help you focus on God, and fight back against everyday stresses, worry and anxiety.

Watch this message from Pastor Zach Taylor where he discusses how seeking God first, will lead to a more peaceful life.

Jesus Was Sent To Earth To Save You | Christmas Eve 2023

Jesus Was Sent To Earth To Save You | Christmas Eve 2023

At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and the fact that He was sent to this earth to save us. Did you know that Jesus’ birth was first announced to shepherds grazing their flocks of sheep in the fields of Bethlehem? An angel announced the miraculous news to lowly shepherds! Maybe that’s because Jesus is also known as the Lamb of God. Your destiny and the destiny of the whole world is wrapped up in the mystery of Jesus’s birth– of his mother Mary’s little lamb!

Jesus was God’s spotless lamb, who was born without the blemish of sin. He was born without sin so that the Lamb of God would take away the sin of the world. How did He do this? 33 years after His birth, Jesus Christ went up to Jerusalem for the Passover. Like those lambs that were led to the slaughter, He was crucified. God sacrificed His son on the cross as a way to destroy sin and evil without destroying you. Understand that Jesus is our sacrificial lamb – He died so that all who believe in Him may have eternal life in Heaven.

So, at Christmas, let’s celebrate the birth of our Savior, the Lamb of God. His sacrifice means that nothing in your life, not your worst sins or addictions, not sickness or cancer or divorce, not even death itself can defeat you. Our little lamb, born in a manger as a vulnerable baby, has saved us, and He is victorious!

Watch this message from Pastor Tim Lucas and discover the story of Mary’s Little Lamb and how He reigns victorious!

How To Love Others Well At Christmas | Advent Part 3

How To Love Others Well At Christmas | Advent Part 3

We all have family or friends who add to the tension of holiday gatherings. Who is that person for you? Do you handle them with outrage, take offense, or show them love?

There are 4 types of crazy makers! The first are people who are demanding; bossy, pushy and controlling. They dominate every conversation. The second is disapproving; either they get their feelings hurt easily or they are highly critical, judgemental and negative. The third type are deafening; people who make themselves the biggest person in the room and are loud mouths. The fourth and final one are demeaning crazy makers. These make biting comments toward their family and friends or are dream deflaters.

Perhaps not so coincidentally, there are 4 types of love you can show at Christmas (and all year round). Love A is “if I scratch your back, you scratch mine.” The second, Love B is a “If I scratch your back, you’ll likely scratch mine.” The third, “I’ll scratch your back without expecting anything in return.” The fourth is “I’ll scratch your back even if you stab me in mine.” It’s this last, self-sacrificing version of love that we call cruciform love.

So, how can you embody this type of Christ-like love? There are three steps, one harder than the last. They are: refuse to be offended, don’t wait for an apology to forgive them, and always take the high ground. God invaded history with his glorious grace to provide you with his perfect love. At Christmas, let’s aim to love the crazy makers in our life!

Watch this message from Pastor Kayra Montañez where she walks you through how to deal with the challenging people we all have in our lives.

How To Find More Joy In Life | Advent Part 2

How To Find More Joy In Life | Advent Part 2

How do we grab ahold of the joy that God wants to give us? Before joy can be down in your heart, someone has to put it there. Every major scriptural lesson on joy is of it being GIVEN to us. Joy is not magically found in your heart, it is found in God!

I bet you would like more joy in your life, right? Sure, we all do! So, here are three practical ways to take joy with you wherever you go and it is easy to remember. The first thing you do is always put Jesus first. We have to listen to what God has for our lives. The second is others, meaning put others ahead of yourself, after Jesus. The third and final one is yourself. It is easiest to put ourselves first, but that is not how God calls us to live.

If we open our Bibles to James 4:10, it says to “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” Humbling ourselves means putting Jesus and others before ourselves. Love God first, and love others. If you do these two things, everything else will pretty much sort itself out. God will lift you up and give you the gift of joy.

Watch this message from Pastor Zach Taylor and find out how putting God and others first will impact your life in positive ways.

Prepare To Worship Jesus This Advent Season | Advent Part 1

Prepare To Worship Jesus This Advent Season | Advent Part 1

Do you know what Advent is? It’s a 4-week season in the Christian calendar leading up to Christmas Eve! The word means “coming” or “arrival.” So, Advent looks back to the first arrival of Jesus – the birth of Christ 2000 years ago. But, Advent also looks forward to the second coming of Christ when Jesus will return as our Glorious King. That means you have a great reason to HOPE this Christmas season!

At Advent, Christians all around the world are invited to do 3 things: slow down, clear the clutter in their hearts, and fall in love with Jesus all over again. If you don’t slow down, you may miss the joy and wonder of considering the miracle of Jesus coming to earth as a baby to save us. And after you slow down, take time to clear the clutter in your heart. Make room for Christ! Typically at Christmas we actually drift from Jesus, cluttering our calendar with work, shopping, and parties. Don’t let God get crowded out!

Then, take the time to worship fully! Worship isn’t just the singing of songs on Sunday. Worship is a choice to glorify God and trust him completely. Let worship overwhelm any worry you feel in this season and remember that God is in full control. Magnify the Lord! He sent His Son Jesus just for you to cast out fear, cancel your sin, and give you peace with His very presence.

Watch this message from Pastor Tim Lucas, and start the Advent Season by turning your focus back to Jesus.

You Can Leave A Legacy | Vision Sunday 2023

You Can Leave A Legacy | Vision Sunday 2023

This Vision Sunday message will give you a glimpse into what God is calling Liquid Church to do in 2024. What we do today will matter in 100 years and for all of eternity. You can leave a legacy and our work begins today.

As a church, we have four areas we want to focus on in 2024. The first is a focus on the Next Generation with the launch of a Pathways Learning Academy in our Parsippany building. This daycare will serve children from the ages of 0-5 Monday through Thursday. Our goal is to provide safe, high quality childcare based on the STEAM curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). In addition we have a passion to introduce our littlest ones to a Bible-based, Christian worldview in a fath-friendly environment.

One of our second goals, also focused on the Next Generation, is to create a Summer Camp for kids, which we call Camp Rock. Our dream is to provide a world-class Creative Arts Camp for children aged 6-14 that is Christ-centered, Bible-based, and leverages the arts (music, theater, voice, dance, graphic design) to reach the hearts and minds of the next generation.

Our third initiative will be Marketplace Mentoring, where students from the ages of 15-21 will be paired up with a mentor who will connect your Monday-Friday marketplace success to ministry significance, and become a spiritual father or mother to the Next Gen.

And, as always, we are committed to global outreach. We will be breaking ground in a brand new country this year to bring fresh, clean drinking water to the people of Zambia, where we will bring God’s Word to children with special needs. The water crisis in Africa disproportionately affects women and children who are responsible for fetching water from contaminated sources. Each day 2,300 children die from drinking dirty water and contracting Cholera, Dysentery and Typhoid. We also want to build two churches in Zambia where God’s Word can be taught.

The Power Of Praying With Partners | Moving Mountains Part 6

The Power Of Praying With Partners | Moving Mountains Part 6

Do you pray solo or with others? Matthew 18:19-20 says, “I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.  For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them.” There’s something about the power of praying partners…..when believers come together, that wins the battle and brings the breakthrough!

You may feel like your prayers are not being heard or answered. You may even want to give up on praying, but that is the devil waging war against you because he knows you are praying with the power of heaven behind you. Praying partners are powerful people. Prayer is the key to victory.

Prevailing prayers are not casual prayers, like saying grace before a meal, praying when you are in trouble or crisis, or when you feel you are praying to impress others. Prevailing prayer is the authentic cry from the heart of God’s children. It is insistent and consistent prayers to God, who loves to answer the cries of His children.

Watch this message from Pastor Kayra Montañez and learn how to strengthen your prayer life by praying with others in the name of Christ.

How To Pray For The Next Generation | Moving Mountains Part 5

How To Pray For The Next Generation | Moving Mountains Part 5

Have you ever thought about how the prayers you pray today will impact generations of your family to come? What will be the legacy you leave your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and future generations? Legacy is to live in a way that outlasts us.

We must remember how powerful prayer is and not just pray for today. Don’t just pray for one family member to get saved….pray for your entire family to encounter Christ! Don’t pray for a better job, pray for your dream job! Don’t pray for enough money to pay the bills, pray for an abundance of resources so you can be a blessing to others! Don’t just pray for your kids before bed….pray for their future wives and husbands, and their kids, and their kids. Don’t just pray for your life…pray for your legacy!

If you are going to have eternity in mind, you have to live with urgency. Life is short. Eternity is real. The time is now. As a Christian, we have people to help, a gospel to share and an impact to make! It does not matter how old you are to begin your legacy. Now is the time to live for God, make an impact and pray bold prayers with urgency.

Watch this message from Pastor Todd Crews, and learn how to strengthen your prayer life to leave a powerful legacy centered on Christ.

God Can Do The Impossible | Moving Mountains Part 4

God Can Do The Impossible | Moving Mountains Part 4

Do you feel worn out, tired, discouraged, or frustrated by a situation you are in and your prayers have not been answered? Don’t stop praying! You should keep praying through it and the walls will fall! The plans of God are revealed in the presence of God.

God does not give you marching orders until you fall to your knees in prayer. If you look at Joshua’s story in the Bible, we see that Joshua was hand-picked by God to lead His people after the death of Moses. God commanded him to cross the Jordan River to lead His people into the Promised Land, but the water was raging. Joshua fell to his knees and prayed, took a step of faith by putting a toe in the water and God stopped the rushing water based on Joshua’s faith. Is there a situation in your life that you need to trust God fully with? God can do the impossible. In fact, impossible situations are not intimidating to our God.

The challenge is that you need to walk in faith, not by sight. If your situation does not change, it is often a clue that God is trying to change YOU. He wants you to be less focused on the outcome and more focused on obedience. Public victories are a result of private visits with the Lord. You need to worship before warfare and consecrate before conquest!

Watch this message from Pastor Tim Lucas, and learn how to strengthen your prayer life and watch how the walls standing in your way will fall and your mountains will be moved.

Keep Praying And Never Give Up | Moving Mountains Part 3

Keep Praying And Never Give Up | Moving Mountains Part 3

Have you ever felt the power of prayer in your life? If not, has it discouraged you from continuing to pray? There is power in persistence and if you keep at it, you WILL see the rewards from doing so. So, today let us urge you to keep praying and to never give up!

How much you pray is just as important as the words you pray, if not more so. The consistency of your prayer is as important as the content. We should be coming to God with audacious prayers without shame, over and over again. Keep seeking and keep asking over and over again. In the New Testament every major teaching includes at least one reference to praying with persistence. 1 Thesolonians 5 says pray without ceasing; Colossians 2 tells us to be steadfast in our prayers; Ephesians 5 instructs us to pray at all times and on every occasion; 1 Chronicles says to seek God continually.

You may feel uncomfortable praying because it feels like you are constantly asking for things from God. When you look at God as your Father and not as a busy leader, an angry judge or as disinterested and a disappointed figure in your life, prayers will come easier and often. God is not going to give you everything you want, when you want it, but there is power in persistence. So keep praying for anything and everything and see God at work in your life.

Watch this message from Pastor Zach Taylor, and learn how to strengthen your prayer life and deepen your relationship with God.

How To Pray With Power And Conviction | Moving Mountains Part 2

How To Pray With Power And Conviction | Moving Mountains Part 2

Do you have a strong prayer life? Are you bold? Are you strong? Do you pray with power and conviction? Your prayer life is the way to find a deeper connection with God and you can learn to be someone who prays with POWER!

Before you step into God’s promises for your life, you have to understand that He will be with you every step of the way. No matter how big or small your problem is, or how high your mountain is, God will be walking alongside you. There are just two steps to take to position yourself to be used powerfully by God.

The first is to consecrate yourself to God, which means to set yourself apart and be fully devoted to God. Consecration puts you in the position to see God work powerfully. Second, you must take a daring leap of faith. Remember that we only need faith the size of a mustard seed for God to move in powerful ways. Faith is taking the first step, even before God reveals the second step. Have the STRENGTH and COURAGE to trust that God has got you. The plans of God are only revealed in the presence of God.

Watch this message from Pastor Tim Lucas, and learn how to strengthen your prayer life and deepen your relationship with God.

Do You Have Enough Faith For A Miracle?

Do You Have Enough Faith For A Miracle?

Do you have a mountain in your life that you have to overcome? What do we mean by a mountain? Well, it’s a  situation that seems impossible and looks immovable! It’s too big… too heavy to carry… too steep to overcome on your own. What is your mountain?

Maybe you want to start a family, but can’t conceive a child. You’re facing a mountain of infertility. Or maybe you have tried counseling and therapy, but now you’re now facing divorce. Or maybe your mind is just overcome every day with anxiety or depression. Whatever your mountain is, God can handle it!

All you need is faith the size of a mustard seed and trust that God will get you through. A mustard seed is the tiniest known garden seed and is only 1 millimeter in diameter. But, Scripture teaches us that’s all we need. A tiny faith in Jesus can lead to miraculous outcomes and each of us overcoming seemingly insurmountable challenges. What we need to do is SEEK GOD! We need to pray to Him and seek His help and intervention in difficult situations.

Watch this message from Pastor Tim Lucas, and be inspired to know that if you feel like your faith is tiny, that is all God needs. Don’t pray to God about the size of your mountain! Talk to your mountain about the size of your God.

How Serving At Church Makes A Difference

How Serving At Church Makes A Difference

Do you remember the first time you visited a church? Did you feel welcome? That answer could depend on the doorkeeper. In the times of the Old Testament (thousands of years ago), doorkeepers were people who stood outside of the Holy Temple. Now, this wasn’t a sought after job, because the further away you were from the inside of the temple, the less important you were considered to be.

At churches today, like Liquid, we still have doorkeepers. But, they serve a vital role and we hold them in high esteem. You see, our doorkeepers are the first people that welcome guests to church. Whether you serve on the parking team or the greeting team literally holding the door open for guests or making them feel welcome as they enter the service, how you interact with them can make the difference between a positive church experience or a negative church experience. The big picture here is that we hold the door open for others to meet Jesus. This is how serving at church makes a real difference in people's lives!

That first impression matters. Why is ONE DAY so important? Because ONE DAY could be the day that changes everything! Today could be the day that God answers the prayer, performs the miracle or keeps the promise! In ONE DAY, God can deliver someone from an addiction that has held a person captive for years! In ONE DAY, God can bring back a prodigal child that has run away and has been gone for decades! But in order to experience a miracle ONE DAY, we need people to hold the door and help them experience the presence of God! Are you ready to be a doorkeeper? Join a Dream Team and you could be that person who holds the door open for someone to meet Jesus.

Make Wise Choices About Screen Time For Kids | Parenting in the 21st Century Part 3

Make Wise Choices About Screen Time For Kids | Parenting in the 21st Century Part 3

Is time spent on your phone moving you closer to Jesus or further away? Our devices are discipling us and we have to find time to redeem the screen. The average American checks their phone 344 times a day, that’s once every 2.8 minutes. 89% of us check our phones as soon as we wake up. Spending any more than 3 hours a day on your cell phone makes you 378% more likely to suffer from weight gain and obesity, 158% more likely to suffer from depression and a staggering 680% more likely to suffer from a high level mood disorder. And this isn’t just about us, we need to make wise choices about screen time for our kids.

And, guess what? Teenagers average 3.5 hours a day on social media. Every major study has shown that anything over 3 hours a day doubles a teenager’s probability of being clinically diagnosed with depression or anxiety, with 37% of teenagers reporting they have been bullied online. Right now, there is a mental health pandemic happening with our teens and young adults due to their increased online activities.

So, ask yourself this question: Are you conforming to the patterns of this world or being transformed by Jesus? There are 4 million pornography sites on the internet today and it has become a $100 billion industry with the average age a child is exposed to pornography being 11 years old. Parents, you have the power to break these chains and take control!

There are positive ways to use your phone to bring you closer to God. Download the Liquid App where you can get connected through deep breath devotionals, prayer, practicing gratitude, worship music and our Sunday messages.

Watch this message from Pastor Zach Taylor and discover how our God is in the business of transformation. Time spent online can be done wisely!

The 4 Stages Of Parenting | Parenting In The 21st Century Part 2

The 4 Stages Of Parenting | Parenting In The 21st Century Part 2

Did you know there are 4 stages of parenting? These are based on the ages and needs of your children, and should shape HOW you’re parenting your kids. Ultimately, we want to win the HEARTS of our kids! Parenting isn’t about power and winning arguments - we’re shaping people, hopefully into kind, compassionate human beings who love Jesus. So, here are the 4 stages of parenting, where are you right now?

  • Discipline years (ages 1-5) The days are long and hard! This stage is mainly about keeping the child alive and laying down the limits. For the first 5 years, you strengthen your child’s obedience muscles with consequences.

  • Training years (ages 5-12) This is when you start explaining the WHY behind the rules of life. You train while you explain and help them practice good choices and turn them into habits.

  • Coaching years (ages 12-18) This is when you coach more than correct, because your kids are gaining independence. And this is a time when you really want to focus on winning hearts and not arguments.

  • Friendship years (18+) Because ultimately you want to become friends with your children when they become adults. If you do the early years right, you get the rest of your lives to be friends!

Watch this message from Pastor Tim and learn how to parent your child well through each stage of life with loving discipline.

2 Things Every Family Needs | Parenting In The 21st Century Part 1

2 Things Every Family Needs | Parenting In The 21st Century Part 1

Regardless of what kind of family you grew up in or find yourself in now, a fresh start is possible and you are not doomed to make the same mistakes your parents did. So, what are the TWO things that every family needs? Love AND Discipline. Together, these two ingredients will help families flourish. And there’s a reason for that. They are the twin qualities of the heart of God Himself!

The goal of loving discipline is that when kids break your trust, they repair the relationship. It’s not a punishment for breaking the rules. It’s about fighting to repair damaged relationships. Loving discipline makes a child better. Punishment rarely makes a kid better, but it often makes them bitter! So, what’s your parenting style? Do you lean toward being permissive and all about love? Or do you lean toward perfectionism and discipline? Typically, we’re biased based on what was modeled to us.

Watch this message from Pastor Tim and ask yourself: What gifts did your parents give that you want to keep?  What mistakes did they make that you want to leave behind with God’s help?

Investing In The Faith Of Gen Z

Investing In The Faith Of Gen Z

When we see our names in unlikely places, it can spark something in us that makes us feel recognized or like someone sees what we have to offer. Today, brands like Spotify, Tik Tok and Nike have figured out the power of personalization and participation in reaching the next generation - Gen Z. These kinds of innovations matter to the local church because we want to invest in the faith of the Next Generation. As a church, we want the teenages and young adults of Gen Z to know that they are seen by God and the Church, made in the image of God, and that they have something to offer!

If you think brands are innovative at reaching Gen Z, know that Jesus had the original power of personalization and participation all the way back in the 1st Century! For example, take a look at Jesus' followers, the Apostles. Jesus saw potential young followers like Matthew, who had the odds stacked against him: He was a tax collector and cheated people out of money. Matthew was flawed, but Jesus saw past his challenges to bring about incredible purposes in his life. When Jesus looked at His disciples, He didn’t just see what their lives were like at that moment… He didn’t see the mistakes of their past… He saw the potential of who they could become in the future, and He invited them into their destiny.

Watch this message from Pastor Kayra to learn how you can help invest in the faith of the next generation.

Where Will You Put Your Trust? | At The Movies Part 4

We’re all seeking a way to control the world around us… and we see this theme throughout the Summer blockbuster hit, Oppenheimer. The movie Oppenheimer explores the messy inner depths of humanity as they face the threat of global annihilation. It’s a dark, messy, existential biopic following the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, played by Cillian Murphy. Oppenheimer was a theoretical physicist known as the father of the atomic bomb. He was the director of the top-secret Manhattan project that produced the world’s first atomic bombs that would be dropped on both Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

The plot of the movie follows Oppenheimer through his life, starting with his enchantment and hopefulness in the advances of science. When asked whether he believed in God, Oppenheimer responded in a tongue-in-cheek way that his trust was in science. He has this shiny external hope that perhaps science, through the study of atomic energy, could promise and create a peace that mankind has never known. But that dream eventually gives way to deep wrestling and troubled inner existential turmoil that Oppenheimer experienced having created such a destructive and deadly weapon. When the world around us seems out of control, where do we put our trust?

Watch this message from Pastor Zach to learn a spiritual lesson behind the hit movie, Oppenheimer.

The Real World Is Hard | At The Movies Part 3

This message features short clips from the critically acclaimed film Barbie, which was released in theaters in 2023 by Warner Bros. Pictures. No copyright is claimed for Barbie, and we assert that use of the short clips within this sermon is permissible under fair use principles in U.S. copyright law. Liquid Church is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, specifically, a non-denominational Christian Church, and the purpose of using this media is non commercial in nature.

The basic plot of “Barbie'' is simple: Life exists in two parallel universes, Barbie Land and the Real World. Barbie Land is full of harmony, it’s fun, and it’s immaculately designed. Then there’s the Real World, which is rife with duplicity, resentment, sexism, and corporate greed. Barbie’s story is a nod back to Adam and Eve, who live in paradise before disobeying God and eating the forbidden apple. Adam and Eve unleashed sin and we’re still living that reality today! But, here’s the good news. Though Adam and Eve must leave paradise, God is always bringing people back to Himself. We are ultimately saved through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

As Barbie discovers, perfection isn’t real. Perfection’s not only plastic…it’s false! No one looks like Barbie forever. No one can really live in Barbie Land. No one can be successful all of the time, like the other Barbies. Even plastic dolls get flat feet and cellulite! For us in the real world, the question to ask is, can we stop expecting perfection? Perfection of ourselves, our relationships, of other people. Perfection that not even God Himself expects from us! This would save us from so much disappointment.

Watch this message from Pastor Kayra and make a choice: Will you cling on to your notion of what perfection or good looks like? Or will you focus on your faith and choose God’s will over your own?

The movie The Covenant tells the story of a US Military Leader and his Afghan interpreter during the war in Afghanistan. This movie is fascinating, because in some ways this relationship mirrors our relationship with God. It begins as transactional, but in the end, it looks a lot more like a covenant. In this message, Pastor Bryan Roe challenges us by asking three questions to assess our relationship with God.

#1) Whose intel are you trusting? Are you trusting what the world says or what the Word says? Are you following your heart or following your Savior? You must place your trust in God.

#2) Where do you turn for rescue? We all have something, someone, or somewhere we turn to when the going gets tough. What is it for you? Is it drinking, gossiping, or binge-eating? How do you numb yourself? Spoiler - you can’t rescue yourself. Turning to God should be your first response, not your last resort.

#3) Does God have a hook in you? How does God’s grace compel you to act? How does it drive your sense of purpose? Here’s the bottom line: Don’t waste another minute doing life apart from Jesus. If he gave his life to die for you, give your life to live for him.

It’s Time For A Revival | At The Movies Part 1

This message features short clips from the critically acclaimed film Jesus Revolution, which was released in theaters in 2023 by Lionsgate. No copyright is claimed for Jesus Revolution, and we assert that use of the short clips within this sermon is permissible under fair use principles in U.S. copyright law. Liquid Church is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, specifically, a non-denominational Christian Church, and the purpose of using this media is non commercial in nature.

It’s time for a new generation to rise up in revival! And that’s one of the big takeaways that we see in the movie, Jesus Revolution. Every generation is searching for something. We all have this God-shaped hole in our heart, which is a desire to be loved and accepted, and to know that we have worth. The problem is: Every generation tends to look in the wrong places, like the mainstream culture. We try to accumulate money and wealth. Or in the counterculture, turning to drugs and sex. But, the freedom everyone wants is only found in Jesus.

And if we want to reach the next generation, we need to open the doors of the church to EVERYONE. We see in the movie the clash between Hippies and “traditional” Christians in the church. But, Jesus loved and welcomed everybody. We cannot emphasize man made rules and regulations and look down our nose at others. Hypocrisy is the enemy of revival. Our job is simply to keep the focus on Jesus and watch what happens!

Watch this message from Pastor Tim Lucas, and discover how we can look for revival in our time.

How To Share Your Faith | Through You Part 4

How To Share Your Faith | Through You Part 4

We need to shift our perspective on what it means to share our faith. We are called to tell the story of how Jesus changed our life. So, what’s your story? What have you overcome? What’s important to you? Who is your family? There was once a time when you weren’t in church, so how did you meet God and how has He changed your life? God wants to use YOUR STORY to impact someone else’s story!

The purpose of being a Christians isn’t to sing songs, watch sermons, and stay out of trouble. The purpose of being a Christian is to persuade others into the Kingdom of God. Now, you may have some excuses for why you don’t want to share your story with others. Maybe you’re nervous because you don’t believe you have what it takes. Maybe you think this would be imposing your beliefs on others. Or sharing your story feels uncomfortable. If that’s you, then this message will give you the guidance you need to tell your story with confidence.

Watch this message from Pastor Todd Crews, and learn how to tell your story in 3 steps: Share your life before Jesus, share how you met Jesus, and share your life since you met Jesus. Each one of us should be able to tell that story in both 30 seconds and 30 minutes! Think of it this way…one is a TV show and the other is an Instagram Reel!

How To Serve People Around You | Through You Part 3

How To Serve People Around You | Through You Part 3

When Jesus talks about the reason He comes to Earth, it involves eating and drinking. In the Gospels, Jesus is either at a meal, headed to a meal, coming from a meal, or talking about meals. Plus, almost 75% of Jesus’ parables center around food, wine, or drink. At the center of Jesus’ mission was a MEAL!

So, what does this have to do with you? This week you need to discern who God is calling you to share a meal with. Who is He asking you to bless by building a relationship with them? It could be anyone: an acquaintance at the gym, a member of your book club, the mom you see each morning at school dropoff. Jesus doesn’t want you to save the people around you, but He does want you to know and serve them.

Your biggest obstacle might just be your calendar. Those vacation plans, swim lessons for the kids, and a crazy work schedule. But, when we withhold our time from the people around us, we are communicating to the world that we value our calendar more than the calling God has given us to bless others. Don’t hold back. You have hope and joy that you can share with others and it starts with a meal this week!

Watch this message from Pastor Zach Taylor, and see what God will do through you this Summer!

How To Listen To The Holy Spirit | Through You Part 2

How To Listen To The Holy Spirit | Through You Part 2

Have you ever wondered: “Does God really still speak to people? Or, "How do I know when I should follow a nudge from God and take a risk to talk with someone about Jesus?” You are not alone! Here’s the great news: God still speaks today through the Holy Spirit. And, when you set out to bless your neighbors, God will actually give you directions on what to do and who to reach out to!

We are learning how to be people who BLESS others. First, we start with prayer, asking God for directions. And when we get them, we better listen! You should expect God to give you nudges, whispers, or promptings to engage people who are far from Jesus. So, when you feel the nudge to sit next to that lonely girl in summer class, follow it. When you feel the nudge to introduce yourself to the new family across the street or invite your coworker over for dinner, take action! The reality is that people are more ready to learn about Jesus than you realize.

But, you have to begin with prayer and then you have to be willing to listen, and the key to effective listening is asking excellent questions. Most people don’t want solutions, they just want support. They want to feel heard, known, and loved.

Watch this message from Pastor Kayra Montanez, and see what God will do through you this Summer!

How To Bless Your Neighbors | Through You Part 1

How To Bless Your Neighbors | Through You Part 1

As a follower of Jesus, how can you build bridges of faith to folks who need Jesus? God wants to share His love with ordinary people through you!

So, ask yourself two crucial questions: 1) Who is far from God that’s close to you? 2) Who is hurting that needs your help? Ask the Holy Spirit to show you. Is it your workout buddy at CrossFit? The mom you always see with her littles at Starbucks. Your teammate at work who’s going through a divorce?  Your neighbor next door who just moved in?

How To Change | Alan Briggs Guest Message

How To Change | Alan Briggs Guest Message

When it comes to change, there are three questions you may be asking yourself that are truly fascinating. How do people change? Why is change so hard? And why do we not change when we want to? These are age-old questions, and thankfully, the Bible has answers to guide us on our quest to figure out how to change and embrace the freedom that comes along with it.

If change were simply about our intellect, about AWARENESS, that would be great! Many of us would probably want to be thin, wealthy, have supportive friends and be on vacation all the time. If only it were that simple! Say you want to get in shape, but you love donuts and cheeseburgers. The obstacles to change are real!

When it comes to change, there is a string from our hands and feet to our heart. Growth requires two things; new awareness and new actions. We realize we need to change, and we can change, when we put new actions into our lives.

Watch this message from guest speaker Pastor Alan Briggs, and consider how Christ can grant you freedom and help you to embrace healthy change for the good.

How Do You Handle Grief? | Been There Part 4

How Do You Handle Grief? | Been There Part 4

What loss or death are you mourning? The truth is, all of life is loss. Some of us have lost dreams - of marriage, children or a career. Every time you change jobs, or move to a new place, it’s a loss. And then some of us have experienced catastrophic loss. A spouse has an affair. You lose your job after 25 years. You struggle with infertility. A family member dies. How do you handle your grief?

When you go through a tough time, God doesn’t want you to suppress your grief. He doesn’t want you to repress it either. He wants you to express it to friends and confess it to Him. That’s how you start your path to healing! You have a God who CARES for you! Even when you can’t see it, God is working for your good. Let us encourage you to have an “even now” kind of faith, where even in the bad times you hold onto hope and you hold onto faith.

Jesus doesn’t promise us a life free from pain. And he doesn’t always do what we want when we want it. But, God loves you even when He is late! And when you believe in Jesus, the hope we have is that we will never die.

Watch this message from Pastor Kayra Montanez, and consider how you can begin to grieve with God at your side.

How To Manage Your Anger | Been There Part 3

How To Manage Your Anger | Been There Part 3

Be honest, has your anger ever got the best of you? For the majority of men, this can be a struggle. You know that you have to work to tame your temper. So, how do you manage your anger in a Godly way? Because anger is one of the most common emotions and one of the most misunderstood. There’s a right way and a wrong way to express anger.  One is helpful, one is harmful.

Typically, men have one of two stances. When angry, they either become a maniac or a mute. In other words, they blow up or they clam up! Here’s the good news: God’s word outlines 5 steps to tame your temper for good.

#1) Resolve to manage it. Stop making excuses for your anger and acknowledge that anger is actually a choice!

#2) Remember the cost. There’s always a price tag to anger.  You can get people to do almost anything by scaring them.  But the long-term effects are devastating.

#3) Reflect before reacting. In other words, you think before you speak. If you’re gonna tame your temper, men, you’ve got to watch your words.

#4) Release it to God. You need to analyze your anger and then release it to God for healing. You don’t Express it, you don’t Suppress it, you Confess it to God!

#5) Rely on Christ’s help. There is no way you can do this on your own. That’s why you have to rely on Christ’s help.

Watch this message from Pastor Tim Lucas, and consider how you can start managing your anger today!

You Can’t Make Everyone Happy | Been There Part 2

You Can’t Make Everyone Happy | Been There Part 2

Every single person reading this has let someone else down. You’ve failed to live up to others expectations. And you’re worried about what others think of you. But, if Jesus were here, He would tell you that if you are doing right by everybody, you are doing it wrong. It’s not possible to make everyone happy.

And there is so much freedom in that realization. It’s so much better than the prison of constant worry of wondering who you offended, who you let down, who you need to talk to, who you need to give more attention to. Did my boss think I did a good job this week? My friend came over to my house, did they think it was clean enough? I haven’t called my mom in a few days, I wonder if she’s mad at me? I met a new client at work, I wonder if they were impressed with me? That is exhausting.

So how do we break free from this? How do we move on from this fear that drives our lives? Set your sights on Jesus. Focus on being His servant. Be who He tells you to be. Set that as your goal, and everything else will work itself out. The bottom line is that you need to be more concerned with what God thinks of you than anyone else.

Watch this message from Pastor Zach Taylor, and consider how you can refocus your energies on what Jesus thinks of you.

How To Fight Temptation

How To Fight Temptation

It’s funny how temptation works, isn’t it? It will lure you in and entrap you. Temptation convinces even the most disciplined people that one little peek won’t really matter. Temptation is all around us, and if we’re honest, every single one of us will admit that we have some area of weakness. The good news is that Jesus understands temptation, and is right there with you in the face of it. Jesus can help you learn how to fight temptation even when the urge seems too great.

The truth is, Jesus is the only human being to ever experience temptation and not fall prey to it. Hebrews 4:15 in the Bible tells us that Jesus can empathize with our weaknesses: He’s been there. He understands. But even though the Bible tells us that Jesus was tempted in every way, he did not sin. Jesus lived a perfect life and fought temptation by the power of the Holy Spirit within Him!

In the person of Jesus, we have a real man, who went through real things just like we did. And as Christians, the power of the Holy Spirit is available to us, too. No matter what sin is in your past and what you are tempted by today, take heart: God is not just some distant, far off, powerful figure… He is right here with us, fully understanding each and every pain that we endure.

Watch this message from Pastor Zach Taylor, and consider how you could draw near to Jesus and fight temptation in your life with the power of the Holy Spirit.

How To Fight An Epidemic Of Loneliness

How To Fight An Epidemic Of Loneliness

The majority of Americans today would say that no one in their lives really knows them well. We battle loneliness on a regular basis. Our relationships are an inch deep. So, what’s at the root of this? It’s our own insecurities. Our own brokenness. Because even though we all want to be known and loved, there’s something inside of us that makes us hesitate. We wonder if we’re actually loveable. So we keep a safe distance.

So, how did Jesus build relationships? His strategy was eating and drinking with others. Seriously, look at the Bible and all the meals Jesus had in community with others! Think of this as Biblical Hospitality. It’s the process of turning strangers into friends. And guess what? As Christ followers, we are called to this – to share food, and time, and space, and conversation with others around a table.

This is so much more than socializing. God’s table is a hospital. It’s where he performs surgery and administers medicine. It’s where isolation is healed. It’s where hearts are shared. If we would unlock the power of the table, we could heal our loneliness. The Holy Spirit is calling you to live a life of radical hospitality. How will you respond?

Watch this message from Pastor Justin Kendrick, and consider how you could use your table for radical hospitality.

You Can Hear The Voice Of God

You Can Hear The Voice Of God

God wants nothing more than to spend all day, every day speaking with you. He wants to hear about every single mundane detail of your life. He wants to share the moments of beauty with you, He wants to sit with you in the moments of heartbreak and defeat. He wants to share every single waking moment of every single day with you. Yes, you can have a conversation with God! You can hear the voice of the almighty creator speaking directly to you!

But sometimes it feels like a one way conversation instead. Maybe it was the prayer request that you prayed over and over and over again that went unanswered. Maybe it was the big life decision that you faced that you needed guidance for, but felt like you didn’t receive any. Maybe when you sit down to talk to God, you end up asking the question…is anyone even there?

The truth is, you’re not alone. God IS there and God still speaks today! But, we learn in Scripture that God doesn’t shout or show off. He whispers to us. Do you know why? Because you only need to whisper if you’re standing right next to someone. And that’s how close He is to you. He’s right beside you always, ready for a conversation, ready to speak to you.

Watch this message from Pastor Zach Taylor, and be encouraged that God still speaks and you can hear from Him today!

What Dreams Do You Have For Your Children? | Mother’s Day 2023

What Dreams Do You Have For Your Children? | Mother’s Day 2023

What dreams do you have for your children? To do well in school? To fit in? To conquer their social anxiety? What happens when your dreams for your kids don’t come true?

For instance, you want them to do well in school, but instead you find they’re not meeting milestones. Their reading is going slower than other kids. They’re not performing well in math. The tutoring you arranged isn’t helping them. On Mother’s Day, we look for an example in the Bible and we find Hannah - a woman wanting desperately to become a mother and her approach was this: She prayed, she believed, and she waited.

And Hannah didn’t just pray quiet prayers, she unloaded on God! She didn’t hold anything back and told Him exactly what she felt: pain, hurt, anguish, and disappointment. Guess what, you can do the same! Our God would rather have you yell at Him in disappointment than stay silent in defeat. Take your pain to God, because He can handle it and he cares. Then, turn your child over to God. Release those expectations you have. Release those dreams and desires. And ask God to use your child for HIS purpose! Why? Because God’s dreams and His love for your child are GREATER than your dreams and your love for your child!

Watch this message from Pastor Kayra Montanez, and be encouraged on Mother’s Day that God loves you and your child more than you know!

How God Blesses Your Generosity | Blessed Life Part 2

How God Blesses Your Generosity | Blessed Life Part 2

We would all love it if God would multiply our money, our resources, and our impact. Good news: God can do it! Let’s talk about how God can work miracles with your money and bless your generosity. Many people have heard the story from the Bible when Jesus turned 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish into enough food to feed a crowd of at least 20,000 people (that’s a conservative estimate). And there were even leftovers!

When you examine this story, we discover that the food didn’t multiply in Jesus’ hands when He blessed it. It happened when He put the food in the hands of his disciples to give away. But catch this principle – your resources must be blessed by God BEFORE they can multiply in your hands! You bring your FIRST resources to Jesus, He blesses it, and then He gives you more to help others. That’s another principle to pick up on here… only what is GIVEN AWAY can multiply. Jesus doesn’t want to bless you so you can have a fat bank account. He wants to bless you, so that you can make a difference by helping others: feed the hungry, support single moms, care for the homeless, etc.

This is next level generosity. Starting to tithe, and giving God your first fruits is a wonderful way to follow God’s command and calling. The next step is multiplication… giving offerings above and beyond so that God can do miracles with your money.

Watch this message from Pastor Tim Lucas, and be challenged as you learn about “the principle of multiplication” and how to lead A Blessed Life.

How To Be Generous With Your Finances | Blessed Life Part 1

How To Be Generous With Your Finances | Blessed Life Part 1

I bet you would like God’s hand of blessing on your plans and your life, right? Good news: God wants to bless you! He wants to bless your family, your finances, and your faith, so you can be a blessing to others. But, guess what? You gotta learn to put God first. You gotta learn how to be generous with your finances. In our series, The Blessed Life, we’re learning about 2 principles guaranteed to attract the favor and blessing of God.

This week we look at “The Principle of First.” When God is first in your life, everything else comes into order. Now, this doesn’t mean you won’t have problems. What this means is you can survive whatever situation you have, because God is in charge. He’s in control in your life, because you have put him first. And putting him first also applies to your finances.

The Bible makes it clear that the people who put God first should give a tithe every week (tithe means a tenth, so that’s 10% of your income) to the local church. And it gives faith to give the first of your finances! Tithing means you’re giving to God BEFORE you know if you’re going to have enough. Ultimately, God doesn’t just want you to put Him first, he wants you to have a heart like His… He wants to bless you so you can bless others. Listen, all of us are born as “takers.” But when you’re born again in Jesus Christ, you should be a “giver!” If you want to see the supernatural blessings of God upon your life, start by giving generously.

Watch this message from Pastor Tim Lucas, and be challenged as you learn about “the principle of first” and how to lead A Blessed Life.

Why Should I Get Baptized?

Why Should I Get Baptized?

Jesus is alive today! God is still moving and still changing lives. He can change yours too! So, if you’re asking yourself… Why should I get baptized? That’s the answer: Because it will change your life! Baptism isn’t something we created or conjured up. Jesus Himself was baptized and commands us to do the same.

In fact, Jesus' last words on earth include the following command: “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” When you are baptized, first you must repent. You first change your mind about God (admit sin will destroy you). Then, you change your heart (about God-- He’s not mad, He’s forgiving and wants to give you a fresh start). And, finally you let His love change your life!  Believe God will give you a second chance. If you confess your sin, He will wash them away and raise you to new life in Christ!

Watch this message from Pastor Tim Lucas, and learn about Baptism, and whether it’s the next step for you and your faith journey.
